The perfume called Make Me Fever Gold, contrary to what many people think, was not released in 2014 but in 2013. It was in this year that the company offered special packages for Mother’s Day as well as the fragrance won bronze medal at the Abre Prize of Brazilian Packaging.
In 2014, Make Me Fever Gold won another important award when its creator – the perfumer Roland Theil – was chosen the best Brazilian perfumer in the ABIHPEC – Beauty Award.
Besides the overwhelming success, there is also much controversy surrounding this perfume. There are those who say that it has undergone reformulation in early 2017 (my bottle is from October 2016) and that the original fragrance had a greener content. The company has never said anything on this, but repackaging can not be denied. At the time of its launch, the name used to came engraved entirely on the side of the bottle and the fragrance was sold as Eau de Toilette. Currently, the term Gold does not appear on the bottles and the product is sold as Body Deodorant Fragrance, a nomenclature that everyone knows is related to tax issues in Brazil.
Greener or less green, the truth is that Make Me Fever (with Gold or without Gold) is a sales and compliments phenomenon. Its fragrance is much compared to the one of Chloé EDP, although the compositions are different. By the way, the situation was the same when I reviewed Savana Style Pleasures.
According to the company, Make Me Fever Gold has notes of bergamot and lychee at the output; notes of rose, geranium and lily of the valley, in the body; notes of cedar, white musk and rose crystals at the base. On my skin, the fragrance does not open green, as many speak. The lychee note imparts an astringent facet, resembling shampoo, as soon as it is sprayed. Then, the lily of the valley (also known as muguet) begins to bring its floral-green nuances, which usually bring elegance to floral scents and can remember jasmine, sometimes.
Over time, the fragrance evolves into a fresh floral, with a lot of roses, but without bending to a specific type. It is as if it were a large bouquet of roses, of the most diverse colors and sizes, surrounded by little green lilies and a plastic made of musk. There is also a metallic side (remembering red roses) that seems to mix with the menthol aspect of the geranium. It is as if they were trampled roses in a large rose garden.
The result is a timeless, elegant and classy perfume that grows on the skin and surprises in all the following aspects: power of projection, durability and cost-benefit relation. In my opinion, it could be a signature scent, it has no age or gender restriction, but can overwhelm on hot days if applied in excess. And the spray could be more soft, truth be told. It deserves 10 stars!

A prettier version of Chloe EDP. Great sillage and projection, lasts forever and gets a LOT of compliments.

Without a doubt Mahogany is a Brazilian perfumery house that has stood out with vehemence in the grain aromas scenario, proof of this are their Excellencies creations that just charge the equivalent of the cost X benefit. Make Me Fever Gold is a queridão inside the house, next to Stark, the combination of quality, performance and redefinition of what would be an “inspiration” of a perfume before ever released.
These findings emphasize the similarity between Make Me Fever Gold and Chloé EDP, from cover to cover, almost without moving nor, in all aspects of its evolution, even! Opening with fresh and juicy Lychee which amalgamates a white floral accord and thin, at the same time conveys innocence is overwhelming and impressive.
Your heart is an intensely emotional novel within a planting roses and lilies-of the valley, all dewy the grass in the morning and stamped by the magnificence of the sun’s rays, it warms, revives its smells and intensifies the existence of each, so as not to ignore the individual aromatic nuance of those involved.
Finally, on the basis of Make Me Fever Gold, we are faced with woody notes, with burnt characteristics of which brings the Cedar and Musk blow that gives that general sensualizada the base of the fragrance, giving it permanence, even though close but clear and highly admirable. In my Chloé EDP design in terms of evolution, projection and fixation, eat aromatic dust Make Me Fever Gold, without much struggle, just realize this. Very worth the investment!
