To me it smell like Bvlgari Aqva Pour Homme but lack class. Not very appealing. I hardly reach for this stuff only when I want to fulfill the formality of wearing a fragrance on myself and that’s all folks.

Light Blue is the equivalent of Acqua di Giò (even more similar to the perfume although the latter came out later), however … when something new?

  3. :

Smells fresh and nice, but that is it. Nothing special. Longevity and sillage are both weak.
P.S: More unisex than masculine, in my opinion.

Caspar Milquetoast’s cologne of choice. Think khakis and fuel efficient sedans. All of those implications withstanding, it is a good choice when you need to be nameless/faceless.

One of my favorite scents but it doesn’t perform well. Maybe 4 hours longevity and seems to barely leave the skin during that time. Nevertheless, it’s a fantastic scent. A musky, salty, citrusy summertime classic. Very fresh and clean. Any age could wear this. I purchased Light Blue Eau Intense and it definitely has better performance, but just doesn’t smell the same as this beauty. Similar, but not the same.

Nothing ground breaking, Amature blind buy. Never wore this in a long time. I dont reach for this at all, unless I force myself to do so.
This is a very safe scent for any one who is getting into the game.
Scent charateristics, Totally unoffensive, very clean, synthetic opening and resembles 1000 other fragrance dna.
Longevity issues 3 hours, 1 ft of sillage. Wear it to work in summer.
Not daring, not challenging at all. A bit uniqueness is all I need.

  8. :

Acrid, loud, synthetic. The epitome of sleazy aquatics and an absolute low point in male perfumery.
Some think this is acceptable as a teenager scent. It’s not. Don’t buy this for your son/boyfriend/cousin unless you want them to smell like washed up pimp from Crete.

smells like peppered lemonade , that is all. good quality perfume.

I don’t feel bored on this fragrance. I am always wearing it when I want to feel fresh, clean, and simple.
Citrus is moderate not the same of its female counterpart.

  11. :

A sort of sour, clean citrus. There’s an herbal incense like background. Maybe similar to the artificial incense like note found in Acqua di Gio Profumo? Light, musky wood somewhere off in the distance. I’m reminded of sea air. Somthing aquatic with almost a floral quality This does smell pretty generic but not bad.
LB is unisex and just fine for most occasions including work. A hot weather scent. It’s not really sexy but I think most people will find this pleasant. About average sillage and projection. Becomes soft after five hours. All in all this is a good scent. Sure, the composition is a little generic but it smells fresh and clean and doesn’t give me a headache. It performs decently and can be found for pretty cheap. Give it a sniff!

This is my signature scent. Everyone usually knows it’s me when they smell this around them. This is one of the most strongest spicy citrus scents I’ve ever smelled and it lasts pretty well on me. I went through a 125mL bottle in just ~ a year even though I have other frags. Also love the Summer editions they release im pretty sure every year. 10/10 recommend it or go for the intense version if you want it intense.

Just to Answer the Question By James “Are newer bottles made in France?”
Yes! the New Bottles are made in France
    and
They seem to have Better Performance !
If You liked this but were discouraged due to lack of longevity and performance I would suggest giving this another Shot

Don’t have too much to add except what everyone else is saying. A dependable mainstay. Reasonably priced. Simple yet very well balanced in that hits-that-sweet-spot kind of way.
This is the perfect gift for a guy who wants to smell nice but isn’t looking for profundity from his fragrances. He’s not looking for an outer body experience; he just wants something decent he can spritz on in the morning before work.

Weaker, yet better blended version of Versace Man Eau Fraiche.

  20. :

Very simple citrus fragrance, please don’t mistake this with being dull or boring, it is exactly its simplicity that made it one of the best summer fragrances.
Projection is good but longevity leaves something to be desired, I find myself reapplying within a few hours, compliments with this one are off the charts people just love it, all in all a great causal scent.

D&G Light Blue is a classic! Absolutely, D&G Light Blue can now be easily classified as a “generic” (fresh/aquatic/citrus/blue) cologne. That nonetheless, smells wonderful, will garner a lot of unsolicited compliments, and has tons of mass appeal. D&G Light Blue is an excellent grab and spray, office, casual, day, night, date, et cetera cologne that performs exceedingly well in hot temperatures with solid performance and longevity given that it’s a ‘citrus/freshy” cologne. D&G Light Blue is a must for a man’s summer rotation, and/or could be the sole summer cologne for a guy that’s not into colognes.
    Overall: 8.5/10

I have owned Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Pour Homme for quite a while now & although I enjoy wearing it in the warmer weather I just was never super impressed with it.. Than again Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme is more my style! Well recently a family member of mine received a bottle of Light Blue as a gift & to my surprise smelling Light Blue wafting off of another person instead of smelling it on myself gave me a whole new impression of this scent! For some reason it smelled much much better & much more impressive coming from my family member than when I smell it on myself! The sillage really smelled great! This experience renewed my interest in the new flanker of Light Blue by the name of Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Pour Homme Eau Intense! Definitely wouldn’t mind getting my hands on a bottle of that one for the upcoming summer!

    Wow, this smells great!
My brother in-law sprayed this the other day in the dead winter of New England and it smelled really nice. This is definitely better than AdG…could be worn all season with being indoors in the winter when the heat is on. Great performer as well. This a winner!

This is really nostalgic for me, even though I discovered it recently. Perhaps many men in my life used to wear this. Its what I think of when I think of a typical man’s cologne. Its very comforting and pleasant. Like a nice dryer sheet. Might have to get this, but only on sale.

The longevity is not that bad. I have a coworker that wear this to office. and it projects really well for 4-5 hours, for just 2 sprays on shirt.

Like i said before. All of these fragrances have been ruined by reformulation and they all SUCK. Come on people. Stop buying all this watered down crap so the perfume houses will wake up and smell the coffee and start making fragrances with good performance again. My gosh. No one listens or pays attention anymore. Do you want good stuff for your money or do u want crap. Your decision.

    Smell- 9/10
    Longevity-9/10( I get 10-11 hrs easy)
Projection- 8/10 ( heavy projection abt 3ft for 1-1.5hrs n then it becomes moderate… but dsnt become a skin scent)
    Compliments-9/10( ladies go crazy )
Versatility- casual / formal… but in my opinion it’s best suited fo casuals,,,

Basically I don’t like the citrus based summer scents, because each of them boring and lasts on my skin 3 hours, but this one really impressed me. Longevity is almost 8 hours, so this is the reason why I like Light Blue. Nothing special, nothing unique, but lasts long. The top and the mid notes are really good, I like the combination of grapefruit, rosemary, rosewood and pepper, but 2-3 hours later I get bit unpleasent soapy-musky base, which not my cup of tea…With better drydown, this could a perfect summer scent..
    – classic spring/summer, hot weather scent
    – despite this is a citrus/summer fragrance, has a good sillage and great longevity
    – safe blind buy

A traveler once wrote that paradise is not a place. It’s a feeling. I agree. And feelings can be evoked by art. Like books or stories. Music and songs. Fragrances, too… Dolce&Gabbana Light Blue Pour Homme conjures up that paradise vibe, as most reviewers already pointed out. Warm, comforting sun. Blue skies. Crystal-clear beach. White sand.
Despite that vibe, this fragrance is not in my top 3. But it’s the ladies’ top 1. A close friend of mine—a beautiful woman in her mid-thirties—told me that this scent is her favorite among my fragrances.
Sillage is within an arm’s length on this one, and that stays for five to six hours on skin. Overnight on clothes. In the dry-down, I find the incense note irresistible I constantly sniff myself just for that bit of incense. Glorious, I think.
This scent line has helped shape my generation since the beginning of this millennium, if you factor in its Pour Femme counterpart’s market existence. But as they say, one’s long-time success can be its downfall. With probably four reformulations since its release, D&G Light Blue Pour Homme has become so famous—mostly among consumers who won’t even bother what Fragrantica is—so a lot of people own it. A lot of companies cloned it. That shouldn’t be a big deal if smelling great is your main concern, and not the status quo in the air that only “fragheads” could smell.

Sweet citrus scent that suits well for the high heat summer days at the office. Longevity is poor, I get around 4 to 5 hours with 4-5 sprays. It has an arm length projection for the first 60-90 mins on my skin. Great scent for the office when it’s hot outside, I prefer Bleu (or other citrus scents) over this for the summer night days.

2015 reformulation ruin this gem and i hate it. Now it has bad scent and performance. I doesn’t project well after 1 hour. I love the 2014 version much better.

    Fragrance -Light Blue Dolce&Gabbana

    i disliked it at first
but when i over-spray & go into the scorching sun, i felt its magic.
it is fresh, metallic & masculine.
the silage is projection is good with over-spraying, the longevity is moderate…
    overall, 7/10 hot summer scent…
i might try the new intense version to solve the over-spraying issue…

Pretty good but not my favorite “fresh” warm weather scents to wear. Comes off as smelling too much like fabric softener for my nose. Still not bad at all and does change in the dry down, but not one of my first choices.

This Scent still gets the wildest reactions from the opposite sex. It’s so simple yet could become addictive for the right person. Citrus/Aquatics/Woods. It Projects very well in the high heat.

  45. :

    3 out of 5

Top and mid notes are really good. I actually prefer this over Versace Eau Fraiche as DnG LB stays longer than the first one. Maybe this fits better on my skin. One of my juices that i can say a compliment getter than the others.

  46. :

I got a vial of this fragrance for free with a purchase at Ulta, and I’m somewhat glad I didn’t purchase it. It’s a very very heady and strong scent; scents like this are the reason many people warn about overspraying.
It tries aggressively to be fresh and aquatic but doesn’t achieve the Mediterranean sex appeal of Acqua de Gio or the club-friendly machismo of Nautical Blue. Instead it falls somewhat awkwardly in the middle; aquatic notes and citrus are very strong from the get-go, with a difficult to identify slew of spices boiling underneath, and that reliable grounding musk note glowering in the back.
Very carefree, bright and summery, with fair sillage and extreme strength. Doesn’t say anything not said by tons of other such citrusy fragrances, and I myself would highly recommend going the extra 15 or so for a bottle of Acqua de Gio, but it’s a welcoming and pleasant scent, especially once you get past it’s initial blast.

  47. :

grapefruit top. Pepper at the heart, incense and cedar base with musk. unfortunately the musk does not work on me. but the top and mid last about 2 hours so if I need something casual I reach for it. 7/10

    Unforgettable!
Had this one and just can’t forget the scent, even after trying a lot of different ones. I mean, it’s clean, comfortable and make people get closer to you just to smell it.
I Finished a 4.2 Fl.oz and must buy another one as soon as possible.
    Simple, but amazing.

It’s not a showstopper, but it’s soooo happy. On me, it’s mostly citrus and a hint of juniper – a wearable gin and tonic.
I wear this men’s version and it’s quite feminine enough for a woman.

  54. :

    4 out of 5

Hm… nothing special about this. Disappointed, based on all he ‘rave’ reviews below I was indeed expecting more. Soapy and cheap-smelling (smells in fact like a toilet cleaner!) this was nothing but a turn off for me.

  55. :

    4 out of 5

I find this fragrance shines in scorching dry heat. I usually spray in borderline excess just to keep the silage going, but it’s refreshing never the less and far from anything remotely cloying. As safe as can be, and quite the crowd pleaser. You’ll smell it on your 3rd cousin twice removed & everyone in between, but we wear it for ourselves anyways. Don’t we?

  56. :

This fragrance is like Dior Sauvage in a way. I don’t like the scent very much but like Sauvage it gets you a ton of compliments. It’s a magnet when it gets to the salty dry down stage after an hour. It lasts about 4-6 hours which is not bad for an aquatic summer scent. I give this an 7.5/10 rating.

  57. :

    3 out of 5

For the folks who say this frag turns too sour: try heading to a Dior counter and ask for Dune edt for women. These two fumes are freakishly similar and wear like male colognes. The difference is that Dune’s base is richer and warmer.
    Both are lichen-woody-aquatic-mineral-salty 😉

  58. :

DG Light Blue along with Dior Sauvage are my most complimented fragrances that I own. I have a descent size collection, but for some reason, DG Light Blue is a chick magnet. I will always have this in my collection.

A great take on a fresh citrus scent, that features more woods and musk than most, making it just that bit more special. Performance and sillage are both what you would expect for the price (perfectly acceptable, nothing special). It’s easy to find in most major stores, so try and have a sniff!

dont get all the hate. on a hot summer day i find that even most popular summer fragrances such as aqua di cio . issey miyake , bvlgari blue all to be too strong and nauseating. They are better suited for summer nights if you ask me. this one though is just perfect. clean sour citrus and a sweet cooling mandarin mix with a touch of pepper and oak moss to give it masculine edge. the performance is actually very good. this one really reacts well when your body heats up and your sweating.i bought a tester for 45 dollars and i am very happy with my purchase.

  63. :

I don’t like this at all. It smells like some kind of industrial cleaner to me, I don’t know why. It smells like rubbing alcohol or fabric softener.
And I rather like Acqua di Gio.

  65. :

I think this is one of the most easy to wear cologne form D&G, nothing mind blowing, just a nice scent for a fresh start of the day. I would say a little bit over rated.

  66. :

    5 out of 5

An extremely calming and tamed scent. It smells clean and refreshing at the opening and gets more soothing as incense gets on the surface. It is classy, yet casual: a perfect scent for a printless T-shirt with nice pants or linen shirts.
I find it be quite unstable: at first, pepper was the strongest note, but after a few months, it was nearly unnoticable. Its still there, but I had to lower it from very intesive to noticable. Maybe my skin has changed, that is a possibility too. It is a nice, safe fragrance that has no wow factor, but is pleasing and girls love it. I get around 6h of it and medium projection, but sometimes it just suprises me with 10h and a strong aura after 5! It is unpredictable and I have to say I enjoy this crazy journey with it, for it might not be very interesting, but sure as hell isnt predictable. It is my summer-spring signature, but I will not reby it, since I got it when I was just getting into fragrances and I would like to get something more complex in the future, but I might keep it for the old times sake. One thing is sure – I will keep the bottle, since it has so many memories of just having fun with this casual and modern beauty.

  67. :

D&G Light Blue Pour Homme is a compliment magnet. Its not unique, it will not blow your mind, but it smells great and it works. It is a citrus and spicy fragrance, very clean and seductive, with a touch of class. On my skin, longevity and projection is moderate. The scent is easy to kill if you’re a smoker.
If you’re looking for a scent that is complex and full of character, avoid this one, it’ll disappoint you.
If you’re looking for a scent that is clean and safe, and that will please people, garner compliments, try this one.

I remember getting some sample spray vials of Light Blue off the bay years ago and it smelled terrible. Harsh and chemical smelling. Recently got a bottle from a trusted source and it smells totally different. I’m surprised that I can’t even trust ebay for samples.
It’s still just an ok scent for me. It lasts but projection is quite light. The citrus opening isn’t bad but there’s something about the eventual drydown that I don’t like. It kinda goes sour on me. For fresh, clean, summer, citrusy scents, I enjoy Versace Man Eau Fraiche and others more than this.

This stuff smells great. A safe blind buy. A female coworker told me I smelled like sex. (In a good way) check it out. I have been noticing a lot of dislikes towards this fragrance. The name of the scent is “Light Blue” meaning it is a “light” scent. It is not suppose to be loud. If you are looking for something loud look elsewhere. LB It is a very fresh and clean scent perfect for the office.

  77. :

    4 out of 5

This is one of the most vile fragrances I’ve ever had the misfortune of smelling. To me, its smells primarily of rubbing alcohol, a violent, nose-piercing woody amber, and a briny, metallic marine accord. It feels like someone’s shoved an ice pick up your nose and is trying to pierce your brain. I could not tolerate being around anyone who chose to wear this on purpose – as I’d question their sanity.

Longevity and projection sucks big time! You can pour a whole bottle on yourself, still you won’t overapply it.

Wife loved this one, said it was her favorite. Interesting and light without being feminine. Great as a daily wear for the warmer seasons.

I got this from a bargain store and I must say that I did not regret buying this as my wife really did like this to the point that she started wearing it, the smell is really that good, although there is more to be attained as far as sillage is concerned not to mention the longevity which only lasts up to 4 hous or so but then again it is a fresh acquatic scent which means it should be light as the name implies. Buy this one and it will make you feel refreshed specially on the hi temperature environment.

A girlfriend recommended it to me, so I tried it at the store, it was nice, so I bought it. It is very popular on-line, but nothing very special to me. Light, fresh and clean smelling. When I use up the bottle, I won’t buy a replacement. There are much better fragrances out there.

Beach, sun, summer, sea. Awesome combination, scent stays the same the whole drydown.
Not complex, but also not offensive.
    Rating
    Scent 6.8/10
Nothing special, but it’s a nice comfortable fresh scent, not soapy.
    Longevity 6.9/10
    Around 4+ hours.
    It’s a light summer scent
    Projection/sillage 6.2/10
EdT concentration, also notes are lights. So projection is accordingly.
    Pricing 7.0/10
Not too expensive for its performance.
    It’s oke.
    Overall rating 6.5/10
    It’s simple clean working scent.

Unimaginative. Boring. One knowledgeable critic called it the “nadir of male perfumery”…and I wholeheartedly agree. The “ultimate most boringestest” out of all that I’ve tried. And I own and have tried a whole damn lot. However, the “biggest bore ever” factor did provide further impetus for me to try and craft mixing essential oils for myself.
Everyone should try Light Blue to see what I’m talking about and to know to what extremes the boringness will motivate you to do.

I tried Light Blue with an open mind, and have to say it isn’t all bad.
Light Blue’s been a smash hit for D&G and for good reason. It ticks all the mainstream succes boxes – easy to wear, a bit generic and quite boring.
It opens with a nice sparkly fresh blast of grapefruit. I also get hints of bergamot and mandarin. It’s quite sweet and pleasing to the nose.
The middle stage is a fairly uneventful spicy mix of pepper and perhaps a tiny bit of rosewood.
The base is your typical non-descript aquatic base – a hint of musk and faux-woods.
Light Blue is nothing to get excited about at all. It’s the anti-matter to the devoted perfumista. It’s bland, quite synthetic and boring.
However these issues are not necessarily Light Blue’s fault. I think it comes down to the aquatic template as a whole. Acqua di Gio managed to balance a salty marine accord with a great sour citrus accord, and made a great aquatic. However, none of the aquatics that came after have really surpassed AdG in my opinion. Surely they are nice and all, but it’s almost as if they are too similar to AdG.
But, I can’t fault Light Blue for this. You have to remember that Light Blue was never intended to be a niche superstar. It was intended to sell in mass volumes to teenagers and young adults who just wanted to smell good. It certainly accomplishes that, though I think there are far better options out there.
Longevity is quite bad. 2-3 hours at best.

I was thinking of giving a try to this one for a long time, and finally I got a small bottle on sale, so I am wearing it today, and the first impression at the opening it reminded me right away to Aqua de Gio and obviously Perry Ellis Red. It has a kind of loud opening of citruses, but very light dry down after 2 hrs. I wonder what all the many other flankers are about from this cologne. I have seen and read reviews about this on being a compliment getter but so far nothing. 🙁
I will update this later the end of the day and maybe after another try.
I love how the 1.2 oz small bottle looks, very cute. I think this is still pricey considering it’s been a while that it came out, even on fragrancenet. I rather by some of the other D&G’s for that price.

A high quality citrus scent in a similar vein to Acqua Di Gio. Best in summer; adequate for cooler weather. The projection is initially very high but within a half-hour it’s a light fragrance. It’s pleasant, safe, won’t offend anyone and is overall an elegant well-made fresu fragrance.
You can get this one at Beautyspin from $30-40, making this a very good value and a solid choice for a first cologne.

    received my decant today,
and yes.. i have to be agree on “light scent”, dunno why but this performs under average on my skin.
it doesnt project, and it lasts for about hour or so. too bad 🙁
i was expecting something more fresher and spicier.
overall : try before you buy !

I find this to be a light and clean scent that is slightly more subdued than similar colognes. Granted, I was hoping for a bit more longevity, but still, I think that D&G Light Blue Pour Homme is a rather dependable scent in the warmer weather.

This a calm and relaxing scent and it’s different from most summer scent , even thou people complain for the longevity and sillage I have stronger fragrance but this one anytime I wear it to work when I open my locker to get ready for home after a long shift the scent left on my clothes is very strong and smell so good

Light and breezy , excellent for spring and warmer months, sillage and longevity for this type aromatic fragrance is better than good,I’ve been rocking this puppy today and the lingering drydown is quite pleasant.

There’s a reason why some fragrances are popular, and why many people wear them. It’s because they smell good, like this one.
I’ve tried my fair share of niche, vintage etc., and while I can appreciate the “art”, most of them are not well received by the people around me.
One might call this “generic” in that it smells like very many other fragrances in the same genre, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It’s a smell that people can relate to and evokes a laidback state of mind.
I can’t count the times I’ve worn a rare, highly appreciated perfume in the fragrance community (let’s say Patou Pour Homme), only to hear “Jesus, man, what the hell are you wearing?” I’ve often found pleasure in wearing a fragrance I know most people won’t be wearing, but that doesn’t mean I’m doing myself any favors.
I’ve probably been somewhat of a perfume snob for a few years, but that hasn’t been working out too well for my wallet or senses.
In conclusion (and back to Light Blue), longevity and sillage are excellent, it smells great and chicks love it.

I’ve had this since it’s launch in 2007. It’s an extraordinary summer fragrance that gets shit on but really shouldn’t. I cant speak on newer batches but the 2007 bath I have last a hella long time. Starts off as a citrus and incense bomb. Nice strong and fresh, even a little piercing at first. But within a few hours it dries down into an ambery woodsy and slightly green pleasant scent. This is the best part IMO and it also projects very nicely and for a long time when it dries down. I don’t get complimented that often when i first apply it it. But hours later when that terrific dry down hits people are always telling me I smell great.
Perhaps i’m lucky because I have an original batch, per
