One of the few “misses” from AKAF for me. This was highly recommended, and everyone seems to like it, so I was very curious to try it. …I don’t like it. Scents are very subjective, and we sometimes get unpleasant associations with them. For Oud Al Amir, this is “hippie head shop” all the way to me. It reminded me of a guy that I knew in college who carried a smell like this wherever he went, along with clove cigarettes. I don’t doubt that it’s a high-quality composition, it’s just that I get “hippie funky” from it. I just can’t enjoy it.

Sublime, it definitely is! This is what the dream man should smell like, in winter at least. I love this scent, something crazy!!! The fruits are subtile and not cloying, balancing the burnt wood perfectly. This is a masterpiece! Can be worn by a woman but somehow even if I’m tempted to buy it for myself, I’d feel like a fraud; unworthy of it; not masculine enough. I will make my husband wear it instead. I cannot recommend this enough but you need to wear this with confidence. 100% love it!!!! Actually smelling it as I’m writing, I will wear it as well! Can’t be without “mystery in a bottle”.

WOW very powerful fragrance, very masculine. It can be really really dangerous on the right man, it’s very very hot and sexy. So dry and woody smoked aroma, and at the same time with a sweet background of dried fruits. At first I thought I’d never worn it, in the first 20 minutes it was so animalic on my skin, but after 1 hour I understood it was a masterpiece, a work of art and of Heart. Sweet and fruity oud wood, it has a soul this jewel, really. This man has a gift, opening these magic bottles you can visit other places and times in the past, it’s like knowing differet people just breathing this wonderful smell. Really stunning, really. I recommend this one, great value for a high high quality oud.

I finally received my Oud Al Amir perfume in the mail today. Wow, super excited!! I had to order it from England, since nobody sells it in US or I could not find it. It came as an oil, very thick oil. Even though the price was surprisingly affordable, the package and the look is gorgeous. I put a drop on my wrist and two on my neck and I cannot stop smelling my wrist. I love it!!! The fragrance is so beautifully complex, rich and warm… It is more then just a perfume, it tells a story… It is very delicately sweet and not overpowering as you would think. It has prominent notes of honey, wood, herbs in it. And I also smell a strong notes of propolis in it. Which makes me wonder if propolis and Oud (Agarwood) have something in common (both are aromatic resins). According to Fragrantica it has Cambodian Oud as a main note, this is the reason why i got it. I wanted to smell Oud and I have to say it is captivating! This is more then just another perfume…To me it is like smelling frankincense, the fragrance of it is healing to my mind, body and my soul.

I actually ordered a 1ml sample of this along with several others but they threw in a 3ml instead. This oil is just beautiful. Its very thick and smells like caramel mixed with a balmy oudh, incense and some spices. As the scent evolves through the day Lots of different wood smells come out. The caramel smell takes a back seat after a few hours but is still present. After 5-6 hours it wears down to the smell of pencil shavings with most of the caramel gone but you can still smell the balmy oudh in the background. Overall lovely composition and a great perfume house with brilliant customer service. I used very little of this so cant comment on the silage or projection, I would probably need to give it a few more tries. I see this scent as being more masculine but can be easily carried well by a mature strong woman.

Beautiful thick oil and smells great. The honey and caramel really comes through and lasts around the 4-5 hour mark. Im glad to say there is no barnyard smell here just a sweet honey/caramel. Personally i don’t get the fruity notes in this so may be my skin PH. Well worth the purchase and i opted for the 6ml Tola.
    8.5/10 longevity
    4/10 sillage

Lush and honeyed oud, very unisex. For those who want to explore this category of fragrance, this is a great place to start. Smoooth and wearable oud,it’s not the barnyard-y type. Big silage and excellent longevity, over 14 hours.

The quality of Alfaransi´s muhallats is nearly unbelievably good. All I really can say is they must be tried.
This one is of no exception; a sweet long lasting real oud, sweetened by some honey and slightly fruity. Lovely.

My very modest review of Oud Al Amir by Abdul Karim Al Faransi
It’s winter, family gathered around a table in a cozy vacation cabin, it’s snowing outside, the fireplace warm the our hearts and bodies. There’s joy and love in the air, at the table we have a beautiful aroma of caramel pudim, dried fruits and deserts made from honey. This is how I can describe Oud Al Amir by Abdul Karim Al Faransi.
This is a very woody fragrance blended beautifully with the sweet notes, the top players here are the cambodian agarwood (not skanky at all), woody notes, honey and a complexity of dried fruits, the honey and the dried fruits give balance too smooth out the agarwood giving it complexity and sweetness without being overpowered.
The official notes are as follow:
    Top: Sweet Woody, Caramel
    Heart: Green Notes, Honey
Base: Cambodian Agarwood, Sweet Ripe Fruits
The scent itself is smooth but strong, sweet but not gourmand and a bit dry, I can sense some kind of smokiness hidden in the background, very long lasting at least 10+ hours on my skin.
The other day I’ve decided to wear this on a dinner at a friends house, 2 drops max from this beautiful almost honey like attar, 1 on the wrist, dab, a bit on the neck, dab dab, dabbing a bit on clothes. Well all I can say it’s, I had no idea how strong this is, I’m terrible at judging fragrances in terms of projection and silage, I can only judge it on others, for my surprise everyone love it, I could fill the room with this beautiful scent but in a good smooth way, this was the description of my friend, which whenever she entered the room her words where always “Samuel your fragrance is so good, whenever I come in that’s all I can smell”, so yes, people will notice you, in a very good way. From all the people I gave it to smell, there’s no one who didn’t like it, even my nice (who is 5 years old) her reaction was “uhmmmmmm” with a big smile on her face sweet face :).
Highly recommend to try if you like sweet woody scents (samples available in the web store)

    Phenomenal.
Supposedly a very masculine scent, as a woman I find Oud Al Amir quite approachable for any one who loves deep woods.
How does the fragrance smell? The opening was mushroom-y and dank, but quickly gave way to a marvelous heart. Oooooh, this is thick, rich, and subtle (for an oud attar, that is!), and so impressively well blended.
The heart surprises me. Not only a dark, warm, and ambery sweetness, but also a distinct smoky campfire essence. Could it be the Cambodian oud? All I know is the addictive nature of this smoke – a honeyed, green smoke with the feel of the woods in it’s wake. The colors I ‘smell’ are richest brown loam, fern green, and amber flames.
My nose is reeling from the exquisite heart of this wild beauty. An attar that does what it claims to do – takes the wearer on a journey. In this case, an enchanted one.
Note – For those who are interested, Abdul Karim Al Faransi’s website ships all over the world (free shipping in India), with VERY affordable samples. You need never order an attar blind from this company. Shipping is slow but certain, and I found my interest and anticipation only heightened by my week and a half wait. It was WORTH every penny, this tiny order of mine (four samples for just about 10 USD, including the budget shipping!). I fully intend to do more adventurous shopping with them in future.
Conclusion: This is one adventure that will please both pocketbook and discriminating oud lover alike. HIGHLY Recommended.

I got 3ml of this oud oil at 15 british pounds and this gave me the the most wonderful experience of a 100usd. Exceptional. I have ordered the premier ones too but again a bottle of this. And it got stocked out too. I think this is one of the most amazing genuine thick non skanky aged oud out their in the market. I have the premium blends from ASQ too but this is on a different level. Bravo AKAF ! I cannot even put a score on this. Brilliant soft scent with the ideal soft projection and a beautiful seductive masculine sillage while one is moving around. This is a fruity spicy oud almost like an oud mukhallat.

This oil is genuine, I mean what it says is simple and real : Great combo of high quality Cambodi Oud and Honey/caramel. A perfect balance of strength and sweetness. The fruit note rises slowly from the heart of this mix. A very subtle and skilled creation, actually one of my favorites from Al Faransi.
