Omg, this one changes from the skin so much. The initial spray smells super clean and fresh. As it hits the skin, the civet comes out giving it a ‘naughty’ pissy vibe. Eventually dries down to a clean white musk with woody ambroxan feel that lingers for days. There’s something quite suede like that is reminiscent of Santal 33’s drydown.

So so beautiful. It’s the most amazing musk based scent in my collection. The price point is absurd but it lasts and lasts by creating a soft scent cloud around you. This could be my new signature scent!! It’s not as cold as Clair de musc. The patchouli gives it a slightly sweeter creamier undertone. Also this does have a civet undertone that is hiding behind all the cleanliness.
It’s kind of like Another 13. Feels light and airy but creates an atmosphere around the wearer for days!! On clothing, I’ve gotten whiffs of it a WEEK later and still radiates from a distance.

Musc 25 Los Angeles by Le Labo is pure, crystal clear, unadulterated, glowing white light! The most opulent musc I have ever smelled! I bought a couple of samples last year when they release the city exclusives for just one month and I loved Musc 25 right away, but the price tag *faints* was so absurd I just could not bring myself to purchase it. 4 months later I was still obsessing over how much I loved this fragrance and was chastising myself for not just shelling out the cash to buy it. Well lo and behold I waited 11 long months holding my breath and pinching my pennies to buy a bottle of this. I got a brand spanking new 100ml bottle for a whopping discount from some kind stranger on ebay (Thank You!) and I literally could not be happier! It’s very rare that I update my top 5 favorites but Musc 25 made the cut! I am in heaven!

Pretty, powdery, slightly vanillic, not super clean but not a dirty musk either. Sweet but not cloying. Cozy and innocent white musk without verging into laundry detergent or dryer sheet territory. Hate to bring up cost, but Serge Lutens Clair de Musc is pretty darned close and muuuch less expensive.

Out of everything I own, Le Labo still remains my #1 fragrance house. I find their fragrances to be unique and versatile. I really enjoy the sleek, modern, and simple personalized design of the bottle. Le Labo Musc 25 can be described as being a warm, soapy, powdery, dense/thick, clean white musk which also contains a ((slightly)) dirty-sweet, animalic appeal. The powdery aroma can be best associated with a barbershop-esque Clubman Pinaud and unlike that of Johnson and Johnson baby powder. I would absolutely concur with henri435que’s review when he correlates Musc 25 to Maurice Roucel’s Musc Ravageur and Le Labo Labdanum 18. While there is an obvious parallel between these fragrances, Musc 25 has this irresistible and alluring sex appeal that is absent in the others. Most of my friends who I’ve shared samples with have ultimately purchased a full bottle. One appealing quality with this fragrance is that it is versatile and can be easily worn during the day or night (including after a shower or before bedtime) and throughout the year whereas I do not find Musc Ravageur or Labdanum 18 that easy to wear in the hot and humid weather. I usually apply a few extra sprays to ensure the fragrance will last an entire shift (8 hours.)

Musc 25 Los Angeles is the first Le Labo fragrance I’ve tried, after purchasing the same city exclusive sample pack from Luckyscent. At first smell, it reminds me of Shanghai Lily by Tom Ford in that it’s a soft white musk with significant floral elements, but Musc 25 certainly isn’t as refined or as welcoming as Shanghai Lily.
Xs and Os wise, Musc 25 is adequate in projection and longevity but not up to its EDP concentration label in either respect. Also, I definitely regard Musc 25 as more feminine on my skin, so it’s definitely not for me, but it seems to hit the mark as far as its description. On the other hand, Musc 25 really isn’t anything special and it becomes horrifying at the price point, well above (nearly double at 50ml!) what Le Labo charges for its standard entourage. Not for me, but it might smell nice on a woman with some money to spend.

Right, so I just got the 2015 sample set of the exclusives from Luckscent and will wear one a day with a review for each – from a male perspective.
Today I’m wearing Musc 25 to the office.
SCENT: Billowy, soft, powdery musc on top that may not appeal as a masculine – but hang in there, within 30 mins the aldehydes add an intelligent wink that gives this one some versatility and mystery for male wearers.
OFFICE READY? I chose to wear a well cut, crisp white shirt and a navy suit for this fragrance. This is a soft scent that needs a classic, no-nonsense and strong approach in your attire. Why? You need to accentuate this scent’s clean qualities and downplay this scent’s friendliness.
NIGHT OUT READY? Surprisingly, yes. Everything points to a daytime fragrance here – but in a nightclub I suspect people will be enthralled by your incongruously soft cleanliness. Stick it to them. Make them question where you’re coming from.
BETTER THAN THE REGULARS? No, not a better composition or something more ‘special’ than Santal 33, Patchouli 24 or Vetiver 46.
WORTH THE $440 (AU $600)? No. The ‘Exclusives’ range and pricing is quite obviously a marketing ploy, so the scent has to be the elixir of youth itself in order to justify the price principal. This doesn’t do it – and deep down Le Labo probably knows it. I question the company’s own integrity and loyalty to their followers with this choice of prices for the range overall – and this scent supports my view.
WORTH $240? Yes, I’d buy it. I have now been wearing Musc 25 for 6.5 hours in the office and it’s at peak cosiness and cleverness. I’d have it in my collection if it became a non-exclusive.
HIGHLIGHTS: To me, Ambergris always offers a special moment – that smell of the top of a baby’s head after it’s been bathed. I obviously mean that in an affectionate, fatherly sense. The aldehydes add a very necessary question mark to the powdery cleanliness of the musc cloud.

This review is based on a small sample. It reminds me of Original Musk by Kiehl. It has moderate projection and good longevity on my skin.

Scent – a clean, soapy, dirty, earthy multifaceted musk.
Season/Time of Day – I prefer to use this one all year round, day or night.
Projection – I did get noticed, it garners compliments.
    Longevity – I get 24hrs consistently.

@HappyShopper: “Faecal undertone”?!?! Really? You gotta be kidding me…….

If i didn’t knew who was the perfumer behind it, i’d swear that this was a Maurice Roucel creation with a more old-fashioned vibe. At first, Musc 25 opens with a contrast of dirty-clean muscs and a very powdery aldehyde effect. The floral accord, which i suppose has more lily of the valley than rose, makes me think of talcum powder or something powdery that my grandmother had at her dressing table. There is also something incensy, smoky too, which makes the opening of Musc 25 quite a complex scent that seems to go on different directions. After it settles down you get a woody, slightly sweet and musky amber that is what makes me think of Maurice, since it’s a theme he has used on his fragrances for Helmut Lang, his creations for Frederic Malle (more in Dans te Bras and less in Musc Ravageur) and also in his Labdanum 18. I don’t think this makes it less interesting, but it makes me wonder if Le Labo didn’t ask Frank to use Labdanum as a starting point to creating this one. My caution is that this is not a clean, simple and creamy musk. It’s a mixture of modern and old-fashioned, clean and dirty, sexiness and temperance. Not for everyone, a kind of cerebral fragrance.

Have you ever gone to one of those Tibetan shops or a New Age store and sampled the oils, like White Musk or China Rain? Musc 25 is very similar to those scents, but somehow a little cleaner and soapier. It’s the kind of scent you could spray in your car or in your home, or even on your bedding, for a cool, crisp, slightly musky clean. It’s Fantastic!
Funny that “Walkdogg” said it reminded him of a haunted house…because the first thing that I thought when I smelled it and after wearing it a couple times is: “it’s a fragrance a ghost would wear!”

Maybe I am just weird, but this smells just like the haunted houses at amusement parks. Maybe it is the fog machines, or the musty dry old wood and props and dust?
But it is a good smell, and the childhood memory associations are fun too!

This is a really great, high-quality musc. At first when I bought it it didn’t seem that potent or remarkable (noticable) but now that my nose has become accustomed to it’s presence over the course of about a year, it’s one of my fav scents. And having tried other “remarkable” muscs like Koublai Khan and Urban Musk (TF), this is still my fav. It isn’t “strong” but definetely has that high quality smell to it. And I also get the “semen” accoord they were trying to mimic. Really skanky and dirty feeling. Love it : )

Not the most pleasant musk I’ve tried. It’s initially rich and slightly sweet but deteriorates into a smell with an almost faecal undertone.
