I have nevet smelled anything this awful.. .more like some kind of medical oilment that my late grandma would have used.

On its own, not an especially thrilling scent.
However, when combined with Wood Sage and Sea Salt, this one really comes alive as a “heart note” type of scent for some reason.
Then again, I might be biased in liking it since… well, the combo had an extremely interesting result.

Thiswent totally soappery on my skin and don’t have any special feeling about this. This is more like after having a lime scented soap shower with my body. I was quite disappointed for its lack of uniqueness.

Very interesting aromatic blend of lime, basil, and mandarin orange. Mostly it’s the lime and basil though. It has very tart citrus (lime with a hint of bitter orange) and is green in character. It oddly reminds me of the aroma I’d expect to smell in a greenhouse. It reminds me a lot of what the Herbology professor in the Harry Potter series would probably smell like, and is unlike any citrus fragrance I’ve smelled before. Sillage is moderate leaning strong on my skin while longevity is surprisingly good with 4 hours of good projection and many more hours as a skin scent after that. The really nice thing with this fragrance is that the lime not persists well into the drydown, which is unique as far as the lime note is concerned. Basil & Neroli remains my favourite from the Jo Malone line, but this is also pretty good. Also, it kind of resembles Dior’s Eau Sauvage but without the leather note, with lime instead of lemon, and with way better longevity/performance. It’s a scent that you won’t like as much right away but will grow on you for what it does.

I have tried Lime Basil & Mandarin three times and although I will probably never love it, I am (slowly) beginning to…tolerate it. The lime is strong and in true lime fashion, it is an acerbic note. It smells like lime peel. This scent is crisp, clean almost herbal and quite masculine. It does not have any sweet notes to balance the sharpness but, of course, it can be combined with something else. One of my all time favorite basil note fragrances is Isabella Rossellini’s Manifesto and I find that combining it with LBM takes away the sharpness but allows it to retain the clean scent. Jo Malone also suggests blending it with Wood Sage & Sea Salt but I have not tried it yet. So, overall, I think LBM is much better blended with something rather than on its own.
Update: I layered LBM with Origins Ginger Essence and Eureka! The combination of acerbic lime and ginger zing are just right together.

Definitely the best Jo Malone scent. This is the go-to scent for hot weather because it made me feel fresh even under a 104degF heat. I need to get a bottle of Orange Blossoms and see how it compares with this.

This scent it’s the love of my life the allways love and loyalty for a fragrance. I love mostly al jo Malone fragrance but lime and Mandarin it’s the top of my huge collection

I love the freshness of lime basil and mandarin, but on its own it’s a bit too crisp for me. I do like to layer it with other Jo Malone scents. My favorite to layer it with is Basil & Meroli. You would think two sharper fragrances together would not be pleasing but they are both sharp in different ways making them balance each other out. As with all the Jo Malone’s I have worn this lasts quite awhile and sits on my skin until morning if I don’t bathe.

It smells zesty yet creamy…very refreshing. A bit resemble to Hermes Eau d’Orange Verte but sharper and creamier. Medium projection and longevity on me. But a bit pricy for cologne

This smells so lovely because the mandarin smells so authentic.
No laundry detergent, not toilet rim block, just citrus notes that smell very realistic.
It doesn’t surprise this is one of their best selling colognes.
There’s something bright, refreshing, and clear about it that makes it a great fragrance especially for spring / summer.
If only this was more intense and longlasting..

Lime Basil & Mandarin is one of the most famous and popular perfumes by niche brand Jo Malone, known for its simple yet striking perfume creations that drew their inspiration from easy to wear, sent-bon perfume compositions like Guerlain’s Aqua Allegorria composition. Despite being based on two essential scent ingredients, the story doesn’t end there but evolves rapidly because Jo Malone perfumes give every scent its own spice and twist. Each of their limes is a special lime and each rose is a special rose and together they make fantastic, quality, characteristic perfumes.
Lime Basil & Mandarin opening is juicy, fresh with a sharp scent of lime that you can almost taste. Ideal for waking up in the mornings instead of a cup of coffee. A fresh blow to wake you up and shake up your senses. But as I said in the intro, each ingredient has a special addition, like a footnote. So in this case, lime has a mild floral subtone. After five minutes, juiciness is replaced by aromatic, mildly citrus chord boosted with pepper, spicy notes, and universal lovable tangerine is one step behind. Despite being categorized as eau de cologne, this perfume is surprisingly lasting and has a projection of its own. The aura of freshness, like grass and Mediterranean orchard after a spring rain, will follow you all day long but it won’t be heavy for another people’s noses. That is why I believe this is an ideal perfume for everyday chores, but it is also ideal for men who want to smell fresh, but also sophisticated unlike most of the sports perfume that knows not how to get to the next level and be more refined.
Ladies, despite the fact that through history, mythology and tradition basil was connected with a male principle and some old Jewish tribes used is for strength and courage, while in Rome and India it was used against evil, allow me to rephrase one of the greatest thinkers of the XX century Bela Hamvas and say that there is no one who wouldn’t notice a lady drinking her afternoon tea shrouded with a cloud of basil. Be sure that by wearing this basil in Lime Basil & Mandarin, you will not only repel evil but if Santeria tradition is true, attract new love.

I loVe a masculine citrus scent but this is not it. It is too rough and unrefined. Basil and neroli has similar characteristics but works better on ladies.

No one i know wear this, and i never got any compliment wearing this. But WHO CARES?? I love this and enjoy every second of this scent.
This emphasizes how strong and independent yet empathetic you are.
This is not something you wear if you need to welcome romantic intimacy.
This is something you wear when you are about to present your brilliant ideas and you want people to listen, be fascinated, and agreed to it.
Longevity is an issue, it stays for 2-3 hours and it becomes skin scent, but i always carry a 30ml in my purse to re spray my self.
    I will always repurchase this.

Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin is like a bad girlfriend that I just can’t quit.
At first, I didn’t like her. Then, I thought “Meh”, then I thought, “Wow, She’s great!” and then I decided that I didn’t want to keep her around anymore. I keep trying to get her to leave and she keeps giving me reasons to see her again. Now, I’m kind of at “Maybe I’ll keep her, because if I get rid of her, I may end up regretting it later”.
On the plus side, unlike a “real” bad girlfriend, Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin won’t hide behind bushes, leave me terrible voice mail messages or plot my death.
Jo Malone LBM came to me in a blind trade and when I first got her, she was a real nose wrinkler. The scent was green, dirty and bitter orange. I didn’t pick up much lime but I did pick up green kitchen spices, like basil (ya think?), thyme and maybe rosemary and something more. Hell, I don’t know – I’m not Martha Stewart and my nose isn’t the best to start with.
Now, I don’t know about the whole use of “quality oils” thing. I’m a person who believes that unless you have the manufacturer’s spec sheet, you really don’t know how good the source product is or how much they’re using for their concoction. Having said that, I’d like to think that I smell “quality” here. There’s a depth to the blend . It’s non-linear and goes through subtle development phases.
The orange that I’m smelling is entirely realistic and not at all synthetic. I can smell what seems to be a bit of moisture on the rind and maybe a hint of dirt and definitely a full, yet tempered mandarin orange that might have been placed on a kitchen ledge, near some spices, that are growing in the sunlight (queue the butterflies and rainbows here).
This fragrance is summer in a bottle!!
The more I think about it all, the more I realize that, Jo Malone LBM, I might just love you and not want to admit it.

Fresh, jubilant, youthful, and happy! This is the perfect warm weather fragrance for spring or summer, but I wear it whenever I need a little emotional “lift.” This is one of my favorite citrus-based fragrances. It’s tangy, but not overly zesty, bitter, or worse, bathroom cleaner-esque. Lime, Basil, and Mandarin cologne reminds me of walking through a Thai garden due to the lime and basil top notes, perhaps after a light spring rainfall.
Like most other Jo Malone fragrances, it captures the natural essence of the notes quite accurately, and the three main notes complement each other perfectly. However, in terms of longevity and sillage, this particular cologne is suprisingly stronger than most other fragrances from the brand. This is quite impressive as citrus-based fragrances, especially those in eau de cologne concentrations, don’t tend to last long.

I only tried this on card so probably not the best review to go buy, but it’s still going strong after 30 hours. However it’s too strong, sharp and masculine for my liking. Men could easily wear this. Just checked the title and it’s marketed for men too!

  20. :

    3 out of 5

I can smell the sharp citrus smell in the initial application. It’s fresh and smell like summer, perfect for outdoorsy kind of person. But then it disappears really quick and I’m left with the sweet floral smell that I’m not really into. Overall I think it’s not a bad scent, I just wish the citrus scent lingers longer on my skin.
I layered it with Jo’s Wood Sage & Sea Salt and I love how the smell softened, although it smells quite feminine but I really dig it.

A friend who introduced me to Jo Malone scents, gave me a 9ml bottle. I didn’t love it upon first sniff and application. It sort of reminds me of an old Crabtree and Evelyn men’s cologne from the early 90s. Must’ve been the lime. After maybe half an hour, the initial citrus smell settled into so,etching quite nice, softly spicy. So, while it is not my favorite Jo Malone scent, I would still welcome another free sample. I can see how it is cataforized as unisex; I truly think this one works for both men and women.

Smells like mojito with a synthetic basil. Atelier Trefle Pur has more depth than this.

I get the appeal of this and the brand. This is my first fragrance by this house. I think it has great quality. This particular one is strong and very masculine smelling. I won’t give up just yet. I’m thinking the fruitier ones will be amazing.

When I first tried this fragrance a year ago, I did not like it. My nose has changed, and I actually have found myself enjoying this fragrance. I like the sharpness of it. It’s ALIVE! Spritz and drink a shot of espresso. Boom, you are ready for work.

  25. :

This is probably something that smells good on other people but not on myself. Upon the initial spray, it’s a sharp paint smell. When it mellows out, it smells like a side dish: sour vinegar and basil. It makes me squeeze shut my eyes and stick out my tongue.
Update: so I had this sample for a month now. I strangely crave it from time to time. It’s still disgusting, but it’s the kind of disgusting I want to smell. I like it now, but still wouldn’t buy a full bottle.

  26. :

    5 out of 5

I like the smell, I might actually love it on someone else. I love how the JM bags and boxes I’m using at home for storage purposes still smell of this. I love how the scent wraps me up when I enter a JM store. It’s a great signature scent for the brand and can be a great unisex fragrance for anyone who loves fresh spicy/herbal scents. I can’t use it on myself as it feels overwhelming after an amount of time and I don’t want to invest in it if I’m not able to fully enjoy it. But I can’t stop putting some on myself every time I’m around a tester of it.
This is everything I like; fresh, green, woody, herbal and spicy citrus. It might feel masculine if you are used to smell sweet florals on women. I’m a big fan of basil in men’s fragrances and I usually prefer woody herbals to always-so-popular aquatics on my partners. I’m pretty sure I’d be more attracted to someone wearing and enjoying this.
If things were better between us, I would absolutely consider getting this for my “boyfriend” and using myself more than he does too.

  27. :

    3 out of 5

This starts exactly as described with the lime and mandarin notes at the very top. When it settles the herbs came into their own. It’s a sunny walk through an overgrown herb garden with the oils releasing as you brush past. It is not at all sweet and I imagine would be just as nice worn by a man.
This is not a fragrance that enters a room before you and leaves after you. Who needs that? It sticks with you, nice and close to the skin but has reasonable longevity. So if you are not the sort of person that needs to be the centre of attention all the time, if you like quiet and restful moments and can find your equilibrium within rather than needing constant external stimuli, this is for you. Ideal for those of us who are more introvert than extrovert.

  28. :

Horrible. I mean, I’m trying not to rubbish this scent since it is the house’s signature scent (and also years ago I really liked it). But in Australia, we have a toilet cleaner from the brand Pine ‘O Clean and it smells just like this. I’m trying to not make that bad association, but my brain keeps telling me it’s toilet cleaner! Memories subconsciously affect our perception of smells… for better or worse.

  29. :

Fresh, tangy and clean smell, which turns slightly balsamic when the patchouli and vetiver appear in the end. Sophisticated in its composition. Perfect for casual wear.

  30. :

    4 out of 5

I am not sure I like it (the patch/vetiver part is just toooo sweaty for me for some reason) but at least it’s interesting, unlike most of the standard line of JM frags.

  31. :

    3 out of 5

Smells dirty and like an old man´s cologne, it´s not fresh, this is more like a dry lemon with musk and patchouli…
If you like that old style go ahead!!! but I think you can get the same aroma from a $10 box cologne at the super market…
Besides this one, I love Jo Malone fragrances and now have 4 of them, I tried mixing it with Wood sage… but this last one totally despairs under Lime Basil…
It reminds me of ô de Lancome (the original one)

  32. :

    4 out of 5

Another JM scent that disagrees with me. This, to my nose is really, really bad. Dirty, cheap, old man cologne bought at the dollarstore bad. I was hoping this would be unisex and realistic but unfortunately, it is very spicy and stale smelling. But most importantly, cheap, synthetic and sour.
Not sure if I got a bad sample or what, but I cannot stand it and I love the scent of lime, basil and mandarin. When I cut into a lime, I feel like I can bathe in the scent. But this has no fresh lime. More like $1 lime bathroom cleaner mixed with stanky sweat (which might the basil interpretation for basil does sort of smell stanky). Might be better on someone else.

  33. :

    4 out of 5

I don’t know what to think about this. I love citrus, and the citrus-basil combination here is gorgeous. I hate patchouli, but this scent has a subtle, pleasant patchouli undertone. One of the few perfumes with patchouli I like.
What people are saying when they compare it to a mojito or a vodka tonic is accurate.
And I can understand also the people who say negative things like ‘It smells like cleaner.’ So this is a conundrum.
It’s definitely not girly, but a woman can wear this. Or a man.
    It has a good breathe-down.
I just don’t know. I like it, I’m just not sure if I love it. Rak hates it.

  34. :

My sister in law gave this to me at Christmas bc she tried it and said it smelled like a “dirty sweaty old man”, to which I said “lay it on me” because I LOVE dirty, stinky patchouli/musky/manly hippie fragrances. It’s pretty strong out of the bottle but I REALLY love it. This is totally unisex, and if I could get my husband to wear it – he doesn’t wear cologne – I’d probably never let him leave the house because it’s just pure sex. I find the name of this to be a misnomer – I don’t smell basil, lime, OR mandarin. Just patchouli and a zingy, fresh and vaguely citrus smell. It’s not overtly masculine or musty, but it does have a sharp, almost aftershave tang to it.Maybe the sharpness is the basil. I can’t tell, but I LOVE IT! And I’m not sure what I’ll do when this bottle is gone because it’s a bit out of my price range so if anybody knows a similar scent that is more affordable I’d love to go buy it so I can make this last!

  35. :

    5 out of 5

The secret with this one is not to spray too much or else it will become very masculine and sickly. Def can be used as a unisex perfume for both men and women but in saying that I feel it is more popular amongst women. On the scent it’s self all I can say is it’s very classic, clean distinct scent. Sort of fresh out of the bath or shower type feel/scent. Personally I wouldn’t really wear it for a romantic date I would wear it more so meeting friends for lunch or to work. I feel this would suit any women who likes a classic sense of style- effortless and miminalist.

i am not a huge fan of citrus scents, so when i first smelled this it was.. ok.. interesting.. but not me.
i prefer stronger scents with amber/oud/musk/sandalwood in them and some white florals. so naturally i bought a bottle of velvet rose and our also by jo malone and the sales assistant gave me a sample of this as it is their signature scent.
when i tried this a few times from the sample i started to appreciate this cologne. i like how my body warms up the Mandarin into something really nice and i agree that the basil makes this fragrance really interesting and not your average citrus.
i am getting a full bottle of this next. it would be amazing in the morning on its own or paired with something else.

Smells just like Tang Orange Drink Mix

  38. :

    5 out of 5

Love the zest & zip of this one. The basil really shines through and makes this ‘special’, and by using lime instead of lemon or orange as the main citrus I feel it doesn’t smell nearly as ‘sweet’ or candy like, which some citruses can be a bit more candy than true fruit or zest. It does remind me of a mixed drink, but not the kind with a little paper umbrella, more like a short drink with crushed basil, orange bitters, and a twist of lime.
This is brisk & almost bracing to me, perfect for summer days or evenings. In terms of citrus fragrances, this one has a bit more lasting power than the average — I tend to be able to smell it on myself after about 3 or 4 hours without much change.
It doesn’t transform at all, it just trails off in strength and intensity as the day goes on.

  39. :

I don’t know how my skin chemistry works with this one, but on my skin, it smells kinda like lamb broth. A big pass.

  40. :

    4 out of 5

Of all the Jo Malone scents I have tried, Lime, Basil and Mandarin is definitely one of my favourites. Due to its freshness, I would only tend to wear this fragrance during Spring and Summer. It has a happy citrus vibe that instaneously boosts my mood.
This fragrance is all about the mandarin accord. If I were to crush the fruit in my hand and then inhale the juicy aromas, I imagine it would smell very much like this fragrance. I would like to layer Lime, Basil and Mandarin with a woods based scent one day to see what the result could be. This cologne could add a crisp and energizing aspect to a somewhat bland scent.
Like most Jo Malone fragrances, the longevity isn’t all that great unfortunately. To continue feeling refreshed on a hot Summer’s day you would need to have a top up handy in your handbag.
The drydown incorporates the subtlest hint of white florals, so not to detract from the fun and zesty citrus notes. Admittedly whilst Lime, Basil and Mandarin is fairly one dimensional, the lack of complexity doesn’t bother me in the slightest.
I only wish Jo Malone didn’t have one of the heftier price tags for colognes in our current market. I might love her fragrances, but the price compared to the overall longevity just doesn’t add up for me.

  41. :

Im really on the fence about this one. I don’t think it’ll ever be a favorite but there are aspects of it I dont mind. Funnily enough I can’t really smell much of any of the lime, basil or mandarin. It smells a teeny bit citrusy but I definitely echo the other reviews saying it smells dry/dusty, thats really something I pick up and I don’t like that aspect of it. But on the other edge of that dustiness, is almost like a chlorine type of smell? I don’t know if thats just me but it ends up almost smelling like after I finished swimming at a pool and then spent the rest of the day outdoors. Which sounds like an amazing scent, but the dustiness just is strong enough to make it slightly too masculine and ruins what had the potential to be a really beautiful summer scent!

I thought it was time I ventured into the world of Jo Malone and so I tried this out. Very strong and zesty to begin with but it soon calms down and the mandarin and basil come through.
Really pleased to have this in my collection. I can see why so many people say it leans towards masculine, which being a guy myself is obviously not a problem. Not the cheapest fragrance, but well worth checking out.

  44. :

Beautiful – very much in the same vein as a typical eau de cologne.
For me mandarin takes the lead, with lime as backing vocals and lilac singing along in the audience.

Lime, Basil and Mandarin may just be the holy grail of unisex fragrances for men.
It smells like tradition in the best possible way.
    It is so nice!

Familiar, comfortable, clean and fresh. Leans masculine but not too much. Liking it in cooler weather rather than in the summer (surprisingly). Has a fresh confidence to it that knows what it wants. It’s not wishy washy. Anyone can wear it, everyone should try it.

First Impression: Smells like a DUDE!
Maybe it has to be layered, or given a
bit of time to unfold? Will update L8R
    A few minutes in… smells FRESH, &
I am definitely experiencing the depth
in this as described by other reviewers.
Getting to love this one. sO fresh zesty
    yet strangely wearable. As extremely
fresh and zesty as it is it doesn’t reach
that point of being aQuatic. …Peace..
A half hour in or so. Smells fantastic.
I hate aQuatic perfumes because to
me they smell cheap, and remind me
of someone who swims at a chlorine
infested swimming pool at the YMCA.
Cheap and TRYING to be all oceany
but comes across as that off-putting
imagery I just illustrated for you there.
Not this. Has all the benefits as if it
were an aquatic perfume but due to
the warmth and depth has a classy
aspect to it. Who knew that fresh zesty
perfumes can be worn by fashionistic
types and not be underwhelmed by it?
Can be unisex I guess but dudes don’t
    need expensive perfumes, Old Spice
across the board, I say. …Peace…

Now this is the type of citrus I do like. A very natural, dry, dusty, lime. I agree with the reviewer below; it does have a warmth too it. Its hot but not from cinnamon. Must be the patchouli. This smells like a lime baking in the sun on a bed of patch.

  49. :

I got a small 1.5ml sample of this when I purchased another cologne and I have to say I do quite like it. It’s zesty and fresh but warm and deep at the same time. The citrusy notes definitely hit me first. It did go a little masculine on my skin but I kinda like that 🙂

  50. :

    4 out of 5

No matter how hard I try to focus on how fresh this fragrance is, or how stunningly natural the notes smell- all I smell is a really delicious taco. I wish I was kidding. The basil smells like pico de gallo somehow. The vetiver smells of grainy texture that reminds me of tortillas. And who doesn’t like lime on their tacos? It’s fresh, long-lasting, and well-made but I find it unwearable. It gives me the giggles.

Very, very nice. But not for the hundred buck plus price tag. There are far batter selections you can buy for that kind of money. It is a very refreshing scent though! And I must admit, it does last.

I love Jo Malone – and I love this smell. But, it turns masculine on my skin. My daughter even said I smelled like my grandfather the last time I wore it. I gave it to my 18 year old son and he rocks it.

  53. :

Brilliant, bright and medicinal…but also dry and dusty… Their is something addictive about this perfume. Mouthwatering almost. It’s hard to put my finger on. I bought it for my fiancé, but find myself spraying it on my chest before bed oftentimes. It has a meditative quality to it. I don’t care for most of Jo Malones fragrances. I mean they are ok, but for the price you pay, one would expect a bit of wow. This one is wow for me. I’m smelling it as I write this….it seems so familiar…like a snatch of pop song that goes around and around in your head until you think your going to go mad with it…
Scent…9/10 for me…it has that undefinable “something” that for me is loads better than individual notes.
Projection…5/10…quite mild, perfect for bedtime or summer lawn parties. The smell mixes well with fruit salad and a mojito
Fortitude…6/10…to bad it isn’t a bit more dense
To my nose it’s one of a kind…highly recommended

Special thanks to dannysmom for the sample! 🙂
I honestly didn’t think I would like this. The notes aren’t ones I usually go gaga over, but it works in this one. Refreshing, herbal and masculine. I don’t know how Jo Malone makes all these combos work, but she does! On my skin, the lime is very noticeable followed closely by the basil, much like it is in the perfume pyramid. I don’t get much mandarin at all, but I do get nuances of bergamot intermingled with the lime and basil. This one is strangely addictive, I must say! If you like herbal perfumes/colognes, so give this one a try. I will say it does have a bit of an aftershave quality about it, but I think that’s what keeps me sniffing it. I’ll have to edit later for longevity and sillage.
Btw, I’m a HUGE an of JM’s Amber & Lavender if that gives any frame of reference.

I think the reason for this one getting so many dislikes from women (based on voting here) is because it’s stated to be unisex, but it smells more like a traditional cologne for men. You can see that in the comment section as well.
I also think that many of the women who dislike this were more disappointed in it being so masculine rather than not liking how it smells. I might be wrong though.
I really like it. It does smell like lime, basil and mandarine and the notes work really well together. It lasts over 12 hours on my skin. Sillage seems to be soft/moderate. I’d like to add that after several hours it actually ends up smelling like a sweet vetiver reminiscent of Guerlain Vetiver.
    Clean, fresh and manly.

OMG…. I love this creation. Like it or not, there is just such an honesty about the notes of this cologne: Nothing uncomplicated, fresh and juicy with a lovely lush green flow to it. It’s one of those colognes that you either like or you just don’t. I’d bathe in this stuff if I could. Whenever I wear it, my husband always sneaks up behind me and bites me because he says it smells so darn edible on me, and I’m okay with that. 🙂

Bright, sweet, herbaceous and citrus. This is a fragrance I resisted for a while as it seemed to be a little popular and I didn’t want to smell “generic”. I know, precious much!
Anyway, I succumbed after I fell in love with a small sample – on my skin it starts out with a refreshing blast of sweet lime and then the basil and mandarin surface – this is followed by a lovely light musky note that rounds the whole perfume to perfection.
It’s absolutely gorgeous all year round (IMHO) although it sings at it’s (rather wonderful) best on hot days.
Great silage and good staying power for a JM. Love it!

Certainly not the typical fragrances I’m drawn to, but it’s really unique. It is more on the masculine side, but still suitable for women. I wear this a lot in the winter months.

Like flecks of basil scented with orange essence oil. I can almost imagine it sprinkled on top of cod fillets to make a good summer evening dinner on the patio.
Not an unpleasant scent and probably works great with seafood but I personally would choose Guerlain’s AA mandarine basilic if I want to smell basil.

I love the combination of basil and mandarin. I thought it sounded terrible when I first heard of it, but after smelling a scented candle of a friend’s, I’m in love. It was the first Jo Malone scent I tried, and I think the lime adds a nice layer to it. I’m not really a great fan of citrus, so I think basil is a great scent to pair with it.

I’m totally in love with this perfume. It reminds me of being by the seaside in a Mediterranean (not tropical) location, on a sunny but cool day. I get lots of super fresh lime, mandarin, and basil – but somehow it doesn’t smell like a cocktail, but rather like a kitchen garden. It’s not a listed note, but I also get delicious sea salt, as if the garden was at the edge of a sea cliff with the spray misting the air. I find the sillage is moderate and it is long-lasting on my skin. Love.

Jo Malone has quality fragrances made with a combination of natural and some synthetic oils. I support JM because of the use of natural oils in their line. This cologne smells dynamic and energetic to me and gives out a sense of power and elegance at the same time.

What I find interesting about this house, comparing Malone’s Grapefruit to this Lime Basil & Mandarin, is that her nose expertly blends these frags with the pre-ripe green element still intact.
This is an interesting experience. Both of them are gentle and short
