Primarily Tonka and vanilla, some white musk. The lime is noticeable in the beginning and it smells a little weird and disjointed, and I’ll say it doesn’t do it as well as Shalimar, but at least it makes it interesting. That doesn’t last long. What I smell for much of its life is something similar to Reminiscence Tonka. Slightly nutty with a honey aspect, not overly sweet, vanillic, and a little musky. It smells pleasant but not interesting enough for the hefty price tag. Out of 5 samples that I received from an SA from this line, this one smells the most well-composed. I’m not liking the rest all that much.

    Fragrance -Musc Infini Ex Nihilo
    Bottle from – 2015
Musc Infini is a sophisticated, warm, refined and classy mix of vanilla, musk, amber and resins with a hint of citrus notes in the openining, followed by patchouli and intriguing rose in the middle and tonka in the drydown. The performance is great. It has some similarities to Amber Sky by Ex Nihilo and I can detect the Ex Nihilo DNA but this is a completely different beast.I would say a tamed beast.

Sitting and holding both scents on each hands.
At the very beginning I concidered them to “smell alike”.
Ex-Nihilo’s Musc Infini is like the less sweeter sibling to what Musc Ravageur by Frederic Malle is.
A sultry, musky scent. One can tell it’s longevity by just nosing the nozzle.

The first moments after application and bright and citrusy, I get tart citrus, like lime and grapefruit with a soapy musk at the end. As it starts drying down the citrusy sparkling note fades to a dusty rose and powdery ambrette seed smell mixed with the faintest hint of green patchouli. The cool green powdery smell eventually warms up to this addictive warm spicy vanilla musk. The last thing you smell is the musk. Its really quite beautiful the way each note takes a turn. All the notes listed in the description come out at some point. I don’t find this to be a linear perfume at all! I cannot stop sniffing my wrists. I think this is a very special perfume.

Yummy musk !I have purchased the Ex nihilo ‘s travel kit and reached for this warm enveloping musk the other day as winter seemed to drag on forever and I needed a hug. Just like slipping a favorite jumper on , it instantly felt cosy and comforting . Powdery, vanillic, beautifully sensual, and a lovely trail that lingers on your scarf …mmmh

Musc Infini opens with an extremely classic bergamot / citrus combo immediately joined by an almost iris-y ambrette seed note. It then slowly evolves into a powerful and extremely long lasting resiny amber with a moderately sweet vanilla and smooth woody notes. The overall effect is pretty familiar and sort of Shalimaresque. More than Shalimar itself, I’d rather say it would make a good, hypothetical Shalimar flanker.
Very classic, very french. If you’re fine with that and with the hefty price tag, give Musc Infini a chance because it’s good stuff.
