Description

After the edition One Man Show Gold Edition launched in 2011, another successor of One Man Show from 1980 arrives from the house of Jacques Bogart. A strong red bottle brings us fragrance for men One Man Show Ruby Edition which puts masculine woody notes accompanied with a warm oriental veil in the first plan.

The composition of One Man Show Ruby Edition opens with tart and refreshing notes of orange leaves, aromatic frozen lavender and green apple announcing a warm, mysterious heart full of shades of intense saffron, incense and labdanum. The base is deep and warm, created of oud, red cedar and honey. Perfume One Man Show Ruby Edition is constructed as fougere-woody-oriental.

The strong red flacon made of glass with a black cap and tag shaped like the above antecedents, hides the edition for men One Man Show Ruby Edition arriving as 100 ml EDT. It was presented in 2013.

This scent is extremely sweet, sickly nauseatingly sweet. Like the red cedar is oozing synthetic honey from every split in it’s bark. The honey is intoxicating straining your sinuses no matter how you try you cannot find any subtle nuances. The whole afternoon I wore this my head pounded. It’s too synthetic and sweet for me I like woody scents but not those bursting with alien honey. Funnily enough my work colleagues wife loved it and so the 80’s bottle has a home, I wish it all the best and if we meet again I hope it is a cold day.

It’s like they took the cherry smell from Jacques Bogart Pour Homme and bottled it. Very good stuff and I am not a fan of Bogart Pour Homme but I love this one. Now I do however highly respect Bogart Pour Homme for what it is but my first formula bottle does not get much use ‘RUBY’ however gets alot of use and I even have a backup bottle, not for everyone though if you don’t like sweet with an odd incense tinge in the background. There is so much litter and trash out there in the fragrance world, from the flanker releases that just suck, to everybody and their grandma trying to do youtoob reviews talking about the same stuff over and over again, best panty dropper, top 10, most complimented, blah blah blah, it’s getting boring, it has become NERDWORLD! Thankfully there is stuff like this that just cuts through the bs and is just damn good.

Powerful juice. Dry down is the best bit. Very sweet with honey, fruits, herbs and woods. A touch animalistic too, a bit like Kouros with sweet fruits.. A heavy and long lasting perfume but a lovely one.

There is a kind of frosty quality, at least at first, which is interesting, unique, and pleasant. I don’t get too much lavender, thankfully, nor does it smell obviously “synthetic” or “chemical” to me. I don’t detect the usual chemical monstrosities (as I think of them), such as iso e super and calone, nor is it too sweet for me. At first, I get a lot of leather, actually, reminiscent of Shades Wood, but then it goes in a somewhat different direction. The fruit is not fresh or literal, but blended into a kind of stew effect. The incense is there but never becomes dominant, and this certainly isn’t a “juvenile” scent. In fact, I definitely think of it as “budget niche.” If you like heavy orientals, this might be worth a blind buy at these low prices, so long as you don’t require great top notes (I tried to avoid them as much as possible with this scent). I wouldn’t wear it in warm or hot weather, though, and if you are the “wow, this is so fresh – I love it!” type of person, you’ll likely call this a terrible stink (though it’s not animalic and I don’t get any oud either).
UPDATE: After several hours I do get what I perceive as an oud note, but I never got the honey (for example, as one finds in Euphoria Gold for Men).

I like the whole One Man Show line and Ruby Edition is no different. It’s sort of in between other sweet Bogarts like Gold Edition and Silver Scent and the Oud Edition – very sweet, woody incense scent.
    Projection and longevity are strong.

Man,this is a fragrance!OMSR is following the trend of the last sweet-masculine Bogart scents, but thank God there are no Tonka beans, cardamom or nutmeg in it!Really sick of this overusage of this notes!Anyway, sweet but with skank too!STRONG honey, masculine Oud,spicy saffron and nose-catching incense are given to us for a very long pleasure!Enjoy this new blend, there are so few in the designer world of today!

    Performance:
2/3 Hrs. Projection. Good for the first 2 hours then by the 3rd you need to be up close to smell it. Very similar to all the other Bogarts I tried.
By the 4th/5th hour is not noticeable even on clothing.
    * Disappointing considering the reviews BUT my recent purchase of a Gucci fragrance was worse….for $90 ! I purchased RUBY for $13.53 with shipping included and it performed better than what I bought at Macy’s.
    Smell :
Spicy and Sweet. I get just a little skank in this just at the beginning so that is probably the oud, However the oud isn’t noticeable otherwise to me. Honey and spice, that’s what I get.
It is a sophisticated mature smell. It has an international flare to it which I appreciate.
    Replacement for Lapidus Vintage ?
NO. Where do people get the idea that this smells like TL Vintage ? Way Off.
    Conclusion :
For $13.53 I am not complaining and I can see why people like this fragrance, I do as well. The performance however isn’t good enough for me. Notice how I didn’t say it was horrible. It’s just that a low projecting fragrance is an awful tease for me. I need more than that.
Bogart has some good smelling fragrances. I have tried several of them but the performance issues keep me from re-buying them.
By the way before I purchased this bottle I made sure to :
    1. Visit my Ear Nose and Throat Doctor to make sure I wasn’t anosmic.
    2. I drank a lot of water
    3. I fully hydrated my skin with no scent body lotion
    4. Wore a cotton t-shirt RIGHT AFTER I sprayed so it would soak up the juice.
    5. Made sure to read and re-read fragrantica reviews.
    Update:
I now own 3 bottles of this juice. This is seriously nice ! Can’t beat the price. For that reason alone I assume it will be discontinued 🙂
I would like to “update” the performance if I may.
2-3 hrs. very good performance on *skin. PLUS another 4-5 hours of gentle wafting coming from clothing. Highly Respectable in this day and age !

This one is so good. A true oud and honey combination in a delighted way. Dry down leaves a long lasting sweet trail.
    Very impressive and manly.

This isn’t a bad fragrance, but I don’t consider it good and wouldnt recommend it. This smells on the cheap side of things to me and it smells mature. Too mature for me. It smells like something a 60 to 70 year old would wear that looks and feels old. I keep smelling my arm, it has a scent cloud for sure but, it’s just eh… Wouldn’t recommend. I will give it away when I review it on my upcoming Youtube Channel. I rate it a 4 out of 5. Heres to smelling good!

Beastmode of the Gods; I can’t even smell my own farts let alone anyone else’s through the regal veil this scent produces! Intensely warm with spices that remind me of mulled wine, perfect for winter I can imagine. Synthetic oud note wraps up the composition with much grit. Going berserk on the trigger is ill-advised as this one has the potential to become a real headache juice.
    Highly recommended.

Amazing Scent!! It’s in my top 3 fragrances!

Gorgeous scent. So much better than OMS Gold Edition which I liked but women in my life found to have a horrible musky cat piss dry down. Ruby Edition on the other hand is much different. At the top they do share similar DNA maybe 25% or so. But when Gold turns a pissy musk, the Ruby gets even better with its lovely fruit, oud and a touch of honey and incense. The only problem is the Ruby Edition is hard to get in the U.S. I had to order my bottle on ebay shipped from Israel… total cost $38 with shipping and took just 14 days to arrive. I’m really happy I added OMS Ruby Edition to my collection for my winter rotation. It’s very unique, uber-masculine and pure class.

  15. :

Stunning. Probably my all-time favorite. What a terrific fragrance! OMS Ruby Edition does state on the packaging that this is highly concentrated, they’re not exaggerating. The opening is a blast of green apples interlaced with spices and a nice honey-oud combo base. Sweet and spicy, this is a classy scent, better suited to the 30+ age group who appreciate quality.

I tried this one today and I feel in love. I need to buy a bottle of this heavenly juice. I bet I have smelled something similar before but I can’t put my finger on.
Excellent sweet scent blended with Oud and apple giving it a fruity vibe.

A real powerhouse. Very sweet, heavy, potent and fruity. Similar to OMS Gold but more fruit. Lasts and projects a very long time. If you don’t use too much, it’s lovely.

A true powerhouse with an interesting evolution. The opening notes yell at your face but the drydown is warm, gently and pleasant, like an old man, in a sunday afternoon, wearing a cardigan and telling stories from the time he was young.
The backbone here is oud, honey and incense, which makes it a dark scent, despite of levender and orange leaf. Not for lads, definitely.
There are another better oud-based fragrances out there, but they usually are way more expensive. If you are looking into it, maybe this is a good starting point.

For me it’s a smell of Agaroud and Incense on top, with a sweet nuance on background(I don’t have detected a honey smell but a candy smell). Really powerful and intoxicating; after of the first hour some nuance of flower comes very slightly, but always in background. Oud, Incense and sweet smell always in first place through the dry down, powerful longevity. It’s a fragrance for mature men and in formal situations. Being a very strong fragrance, it may bother some people. I think that you can deal with it spraying more, or less. If the night is hot, in a small hall or room, with few people, you might use less. In winter nights so cold, or open places near the sea, or snow nights, you can use a little more. In my land the weather is usually hot. Be careful. Don’t buy it, if you don’t have tried before!!!

Bogart makes the best fragrances. Ultra strong long lasting scent. This one works great in the summer season. It’s a flowery fresh scent. In my eyes it’s not that sweet. I use Ruby and Arabian Nights. Only the best is good enough.

I managed to get this juice right before the price skyrocketed, and I’m happy I did just in case I need to ever need to clear a room with my scent. Seriously, this is easily the most powerful fragrance in my collection which contains several powerhouses. The projection and longevity is so nuclear that I still haven’t been able to think of a practical scenario in which to wear this. The scent itself is nice and has a lot of notes common with Middle Eastern frags. OMS Ruby Edition is very sweet with honeyed, fruity, synthetic oud accords. Pick this up if you are craving a sweet nuclear blast of fragrance.
Performance: 10/10 – If my rating scale went up to 100, this would get 100/100. An absolute bomb of a fragrance.
Overall Scent: 7/10 – This smells quite nice, although not amazing. There are better scents from Bogart for less money (Bogart Pour Homme and Silver Scent Intense both spring to mind). Don’t purchase if you don’t like sweet powerhouses.

Sweetly Incensed Red as the Bottle and i have to say, the first word which comes to my mind is Romantic. a Scent that Reminds something which is out of this era. on the incense side it is more pleasant and Romantic than Joop! which my first impression is the scent of Cremation of Human flash. while this one feels like the smoke of a Persian Harem Lady smoking Hookah. i found it priced at less than 20$ snatched two bottles. and if it continues like that, i feel i am going to be using this long lasting and very present scent as one of my favorite ones. first impression is best impression, and this one had a really successful one.
*Should Have been Named: “Hypnotic Poison”

Smells like the incense-saturated room of my grandmother & that’s not a bad smell at all!
My grandmother burns incense about 2-6 times per week since before my brain could form memories!
The furniture of her room is saturated with incense plus something else I can not identify. Now I think it’s honey.
OMS Ruby, simplified, is honey + incense.
Surprisingly, for such a low price, OMS Ruby is long lasting & projecting well. Don’t over apply it as it might become annoying & even nauseating.
This is definitely a mature smell.

It is my pleasure to announce that this is a modern cologne.
smooth sweet aoud with plastic green apple note.
The Apple dies down a bit and the oud and saffron plays heavy role.
I don’t get honey. I get very sweet note but doesn’t smell like honey to me.
Sadly, the quality is lacking in the dry down. Yea it smells amazing but in the dry down the cologne becomes a chemical mess on my skin. Turns spicy kind of body odour smell. Even on clothes.
    The presentation is nice.
Performs well but no beast mode.
It does carry the bogart intense pour homme dna.
Can be used in summer if sprayed lightly. Since the green apple note is refreshing.
    It very reasonably priced.
Hard to find an occasion for me. Plenty others that play the winter olymlics better than this.

I had purchase this fragrance at a very good price. Was a blind buy based in these reviews. I was lucky. An excellent choice for those who want to go away from common and trendy brands.
The honey is always there, mixed with a spicy heart with a little hint of inciense and a floral base that turn into a little bit woody in the drydown.
    Lasts about 8 hours.
The sillage is great, but for some people could be too much.
    I give it 8.5 of 10 points.

Ok, so I had the chance to sample this in the midst of checking out a number of oud fragrances today. (Sampling oud fragrances in the shopping malls of Dubai is becoming a bit of a distraction for me.)
Just one spray of this on the hand and I was met with such a massive assault of synthetic sweetened oud, run through with very heavy incense. Or something like incense. The first few minutes are very disconcerting. It felt to me like some massive, almost paint-like fragrance had landed on my skin, and I started to have concerns about what type of soap I could possibly use to wash it off. Really it’s that strong…
After about three hours – during which time there was an intense smell of smoke at one point – it does settle down into something more tolerable, even possibly pleasant.
However, all things considered, why wait for three hours to reach a point that could be evident after a half hour drydown into another fragrance? Seriously, Bogart might just have something on their hands – so to speak – if they dropped their dedication to having radioactive-like longevity….

Totally get dior fahrenheit absolute vibe. This is a lot more pungent like most Bogarts and goes in a clean direction rather than dirty. For the price it’s a great addition for when you feel loud and confident that you don’t care if you knock out a room full with 2 sprays. This is BEAST for projection and stays all day and night. Just as well as I never get tired of it even though its mostly the same before it disappears finally. Very very manly

As RobbieX says – some crossover with OMS Gold but with Saffron & Oud coming through strongly in the mix. Shares the same dry, woody base with Gold and the expected monster Jacques Bogart projection & longevity – easily 12hrs+ and longer on clothing! Very dense, rich, oriental fragrance with a sweet edge – very nice!
