Oh so beautiful. Miss Dior vintage EDT smells like honey and fresh-cut grass. Feminine, fresh, bright, calm, sweet, and green.

Speaking for the vintage, it’s one of the best fragrances ever made. It’s distinctively feminine, however like almost all great frags, a man could wear and pull it off as well.
When the case is chypre fragrances, my ultimate reference point is the vintage Aromatics Elixir by Clinique, I sincerely believe that it’s the best made one. So comparing Miss Dior to it, the latter is drier and has a tad greener, dustier aroma.
Miss Dior smells like richness to me. The scent oozes wisdom, elegance and class.

I am not a Dior collector but the bottle I have is I believe from the 80s, heavy and tall with a ribbed body and continuous spray nozzle. There is a stamped five character code on the bottom. I’ve always dismissed Miss Dior because I’d only tried recent formulas. I really couldn’t see what all the fuss was about until I sprayed this beauty. It’s powdery, sweet and mossy all at the same time. I don’t know that it suits me exactly but even so I’m bowled over by the complexity of this vintage classic. It brings me straight back to the types of fragrances that I remember as a child.

It took me no less than 15 years to admire Miss Dior.
The original Miss Dior is like an antidote, so nerve-calming, relaxing and intoxicating.
It is the smell of wisdom, acceptance, peace, elegance and artistry.
The new EDT is just as good as the vintage EDT, I love them both – with the new one being fresher. The parfum extrait is much sweeter and rounder. I actually find the EDT has stronger projection compared to the parfum.
My parfum is in amphora flacon, and I am not sure which year it is from. If anyone has any idea, please DM me. My EDTs are from the 90s and 2013.

OMG…I get it I get it I get it. This is wonderful. I just scored a vintage Miss Dior EDT and it is soooo divine. I cannot stop sniffing myself. At first, just smelling it from the bottle, I was afraid it was going to be too stuffy. But this is just so familiar and warm and just a touch powdery but ever so sophisticated. It really is such a shame that the mass market can’t appreciate these smells anymore. I read an article yesterday about IFRA and the current limitations on oakmoss (etc.) and how perfumers sometimes just abandon trying to get reformulations “just right” because tastes keep changing and it’s not “worth it” for them to try to replicate exactly (or just end production altogether…the horror!). However, I must say, the whole same name/different perfume phenomena of the Miss Dior lineage is head-scratching and more than a little bit irritating. They really should be more specific/transparent with what formula is what (and give it a different name!!). But based on this one, I seriously want to own them all now! Even the current Miss Dior EDP, which I smelled at Ulta over the holidays and thought smelled just like Guerlain’s L’Instant. I’m not thrilled about the Blooming flankers, etc, but they may be okay for the warmer months. I think my next purchase will be the current Miss Dior Le Parfum. I’ve got a vintage Miss Dior Cherie (2005) on the way (eeeek!!). I always thought Chanel was my holy grail fragrance brand (and hats off to Mugler for innovation and not being afraid to be polarizing…shout out to Angel Muse and gotta get the new EDT soon…my poor pocketbook!), but based on the sheer number of Christian Dior perfumes that I own and absolutely love, I think I need to give credit where credit is due. Oh, and this vintage Miss Dior EDT reminds me a bit of Revlon’s Cerissa, which I own. I’m going to do a side by side comparison soon!

Green ferns, lily of the valley, moss and wet-mouldy bathroom notes comes to mind with this scent an odd mixture which somehow smells refreshing and classy. It smells a bit dated on me however (I have the vintage cologne splash bottle with the houndstooth cap/sash).

Once I got into vintage chypres/greens/aldehydes I never looked back.
Miss Dior vintage EDT is my favorite. With vintage Givenchy III as a close second (they are very very similar). I have a stock pile of vintage bottles from ebay… I cruise looking for deals/steals. Today I got my first vintage frosted glass houndstooth bottle. But all my vintages in misc bottles are pretty much the same smell. So no worries there.
This is soooo woody it almost smells SWEET like maple syrup. But it’s woody, green, thick, vintage, dusty… it’s perfect. Of course, you have to WANT that kind of smell.
Originale has little to do with the maple/woody green aldyhyde vintage. HOWEVER, new Originale smells very very similar to the vintage extrait of Miss Dior. Originale/Extrait skips the aldehyde (much like the aldehydes in vintage Chanel No. 5) and gets right to the dark earthy green which is also soapy and clean/fresh.

I’m testing my recent buy of a 90s vintage EDT. oh dear… This is so wonderful. *tear* I remember a bottle of the cologne version on my mom’s vanity when I was a child. I personally find classic chypres and aldehydes deeply cozy and relaxing, and this is no different. Surprisingly cuddly and demure considering the initial blast. I don’t know how you could resist getting out your softest mink grey angora sweater and cuddling with your love or reading a book by the fire. There is something a little carefree and even outdoors-y about this one, compared to scents like No 19 (a bit more starched white shirts) or Rive Gauche (a bit more urban). Absolute love!

I worked at the Christian Dior counter as a manager for almost three years between 2008-2011. I have a bottle of Miss Dior Esprit De Parfum that has a batch code from 2007. It was a tester bottle, which we had been sent in to demonstrate Miss Dior EDT before it’s 2011 reform. I would often acquire testers as incentives for making targets ect. I don’t see any page to review this version, which is a shame because it single handedly sparked my intense passion for complex vintage mossy scents.
This fragrance is a full bodied mossy green floral that starts off with a burst of lemony glabanam. Then softens (after at least 3 hours) in to an alurring white floral jasmine, lily of the valley and rose. Ending with a fully loaded base rich with oakmoss, veitiver and patchouli.
I wore this fragrance to see my grandfather in the hospital before he passed away in 2010. The staff were none to pleased by my choice of such a forceful scent. ( I wore Tuscany Per Donna by Estée Lauder to my Grandmother’s death bed four years later and no one was offended, lesson learned).
I also experimented with ketamine in order to totally and full experienced this complex jem, as some of you might know it really heightens your olfactory senses. It was quite the trip twisting and turning as each layer unfolded. It was like walking through a bright sunny green feild into a deep mossy forest but at the tree line is a bed of lush flowers you have to meander through.
I don’t think you can buy this formulation, I’m not sure you ever could in Canada where I live. So I do feel blessed to own my little bottle. I wear it in very early spring when the snow is mealting and the first green grass is poking out. It will linger with you on your coats and scarves for the rest of the season, so for me in really embodies early spring ( feb-early April). If anyone knows anything about this formulation please write a review and enlighten me.

Where can you buy an authentic bottle of this version?

So this is my first ever expensive perfume. I bought it today, after my mother insisted that now I am a young woman (19), I should have a signature fragrance. I did extensive research on here and I was quite sure I would walk away with a Chole perfume. I tested two and even waited an hour. When I went back to the shop, I noticed a lonely bottle of Miss Dior Original on the shelf. I tested, I waited and I fell in love.
To me this smells like autumn. Green velvet. Damp woods. A forest witch. I my mind this is something I can see Stevie Nicks wearing. Maybe it’s the patchouli?
I was concerned that this was perhaps a little “old lady”-ish (something I have never minded, but other’s will have opinions) however the more I smell it, the more I think it is just charmingly vintage.

So, I’m a novice when it comes to fragrance. I don’t have a ‘wardrobe’. That’s something I put my clothes in. I’ve been wearing the same scent for 11 years and it’s time for a change, brought about by a discontinuation of the love of my life.
Anyhoo, I’m working my way through a handful of new samples to try and Miss Dior is one of them. I had this (vintage? now?) perfume back in the 80s and I LOVED it. I was all about the Body Shop White Musk back in those days, and Miss Dior was one of the first proper, expensive fragrances I owned. I remember it being really musky, but as I say, I was and still am a novice.
This smells nothing like I remember. The first squirt this morning had me going ‘whoah… I smell bubblegum… no, wait, candyfloss… oh no I’m going to smell like a sweet shop all day’. Those top notes gave way pretty quickly and I’m left, seven and a half hours later – so great longevity – with a definite deep, sweet, even a little powdery, aroma. But where’s the musk? It’s not terrible, but I don’t adore it even though I do want to find a powdery perfume that I will like. It’s probably a bit too sweet for me as I’ve matured, so I’ll keep searching for a new love.

Ingrid Bergman in the movie Goodbye Again with Yves Montand and Anthony Perkins. Christian Dior did her costumes for that film and you can just imagine that Miss Dior is the fragrance she would have worn. The ideal 50s era Dior woman choosing between her age appropriate playboy lover and an immature but loving young man, leaving wafts of Miss Dior in her wake.

Toilette vintage. Although one can enjoy Miss Dior for what it is a gorgeous classical chypre with a unique green freshness, I find that understanding its context heightens my appreciation for its heartbreaking beauty. Born in 1947, the fragrance carries connotations of the hunger for glamour, the austerity of war and the hopes for future. …The birth of Miss Dior coincides with Christian Dior’s first fashion show held in a salon on the avenue Montaigne in Paris on February 12th, 1947. In a rebellious move against the austerity imposed by the cloth rations and the angular lines of wartime fashions. The fragrance was created by Paul Vacher based on a formula composed by Jean Carles (who also composed Carven Ma Griffe, Dana Tabu and Myrurgia Maja.) Michael Edwards’s French Perfume Legends tells that Dior was fascinated by the roughhewn appeal of Chypre de Coty (1917) and the vivid verdancy of Balmain’s Vent Vert (1947). These two accords are fused in Miss Dior, their contrasting elements harmonized by the opulent floral heart. Miss Dior does not reveal her charms upon the first encounter, requiring a longer and patient acquaintance, especially for those who are used to the eager-to-please modern fragrances. The green pepper sharpness of galbanum is underpinned by a classical gardenia note, which is bright, dry and intriguingly metallic. These effervescent notes slowly melt into the floral heart of Miss Dior, and yet the animalic darkness is never far behind. Soon the chypre base that supports the refinement of floral notes takes center stage. The composition becomes veiled in duskiness, which is punctuated by the gilded warmth of patchouli. The woman who wears Miss Dior projects the most exquisite elegance paired with confidence and resolve of character a truly alluring combination.

Vintage greens/chypres are my new obsession, stemming from the magnificence of Vol de Nuit by Guerlain. I have yet to find anything that smells like VdN (I find the EDT so weak!) but the search brought me to Miss Dior.
And I got the Originale from 2011 and liked it.
Now I have a 2 oz vintage Toilette splash in the white-bow b/w-houndstooth bottle with screw-on cap.
Mmmmmmmm… at first I thought someone poured old Chanel No 5 into the bottle. EXACTLY THE SAME top notes! Lots of aldehydes and I love it! Oh I wish it stayed like this!!!
Then it goes into the lovely heart- dry and green, soapy/powdery. This will smell very recognizable to everyone. It’s been around that long, and you’ve prob smelled it on an “older” lady before.
A dry mossy/patchouli drydown then follows. It’s not overpowering, very light and fresh– even tho it’s a heavy vintage feel.
This vintage EDT lasts about 2 hours on my wrist with a VERY delicate application. I can’t wait to get home and SPLASH myself with this!
The opening of this def sets it apart from 2011 Originale.

Reviews here should be posted for the original Miss Dior (launched 1947) and not the current Miss Dior which is a totally different fume and fronted by Natalie Portman. Do read up on the huge mess Christian Dior has created surrounding this classic — the Miss Dior/Miss Dior Cherie controversy. Basically they mucked around with this grand dame’s reputation. To make matters more confusing, Miss Dior is now officially ‘Miss Dior Originale’ since 2011, a shame-faced attempt at keeping this flagging fragrance alive after usurping its name proper. And the post-2011 iteration has its own Fragrantica listing so please put your reviews in their proper places :))) That said, I haven’t had the modern formulation so Comparisons are welcomed!
I’ve a 90s bottle of edt in the low squat frosted houndstooth flacon with stopper. This is the only vintage classic that has ever floored me (I inherited a sizeable collection from my Mother). A true masterpiece of vintage French perfumery in the aldehydic chypre tradition. I know it’s cliche to say this, but… they really Really REALLY don’t make perfumes like that anymore. This is the most beautiful leathery oakmoss cum galbanum I’ve ever encountered in any perfume. The leather is so rich and deep, it segues into… an almost chocolatey accord. It’s a well-worn dark brown leather, of the softest, highest quality. Like cashmere. I have 70s vintage Shalimar and I can tell you, Shalimar’s leather is no match for Miss Dior. And Shalimar, as you well know, sets a very high benchmark for vintage leathers.
With majority of vintage collectors hunting down the ever diminishing Guerlains and Chanels of this world, I’m happy to quietly snag vintage bottles of CD’s Miss Dior at very reasonable prices. For now at least.

I have a fresh, new spray sample that does NOT smell like these notes. This is a very fruity floral aldehyde. Not oakmoss or most of the other notes.

Oh my God I LOVE this one. And I have such great memories attached to it, since I wore it, when I met my husband in year 2000 and got married the same year (I think I wore Private collection by Estee Lauder for the wedding, but on a daily basis I always wore this one then-so only happy memories). This one is classy and a little oldfashioned, but it can still be worn today, and it doesnt have any grandma vibe. You can absolutely wear it any time of the day and any season.
I find the scent really unique and extremely soft and feminine, but at the same time it has some power-it definately stands out.
I know that some say, it reminds them of Chanel no5. I get the idea, but it is only in the sense, that you tend to think of the glamourous golden age in hollywood with very beautiful DIVAS.
I know Marilyn Monroe wore Chanel no 5, but actually this scent Miss Dior would fit her better (only this one-definately not the cherie or new Miss Dior)-its that type of vision I get, when I smell it; the image of A very beautiful, sweet, sensual woman. Not a femme fatale or a dangerous, tough woman-no, a really loving and warm one.
I notice it is still possible to purchase this one, but its not available at shops, you have to find it online.
I want to get a full one before it becomes vintage and unaffortable…

I was having a love affair with this one since a few years back. First it was Miss Dior Cherie, but she is gone, so I turned my nose to Miss Dior. I did not have high hopes, I was still sad and heartbroken about the departure of Cherie. Took a few years for Miss Dior to steal my heart.
It is classic, sophisticated, “I am better then you”, confident and naughty at the same time. I am sold.

Learning to love what I think are leather notes in Miss Dior thanks to a vintage sample of Lanvin Scandal called an echantillion. I have 1950-1960s .25 oz amphora of Miss Dior that was a lucky find. I love it’s dark musky floral aroma. My Scandal sample is about the same age and has a lot of similar notes that somehow reminds me of the end of a day at the beach, a musky, suntan oily fragrance mixed with an almost tabacco like roughness. Joop Woman also seems like a harsher copy of the original Miss Dior. Joop is an even more prickly chypre that lacks Miss Dior’s complexity.
Lanvin Scandal is supposed to be one of the greatest leather fragrances and predates Miss Dior but I think Miss Dior is the better fragrance. Miss Dior is richer than Scandal and more nuanced. The original Miss Dior is sexy and tough like a well made whip. It’s fierceness honors its namesake, who was a courageous member of the French Resistance.

First impressions: oh oh oh a potent juice from start, will soften though. But even for a person who loves heavy, balsamic, deep scents, old formula miss dior is hard to the nose. But, let her warm up. It’s a beautiful, challenging chypre to deal with. Very green. I wish other perfumes were as potent as Miss Dior old formula; maybe light dabbing of this and layering with any other scent. Kind of old-ish if worn on it’s own.

I’m an Avid Christian Dior perfumes collector, today found an edt bottle dated back to 1992, and I think MD was at its best formula during early 90’s, specially if you want really to wear it (not just collect it)

RIP vintage Miss Dior. I’m still grieving the loss of the vintage Miss Dior of the 1960’s that my Grandmother wore. Why on earth change a classy, smokey, floral chypre in this abomination of sickly sweetness? All the youth of today have been tainted by the current trend towards overly sweet fragrances. The lollipop generation that are olafactory challenged. Bring back the womanly scents of yesteryears and discard this trend of sugar and spice and everything nice girly sweetness.

I had smelled this perfume before, and impulse bought a bottle for less than retail listing. It is not my favourite dior scent, but it is quite lovely. I have no floral fragrances, as I tend to go for fruits and spices. The purchase was to try to open the door to different smells. I can say that chanel no. 5 is much more mature than this scent, and I think the main similarity is the aldehydes you get at first. I like the girlishly floral smell that lingers after the top notes fade. It is going to be my “feel good” perfume in the dead of winter, when I need an escape. Some Bob Marley, and this perfume, and I’m sure I will feel like it’s spring or summer! 🙂

I have a bottle of vintage eau de cologne in the houndstooth bottle. Very nice stuff. A bit of clary sage followed by praline and leather. I’m going to wear the hell out of this winter. Dry down reminds me of Jolie Madame if you exchange the violets for praline.

Miss dior is a piece of art that I can see it’s beauty but unfortunately I can’t like it..it has an abvious classic vibe,it’s not very youthful but also is not too mature,I believe it’s wearable in modern days for chyper lovers and I’m not one of them
It opens with some aldehydes(not too much and not like an aldehydic bomb)and green, aromatic and herbal notes.I can detect a prominent galibanum and some bay
There are lots of floral notes listed for it but none of them stands out on my skin,so I can’t say this is a real floral scent..ofcourse there are florals there but blended with each other and stting quietly behind it’s string base notes…the only flowers that I can see they’re footprints are narcisus and iris, which aren’t my favorite florals
Miss dior’s story is mostly about it’s base as most of chypres.oakmoss, patchouli, vetiver and leather standout the most and there is still an obvious galibanum lingering on my skin..for me miss dior is a strong woodsy, green fragrance with a herbal, aromatic undertone..So no wonder I dislike it since I don’t care for green, herbal and woody scents and miss dior is a combination of all,,this is only my personal taste but I can see it’s well-made and I can see why others may love it..I like new version of miss dior much more which has nothing to do with old one and isn’t a reformulation,it’s a totally different fragrance
If you’re into classic earthy, green scents give it a try
Longevity and sillage are both very good and it’s better in mild weather IMO,also for atleast +30 years
    My personal taste ❤

Let me take you back in time via my memories
    1947
I was still a young girl but old enough to know what was going on in the world. World War 2 had just ended and the state of Israel was formed. I am of Jewish descent, but my mother had French relatives. When she first heard of the launching of Miss Dior by none other than Christian Dior, she knew she had to get her hands on this perfume. It was incredibly expensive in terms of euros at that time. This fragrance was a luxury few people could afford, and in London, where rationing had been practiced during the War and was still being practiced as the UK fell into an economic Depression. Elizabeth II was getting married to the love of her life Phillip, but even her wedding dress was bought with the usage of coupons! It was considered most inappropriate for a Brit to have a luxury item such as French haute couture and perfume at this time.
But my mother HAD TO HAVE IT. She had already talked my father into buying her Femme by Rochas. I recall a trip to Paris, a Paris that was wounded and trying to recover from the Nazi occupation, the famine, and the tragedies of the war. I sat in a little chair for hours in the hallway inside the Dior boutique while my mother and father talked to a French sales woman. My mother came home with a new dress and a new perfume. I have no idea how she did it. We spent 5 days in Paris, I remember riding a carousel and smelling flowers in a park, I think it was the Jardin des Plants on the Left Bank. We went back to London and my mother was so grateful to my father for taking her to Paris.
The bottle and packaging was very pretty. It looked French, and had vertical stripes that resembled an old time ladies’ hat box. Ms. Dior it’s called not Mrs. Dior or Madame Dior. She is a Mademoiselle Dior, so it was intended to be worn by younger ladies. unmarried ladies or very young brides. This is a part of the fragrance’s history that people seem to forget. This was a beautiful youthful floral aldehyde fragrance for women who were about ages 20 to 30. My mother might have been a bit too “mature” for Miss Dior! At the time she was at least 31. The bottle was her prized possession and she wore it more often than Femme by Rochas. She wore it often enough that it became her signature perfume. Ah, such a beautiful scent. It smelled of roses and carnations, lily of the valley and sandalwood. I loved to smell Ms. Dior on her. It brings back fond memories. After her death, I became an heiress and Miss Dior fell into my possession.
When I wore it in the 50s and 60’s, it was already considered an old fashioned perfume but I enjoyed wearing it as it reminded me so much of my mother and I wore it to honor her in a sense. The perfume opens with aldehydes, very similar to Chanel No 5, a brilliant aldehyde opening that seems like champagne bubbles. The fragrance then turns floral with roses, carnations, gardenia, lily of the valley, narcissus, and an amazing iris and jasmine. It’s primarily a white floral fragrance but unlike FRACAS by Piguet, it has a less serious or “Church” type of scent, and feels more playful, less intense, and very sweet. There is no fruit note other than a slight citrus and neroli, but it’s those aldehydes and the sweet flowery smells that keep it powdery, and light. It smells like a light body powder to me.
In the dry down the sandalwood becomes quite prominent, and vetiver, also with quite a bit of moss and amber. There is patchouli leaf and leather/musk. It’s a really strong base, which supports the flowers and it was/is long lasting, fragrant, ravishing, and throws out magnificent sillage around you. I would say that it does not fill up a room and neither does it announce it’s arrival to a room. It’s a strong perfume but it’s pleasant and surrounds the wearer like a halo or cloud. The fragrance color feels like it’s pink, a satin pink, and it seems to be the perfume version of a Christian Dior pink ball gown. It does indeed evoke images of 1950’s ball gowns, prom dresses, Cinderella, or fashion models wearing the latest 1950 to 1953 Dior evening gowns.
My mother had a wonderful time wearing this perfume. So did I. When I was old enough to go to the opera and the ballet, I always sported Miss Dior. I enjoy wearing this to the Opera to this very day. It’s a formal fragrance, it’s not boring or too conservative as it was a modern perfume, but neither is it casual. It’s like wearing a sweet and flirty gown with no shoulders or sleeves, and even a bit open in the back. This is so beautiful. It’s the best, the most unsurpassed perfume of the Dior fragrance line.
I smell this perfume and remember my mother and my own early days as a perfumista in the 50’s. I met my first husband wearing this perfume and he couldn’t get enough of me. He would put his nose to my neck while we danced and loved the fragrance emanating from my skin. Miss Dior is ultimate class, luxury, it’s regal, glamorous and sophisticated beyond the comprehension of today’s kids who spritz on oh- what do kids wear these days? Jessica Simpson Fantasy LOL
This is the best perfume that was ever created. It enchants me and touches me like no other perfume can. I have experienced the subsequent reformulation and it smells essentially the same but with less leather or animalic musk and with less sandalwood as well. It’s not bad but nothing can compare to the vintage original which you can still purchase on ebay.

I don’t know why, but I just love this scent so much!!!
I found a small bottle of it in my grandmother’s perfume collection which she gave to me, and although I hated it at first, it really grew on me. Warning, this is not a scent that everybody will like. My mom absolutely hates it ahahaha, and I don’t think I’ll ever wear it outside for fear of being judged (I’m quite young, and I don’t feel that this scent “suits me…”)…
BUT I love wearing it to sleep.. I feel so luxurious and sophisticated but it also comforts me a great deal. You really have to give it a while, as it fades down to a beautifully soft, warm, lovely scent that I can’t stop sniffing at!!! I’m not very good at the whole scent description, but the image that forms in my mind when I smell this it reminds me of the movie Carol, directed by Todd Haynes (watch and you’ll know exactlyy what I mean ;)) The smell isn’t really much of a crowd pleaser, and it isn’t like any of the “popular fragrances” nowadays, however, I’m sure there’ll be people like me who will fall absolutely in love with it!!!

I wore this over 35 years ago (maybe more, ahem) when it was in the classic Dior black and white Houndstooth print bottle. (also got a nice Dior sweater with the same print). I wore this for a couple of years and loved it then. Not one to stay with any perfume too long, I went on to all the others. I would love to smell this again, but I think even the one they now call “original” could not be the same soft leathery scent it was back then…could it?

Miss Dior is spectacular, it’s magical, it’s timeless….it is absolute fragrance perfection. (If you like it that is, lol). But for me, it is the epitome of all that I love about fragrance. It is THE top of the fragrance chain in my opinion.
There is something about it that feels so well thought out, so perfected, and it doesn’t even matter what vintage form you get it in. You could choose one blind folded and it’s gonna be good. I have multiple forms from different time periods and I would be hard pressed to choose a favorite. I have EDT, EDP, cologne and extrait. Most of my Miss Dior is vintage but I also have Originale EDT which is very well done and smells like “Miss Dior” and I also have the Originale extrait, which is possibly the best current powdery green chypre on earth and it doesn’t even have oakmoss. It smells vintage and like true Miss Dior only astonishingly potent. I have the vintage parfum also and I’m telling you, the new extrait is phenomenal. That said, there is something about the vintage cologne that is truly special. There is a softness to it yet a touch of masculinity and the fighting yin and yang of the two leaves me nearly speechless with delight.
I hate to go on and on and hype this like it’s the perfume version of the Hope Diamond but it sort of is. If you like old school style, if you like powder, if you like chypre, if you like PERFUME period and haven’t tried this yet it is almost an abomination.

I got this one as a gift in the vintage EDC splash concentration, from a perfume junkie who kindly gave it to me some time ago, but I never reviewed until tonight… is a wintery Sunday and its rainy outside… it’s cold but the fireplace comfort my house making me feel cozy and inspired to review this classic masterpiece.
First of all I have to say that I was very curious about this one, I remember tried it when I was like… 11 years old?? at a very exclusive store in my city at that time and I thought “yuuuuck…” associating it automatically with an old lady cause the scent was very similar to some perfumes that my granny used to wear, but now… now is a different story.
I recieved it on the mail and when I saw the EDC bottle, so classy, so chic with the houndstooth design on the label, I just opened and got intoxicated by the beautiful scent and applied it on me the same day!
My bottle must be from the 70’s or 80’s, I don´t know exactly, but smells glorious. The first note I detected was a powerful aldehyde (which is one of the top notes and due to this one is a vintage I can see it has been well stored) impeccable and clean that almost make my nose itch… then came the flowers; powdery iris, rose, jasmine and orris root at the same time with the patchouli, smoky leather, amber and sandalwood which are the most loud of all of the above, making a perfect classic fragrance… delicate and oh so soothing.
I mentioned each one of the notes but in general my bottle has the base notes as the strongest ones with little floral and green hints, maybe the top notes have lost the power that it must had when was created but I have to say that it’s still a beautiful perfume and the high quality ingredients of an old formula are notorious.
Miss Dior is classy and classic, strong but gentle, eleg
