I like very much tobacco note in perfumes. I hoped I finally found the dreamed perfume! I especially blind bought it for the tobacco note… which I can’t detect in it. I only detect a strong lavender note in the opening, then the sage note drydown-ing in an animalic touch of a musky-ambery note, strangely missing in description. No tobacco at all! It’s strange that people on fragrantica chosen the tobacco note as primary note.
A dissonant perfume, with dissonant notes, but with a pleasant drydown. Nothing smells synthetic in it and considering the low price it becomes attractive for buying, but don’t expect… “the unexpected”.
It’s long (but discreet) lasting, with a moderate (to weak) sillage.
From my point of view the general rating for this one is 7-7.5/10.

… just received 3 bottles … a spay on my daughter´s hand to try … 2 hours ago … still present on MY nose after having smelled the thing … fantastic presence from a single spray on someone´s hand briefly smelled … great smell , had the Open years ago and this one has close resemblance , perhaps with more patchouli , and more balsamic … to hot now ( 35 ) for use , specially in day time … great buy …

A more potent and powerful cousin of Chanel Antaeus , before re formulation i mean . Dark , mossy Open Black is a classy and sultry fragrance . A white shirt , a black leather jacket ..a dark tie ( maybe ) or a navy blue suit and yes ..the deal is done and this fragrance will do the rest .

Better late than never and thanks for adding to the database. Although this is listed as being launched in 2013, I definitely saw this one in the Middle East in mid-2012.

Black is black is….more of the same. Nothing exceptional about this. For true man-scent worship, upgrade to L’homme, Roger & Gallet’s masterpiece man-juice!
