Description

Tom Ford is launching a women’s fragrance as a pair to the edition for men Tom Ford Noir from 2012, which received successors Noir Eau de Toilette from 2013 and Noir Extreme from 2015. The new composition aimed at women “maintains the fascinating paradox of Tom Ford woman in the seductive oriental-floral fragrance which is both sensual and extravagant,” says Tom Ford.

Its black, opaque bottle is characteristic for is narrow relief creases, created to follow the style of numerous Tom Ford collection editions, but it brings us a completely new shape. The golden color stopper follows its dimensions and form, and is also of characteristic design. On the official website of Tom Ford brand, the new edition for women was presented without much description or composition notes, but it offers purchase of 30 ml EDP. By doing so Tom Ford intrigues his fans even more!

The advertising campaign is signed by fashion photographers Inez & Vinoodh (Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin). The advertising face of the new fragrance TOM FORD NOIR POUR FEMME is model Lara Stone.

The nose behind this fragrance is Sonia Constant.

This is a nice fragrance and it lasts several hours on fabric. It is rather sweet and not terribly spicy or complex to my senses ( personally) . I like it .
I will not purchase because :
It is worn by so many others around me and I often prefer something that the crowd is not chasing . I can see why others like this scent and purchase it .
It reminds me a bit of Armani Code with more spice , though my nose is not as accurate as some others here. We make choices on scents because they move us at some level and resonate with our inner selves . This one does not call my name, but it is a good and lasting perfume.

I had high expectations, but didn’t like this one. I have a 1 oz bottle for swap. PM me.

The black bottle says, “this scent is serious and sultry, get ready.” But it’s a misleading “cover,” because NOIR isn’t in your face or over the top. It’s not hot sexy date night, as I’d expect. Totally harmless. If it were a color, it would be brown, not pink, in terms of sweetness. It’s a warm scent, but I’m not obsessed. Along the lines of Dior Addict, but not as good, missing the complexity. It’s quiet, not bold. Subtle not powerhouse.

A chemical concoction that smells like toilet cleaner on me. Sharp chemicals and lasts forever, in fact barely fades. It was a blind buy from a department store on the basis that black orchid smells good on me
(not my typical MO) Im happy to say that I sold my bottle, Strangely the person I sold it to said it was a lovely smell but very faint???!!! Try before you buy!!!

A lovely sandalwood & vanilla scent. Sweet and warm. Not for me, though. A little too safe, too feminine, and not even remotely noir. I’d love to smell it on others. I’ll stick with Noir de Noir & Plum Japonais.
    Edit: My mom loves it!

The SA at Sephora made me a sample of this yesterday, and I like as much as every other Tom Ford I’ve tried. Wearing it today because it’s rainy and a little bit cooler temps. Very nice, and strong. Can’t wait to see what it does throughout the day.
Update: I expected better performance, but this really did tone down and sit close to my skin after an hour or two. I don’t mind that necessarily, with this one.
Beautiful fragrance, but if you’re expecting huge projection, you may be disappointed by Noir Pour Femme. It becomes somewhat subtle after awhile.

I do imagine this on lady with smoky eyes , red tight dress under knees and matte lipstick .
this is soo gourmand spice scent with long lasting and high silage scent .
it will be my first choice to pick in night party , wedding , event .
Make sure you will be 100% different and noticeable .

I just got it today from Dubai ,i sprayed it at 11:30 am now it’s 5 pm and it still projects very well
The first spray is not so pleasant ,after an hour i started to smell something veryyyyyyyyyy nice i didn’t notice that it was it until someone asked me that i smelled good then i realized it was it (i sprayed only on spray on my left hand) it’s really different i love it

I really wanted to love this. I mean, I was about to blind-buy a huge bottle because of all the positive reviews on the internet, but I decided to go with a sample (3 decants, actually) and I’m so glad I didn’t waste my money over a fb. I get the same nauseating vibe I found in Black Orchid. I love sweet perfumes, and I’m a true gourmand lover, but there’s something in this TF sweetness I just can’t stand. Really sorry, I’d love to have a TF bottle in my collection. Please, tell me Tobacco Vanille is completely different from NpF or Black Orchid!

A very lovely perfume that reminds me of a softer Chergui with lots of vanilla minus the richness of tobacco and that smoky haze. This is the scent of a woman;alluring, self-assured and feeling damn sexy! Chergui on the other hand is clearly unisex,in fact I think it smells better on a man than a woman. Just my opinion. I’ve worn Chergui and enjoyed it, however at times it felt too rich for me and I love those kinds of scents on a man. I plan to purchase this very soon because wearing my sample today I feel pretty darn sexy! Oh, and lasting power is above average on me. I get about 5 hours. Sillage is polite and I get wafts here and there that seem to stay within my personal bubble. Over spray and this might be a while different beast. But I go light and it’s perfect for me.

Oooh. Yes! Yes!! Yesssssss!! Just received a bottle of this that I purchased as a bday gift for myself. I am intoxicated, a 54 year old femme fatale, a seductress beckoning pursuers to come closer if they dare!! My god this is beautiful and sexy as hell! It is the floriental I have been searching for for so long. My description of the notes and the composition would never do it justice. All I know is that I feel powerful, sexy, and 100% like a woman. This is full bottle worthy and then some, and while it may not be considered appropriate for all seasons and situations, this is a strong contender for a signature scent if I had to choose one.

it’s so dense and strong it completely burns my receptors after the initial explosion of sweetness with a certain cold and sharp undertone. can’t say what it is but i felt it with black orchid as well. at moments it feels like mint leaf only a hundred times stronger. i just got it today as a gift from a friend, and after trying it on a few times i still can’t make up my mind if i love it or hate it… i love the smell of it but it’s just coming on too strong in a very strange way.. it’s not suffocating but it creates such an unbareable headache. it lasts for about a half an hour and after that the scent becomes detectable only if i inhale really deep next to my skin. very strange.. i wonder if i’m becoming anosmic to it as someone mentioned in the comments below.
i’ll try to adapt to this fragrance because it is worth it, allthough i have to say i would expect more from tom ford.. it smells kind of too familiar. like d&g the one – desire.. one of those mainstream cocoa, caramel, spicy things.. kind of generic. but i will give my nose some more time to process this one.

    Pure Bliss Perfume for me!!
Story Time : Being a perfume obsessessee that i am, every time i went to Sephora (often), i would never forget to pass by the Tom Ford counter and spritz some Noir on my wrists before i left the store. I could never bring myself to buying this perfume as it was too expensive! On one of my Sephora journey i was just lustfully checking out TF Noir as usual and this SA kindly walks up to me and goes ” You really like that don’t you” . She was really sweet and gave me a free vial of this perfume. I was one happy child.
Recently while i was at dutyfree and i was looking to buy Lancome Cest lavie ae-belle — and i was still over the fence about it..i spotted TF Noir and i jumped for it. Not only that; i bought the couple version of this perfume – TF Noir Extreme for Men and TF Noir Pour Femme for myself.
Its SEX-HEAVEN !! Its not powdery at all and has the most encapsulating vanilla and musk – so beautiful and so gourmand. By far the most sexiest smells that i own!
P.S : lancome la vie est belle is the original name however everytime i think of it i remember it as Lancome Cest Lavie Ae-Belle .. I dont know why tho !

I’m 32. The last time a fragrance hit me (almost) this hard was Gucci Rush and I was 16. I smelled Rush on a gf’s scarf and knew that was a ride or die relationship. Rush has changed throughout the years and doesn’t hold that magick anymore. I’ve been searching for years to find something that’s ‘me’ again. I have a pretty large wardrobe – over a hundred. This is thick, haunting, complement getter, out of this world sexy and intoxicating. I adore it.

  15. :

    4 out of 5

In the same ballpark as Dior Addict EDP. The Dior is intoxicating, and so is this. Can’t lose with either but beware of the overlap.

  16. :

I remember smelling this and Noir Extreme for men and preferring the Extreme. Has more oomph.
Update: I just bought Noir pour Femme today and after comparing the two on skin, I prefer the femme. It’s sweeter.

  17. :

I strongly agree that this is indeed one of Tom Ford’s sexier scents for women. For some unbeknownst reason Noir Pour Femme was never on my radar. I suppose it’s easy to forget the mainstream line of Tom Ford fragrances when the Private Blend line steals much of the limelight.
Noir Pour Femme is not as heavy as I expected it to be. On the skin, this fragrance is relatively unobtrusive and intimate. It’s the kind of fragrance that you would wear either for yourself or those very close to you such as family members or your romantic partner.
To my nose Noir Pour Femme is a sensual blend of amber, sandalwood, boozy vanilla and mastic. From time to time I catch subtle wafts of red roses, but for the most part, this composition is an ambery-vanilla.
If you enjoy scents such as Annick Goutal’s Ambre Fetiche, Tom Ford’s Tobacco Vanille or Jo Malone’s Myrrh & Tonka, you’ll most likely enjoy this brooding fragrance as well. This fragrance genre is right up my alley, however, I’d be lying if I didn’t say I wish it were a tad stronger and longer lasting.
I adore Tom Ford’s heavy hitters like White Patchouli and Tobacco Vanille. If the reviews are correct and Noir Pour Femme does indeed smell like a copy of the men’s flanker, Noir Extreme, (also by Tom Ford), I would happily buy the masculine alternative, as an extreme version appeals to me more.

  18. :

Gwen, you probably are anosmic to something in it, probably in the midnotes (perhaps the kulfi, or even the lentisque). You feel the top notes but following them there is something that is too overwhelming for your nose and then the receptors are shut down to minimize the smelling.Something like this happened to me with CK Euphoria, I love the top notes, especially the pomegranate, in the 30 minute mark I stop feeling anything for hours then can smell again the woody dry down. Sometimes the anosmia can lift if you try to get used to the perfume, spraying the smallest spray possible weekly, sometimes it doesn’t .Anosmia is something that happens to most of us, so don’t worry.

  19. :

I agree with Alisaaa131, this perfume is overhyped, I was silly and got it blind a year ago and was a big regret for me I find it boring non descript sweetness, I think Black Orchid still the best followed by Plum Japonais.

  20. :

Well, if Gingy existed, it would smell like this fragrance. Noir Pour Femme is gourmand heaven made of delicate dark gingerbread, white chocolate, sweet cinnamon, candied orange peel & ginger, condensed milk & piquant cardamom. And I´m a bit afraid that Gingy started smoking – because I can also smell sweet tobacco. And I dare say it´s undeniably sexy.

  21. :

I see the reviews and how they make this fragrance sound so complex and wonderful, then I try it on and it’s a completely different story..
I tried it a couple of times in the winter but it was a very simple, dark vanilla on me from beginning to end. I couldn’t see what the hype was as it only lasts 3 hours on me.
I guess it was my chemistry, Black Orchid will remain my favorite Tom Ford fragrance for now.

  22. :

    5 out of 5

Warm, creamy, smoldering. I love this one. I tested this in the store while out shopping with a friend, and when I got back in the car, she commented on how perfectly the fragrance suited me. “Musky vanilla” is how she described it, although I think the musk she was describing was actually the amber/sandalwood combination that keeps the vanilla from being too sweet. The kulfi gives the whole thing a delicious creaminess that isn’t quite lactonic. It’s very easy to wear and I can’t imagine offending anyone with this as long as you go easy on how much you apply. This stuff is powerful, so more than 2 sprays for me becomes stifling.
Did I mention I love this perfume?

  23. :

    3 out of 5

Dark, smokey and a bit savory. Nice fragrance, but didn‘t really impressed me. To me, it smells very much like Black Orchid. The difference is that, ironically, Black Orchid was more „noir“ than this one, and sweeter and stronger.
Sillage is disappointing in this one.
    Note: 7

  24. :

combination sharp citrus & spice made it like classic masculine fragrance just in start. After few minutes dark but weak Rose will appear that mix with strong Kulfi (indian dessert = vanilla, milky, creamy). I really like this smell. Continue by lovely resin-amber odor till end. I think that tom ford noir is very sexy, hot, seductive and also elegant & lush. It was made for shinning at the night party as a star. I disagree with some body that recognize it as unisex scent. Good Longevity & moderate sillage. But If you use it on your clothes, will have better result.

  25. :

    I love this perfume.
This is so relaxing, soft and elegant.
It is not aggressive or in your face. It is for the woman who cares for those around her, who doesn’t live to prove a point.
Steer away from this is if you are out clubbing or wanting attention, this is not for you.

TFPF is something that you just cannot live without. it is your staple vanilla/sweet/mature scent. It is a date night scent. It is a luncheon scent. It is a business meeting scent. It is a party scent. It is very versatile.
Vanilla, Kulfi and ginger are all decipherable to me. It becomes vanilla and powerdery after a bit.
This makes me feel sexy and smoldering sexy at that. The lonevity and sillage are fantastic (as are for all TF scents).
Another one of my fav scents. As a side note…Nothing to do with the brand but all of the TF scents are within the top 10 of my favs.

This reminds me of cocoa powder. I have never received a compliment when I wear this perfume. I have a one ounce bottle and I want to love it and use it up but I just can’t. It also doesn’t last on me. I see so many reviews of people saying it has amazing staying power, not for me! But the smell is quite beautiful

  28. :

    3 out of 5

This one is a little bit mysterious, this isn’t noir by any mean, the ginger note is the most note I got from this fragrance, it’s fuzzy balsamic and maybe ambery or maybe this what i got from the sandalwood I’m not sure! It is a little bit sweet and has the vanilla note!
I have to admit I have nothing in my collection the same, it’s unique and when somebody wears it and enters the room he/she makes everybody else passes him/her wants to turn around and see who is that!
It’s not cozy, but suits special occasions, night out and official events
The longevity and sillage are moderate

Fragrance -Noir Pour Femme Tom Ford
    Bottle from – 2015
This is a delicious, warm, complex, rich and gourmand scent from the beginning till the end,but never too sweet. The sweetness is well balanced with a citrus notes, spices, flowers, resins and sandalwood.I can detect a nice touch of patchouli and a wisper of tobacco and chocolate, but it’s not listed in the notes.
For some reason,Noir Pour Femme reminds me of a desirable, elegant, seductive and mysteriously attractive woman at New Year’s Eve Party every man wants. It is very similar to Noir Extreme for man by Tom Ford.
    Longevity – 7/10(7+ hours)
Silage/Projection – 7/10(moderate projection and silage for the first 1-2 hours)
    Weather – best in autumn,winter
    Age – 25+
    Compliments – 8/10
    Scent – 8,5/10
Main notes according to me – kulfi, vanilla, amber, ginger, mandarin, rose, jasmine.
The drydown is nice, creamy and powdery and i get some -sweetness,vanilla,sandalwood,patchouli and amber.
Emotions -desirable,elegant,seductive,mysterious,sensual, dark vibe elegance,New Year’s Eve Party.
Occasion – perfect for date, nights out and romantic evening
Could be a nice signature scent. You’ll get compliments with this one.

I can’t believe that I am saying this about THIS fragrance. I have been spray testing it directly on my skin and it was when disaster happened. From the first whiff, I smelled something rather like a “salty” taste (in food) right away and it lasted almost half an hour on my skin. The salty smell was so close to the smell of “fish sauce” as in dipping sauces found in some Asian cuisines. But then it dried down beautifully as Tom Ford’s fragrances should be with all the beautiful notes that I like so much.
I just can’t fathom the “fish sauce” smell on my wrist in order to tolerate the drying down process in order to get to the much pleasant stage in the end. It was too shocking to me to begin with as the “odd” smell hit me right on the face from the first sniff. I checked back on the notes of this “beast” and assumed that it might be the “amber” in it that created the weird smell on my skin. Amber and I mostly are like “enemies”. We hate each other. The number one of fragrance that I avoid at all time is the Jo Malone Amber & Lavender Cologne. I could die wearing it.
As “irony” as it already was, I LOVE the Tom Ford Noir Extreme EDP for men and ended up buying that one instead, and I TRULY enjoy it with pleasure. I thought that the Noir Pour Femme should be close to (as many people have voted), or at least related at some levels to the Noir Extreme since they are in the same line anyway. But boy oh boy, it turned out quite a bitter, and “ugly” surprise, to my disappointment.
From now on, I’m just gonna stick with the phrase “ALWAYS test the fragrance on my skin” before making any purchase (even though that fragrance has had pretty good reviews or highly recommended).

Smells like cigarettes and then nothing. I am pressing my nose to my wrist to smell it and I can’t smell a thing. I’ll try again.

This is well done and smooth. Apparently amber, which used to appeal to me, now disagrees with me. If you love amber, this is classy.
Edit: Decided the dry down is swoon worthy and I give TF credit…many of his scents are sex in a bottle. This is beautiful. I purchased the large bottle and it has become a favorite.

I sprayed it once. And a few hours later acquired it for my collection. I adore ginger perfume! Here ginger is very apparent, especially in the cold air.

Noir Pour Femme is one of my favorite perfumes ever, and for some reason I often find it difficult to review fragrances I love so much. But I’ll try my best to do justice to this wonderful scent.
It opens with a bitter sweet note that reminds me of dark chocolate. I think this illusion comes from the blend of the sweet oriental base with the bitter citrus top notes that aren’t clearly recognizable to me otherwise.
The kulfi accord is a dream. I haven’t eaten kulfi yet, but I have an idea how it might taste from reading a few recipes. It gives the perfume a milky, creamy, delicious note. I think there must be pistachio and cardamom notes in the blend. Besides the kulfi, vanilla and sandalwood are very prominent notes. I can also smell a hint of rose and jasmine that lift the scent from becoming too heavy.
The final drydown is even more warm, balsamic, vanillic and sandal-woody.
This is a gourmand perfume, but not a simple dessert smell replica. It’s complex, deep, strong, sexy but elegant. To me it’s an absolute fall/winter fragrance. I like it for daytime and nights equally, it’s just a matter of how much you spray.

  35. :

It’s a bit too “vanillyferous” for me. But I have it now so I’ll be wearing it.

I love this scent and wore my sample for three days before I realized it was this giving me a wicked bad migraine.
If it didn’t though, I would be buying a full bottle. It’s my favorite of the Tom Ford’s I’ve smelled/worn so far.
    A sexy beast!

  37. :

This gets stronger and stronger as the day goes by. To the point I feel like I’m eating this scent, it lingers in my throat. Powdery, incense, syrupy rose. This is my third testing, and my first trial was lighter and powdery fluff. I would have regretted purchasing a full bottle.

  38. :

I Love noir Pour femme but IT is “tooo much moderate” very close to skin 9/10

  39. :

    5 out of 5

Noir Pour Femme is sooo sexy! Sweet and dark, very deserving of the noir title, which few “noirs” really are. The ginger comes through loud and clear on me, which I love, and the mastic as well is very present, cutting through the sweetness to give it a smoky edge. NPF smells seductive and luxurious, and distinctly nighttime… in a different life, I would wear it with a long black evening gown.

  40. :

I take it back. I hated this on my first test – well actually, I loved the top notes but hated the drydown; I think I compared this to potato starch and sugar. Anyway, I retried this today when I accidentally picked up the wrong bottle (there is a lot of black in the TF colour scheme!) and loved it, loved it all the way through.
It is hard to pull apart the notes. It is sweet but chewy and spicy – it is in the same realm as Tobacco Vanille with that spicy, thick, chewy note – I almost get anis from it, which I love. Although it is sweet, I don’t get a creamy note, which I was afraid of, and it is very unlike other sweet, ambery scents, which all begin to feel a bit derivative. This remains unique and bold, and has the Tom Ford longevity – I scrubbed my entire home this afternoon, washing my hands constantly, and I can still catch it faintly where I sprayed it on the back of my hand.
One for winter and smouldering evening wear.

I have Just got this beauty. IT is outstanding.
Ín short for my nose IT is sooooo close to Organza Indecence with a hot mug of thick cacao.
I Can’t describe áll the notes, but it is so feminine. Semi-gourmand, As I feel the taste of baked goods, sweet tobacco and something resinous on my tongue. Very elegant in a modern, sophisticated way. Silky soft, but smokey. Christmasy.
    I Just love IT!!!!!!!!

  42. :

This fragrance is EVERYTHING. It is my holy grail. I layer it with Kai in the warm months and with Tom Ford Santal Blush in the fall. It melts into my skin and it’s become a signature scent. It comforts me and moves me. Over the years,I’ve been devoted to CHANEL Bois Des Iles and Dolce & Gabbana (with the red cap–the original Made in Italy verion only, b/c the reformulations are tragic), so I love big, sexy fragrances that almost have a touch of unapologetic masculinity while being too sweet to be worn by a guy. I don’t know what it is about this scent, but it’s magical, and unlike anything else out there–and I’ve smelled/worn a lot (used to work at Sephora and live in NYC, constantly sniffing everything at Bergdorf’s and Aedes de Venustas). I’ve smelled and experienced the alleged “best” of what’s out there, but this really IS the best. PLEASE never stop making it!!!!!

I felt like I was applying Black Opium in the beginning with this one! Then it dries down to kind of a weird powdery scent for me. I might wear this one until the sample runs out, but not a full bottle purchase for me. It does smell “expensive” to me, and it has great longevity. Definitely worth a try if you like those darker, powdery fragrances.

  44. :

I was gifted a sample of this one. Very nice to start with, but on my skin 1 hour later it turn male’ish.

  45. :

    5 out of 5

Definitely a cooler weather scent. Balsamic, creamy mastiha with a hint of spiciness from the ginger. In warm weather the ginger takes over and is super spicy. At least on my skin. I get 24+ hours with one spray. It’s a love for me, probably bc it’s on the verge of being masculine.

This is what i imagine drugs to smell like. Terribly addictive, it will swallow you whole sooner or later.

On first spray its very harsh, smells like spices to me i cant point out individually but cinnamon and cloves i can smell.i have to say that i dont really like this bit and did wonder if id made a mistake buying this.but a whike later i could smell a creamy vanilla smell. Im not very good at picking out notes so im constantly sniffing my wrist to see if i can pick out this kulfi note that many reviewers are talking about. Maybe thats the creamy vanilla scrnt im not sure. But its nice. I cant really smell it after 4-5 hours just very faintly. For the price that i paid i would expect it to last a bit more than 5 hours.. Its a lovely drydown for me after the initial smell. Would recommend if you can afford it.

  48. :

I have a bottle of this fragrance, wear it often and don’t regret my purchase. In fact, this is currently my favorite scent. The problem is that I don’t wear patchouli well. I don’t see patchouli listed in the notes of this formula, but I know patchouli when I smell it and it is definitely here. When this fragrance goes right, it smells like what Shepardess described in her review: “a perfect thick winter nectar of darkest roses and vanilla pods simmering in liquid amber”. Heavenly, like warm honeyed deliciousness. However, when it goes wrong (which seems often, lately), it smells like a non-descript, overly spicy men’s fragrance, specially if I apply it right after a shower. Nonetheless, I still give it a thumbs up and recommend it for those who enjoy vanilla-based florientals.

  49. :

I fell in love with this TF, on someone else. It smelt rich, full bodied, spicy; a perfect thick winter nectar of darkest roses and vanilla pods simmering in liquid amber. On me, it is thin and completely underwhelming. I am so disappointed.

I wanted this one for a long time, finaly I got it. I love it, is something special about this one, probably is the sandal wood in it that reminds me so much of my childhood. I don’t even know, but this perfume brings me back to my childhood.

  51. :

    5 out of 5

Probably one of the worst experiences i had. Although in the beginning loved that sharp expensive and spicy smell, after few hours i started to smell some weird note – probably kulfi, that made me feel that i ate something spoilt, made me want to shower. That note smells kind of spoilt milk or some body odor, sweaty wet hair, spit etc. But i think it’s very personal experience. Being objective – it’s very luxurious, warm smell. Staying power – 6 hours+. In my opinion, too feminine to be unisex.

  52. :

    3 out of 5

I got to know this scent a lot better this time as it seems to vanish on my skin when i test it usually
I found it sweet, creamy, powdery and a little spicy.
Vanilla and amber are apparent to me most and remind me of one of my favourites extatic intense.
The ginger adds the spicy touch and reminds me of some popular orientals of the 90s. Also making it smell sensuous.
I think this is a great wintertime warmer that i could see myself wearing out or even just at home feeling cozy.

I love strong smells, and to me they can be worn year around. With that being said, I believe that this fragrance best to be worn in the fall or winter. It’s a beautiful sent, yet when I wear it I cannot help but think that I need to wear boots and a black turtleneck. It’s strict and raw, and on me I do not sense any kulfi or vanilla. If you are into 80’s perfumes, but want an updated patchouli free version, then I suggest that you try this fragrance.

Tested this side by side with Velvet Orchid today (2 spritzes of each scent for each wrist). I would love this one if it wasn’t for the ‘mastic’ note. I smell the delicious, creamy kulfi (particularly in the heart), a touch of cardamom, the depth, the velvety darkness. All magic. But the mastic also gave this scent a hint of ‘dried saliva’ aroma that I found abit unsettling. That smell you get on your pillows after you’ve had a really bad night with restless sleep and lots of drooling. It’s so strange. I recognize mastic to be the culprit because I’ve also come across a few arabic scents that had the same ‘dried saliva’ undertone. Curiously, actual mastic is almost flavorless/odorless (it is traditionally chewed on to alleviate bad breath). I must say, I prefer Velvet Orchid (more sensuous and feminine, no weird notes), though Noir is the one with more character and intrigue. I find it quite unique. Both of the Tom Fords I tried today are surprisingly tame sillage-wise though, I have only one spritz of Hypnotic Poison EDP in the crook of my elbow and it is stronger than the 4 spritzes of Tom Fords I have on both wrists. Anyways, I think I’ll have to test this one again on a different day.

Modern oriental. Sexy, delicious, dark and smooth.
Smells like creamy pistachio &vanilla with sweet pipe tobacco. Projects far and wide and longevity is outstanding. Does lean more towards amber vanilla with time and develops sweeter but not tooth aching sweet. It’s balanced out by the sandalwood and resins. This is a loud oriental yet it is very smooth with its gourmand touch and not sharp or harsh like many orientals can be.
As a lover of Shalimar I found similar qualities in this perfume. Vanilla, smokiness, slightly floral….Shalinar fans and non Shalinar fans that wanted to like Shalinar must absolutely try this.
    Elegant perfume! Worth the price.

I bought this yesterday at Vienna Intl. Airport. I was looking for a gourmand Tom Ford. The girl working there gave me a tester and oh it was smelling heavenly like chocolate, total gourmand sweetness.
So I said I loved it, and she tossed in my hand a 50 ml bottle of Tom Ford Noir por Femme. I paid and couldn’t wait to take it home and open it. Which after a few hours I did. And I honestly thought they gave me by accident the wrong fragrance.
This bottle smells nothing like the tester I tried at the airport. It smells like a cheap soap with some black pepper lingering for a bit after. The whole thing is gone in less than an hour.
I don’t know what is wrong with this perfume, is it old, or did I just get a bad batch, but it’s literally the worst buy I ever did and gosh it was awfully expensive too, over 80 euros for a 50 ml bottle. A total bust. I’m so disappointed I could literally cry.
Edit. Just reading now through the reviews, someone below me wrote: “Give her an hour to breathe.”
Which hour? On my wrist and clothes it’s gone within half an hour at most…

People with milk allergies, beware. This perfume has kulfi accord, which is ice-cream.
I’ve tried this perfume several times, and every time I just have 3 days headache, which is not helped by anything. I should of looked at ingridients list first.
Except for the allergy part, it is a beautiful fragrance. I will not rate it, since it is personal sensitivities issue here.

Wear this one as a guy. One of the best vanilla-based fragrances ever. In my book, beats both PdM Pegasus and Amouage Reflection Man. Not the best ladies’ reactions though (although I didn’t get great reactions with any of the above three, even Reflection Man that is supposed to get them)

What a beuatiful and delicious fragrance this is! I recently blind bought this, based mainly on Fragrantica reviews. I am so happy I did. My most recent purchases are this one, Chanel’s No.5 Eau Première, YSL’s Manifesto, Jo Malone’s Wood Sage & Seasalt and Dark Amber & Ginger Lilly and Kenzo’s Flower l’Elixir. Noir Pour Femme and Flower l’Elixir are, by far, my favourites. They are both warm scents. However, Noir is the more mature and complex of the two. Currently I prefer Noir over Tobacco Vanille, which is one of my all time favourites. I bought the 3.4 fl.oz and I am sure it will soon be empty. Will be repurchasing.
The feeling this gives me I would describe as very sensual, sexy but cozy at the same time. It’s a strong scent, but not nauseating. In my opinion this could be worn year round, but perhaps not during summer heat. Longevity and sillage could have been better. Performance wise Kenzo Flower l’Elixir is much better, but then it’s an elixer.
Noir could be unisex. I’d love to smell it on a man. In my opinion that would be very sexy as well..
