Description

At the end of August 2013Yves Saint Laurent will offer another version of the original fragrance L’Homme from 2006. The first fragrance was succeeded by several different versions, most of which were created for warm days. As contrast to fragrances L’Homme L’Eau d’Ete, Cologne Gingembre, LIbre or L’Homme Tonic launched this year, Yves Saint Laurent announces a more intense L’HOMME PARFUM INTENSE.

The new perfume, L’Homme Parfum Intense will announce the fall collection by YSL. The warmer and more intense composition is signed by perfumers Anne Flipo and Dominique Ropion, created of a blend of citruses, spices, woody and floral notes. The perfume opens with lemon, bergamot and black pepper. Heart of the composition is highlighted with orange blossom and Indian davana blossom (artemisia), along with woody accords and ambergris in drydown.

The fragrance arrives in a flacon shaped like previous editions with hexagonal stopper made of silver metal, differing in color of liquid, which is colored in warm amber shade this time. YSL L’Homme Parfum Intense will be available as 60 and 100ml.

A nice ambergris scent on a woody base. I get cinnamon, vanilla and a slightly boozy kind of vibe. Maybe a something little floral off in the distance.
Sexy stuff! A little more formal and slightly masculine but I think most can wear it. Cuddly for the cold weather. Lasted around six hours with average performance. The notes aren’t super nuanced but it smells great. Bottle looks good and it’s reasonably priced. I took an ex perfume shopping for her birthday once and she chose this. The smell reminds me of her. Hope she kept the bottle. Excellent parfum!

This is an amazing fragrance and I absolutely love it! This juice is amazing! I usually go with 4-5 sprays and it lasts all day. My wife also loves this frag! I highly recommend it!

I have a 10ml travel spray/deluxe sample of this, which I accidentally ordered instead of L’Homme Ultime in the same format. Woops…
As many others have noted, this has really poor longevity on me. It lasts better on my clothes than my skin. Upon spray, I initially pick out the citrus and slightly incensed opening, with the resinous drydown, but this stuff honestly goes to barely more than a skin-scent within an hour on me. Would much prefer as a room scent – very fresh and lovely. Will update with notes of performance on my obliging husband…
Update: I actually pick out the orange blossom immediately on my husband, plus a slight soapiness that I currently attach to Iso Super E, but pleasant. Can’t speak to the sillage, as I’ve already gone pretty much nose-blind to the stuff tonight. We’ll see.

To me, this smells like a hug with a hunk next to a fireplace. Which is to say, if you don’t overdo it and have what it takes, it can be really good. Pretty linear especially when worn on fabric. Notes of bubblegum, tobacco, leather, amber, pine, vanilla with woody drydown.

At this point, I have to admit that I’m an YSL L’Homme girl, as I like many versions from this line and also the house (including the La Nuit line). I appreciate their gentle and rich, smooth and deep, light and mature, sexy and sophisticated characters. This Parfum Intense is actually a love at the first sniff for me.
Even though Montblanc men’s fragrances suit my husband’s chemistry the best, YSL products are not far behind. I personally like them a lot, more as for my own guilty pleasure 🙂 The number one distinguished feature of YSL fragrances for men, in general, is their manly sensual effect that impresses me a great deal, and always draws me closer, to choose them over many fragrances from other houses. L’Homme Parfum Intense, again, won my vote in that regard.
It opened up with a gently “sweet” musk and refreshing citrusy scents, very inviting and attractive. It then pulled me closer with the most beautiful fluffy orange blossom combining with smooth “green” and masculine peppery bergamot. The cozily warm comforting cedar wood, soft and luxurious suede in the dry down made me wanna roll up and cuddle.
I’m also aware of the fact that perfume industry has been through ups and downs in quality and scent reformulating during the last decade. I’m just gonna state my opinion based on the most current experiences that I had with any fragrance, without comparing it with the previous releases. If the new formula does not cut it for me at all, then I’ll move on to a different one. If it still satisfies me enough at some levels, then I’m still gonna enjoy it, until the next change, as I don’t wanna “dwell in the past” or chase down just a bottle of liquid from the past 🙂 There are always more new scents to be explored and discovered.
Having said that, L’Homme Parfum Intense is still such a effortlessly romantic men’s fragrance to me. Another best part is that my husband also knows what he can gain from this fragrance 🙂

This is a nice fragrance for the colder seasons, the smell is sweet, powdery, complex and woody.
Very casual-friendly but when dressed up it really fits the “classy” vibe.
Performance is strong in the beginning but drys down into a weak skin scent quickly. Its a solid date-night scent but I would reach for La Nuit first over this option.
Overall its a solid fragrance just dont buy full retail, as I dont feel the scent is anything ground-breaking, enjoy!

Definitely my least favorite in the YSL Men’s collection. It has a good enough start, but the end note is simply old manny. I know that there is a market for that, and I would say that it is probably a great fathers day gift for dad or grandpa. But husband…no way Jose. We still have 30+ years before I would do that to him.

The more this dries down on paper I get similarities to Dolce Intenso. Very soft dryer sheet fresh. They are similar yet seem to go different directions if that makes sense.

    This smells very lovely.
Overall, but it still doesn’t last.
So carry a travel atomizer to fix the issue.
    Short but sweet…
I used six sprays…both wrist, back & front of my neck, chest, and front of my shirt.
Will I buy this again?…Yes(If I can find it).
What’s the strength of this? EDP.
Can you use it as a unisex scent? No.
Am I willing to trade this fragrance? No.
Should You Skip It, Sample It First or Blind Buy It? I say Sample it first.

One could ask oneself if this really is a flanker of the original “L’Homme”?
Regardless them being so different I just LOVE this fragrance. It’s so alluring and sexy.
Projects amazingly and leaves a nice trail.

Like Le Male by JP Guiltier, this immediately smells sensational. Bought it 30 seconds after smelling. Once I got used to the heart notes and base it still was a great scent, not the bang Le Male was. Which a lot of anything negative is being paired next to that scent. A good addition to a collection, and certain times you know this is right.
Second date, evening come to my head. Thumbs up.

Very much like a cross between L’Homme and D&G The One, but even better. Amazing. The best way to describe it is extremely pleasant. Very smooth and not harsh at all.

  18. :

    4 out of 5

I have a love/hate relationship with Lhomme Intense.
The scent is without a doubt sophisticated and classy. The sillage is far more pleasant than the smell on skin or clothes.
But if you spray too much especially on the same spot, it becomes cloying, sticky bubble gum type of a scent as it is very sweet / creamy.
If used in cold weather for formal or romantic occasions with few sprays that are sprayed from a distance. It becomes very luxurious and pleasant as it is domenated by ambergris/amber. Synthetic ambergris but very smooth, classy and well done unlike the trending harsh ambroxan bombs.
Longevity is good but not as you might initially think with its strong and heavy opening.
It has vibes from the original YSL Lhomme, Invictus, jimmy choo intense.

Wearing Zara Pour Homme Night III (PH3) on one hand and YSL L’Homme Parfum Intense (LPI) on the other.
Smelling side by side on the dry down, they’re similar enough where a non-discerning nose wouldn’t be able to tell the difference unless they’re in a position to take long whiffs.
There’s a level of refinement to LPI that’s more polished with better quality ingredients. As a result, the projection and performance are greater than PH3 but not significantly, not marginally either.
My experience with PH3 is that it lasts the 8 hours with a steady projection within an arm’s reach in the first four hours when applied behind the ears and into the hair.
With LPI, the projection is more concentrated where it felt more deliberate leaving a sillage trail that cuts the cold where I clearly pick it up past the first four hours. This is having only applied it to the back of my hand for testing purposes. Given that I had to shower at the 8-hour mark, I could definitely foresee it lasting well into 10-12 hours.
I would describe this as L’Homme Parfum Intense is to Subaru’s BRZ as Zara Pour Homme Night III is to Toyota’s 86/FRS. You get the same performance experience and they’re very close approximation given that most of the platform is very similar but one is more polished and provides a better driving experience.
    TLDR;
While I purchased LPI at price point that beats most online discount retailers by a few dollars, the overall composition isn’t different enough to warrant a place in my collection. Having said that, had I acquired LPI first before PH3, it would be the other way around.
    – Great Execution
    – Great Performance
    – Solid Composition
At $69.99 at the time of this writing for 100ml (3.3 fl oz) + 33ml (1.2 fl oz), a great value.

This does not get the love it deserves. This is a wonderful pleasing scent with very good longevity, though I am in the minority that gets good performance out of l’homme, though this is superior. It’s a 10 for me.

This was a gift to me and quite in similar to CD Intense. However, Dior Intense is greater in projection with its Iris, Lavender scent coupled with musk. Good for an evening but this dries off quickly on my skin and wont last like the CD Intense which has a marathon longevity.

I liked the way it smelled six hours after it was on my skin and clothes. I loved the way it smelled after I dipped my arm in the pool (no clue why, but the pool seems to do this a lot to me). Hated it upon spraying, tolerated it throughout the morning.
Initially, it smelled like something between cheerios and urine. Then…powder.

Zara’s Gold for him was released in 2015.
L’homme Parfum Intense was released in 2013.
Don’t accuse this scent of being a Zara knockoff. At least know what you’re talking about before making such accusations. Just lol at everyone jumping on the Zara hype as of late.

YSL has earned the reputation of delivering classy and sophisticated juice bottles and Perfume Intense is one such example. This is so powerful in everything–smell, longevity and silage. My first impression was so spicy when I first sprayed on me and could smell floral notes subsequently. When over-sprayed, it can mute your nose because it is so strong. Please don’t wear this when the temperature is hot/warm because the difference is makes between colder and warmer months is like drinking a cold pop versus drinking one that was sitting in the sun.
To me the smell was unbearable when wearing on warmer days but it does a magic when it’s cold. I knew I over sprayed on a few occasions because it blocked my sniffing ability.
Very classy and very elegant when worn appropriately. This goes well with well-dressed gentleman who is classy. This cologne is not for dudes that is fully covered with tattoos or men who have no class.
    Projection: 9/10
    Longevity: 9/10
    Smell: 9/10

I had high hopes for this to become my favorite. I have been very disappointed with most frags when I compare a full bottle to the sample that turned me on and that is exactly what happened here. I obtained a spray sample which must have been from an older batch because it did smell a bit sweeter… irregardless of the slight difference, I LOVE THIS SCENT! It is one of the best in that category IMO, but I am entirely let down because the longevity is crap. I have sprayed this on now 4-5 times in 2 days.
I will probably use this bottle up because it smells so nice but it cannot be my favorite due to the longevity factor. It does stay on my shirt for quite a bit longer but I do not want to become a shirt sniffer. I want to be able to spray on a nice scent late and then wake up to that scent… I woke up mid morning and wanted to smell it again and so I sprayed it on again, and then went back to sleep but upon awakening it’s gone, I have to reach for the bottle, AGAIN…
Such a tease this L’Homme… I think this was intended to function like a Parfum. Obviously I don’t think it does. This must be the reason why its discontinued.. I will go for Armani Code Profumo when I begin to run out because the scent is not far off I don’t think, and the longevity for that frag is rated very high by other fragrantiacs.
I will have to explore more niche frags and perhaps spend some time comparing the juice that exists in the $200 and up category.

This is a smooth, creamy type of vibe.
For me it’s a good one to reach for in the fall, some winter nights.
Warm and rich. Not for the hot days.
It’s not like the original L’Homme, it’s much stronger and lasts longer, and comes with a whole different drive on the senses.

My husband wears this now. Tried a lot of the YSL fragrances but we both love love love this one. It smells sooo good to me. Hunky, smooth, and there is something in it that makes me want to stay close to him all day or night. Husband material. A big time keeper. Not sure what notes I can pick out – sorry, I just can’t identify what is so good about it – but the dry down is amaaaazing. Actually, from start to finish I like it. But I know how it gets on his skin after a while so I look forward to that!

  33. :

Out of all the mediocre L’Intense, Parfum flanker crap from Yves Saint Laurent in the L’Homme and La Nuit series in the recent years, this is my favorite one. Addicting and has character, but like many other fragrances, the name Intense isn’t justified. Not only that, but this fragrance is called freaking “Parfum Intense”, so not only do you expect it to be of parfum concentration, but you have intense on top of that again, making you rightfully think this should be a beast. But it’s not. It’s as intense and beastly as a grumpy cat. Really.
7/10 – For the misleading name, I’d give it less, but the scent itself justifies a mere 7.

  34. :

Sweet white floral. Yes. Sweet white floral. This is unisex. Heck, this could be feminine as well but it does smell good. Really good. Like.

  35. :

    4 out of 5

My third favorite in the L’Homme line…. If you are looking for a stronger version of L’Homme you’ll probably be disappointed, this scent goes in a different direction.
However the scent is awesome, performance could be better though.

  36. :

    3 out of 5

Originally, I really liked this. I thought it was dark and woody and sweet, but wearing it again today, I’m not sure that I like it as much as I did originally. Today, the ambergris is really standing out to me, much in the manner that the ambroxan does in Dior Sauvage, but I’m finding I don’t enjoy large doses of ambergris.
Performance is acceptable I suppose. EDP’s don’t typically do well on my skin for some reason, however L’Homme Ultime is the one exception, lasting 9+ hours. This on the other hand, does not perform as well as Ultime. This lasts 5-6 hours maybe? But that seems to be the consensus from others as well.
I think the key to liking this scent is being in the mood for it, but it’s a little hard to classify, and for that reason, a little hard to choose to wear. It’s a bit L’Homme, a bit Dior Sauvage, a bit Versace Dylan Blue, a bit 1 Million or Paco Rabanne sweetness, and overall, a bit mysterious. I like the mysterious aspect of it. It sometimes reminds me of Gonesh brand incense, which is nice, but I think the ambergris is just a bit too heavy in the beginning for me to enjoy this one as much as I could. The dry down at the 3 hour mark is amazing, but by that time, it’s not projecting very far.
If you love this one, I won’t judge you one bit! It’s pleasant, don’t get me wrong, but for me, this scent just goes in too many directions.

Spent the night with a man who wore this…
    Mmmmmm! Amber-y and woody goodness.

  38. :

    4 out of 5

I would describe this as the little brother to Christian Dior Homme Parfum. Less of a woody scent and more on the sweeter side if thats what you’re into. I tried wearing it during the summer and it made me nauseous, but during the colder months it worked out great. I wouldn’t spray more than 4-5 times in one setting. (It can be overwhelming). Not my favorites among the YSL Homme releases, but still a good fragrance.
    Scent – 8/10
    Projection – 8/10
    Longevity – 8/10
    Overall – 8/10

  39. :

I got to know this great scent at the airport Duty Free by a very kind young girl seller who gave me some good advice.
My personal opinion is that you got to know your skin and favorite smells (ingredients) and actively ask for feedback from people around you.
I personally go for the scents that I feel and like to smell the whole day!
By first impression of a spray, you get a lot of Ambergris and orange blossom with a light citrus, violet leafy background with a pleasant soft suede leathery accompaniment!
Highly recommended for fall and it is a sweet, clear masculine scent with slightly feminine characteristics!
The only issue with it that after a couple of hours it turns to a skin scent with a weak projection!
    In general on my skin:
    Scent: 8.5/10
    Projection: 7/10
    Longevity: 7.5/10
    Price: moderate
    Overall: 8/10

Sickly sweet. Very, very strong synthetic orange and some ambergris is all I ever got from this fragrance. One of the biggest dislikes and dissapointments, since the YSL house is one of my favorites, right up there with Dior.
    Unisex at best

I got a compliment by a male barista when I was paying for my coffee. He asked me the name of the perfume because I “smelled good”.
If you spray this fragrance on your hand and smell it closely, you won’t like it! What you have to do is to smell it from a distance to enjoy it. The notes make this perfume smell very pleasing, sweet, warm, comforting and elegant.
To me, this flanker is like the day version of La Nuit De L’homme

I must of tried 20 different fragrances in the airport before I decided on this one ..bearing in mind I had nose fatigue and sort of made my mind up on another fragrance I was going to buy. I tried this and straight away the class and elegance stood out a mile. I get a very sweet feminine amber ..slight leather and the faintest of tabacco ..like a miliscule but mainly sweet luxury.I won’t lie and find it difficult to say but I do get a one million similarity but it’s only a similarity ..this fragrance is like one million in a tuxedo. Performs fantastically on my skin and I have skin that eats fragrance ..I get 7 hours at least

I tried this at Ysl stall and on me it’s a very sweet gourmand perfume. I can smell the citrus mixed with flowers at the top, the middle and base notes are not very distinguishable and they are mainly formed of florals, and plenty of abrogate and a lot of soft refined leather, very unlike the leather in TL for example. I can also smell woody aroma that mixes with ambergris and leather.
It’s a complex perfume and I appreciate it, but I don’t like very sweet perfumes for men. The ambergris here kills it for me, I would consider it if it had less sweet smell in the main body of perfume.
It has very good sillage and longevity, unlike the rest of l’homme line.
I can understand why people compare this to 1 million, it’s because of the gourmand class they are both in, but they do smell quite different.
One tip here, this perfume really smells better on smokers, as the smoke balances the gourmand nicely (remember smoking is bad for your health! )

I liked the sample I bought a 100ml on eBay. Ambergris and Orange blossom are the main notes its fresh and i get a soapy feel. With people complaining how YSL is watering down the Lhomme line, this one is, indeed intense. One spray on the back of my hand, its still there and can smell it from a far. This is a winner for me and it should have been its own fragrance and not a “flanker”.
Scent:4/5(first time smelling ambergris and now my favorite)

    Projection:5/5(5 sprays and its beast-mode)

I have to vehemently disagree with everyone who says this smells like PB 1mil (also why do so many people say that SO many scents smell like 1mil!!??) it doesn’t. It reminds me a lot of Jimmy Choo man or even Givenchy Pi.
It’s sweet and resinous and I have literally never worn it out without getting a compliment from a total stranger. Yes the projection leaves something to be desired but the longevity is very nice and the scent stays pretty linear which is fine for me since the scent is so nice.
If you like Givenchy Pi or Jimmy Choo man or Dolce and Gabanna the one: you will probably love this.

I was recently on a long flight to LA. Unfortunately, I’m one of those people who can’t sleep on planes at all so I spent a lot of time standing up near the emergency door to pass the time. This particular steward kept walking up and down the aisle and every time he did I got a whiff of the most amazing scent i have ever smelled on another man. Eventually I stopped him and asked what it was. Naturally, he looked at me as if I was insane and told me it was YSL – “the perfume one”. The next day I went straight to Macy’s and there it was. I took one sniff and was overwhelmed by a plastic, sickly mess that was only vaguely similar to the scent on the plane.
Someone once said to me that you should never meet your idols because you’ll only be disappointed. I wish I hadn’t asked what this fragrance was. The mystery of never knowing would have made the memory of this scent so much more enjoyable.

Just got a 60 ml bottle of this and I am lost for words. This has to be THE BEST scent I have ever smelt. It is such a warm and comforting scent that has brilliant longevity and projection. I sprayed the original on to a test strip and although it smelt nice, it started to fade pretty rapidly, I then sprayed this and I must say it smells completely different to the original, it is a much better smelling scent and it has the staying power and the projection to go with it. I am tempted to go and buy another bigger bottle before ysl reformulate it and ruin it like they do with all their other fragrances. Class in a glass 10/10 A+++++

EDIT # 3 on this fragrance, simply crazy! Wouldn’t you know this WAS my least liked fragrance in my collection and its the one that gets most compliments when i wear it – go figure! It is now my signature scent!
i loved it at first but fell out of love quickly and now love it again, though i had to add the fact that it gets a compliment every time i wore it, crazy!
Strong, almost whoa what’s going on blast of orange blossom sharp and intense opening, but once the dust settles a very sweet, albeit not cloyingly delicious fragrance emerges. I get a slight apple pie-ish accord, with a tad of play-doh in the background.
You definitely get a slight musky vibe in the dry down, but definitely a very grown-up, not candy sweet fragrance.
    overall I give this a strong 9/10.
I have heard people bashing this fragrance from Youtube to even comments on here. People put la nuit above this and I’m glad they do – that way they can smell like every other guy does with all the hype around that, while i enjoy my delicious parfum intense all by myself!
I better hoarde this before the reformulations strike, as they usually do.

How could anyone not love this, or at the very least not even like it??? I don’t know that you could get more un-audaciously, yet unabashedly sophisticated than this. I would normally say “in my opinion” when analyzing something so subjective in nature as fragrance, but I’m pretty sure my opinion doesn’t matter on this one. Truth be told, it’s just objectively a far better version of D&G’s ‘The One’, regardless of my opinion.

As many may think this is a flanker of the original, it’s not.
Yves never published this as a flanker, but as a intense new fragrance, and that’s what it is,
Although adding more and more without ever actually improving the fragrance makes me understand why people get annoyed by such Popular Brands.
    About the scent.
It’s rich, sweet and smells like a full Woody leather energy fragrance.
    I like it.
Were here to review the fragrance, not to review the company which many are doing lately on Yves Saint Laurent.
So instead of commentary on company let’s start the rating.
    Scent 8.4/10
I love the scent, somehow a uber sweet orange blossom start, dries down in a more interesting leathery Cedar Woody scent.
    Feels like luxurious manliness.
    Longevity 6.5/10
They call it a eau de parfum, but it acts more like a eau de toilette.
With this concentration it has a hard time reaching the 6 hours Threshold.
That’s a shame for such a beautiful product.
    Projection/sillage 6.3/10
Same story, if they said it was a eau de toilette, I would rate it higher.
    Pricing 6.1/10
Too bad for a popular brand, they price it as such.
And for shortcomings in its performance I cannot rate it any higher.
    Overall Rating 6.9/10
    Price/performance/marketing you get the story.
Nevertheless I am still very happy that I added this fragrance to my collection.

For me it’s so extremely disappointing and annoying that nowadays they (producing companies and their marketing team) have the “guts” to release a perfume product titled as ‘Parfum Intense’ (which suggests highly concentrated formula, extraordinary strong, very intense and extra long lasting) that is not even more intense or longer lasting than an average eau de toilette!
    Really? Parfum? Intense? Parfum Intense?
Even my (Eau de Toilette) Chanel Egoiste or Joop Homme or Opium PH etc. is stonger than this, projects better and lasts longer than this ‘Parfum Intense’. This is a joke!
I’m furious (for such bald lie and making us fools by such titles)!
And 1 more thing: Why call it with a name that is flanker of an existing (and popular) fragrance when it has nothing, really nothing to do with the original creation?
If anyone blind tested YSL L’homme and Parfum intense together, no one would ever say that they are related at all.

    GORGEOUS.
I purchased this for my husband, and knew right away it was worthy of a proper review.
This is the olfactory equivalent of sipping a really smooth cognac. Not because they smell the same, but because of how smoothly and well crafted this blend is.
YSL L’Homme Parfum Intense is a very sophisticated soft spicy blend that effectively expresses that a man’s fragrance can really be something sumptuous. It smells expensive, but approachable, and the base of amber and woods show up pretty quickly but never in an emboldened or overly heavy way. Thankfully the pepper is gone near immediately, and it starts to become clear that emphasis in this fragrance is on the quality. There is a subtle sweetness in this mixture, nothing overt, just really nice. This is one of the first colognes that pulled me in to learn about one of it’s more mysterious notes…Ambergris. I’ll admit I was fascinated learning about it. Just one more reason scent is always more complex than we give it credit for. Overall, this is very well done men’s fragrance that lingers in the sensual, and is a round, classy, pleasing aroma. Great scent, and surprisingly good lasting power.
    Scent: 10/10
    Longevity: 6+ Hours….Really!

another decent selection from the house of YSL
if your looking for a good winter scent that wont break the bank and smells like it should cost above its price range then this is the scent for you!
its defiantly a designer/department store scent but its been refined by the house to standout a little more then the rest
the opening is very sweet and i can see where some may say its heady but as long as you dont over spray you shou
