I absolutely love Diesel Fuel For Life. Playboy London does smell like Fuel for Life, but only after few minutes. In the initial spray there is something that I cannot stand. Something that is present in Le Male JPG, but for me the good part is that after few minutes that harsh part is gone. This is a clone of Fuel for Life, but a cheap clone. Well, you are paying a fraction of price, and you’ll get the fraction of its quality.

I have never smelled DFL, but I can say this one is pretty darn good for 5 bucks for a 50ML.
Is it spectacular? No, but it’s good. It doesn’t smell as cheap as it is. Smells maybe around the 45 USD for 50 ML range.
The brandy note is beautifully done and mixes well with the orange and creamy tonka bean. The cinnamon gives it some warmness and the anise adds a touch of sweetness. Overall, I get a creamy vibe from this, although it does have a sightly fresh undertone. I guess my nose is different than others who have reviewed this.
I get about 1 hour of projection and 6 hours of longevity. It leaves a decent sillage trail. I have been given a few compliments with this one as well, but they weren’t amazed by it. They just thought it was nice.
A pretty good fragrance all in all. Something worth picking up if you are curious…I mean what is 5 bucks?

I get is aquatic soft musk and a peppery cedar note that lasts forever and keeps it masculine. It really reminds me of something I’ve tried before, maybe a Bulgari that I didn’t like much It’s fairly well made for such an inexpensive scent and I think it would wear quite nicely on most men I know. Not bad for the price, and my favorite of the three Playboy scents I tried.

If someone took those exact notes listed above and made an intense version of this, I think a lot of very expensive colognes would look at one another with embarrassment. I love this scent, I think a lot more secretly do too. But I get it, the bottom shelf at Walmart, not honored enough to make it behind glass cabinet under lock and key. Hanging out with the Jovan’s.
I would love a high end version, made with top notch ingredients
Also as it gets warmer it seems to require more sprays

Playboy London is a really nice clean yet boozy scent. To me I get three fragrances it had similarities to. I notice a bit of Diesel Fuel for Life and a little bit of the sweetness of Diesel For Those Who Dare. I also get a less tobacco, less gourmand based Animale Animale for Men feeling with this scent. It’s kind of like the diy younger cheaper Diesel scent.
What I get from Playboy London is booze. This scent has cognac and a slight malt to it which give it a slight sweetness. It is also is spicy with some anise and cinnamon. With the cinnamon, it is by no means is as cinnamony as say 1 Million or Spice Bomb. The is also some citrus with mandarin orange and some grapefruit too.
Playboy London does play younger but I would argue that it is perfect for work, casual settings, concerts and even dates. This isn’t upscale at all, otherwise it may just be a skeleton key scent otherwise. This is a crowd pleaser. Which shouldn’t really be a surprise as both Diesel’s Fuel for Life and For Those Who Dare are crowd pleaser scents especially for younger people themselves so it isn’t a stretch. My ex-girlfriend liked it on me but it wasn’t her favorite to smell on me. Playboy London lasts about six hours on me with two hours of longevity.
Playboy London is a nice pick-up. Like all of Playboy’s scents, it is a clone but really good for high schoolers or even college students using their money elsewhere. For this reason I have to rate it an even 7.0 out of 10.

By good reviews i tried on this fragrance, well… it doesnt stand up by anything from the other cheap fragrances, perhaps is formula cheap or i have to sharp up my nose. It leaves me neutral, not sad or disguisted but steralized.

I have had this perfume for quite some time, being a “completist” when it comes to Houses that I admire. Playboy (though I am not a fan of the magazine, I do actually find all of their fragrances pleasant and, for the asking price, rather good) is one of those Houses I have formed a somewhat sentimental attachment to, since they were some of the first colognes I gathered when I was a starry-eyed fledgling parfumista.
I bought the original four debut scents (Malibu, Hollywood, Vegas and Miami) from 2008 in 50 ml bottles and the lovely Ibiza in 100 ml the following year (’09). My favorite, so far, was New York released in 2010 (50 ml) and then when this came out I “blind bought” it in the 100 ml size and was not disappointed. My collection ends with the VIP for Him from 2012, and the only one I find myself still wanting to acquire is 2012’s Berlin, with its eye-catching lime green juice, intriguing notes and awesome bottle graphics. It was around then (2012) I began writing for an online publication with more of a niche readership and began to plumb the depths of natural perfumes in all their glories! At some point I plan on getting all of these-just for sh*ts n’ giggles, but it is these first eight that I adore.
I had sampled London upon buying it blind, and was very happy with my expenditure of 20 USD for the large 100 ml bottle! This cost .20/ml but smells like something that would run you $1-$2/ml. If this did not have the PLAYBOY name and signature bunny logo on it, and it came in a simple “nichesque” flacon I am sure many would “ooh” and “aaah” over it. I wore it again today, after M.Micallef’s stunning Osaito EDP (a wonderful marine floral woody aromatic that is anything but ubiquitous) and was cross-checking perfumes with grapefruit, myrtle and wood. This is a tad sweeter than I expected (or remembered it) but was a fine follow-up to the much pricier Micallef on a laid back spring Saturday afternoon spent cooking and playing with the dogs and my partner in the yard.
I am not saying this is niche, by any means, but I am saying that for its asking price (even at full retail 34.99 USD or .35/ml) it is a winner! I have no idea how people are saying that its similar to Fuel for Life for Him with its tart raspberry drenched leather powdered with heliotrope and lavender is beyond me. The only notes they share are anise and grapefruit!! The thing that really warms my heart about London is the use of cognac and Tonka to create a nutty boozy affect to the warmth of cedar. The whisper of galbanum evolving into the blend of verdant toscanol and delightful myrtle balanced by sweet fresh and floral spices (cinnamon, saffron & anise) is truly rich and posh. The finish of the tonka cognac and cedar makes it yummy cozy and manly without seeming pretentious and lingers for much longer than I had dared to hope. All the while emanating sexy and suave sophistication for a song.
    Sillage: soft to moderate
    Longevity: slightly below average
    Overall: 3.75/5
Say and think what you want about the company and the publication (they do objectify women but to be fair those women love it…and that is not a bad thing! It’s just not “my” thing.) I try to find the beauty in even the most common and banal of places. PLAYBOY London EDT gives me quite a bit of beauty for something so “common and vulgar” ( to many peoples’ minds) and I am proud to rock it and surprise many when they ask “What is that wonderful aroma?” and I say “Why it’s PLAYBOY London for Men”. This has IMHO the most “playboy” like scent of all the 8 I have tried and own. And I am not ashamed to say I love this and a few others and like them all.
How much one makes or the station to which one was born should never limit one’s options. Here, on a shoestring budget you can smell like a thousand bucks. Its longevity is a bit under the average of most designer scents but a morning dousing followed by one late afternoon refresh gets you through to drinks after dinner and…who knows? This has garnered more compliments than many far more expensive colognes and after all isn’t THAT what it is all about…smelling swell and being well?

Fresh and clean. Nice. Light. A personal scent. I’m not in love with the sillage, but the price allows u to spray a bit more…

The perfume is decent. But the relevant stay and sillage is a tragedy. Overall I give it 6/10

    First initial wearing:
I like this but am not in love with it. I do however like it more as the fragrance dries down and this could be a scent I end up liking more with time.
This has that dryer sheet vibe that’s very similar to Mont Blanc Individual. However I like this way more than individual.
It’s decent but not as good as the other playboy scents.
    So far I’d rate this a 6.75 out of 10 !

  13. :

Similar to: Fuel for Life for men edt
Sillage: moderate, you can smell it very intense in the first hour, after this time, you have 4 hours near to skin scent.
Longevity: 6 hours o more, very subtil after 2 hours and a half.
Scent:like bitter orange peel, blended with cognac. Something spicy is present trough all this olfactive trip, but very well balanced.
If like fuel for life, but you want to spent little money, try it.

I wore Diesel Fuel for Life a long time ago, but there was something I didn’t like about it so I swapped off my bottle. London doesn’t have anything that is problematic for me, though there is a bit of a “laundry musk” quality (it’s bearable). It’s not too sweet and there’s nothing harsh about it. I wish the brandy note was stronger but it does have nice texture, though it’s definitely not too woody, and has good balance. Longevity and projection are very good. At about $4.50 total for 100 ml, I can’t see buying more expensive ones of this type – those are just not that much “better” and I don’t wear them that often. For example, I can’t stand Valentino Uomo, and the only reason I can think of for choosing that kind of scent over this one is because you want to make some sort of social statement. It seems that gourmand scents aren’t that difficult to do moderately well at a low price point, and perhaps this is an excellent example of that notion.

Me and this fragrance go way back! It was the first cologne I ever purchased for myself. It is sweet yet has that spice that always adds a bit more to the scent. The cinnamon really stands out along with the cognac. Makes it a sweet and almost icy fragrance while being warming and sweet at the sme time. I have got so many compliments when I wore this, it was insane. Most people couldn’t believe that a Playboy cologne could smell this good. Many said it was very “delicious” and some stated it was “sexy”. I would suggest it for going out at night or a date for sure. Now although this doesn’t have the best projection or longevity, I realized that you could really be trigger happy with this one. If you use the deodorant spray and then some sprays of the cologne you will smell this one on you all day long. I recommend it fully!

    Boozy and warm.
The first impression got that kinda dry woody feeling. After a few minutes, the Cognac and the Cinnamon start to show. The Tonka Bean comes and goes along the way, so in my skin, the fragrance is basically creamy warm and spicy, becoming nutty sweet here and there.
There’s a hidden freshness in it, probably the Grapefruit, keeping it from being cloying or to woody-sweet.
I think the Playboy fragrances are very underrated. They smell great and are REALLY cheap. Also, you can find it almost anywhere.
My only problem with it is the fixation. Is okay for the price, but since i like the scent, i wish it last longer (on my skin, only a couple of hours)

  21. :

    5 out of 5

Weaker copy of Diesel Fuel for life.
Almost no projection and fairly short longevity.
For a quick and cheap splash on, it’s OK but it’s no chick magnet.

whenever i come across one of these cheapies i tend to pick them up just for the hell of trying it i found this today in my local morrisons for £4 so thought what the hell i wasnt prepared for what was going to hit my nose in the slightest this is well made strong and smells exactly like fuel for life with excellent projection and lasting power and at four pounds for 100ml is more than good value for money but as much as it makes me smile finding little gems like this at ridiculously cheap prices it pees me off too that something this cheap can smell so good compared to the higher end designer fragrances that fall flat after a few hours so take note if you come across this its well worth picking up overall 8/10

On my skin this drys down to a lovely smoky, boozy, cedar with just hint of sweetness. Wears very close to the skin for me. Worth checking out.

Guys if you want better projection 8hrs! Try layering it with the body spray. I use this as a work scent a lot and it lasts throughout my work day. Although New York is my favorite from the line this runs a close second. Having also Fuel for Life I don’t get the comparison. Diesel is way more fruity.

Just got one for 5pounds so not complaining.

    ” Unique ”
London by Playboy is one of a kind. Surprisingly it does wonders to the nose. Not Many people would expect to believe that this juice has the potential to truly be effective. The opening of the scent hits the senses and pulls you right in. Who would have thought that this fragrance was going to be amazing? when i tried this fragrance for the first time thats when i knew, right there and then that this would be a keeper.I was definitely intrigued by the pisco brandy note. Give this one a try guys.

Had very low expectation from this…but this turned out to be one of the bigger surprises for me in terms of fragrance. I had purchased Playboy London assuming this wouldn’t last more than 2 hours…just something to put on for a quick outing. It lasts well over 6 hours…summer or winter – cuts through the cold in winter, amplifies with sweat in summer. Now, when I can’t decide what to put on, I instinctively reach for this – even in formals.
As for the fragrance itself, it smells like you took a cognac and cedar shower. Now I’ve never done any forms of alcohol, let alone cognac, but I know exactly how cognac smells. That creamy nuttiness of cognac is very vivid on Playboy London right from the top…gradually getting even better with the drydown. The citrus tries to peek out at times, but is quickly overtaken by more salty cognac. Surprisingly enough, the components in this one smells very natural…which was unexpected for the price. You just can’t hate it!
I’ve seen comparisons with Diesel Fuel for Life; to be honest this smells better than that synthetic 60$ citrus. You’d get London 100ml for an easy 13 dollars anywhere. So buy this over any 75ml – 60$ juice.

I bought Playboy London for my boyfriend because he is a fan of Playboy Vegas and Vip. I got a 3.4 oz for $10, so I thought it was a safe blind buy.
I was not disappointed. I think London smells great on him.
He liked it so much that he had me look it up on here, and when he learned that this is supposed to smell like Diesel Fuel for Life, he accompanied me on my weekly trip to Sephora to see if they had it available for testing.
He thought they smelled very similar on his skin. I, on the other hand, did not.
Diesel Fuel for Life dried down much sweeter on his skin than Playboy London. There was also this really screechy note that I HATED in Diesel that was not there in London. From the notes pyramid, I have identified the screechy smell…it was lavender. I really dislike the smell of lavender.
London dries down really warm and spicy on my boyfriend. The main notes I can smell on him is cinnamon, opponox, cedar, and a citrusy smell. It’s not very sweet at all. I really like it, and the sillage is good on him.
He sprayed himself this morning at around 8 A.M., and it is now 11:19 P.M., and while the smell is close to his skin now, it is definately still going.
MMM! I could sniff him all day!
    UPDATE:
Having purchansed Queen by Queen Latifah, I can definately see the simularities between these two fragrances! They have a very similar dry down!

This stuff smells like crayons! Usually I look for fragrances with good sillage and longevity but I wish this one didn’t have such good sillage cause I’m not a fan at all. I literally washed my arms with bodywash and the smell still lingers. Good for those who like it I suppose. No hate. I can see how some of the younger crowd might like this one but for me I returned it to the store, even though it was only 10 bucks. Just not for me

  33. :

    4 out of 5

Holy cow, this is a close copy of Diesel Fuel For Life. From reviews I am generally skeptical until I smell for myself. But this one, it’s true.
I sprayed a spray of Playboy London on my left arm and a spray of Diesel FFL on my right arm to compare them over time. Here’s what I found:
The actual spray of Diesel is more uniform and separated, due to a better quality spray bottle. But they smell very, very similar in the initial few minutes. The Diesel was projecting more, but both were noticeable.
Over time, they actually keep their similarities! I was very surprised. The Diesel is a little more to my liking, and the projection and longevity was better than Playboy London – but the Playboy London was no slouch. It still projected and still smelled great, just not quite as much as Diesel.
So in conclusion, I highly recommend Playboy London if your pocketbook doesn’t allow the pricey Diesel. If you can afford Diesel, it’s worth the extra price – but only because of slightly better longevity and projection and the slightly nicer overall smell. But Playboy London still projects just fine and lasts a long time! And it’s so incredibly cheap. The best “copy” I’ve probably ever experienced of any EDT.

I loved the other Playboy colognes, but for some reason this one smells bad and nauseates me (even when it dries), does that happen to anyone else with this one? It’s a unique scent but I absolutely hate it for some reason, it smells like it should be on a senior citizen. Maybe I got a really old bottle? The top two notes – warm spicy and woody – made it seem like it would smell awesome. I think I got a really old one.

  35. :

    5 out of 5

After months of trying unsuccessfully to lay my hands on the London Playboy EDT, i finally settled for the London Playboy Body Spray.
At the outset, i must admit that the fragrance in itself is quite unique. The notes that i can distinctly identify are the cognac and the rose. The rose is not powdery floral but has a rich texture to it. Nice.
The projection is average (that too if you spray a generous amount) for about 25-30 minutes, and then the fragrance stays close to the skin for about 2-2.5 hours.
    Overall — 3.5/5
Comparisons to Diesel Fuel for Life are natural, but one shouldn’t expect London Playboy to be a replacement.
In fact at $4 per can, one shouldn’t really expect much.

PlayBoy London is a copy of Diesel For Fuel Life, But Diesel Fuel For Life Is a masterpiece, We should not compare with Playboy London. But this stuff is really good & may be alternate for Fuel For Life, since this one is very cheap Around 13 USD. Where Diesel Fuel For Life is around 60 USD. Difference not only in the price , also in the quality. Okie This PlayBoy London plays a smooth roll. It stays 3 hours on my skin & 4 To 5 hours on my shirt. Projection is good for first 2 hours if u spray more on skin & cloths the projection stays up to 4 hours. Longevity: 3 to 4 hours. The smell can attract anyone just by passing you. I get compliments when i wear this stuff. Its worth for the price. You can try.

I bought it on a whim because it reminded of my favourite city, London. I was quite surprised to find that this is quite an unusual fragrance for a man. I rather like it because of it’s uniqueness from the distinctive wild rose.
“Capturing the vibes of the capital, London Playboy opens with an energetic and zesty burst. This evolves into a more sensual heart that marries wild English rose with the sweet-spicy notes of cinnamon and toscanol. Finally, the warm, woody base notes deliver a suave, distinguished dry down that’s reminiscent of a traditional evening down ye olde British pub. A truly masculine signature.” – from the Playboy Fragrances website.
