Description

Yves Saint Laurent launches a new version of the Opium perfume in April 2012. The fragrance is called Opium Vapeurs de Parfum or “fragrant fumes,” representing a balance of sensual and luminous, warm oriental notes and the freshness of the Mediterranean. Opium becomes gentle, caressing and light, while retanining its distinctive oriental and spicy character.

The composition embodies the contrast of white flowers and resins. It starts with freshness of mandarin and pink pepper. Orange blossom and Sambac jasmine in the heart lead to the base of incense, nutmeg, amber, vanilla and light woods.

Available as 50, 75 and 125 ml Eau de Toilette Legere.

Love it! Decided it’s not a twin of Ange ou demon le Secret..it’s a keeper! Fresh and lively!
This may become one of my favorite florals! And I’m not big on florals… It’s that lovely!❤️

Omg I was just in a blog on here about this one…the subject was summer incense scents. This is it, and it’s beautiful and elegant. Love! So what if it’s not the original Opium most people win t wear that in summer/ humudity. It’s a flanker and a good one at that.

Just sprayed this for the first time from a sample on the back of my hand. And it was immediately a very big like. I will see if it has some decent longevity, if it has, I’m afraid I will end up with a full bottle of it. It smells very comforting to me but also very familiar, don’t know if I have ever smelled it before.

Have to disagree about this not being tart. On my skin it’s a little sour, very tart and held up by an incessant pink pepper and incense base. In saying all of this, I love it. Very unusual, even if it is modern day chic personified. It just does it differently and I adore that. Some might call it ‘just for the young ones’ and I have to disagree. It takes guts to pull this off, even if it is understated. Very lovely.

    This is flat out lovely.
I really don’t get citrus except for a bit of brightness/juice. It is not tart, or citrus forward. So never fear.
This is actually unique, I don’t own anything else like it.
Smooth creamy floral notes, mixed with a bit of pepper, and all supported by this luscious smoke. Smoke and incense normally dominate on my skin, here it is well behaved. It’s the supporting actor, not out in front beating you about the face with burning coals.
A gentle, easy to wear oriental for summer. It does very well in the heat. And I find it wears long enough, it’s not 12 hours, and you won’t fill up a room (it’s summer please don’t do that!) but you will catch wiffs of lovely scent throughout the day. A good 5 to 6 hours on me easily makes it a great afternoon treat that takes you into the evening.

Its not cirtussy fresh, its not similar to Alien.
This is really beautiful scent. For summer it is perfect. I used Opium Vapeurs in spring, authumn, winter. But then i had a feeling oh nice nut nothing special. And now in warm months is developed to an amazing floral yet not too big floral perfume. A little bit oriental but not olis way, its oriental in frangipani and tropical island way. In this way it is to me. And still not strong, can wear it just casually.
I am sad now my sample finished nut someday will purchase it again.

Pretty shade of bottle, even if it has no cap (no caps are just a little annoyance of mine, but obviously doesn’t reflect on the fragrance itself nor the rating..just a pet peeve).
Anyway..Opening blast I smell a peachy/citrusy body wash type of scent. Unlike many of the other Opium flankers, I don’t think there is really any danger of overspraying this one,
So that peachy/citrusy body wash scent lasts a mere few minutes and I then pick up a citrusy/white floral with hints of incense poking in on occasion. Then it mainly feels like the citrus white floral and the incense are duking it out, and the perfume seems a little confused on what it is trying to “say”. Sort of reminds me of Dior’s Dune, but much weaker and softer. Personally I could do without the incense in this one. The nutmeg sort of smooths this out, giving a bit of uniqueness to the citrus/white floral scent. I really don’t pickup the patchouli. Vanilla lends a very slight sweetness, but I would not call this sweet. Ultimately this settles to sort of a candied white floral for me..sort of like a Bath and Body Works type scent, but not synthetic nor cloying.
Can’t say that I like this one, for the most part it feels like too much is going on and smelling “confused” to my nose/on my skin before settling to the candied white floral scent. But I don’t dislike this, either…Just not impressed or a fan this one. *shrug*

An unique perfume, very exotic, that escapes from mainstream. Opens with very strong mandarin and pink pepper, then there is nutmeg and incense, and last the woody notes and patchouly. The floral notes are very subtle. I don’t like to compare this with Opium or the vintage Opium because this is a whole new perfume, not intended to be a copy or a watered-down version of the former. It’s intensely spicy, very sensual, mystic, a work of art on its own.

Wow…this is “different” !!! So unique, yet I am “on the fence” about this one. First of all, this one has NOTHING to do with any other Opium/Flankers ect…
This scent, IMHO, will be a “chemistry” dependent scent.
And, I will add, that that this scent cannot be judged on initial spray, because for me, the first sniff was a little off-putting..then it starts to develope nicely.
Vapeurs is a good name for this one. At first,I can sense the smokey vibe,a touch of herbalness, sour, but that dissapates for me quicky. The dry-down is the magic in this one. It then becomes more “familiar” smelling to other scents out there..(how typical). I must say, I am happy to own this step-child of the Opium line!!! She fits right into the family….somehow…and I adore the other step-child of the Opiums…Belle de Opium too
Edit: Forgot to mention…this has a good orange blossom/jasmine/nutmeg mix…especially in the dry-down…which lets me see how some people liken it to the JPG Classique…???

  10. :

    5 out of 5

Your nose doesn’t have time to react in the opening of Opium Vapeurs de Parfum. Initially, there is a strong hit of the drydown from Spellbound Estee Lauder, huge spicy floral carnation and sweet peach. And there’s more going on besides the spicy floral aspect. Incensey, balsamic character, the patchouli is wonderful in here, not heavy, it co-operates with the rest of incense notes: benzoin and amber very harmoniously, and a lot of florals: jasmine, orange blossom an idea of mimosa and carnation. All under the veil of incense.
It’s very sensual and enchanting, with a vintage nod, well balanced, never headache inducing. Deep and satisfying. It’s a pleasure to smell and get your dose; at least that’s what I had been doing the day I wore it. It lingers very well on the skin and better on clothes and hair. It won’t offend anyone around you.
It’s the spring in Easter time, it’s the scent of the orthodox church in Easter; Coco Noir almost had it, unfortunately it was more on the baroque side. OVDP is the church incense and the orange blossom blooming combination that I find very addictive.
Once I finish Classique, that is right now my orange blossom perfume rotating in my collection OVDP will take its place. And finally, don’t compare OVDP with its predecessor Opium 1978 or with Opium 2009 or any other Opium, because it stands alone, it doesn’t and it shouldn’t smell like the initial Opium, that’s not its purpose. I “understand” the general complain of the Opium 1978 fans, but this isn’t the reason to dismiss all Opium flankers. Keep asking YSL to bring back your original Opium. OVDP has nothing to do with your dissapointment.

I love those kinds of smells like Chanel no. 5 (in my case I prefer Eau Premiere), or Insolence by Guerlain…or this Opium…unfortunately non of my close people like it on me :)))
Maybe I am still too young for it(28)?
Well…ofcourse all the mentioned perfumes are unique and a bit different…from all of them Opium Vapeurs fits me probably the best…my boyfriend told me that I smell like his grandmother, but in his case it was not a bad reaction…he loves smell of his grandmother´s house and it reminds him of his most beautiful moments from childhood…he loves this fragrance on me but in the same time he cannot consider it sexy or romantic or anything like this cause it´s still connected with her :)She was a beautiful elegant and great woman…so definitely it is a compliment !! But I cannot wear it, as I will never smell like his girlfriend to him with this one…
Anyway if this perfume mixes with your chemistry good, it can be a great ellegant and even sexy scent. I know people who don´t react good with these kinds of perfumes and they really smell like old wardrobe then…it´s a perfume with a strong sillage, so definitely try it on your skin and see how it mixes…it can be very cold fragrance if you don´t react well together 🙂 but it can be very clean and lovefull one if you react good…and people will always remember you 🙂

Another review was necessary for this one
After receiving OVDP and not caring for it,I decided not to give up on it.I gave it several chances in the last few months and It literally has grown on me.or maybe my nose has learnt to appreciate it.other possibility is that it doesn’t like cold weather.when I first tried it,it was early fall but the weather was freezing cold.now it’s last month of winter, but the weather is spring-like.I feel it really blooms when my skin is warm
I’m still not fond of it’s opening.it opens soapy-fresh spicy.but it develops much faster than before and settles down to this classy, clean, sensual, refined scent.orange blossom is the star but it’s not sharp as it’s well rounded by balmy notes.now I can really smell benzoin and I’m so happy about it.It’s not too resinous, too spicy or too Smokey so there’s no need to worry if you’re not into very balsamic scents. It’s like a balsamic scent for beginners. It’s one of rare incense-prominent perfumes which I can get along with
Still my experience with this perfume seems to be different with most people.a lot of reviews mention it’s rich, sweet, spicy and a sillage monster on them.on me it opens like a peach-orange scented soap and settles down to a lovely, soft and clean orange flower-incense combo. I have and love JPG classique and the only thing that I find similar between them is orange flower.
It’s really difficult to believe that I didn’t like it before.now I love this clean floral scent with depth.longevity is very good.in my previous review,I wrote it’s sillage is very weak.well,it’s a soft scent and it stays close to skin but the good point is that unlike other nowadays fragrances that have very good sillage in first ten minute, then they’re so faint that one can barely smell them,OVTP doesn’t become faint soon.it keeps it’s soft to medium projection for hours
I wish it was stronger in sillage however being heavy and loud won’t fit it’s gentle character.for a sweet, spicy and rich orange flower scent I’d go for serge lutens fleur d’oranger, elie saab intense or even JPG classique essence, OVDP is a gentle, calm, clean, classy and sophisticated one

Was gifted this by the rep from L Oreal Lux the year it came out. At first I was not a huge fan, I was wearing the new reformed Opium, Aromatics Elixir or Shalimar at the time and could not appreciate the true depth of this stunning concoction.
Today after a week of wearing sweet white florals (White diamonds and Giorgio mostly) I decided to revisit some of the drier fumes in my wardrobe. This stuck out, standing tall on its shelf, a massive 125ml falcon. I decided to wear this for the evening and boy am I in love!
On me I get a very real zesty pink pepper note in the opening. Followed by abundant orange blossom lightly sweetened by jasmine resting on a warm base of incense and resin. Honestly stunning, this is an intimate scent lingering close to the body when worn sparingly. I sprayed quite a bit and was not overwhelmed at all, just enveloped in its warmth. I had this placed with my spring fragrances but have decided it’s would be spicy enough for cool weather.
Now that it’s discontinued here in Canada I’m very happy I have this in my collection. I don’t tend to enjoy orange blossom, it has become all too common in feminine French perfumes, but here it is tempered perfectly with the right amount of spice. Very enjoyable yet more akin to Belle de Opium then the original.

I have never worn Opium, not the original, nor any of the multitude of variations released since Opium launched in the late ‘70s…until now, until this fragrance.
When the original Opium was first released in Australia, and well into the ‘80’s, it was a hugely popular pervasive fragrance…that entire era smelled like YSL’s Opium. Back then, it brought to mind high powered, big shoulder-pad wielding vamps of the breaking variety. I was probably a little intimidated by it.
Reading the reviews here before I took the plunge, it appeared that some of the die hard fans of the original Opium are disappointed by this, and that could be why those who didn’t appreciate the original loved it.
I have to say I love this, I can’t believe reviews saying it has poor longevity…sprayed at 9pm, can smell it still at 9.18 am …12 hours wow. This is just the right amount of spice in a floral for me, although now I am tempted to revisit the original.
    Beautiful. Sexy, spicy, addictive, feminine.

Well,I went through a long way to put my hands on
a bottle of opium vapeurs which is strangely nowhere to be found where I live unlike the other opium family members specially black opium and it’s flankers which are pretty popular.to be honest I mostly wanted it for collecting reasons.I have belle d’opium, black opium and two of it’s flankers so I felt I need this one and the original opium in my collection..but this wasn’t my only reason to want OVTP so badly.I love orange blossom, amber, vanilla and benzoin.the only ones I don’t like in this pyramid are pink pepper and incense.Fortunately they don’t bother me here but Unfortunately the whole result is…meh, not bad.but not something I can say that I really like.I had very high hopes but it’s nothing like my imaginations.unlike my thoughts,it’s a light scent.I find it a great choice for office wear and formal meetings.it’s also not really sweet.I can easily detect Mandarin but not in it’s juicy form.on me it’s a dry scent, even sort of powdery-soapy and however I usually love powdery fragrances, it’s not the case here.I was looking forward to a balmy combination of creamy Jasmine and orange flower, juicy mandarin and sweet buttery vanilla with enough spicy and Smokey facets to make it even more delicious and seductive, what I got was an almost dry, almost soapy, almost light, almost woody scent of mentioned notes in a polite and even soulless way.it opens like a dry orange flavored soap and a dash of spices.later on spices calm down and I’m left with a clean orange flower and a touch of soapy Jasmine scent in a dry, woodsy base.not a bad smell by any means.but it doesn’t worth all that drama to find and buy it.finally after two hours it enters a phase which I like:orange flower in a warmer base.I still can’t call it creamy or balmy but I can see there’s a hint of amber there
whenever I see that pale colored bottle with frosted glass,I can just think of that it 100% fits the juice inside(by the way,I hate touching frosted bottles, wish it wasn’t frosted)
I’m still happy that there’s nothing for me to dislike here.thanks God incense doesn’t really show up on me.It’s there but is light.I can easily wear it whenever I want and it’s somehow classy, refined and wearable year round.longevity is very good.about 7,8 hours on skin but sillage is non existent.except it’s first minutes,it’s a skin scent
I wish to like it more gradually. maybe in an other time of year.however it’s early fall and it seems to be best time for opium vapeurs.maybe this one and belle de opium are simply not for me

I wasn’t quite ready for Opium, but I have Black Opium (love) and Belle D’Opium (like)… so I grabbed this one.
And I’m disappointed. It’s a nice scent/perfume, but it smells exactly like Guerlain Nerolia Bianca.
I get fresh happy orange blossom with OVdeP- and that’s about it. Off the top, I do get mandarin and pepper. And then just smooooooth sweet orange blossom. No base notes. And IMO the base is what would have set this apart from Nerolia Bianca. I NEED the nutmeg, incense, resins, amber and vanilla. 🙁
I find nothing Oriental or Spicy about OVdeP. 🙁 And the sillage/longevity is average.
Worth a re-try in diff weather. (Used on an average 70-80 degree summer day) It’s not a bad perfume at all… I just have smelled this before in my collection. So I’ll wait for diff weather and hope I get something deeper.
So guess who ordered Opium EDT now? This girl. Haha.

Very nice smell. Now this hot summer is very good for me. Reminds me of an old fragrance I loved young: Priscilla Pesley Indian Summer
In summer it does not have to be stronger. It’s just as good as it is

The celebration of feminity. I have tried it today. My next purchase for sure. This is exactly what I have been searching for long. The scent which is not girlish but not mature or serious, not too macsuline but not too sweet. It was launched in 2012? I didnt expect this kind of scent the flanker of Opium could be. Luxurious sophisticated feminine scent.

This dries down beautifully!! Wanted this for years, managed to get 50ml for £25 from allbeauty, beautiful! Has a vintage vibe without being old lady. Suitable for both day and night I’d say, hot and colder months just go a little easier with it in the heat. LOVE!

A fragrance is just not about the notes. It’s the bottled experience, memory, or the fantasy that makes them so special. That is what OPIUM Vapeurs De Parfum to me.
I grew up knowing a limited concept of beauty which media portrays in the late 90’s. Then I chanced upon this “diva” who changed all that. She’s a glamazon!!! Modelesque but not necessarily the model type. She stands tall not with towering heights but with an immense confidence much like how this fragrance stands on her own.
An ANDROGYNOUS BEAUTY: She is both soft and strong. She was dressed in an acqua green venus cut top with its delicate fabric draping beautifully on her which the Orange blossom embodies. She may be into the latest fashion but all I know is she has that flair for the dramatic; introducing EDGE to elegance for contrast. Just like Benzoin and Nutmeg, her Victoria Winters do sans the fringe works so well with her gold bindi creating a distinct look. INDIE as it was labelled at the time.
I never got to see her again after that but she’s definitely set a gold standard for me to call her my “heroine” besides my beautiful mother.
Wearing this just takes me back to that day where beauty is just simply how you define “You”!!!
    EXOTIC…SPICY…a must have!!!

I love opium but not this, I´ve tried it several times but this smells like after-shave of an older gentleman. I definitely think that this is better for men. I couldn´t wear this I feel like in a barbershop smelling this. There is something sharp and unpleasant.

If you can overcome the fact, that fragrances are now being marketed under brands that already have name recognition, such as Opium, and approach it from the perspective that this is a new scent, you’ll be able to appreciate this fragrance for what it is:
A poetic creation, by the MASTER perfumer that is Dominique Ropion.
Make no mistake: This delicate floriental has all the makings of a classic, were it not for the trap of it’s name: “Opium”.
I highly recommend you take the time to test this fragrance. Pay attention to how it transitions through it’s facets, from the bright peppery mandarin opening, through the dusk of it’s ultra-chic, contemporary interpretation of incense at the dry-down.
Also please read Cassiano’s brilliantly insightful review below.
    Sillage: moderate
    Longevity: 12 hours or more.
I have found a new favorite. If only my top shelf had more space!

This is a very nice floral, very elegant and tranquil. It doesn´t remind me of the original Opium though. When i first sniffed it in the bottle, it smelled much spicier than when i applied it to the skin. On me, i get almost no spice.
What can i say? it is nice but unengaging.

    FLORAL INCENSE
This is a strong white floral, yet a lot younger and fresher than the original opium. I’m not particularly fond of this one and it doesn’t stand out in my collection. Lasting power is ok, and sillage is good. Black Opium on the other hand – magic.

A watered-down version of Bvlgari Omnia Indian Garnet. Sandalwood and a whiff of orange. The only reason to prefer it is you don’t have to deal with opening the stupid Bvlgari flask. Not impressed.

The first Opium was released in 1977 and does not require presentations. It is a classic within the world perfumery, sold extensively, and has raised millions of dollars over the years. In 2009, it gained new official packaging, adapting itself to the current visual identity of the brand. The men’s version only came on the market in 1995.
Since its creation, Opium has already gained numerous variations ranging from summer editions to collector’s editions. In 2012, Opium Vapeurs de Parfum came to the market, but do not be surprised if you find references with the name Opium Légère because it is sold as Eau de Toilette Légère.
The chosen perfumer, although just a few know, was Dominique Ropion and the fragrance is classified as oriental-floral. Opium Vapeurs de Parfum has notes of mandarin and pink pepper, in the head, followed by jasmine and orange blossom, in the heart, on a base of incense, amber, nutmeg, vanilla and light woods.
This version came to the market with a lot of responsibility on its shoulders, since the promise of a brighter fragrance of the dreaded and powdery Opium, from four decades ago, left thousands of fans waiting for its release. And with such expectation, there was much (very much) frustration. Besides not finding the DNA of the original version in this fragrance, there is a lot of criticism about its name’s choice and the quality of the product itself. But the question I ask is: how long will people continue to believe that every flanker will be an innovative and faithful version of something that was successful one day?
All I can say is how the fragrance reacted on my skin. And I can assure that I loved how Opium Vapeurs de Parfum behaves on male skin. Basically, everything revolves around the orange blossom (with that effervescent facet that resembles cleansing product) and the incense, which confers the only powdery content that this scent has. And at this point, I can see – in a sense – a reminder of what the original Opium was, forty years ago. I can not give too much importance to the pink pepper, nor to the vanilla.
Another intriguing aspect is the sheer number of criticisms about its durability, since the fragrance lasted more than eight hours on my skin with only two sprays. Perhaps the secret is this: Opium Vapeurs de Parfum works better on men…I do not know. I only know that the final result is floral and musky, although it does not have musk in its composition, with the smell of a very well made soap, of those old and heavy (with about 200 grams) and of French origin. I really liked it!

    Win,win,win!!!!
Thanks to all the great reviews by my fellow Fragranticans I would call this one of my most successful blind buys ever!
    I LOVE this….
Yves Saint Laurent Opium Vapeurs was instant comfort for me. Like meeting up with a old friend you haven’t seen in ages, but within minutes it’s like you were never seperated. YSLOV slipped into my life just like that.
Within minutes of spraying it I was just perfectly comfortable with this perfume. Nothing edgy or sharp to make me cautious, I let my guard down and any reservations I may have had about YSLOV just flew out the window. I just let her slip into my life like a long lost, dear friend.
I adore the Orange Flower and sweet Sambac Jasmine that I first recognize after applying.
The perfect sprinkle of Pepper gives her a a noticeable, spicy depth while the Mandarin gives YSLOV the perfect touch of uplifting zest.
The incense is perfectly done, it does not overpower but does add a bit of mystery, dimension and allure.
The resins and Amber are masterfully mixed and ground YSLOV giving her a very earthy, natural punctuation.
I find everything about YSLOV just EASY if that makes sense. YSLOV slipped right in easily to my life, it’s easy to wear and very easy to fall in love with.
Speaking of love…the bottle is beautiful, the color of the perfume is beautiful and thus far my entire experience with YSLOV has been beautiful which I love.
This perfume is not limited to a season in my opinion and will wear well all year.
I think it is perfect for daytime use and exquisite for evenings.
Although subtle or intimate in its nature, YSLOV packs a bit of a punch without knocking you out.
The notes in YSLOV are finely woven, it is a Sublime and Ethereal fragrance.
YSLOV is my new best friend, who wears like a long lost, and now reunited dear friend.
Perfect throw, as I get to enjoy this one, but not at all intrusive to others.
    Sillage is better than average.
Like I said above, Easy is a description that just fits this sexy, gorgeous perfume.

Pretty perfume. Smells a lot like JPG Classique. I was actually surprised how much so. Later, on the dry down, it developed into a completely different sent. I like it, but I don’t know if I’ll be purchasing a full bottle. However, it may be a nice, softer option for me as sometimes I find Classique too harsh.

It’s an absolutely gorgeous perfume, in an absolutely gorgeous bottle, and it’s the most absolutely gorgeous colour!!!! Soft, sweet, feminine and perfect!!! Just like the perfume. Absolute perfection – heaven. Totally sublime!!!!

The drydown is to die for: the softest and creamiest nag champa ever, over a beautiful orange blossom.
First blast is a load of pink pepper, unfortunately, but you also get Coca Cola, Ginger, and orange spiced tea. YUM.
It sparkles for the first half hour or so, which is why it reads soda to me… it’s amazing. And that drydown is the bee’s knees.

Although I personally think no flanker can exceed in this case the original, this ” evaporation ” I like so much.
The perfume description describes perfectly the scent. Longevity is impressive as this should be edt legere, and projection also is so good.Certainly for warmer days, especially spring.
But one is Opium, and as such is no longer produced, unfortunately.

The most divine perfume!!! Beautiful, heavenly, superb. I love Opium Vapeurs de Parfum by Yves Saint Laurent, it’s so gorgeous!!! And SUCH a beautiful colour – so fem – i – nine!!!! Ladylike and elegant like the perfume. So soft and pretty, like the perfume!!! It’s a wonderful wonderful delicious mandarine….the beautiful warmth and rosy fragrance of the pink pepper, the gorgeous sweet jasmine and orange flower, and the stunning base notes – so many of my favourite notes: patchouli, benzoin, vanilla, incense, nutmeg, amber and lovely woods – all so rich, creamy and deliciously spicy. The combination of all the notes, which are so beautifully blended, is superb. It’s such a soft, gentle yet rich and sensual perfume – very light, luminous, and comforting. It’s like a soft, downy blanket that you’re all snugged up in, feeling loved and cared for. It’s so beautiful. And has really good longevity and sillage – at least 12 hours, and a couple of feet. It wafts gently through the air around me, and garners me lots of compliments. It’s a dream.

I never particularly liked orange blossom note but this perfume is so well composed around it I can’t get enough. Warm and feminine with a hint of sweetness that is not cloying. A full bottle will be mine. Soon. 🙂
Edit: Eight months later, I finally have the full bottle of this gorgeous juice. I have to admit the opening is a little bit harsh, almost too sour and pickle-ish on me, but after 5 minutes or so it calms down to creamy, soft yet strong concoction of orange blossom, incense and spices. It brings up thoughts of a Mediterranean holiday in a white sundress. Even though I think this is a very feminine fragrance, strangely enough I can very well imagine it also on a man. I think it might be because of the woodsy base notes. Love!

This is absolutely heaven in a bottle , it’s floral and spicy with lotsa mandarin mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I love love love this it’s amazing this is star perfume done right , I have no idea how anyone can dislike this its STUNNING and fresh fresh fresh , sparkling, yet still orange and light spice, soapy in a nice way, it’s a shame it’s not in an edp , but this is my favourite summer juice.
9/10 on this , would have had 11 if it just stayed a bit longer. Truth is , if you pick it up at a reasonable price , u can just pop more on during day it’s a pleasure this one to spray again 🙂
    Lorvvvve it !
i actually finished this , it needs replacing so it must be love love love … 🙂

Haha! This is a happy fragrance. It seems as though the smoky orange notes should produce a somber feel but they are playful and ethereal.
A tad candyish but veers more toward the sweetness of plant. The fragrance lasted a good 7 hours on my skin in the spring unlike some others reports of a short lived scent. I think this opium is just suited to me because I do tend to have longevity issues with quite a few fragrances.
Please do test as it may be cloying for you, I dont find this but I cant get enough of the scent.

Wow – this is gorgeous!!! Beautiful floral, with my beloved patchouli adding an earthy zest, delicious orange and the enticing pink pepper’s rosy smell; and incense melting it’s gorgeous sweet woody aroma through everything. It’s divine. Rich and beautifully blended. Very calming and comforting perfume. Yum!!!

Similar to ARMANI CODE LUNA (perhaps including a touch of KARMA BY LUSH minus the strong medicinal patchouli).
Cosy, warm, sweet, fizzy, water soluble (orange flavored) vitamin C tablets.
Lasts all day. I enjoyed a lovely snooze while donning this soothing scent.
EDIT – I just checked the base of both my Opium Vapeurs de Parfum and my Armani Code Luna to find that both state “LLC New York”, and both were released in 2012. I’m pretty sure they’re almost the exact same scent.
EDIT X2 – my review was based on a reformulation of this scent. I have since been lucky enough to find an original tester bottle from the release of the original formulation and the scent is (was…) beautiful as it was initially intended. I may write a review for the original but what’s the point if it no longer smells that good?
    Shame on you, YSL.

Wow this seriously smells Devine! I’m usually not into very floral perfumes but this is balanced so well with the other notes! The mix of white flowers, orange, incense, and patch makes it feel powdery with a pinch of ever so sweet deliciousness! I’m hooked! I was happy to add this into my selection but for the first time in a long time I’m thinking it will be my signature scent!

Total miss for me. Just a little smoky and powdery, but very weak. After an hour or so, it is gone. Just not detectable. 🙁

OMG, THIS is totally AMAZING. One of a kind. Love it. Got a sample, and am ready to run out and buy the first bottle I see. Elegant, and reeks of a sophisticated lady.

sweet airy spicy orange blossom. Not heavy but still a statement scent. Absolutely gorgeous. Somewhat in the vein to Coco mad minus the sharp patch and sweatiness. This is wonderful………….

I agree with the previous review… White flowers and incense. This fragrance is a funky one, and it is difficult to make out individual notes until a couple hours after the drydown. I think
