Description
Cristiano Ronaldo is not only a world-famous football player and celebrity, he also represents his own brand. His first perfume, Legacy, was launched in the fall of 2015. Legacy Private Edition is his new edition, announced as more rich, more elegant and sophisticated.
From the woody – aromatic composition of the original Legacy, to the oriental – ambery one in Legacy Private Edition, his fragrance offers traditional masculine notes. Aromas of fresh basil and neroli are enriched with maple syrup on top. Woody notes of sandalwood, cedar and clearwood blend with sensual tonka bean and form the heart of the perfume. Warm amber and vanilla in the base are rounded by moss and musk.
The fragrance comes in a blue bottle decorated with copper accents. Available as a 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum. Legacy Private Edition was launched in 2016.

Amazing! Tried in shop – loved it – sharp clean coffee-like note (that doesn’t smell exactly like coffee) – definitely has a characteristically unique, expensive and classy (very slightly oudish) vibe. My daughter hated the smell and would tell my wife if I bought this one, so I had to refrain from buying. One of the best low-budget celebrity fragrances that has come out in a while I think (although not that low-budget). Pleasant resulting vanilla dry down. I recommend getting your nose on this one.

Although I like maple syrup note, here it reminds me caramel which I’m not fond of it. It also leaves oily stain on the skin which is good imo. Suitable for spring, fall and cool summer evenings.
The opening is pungent, bold and beautiful but in a few minutes it settles down to a moderate sillage/projection scent. It is long lasting but stays close to the skin most of its life.
Dominant notes are caramel (or maple syrup according to the note pyramide), strong tonka beans, noticeable sandalwood and strong ambroxan. As time passes this note becomes even stronger and slightly burns my nose. There are also tiny & faint traces of vanilla and neroli.
Overall the vibe I get from Legacy Private is something sweet (but not overly sweet) and ambroxan.
This is not similar but it’s in the same team and slightly better imo without the annoying ambroxan effectAzzaro Decibel

Lovely fragrance. Bit sweet, but well balanced. The dry down is just awesome. Love the vanilla and maple syrup combo. Got a lot of compliments from woman and men as well. I just got this EDP for a steal in Holland: 50ml for just 15 euro! Longevity is great, wearing it now for 8.5 hours and i still smell the perfume. Sillage is just above average. All and all a must have in your collection.

I was the first to react here on this fragrance before I had it. Now after owning it for about a year and a half I come back. Not with a review but with a comparison.
But first, it would be nice if the frag community could judge this one for it’s merits.
Blind bought this one after the original Legacy, which we tested first for me and my eldest son because I like it and I am a great fan of Ronaldo. He is my compatriot. I’m biased. Sure I am.
I prefer the original.
Today I received Pal Zileri Viaggio D’Africa. Quite a popular fragrance in the community but hard to get.
Although it is a very hot day here (26-28 C) Too hot for these 2, I am comparing both on skin and on paper.
First half hour:
The same scent as Cristiano Ronaldo Legacy Private Edition.
Only that one is far stronger. Is an EDP.
According to the note breakdown here Viaggio a l’Africa has the same bases notes as CL Private Edition middle notes.
After a little more than 2 hours Viaggio a L’Africa is taking a nap. It’s still there, I hear it snoring, but CR private edition is still kicking and jumping as when it left from it’s spray.
Now this is where the testing ends, because I am going to take a shower. Curious to see what is left of both afterwards. will try to treat them fairly.
Private Edition is still there. So is Viaggio a l’Africa though very faint now.
On paper this one is now getting sweeter. Subtle, very much like Colonia Purissima is. I get the Vetiver now. And Ink.
Private Edition on paper, still maintains the odd top note of maple syrup. Maybe it’s linear, maybe the drydown is yet to start.
Great projection. performs far better than pal Zileri. That is for sure.
By the way: Here in the Netherlands I can buy Private Edition now for 16 €/50 ML. I had bought an additional 30 LM bottle last month for 12.95 €. Couldn’t leave it there. Not that I will run out of my 50 ML bottle soon, because I rarely use it. But that doesn’t mean it’s not good.
It is unique because it’s unlike anything else I own. So is the original Legacy for that matter.(A little bit weird Apple/Cinnamon combination), but still very cozy and likeble. More than the Private Edition
Would like to hear the opinion of fragrance connaisseurs on the comparison.

Best vanilla mix. Good perfume! Love to wear it at gym, training or at soccer/football. It’s a nice scent and lasts almost 6 hours.

Its very incense and spice based with sweetness in a very medieval way
Reminds me of Portugal in the evening with fire burning and everyone enjoying a meal in the country house farm

I can sense the quality of this fragrance… really. But on my skin the maple syrup tone is just a bit harsh. Almost like a curry note. But on my friend it smells marvellous! Alltho he can’t pull of D&G the one edp (I know… weird), it smells like rom and coke on him. But The One edp works amazing on me so
It is a really nice one even if I can’t pull it off. Not a safe blind buy, but try to get your nose in this. Be sure tu spray on skin because on paper it is whole other fragrance.

I quite enjoyed the original and I’d even sniffed out CR7 (the release that came out after this one) before I got my nose on this and I gotta say, I’m a little disappointed. Private edition is a bit like I imagine the man himself to smell, brash, over the top and sickly sweet. I don’t mind a sweet fragrance at all and the thought of maple notes gets me really excited but this don’t do it for me I’m afraid.
The opening is an intoxicating cloud, a kind of dirty vanilla blob, which put me in mind of that tonka bean craze of a few years back. There’s an amber warmth but it’s very cheap smelling and I’ve not idea what other notes are there because frankly it’s a bit of a mess. One thing I will say for it, Private edition is in keeping with the line and does have a certain unique quality (maybe it’s that maple? I’ll have to wear it again) which will be striking to some and is what I liked about the original. However, It’s not unique in a good way, it’s more a ‘who can make the ickiest, gourmand chemical bomb on the market?’ kinda way and that’s not big or clever. Sorry Cristiano, I don’t hate this and I will try it again but my gut says thumbs down and I don’t think that’s gonna change.

Totally blind buy. Expected to have a sweet fragrance, but this is not so sweet. It is more woody scent to my nose with a little of Maple sap, not maple syrup.
It smells nice, but not wow. Performance on my skin is just average.

Great smelling perfume, it’s very unique combines the perfect mix of summer & Autumn.
I gave it ago after reading the reviews and watching the videos.
Totally worth it.
Keep it as a side buddy, just in case you run out of the regular stuff.

Tested today (in Australia) after the top note (maple syrup) piqued my interest.
This one is NOT sweet, it is, as the note indicates, maple SAP not syrup – a very noticeable and important distinction: maple syrup is sweet, delicious, irresistible and candy-like. Maple sap is ooze from a tree.
And this fragrance smells like it. Perhaps that’s why it’s ‘dirt’ cheap where I am (AUD$40).
The note pyramid above is not inaccurate – woody notes (moss, cedar) are far more prevalent than tonka/amber throughout the heart and opening. Smooth sandalwood and vanilla are non-existent.
Disappointed, but only because I’m not interested in smelling like a forest

Just did a review on this on YT. Very good fragrance. Smells more like dark honey than maple sap to my nose. At any rate, it is very sweet, and unique. It is unique because it did not fall in the trap of combining sweet notes with “tobacco” or something edible. I like those combos as well, but it was refreshing to smell a honey sweet fragrance with green elements to it.
This is a good buy, and it performs well. Also, the dry down has some character. The neroli is noticeable all the way to the end without being the “star”, which is seldomly seen too. Neroli either takes over the composition or you don’t smell a gnat’s fart worth of it lol.
On the contrary, it is NOT worth the price if you have to pay high shipping to get a sniff. Stay away if you hate sweet fragrance. IJS= I’m just saying…

Tested this juice today whilst i was waiting in line near the checkouts in Australia
Just one spray on the arm, didn’t now anything about the scent. Wasn’t expecting much. Went for a walk outside, came back 20 mins later and had to buy a bottle to add to my collection. This juice is beastly , fairly cheap, definetly worth a try.

The closes thing to this…is pure Malt/pure Havane By Mugler.
When it comes to the gourmand sweetness.
It smells like maple syrup, wood chips and earthy(like damp dirt after a storm).
But i’m happy with the buy.

It’s very woody, after the dry down.
This is a must, if you can handle gourmand sweetest with a woody earth tone.

CRISTIANO RONALDO LEGACY – PRIVATE EDITION, EDP = This fragrance is a beast. It goes nuclear in all aspects, such as projection, sillage, and longevity. If you’re in the mood to garner compliments, that’s what you wear. You basically go with 2-3 sprays, and more than two, you’re really pushing it. I have three 100ml bottles, so I’m good for some time. Cheers! 🙂

Received my bottle today and i have to say that this is pretty nice prefume,luxury scent for very good price,got my bottles for about $5 each in a bulk buy (300 bottles) I can feel that smell of amber and also vanila at the drydown,well blended all notes,it is not for everyone,some people will dislike but for blind buy it’s ok,this perfume is for all seasons and day/night,hot/cold…
On CR Legacy EDT version i have posted comment if Ronaldo come up with EDP version i will buy a lot,so he listening to me and i keep the promise…Thanks Ronaldo…

There is only few fragrances available with maple syrup note. In all of them this compound is dominated by other notes. In Legacy PE situation is different. For me this is song for two voices, smooth delicious woody maple syrup and a little bit harsh but wonderful oak moss. Both singers are surrounded by delicate aura of tonka beans. Legacy PE can be easily put to the bottles with labels of most sophisticated niche perfume brands. The quality is very high, the character is as in case of many oriental or middle eastern fragrances. It has nothing with celebrity colognes that nowadays can be count in thousands on shelves in perfume stores all over the world.

Saw this in Japan while looking for a long lasting fragrance for men. The shop clerk strongly recommended this as it is new and one of the few EDPs they had.(There aren’t that many EDP fragrances you available here in Japan, for some reason.)
Did not spray it on my skin as just by smelling it from a paper strip is was too sweet for me.

Jomoves is right about longevity – this thing is a monster. It outlasts my bottles of Mugler Pure Malt and Pure Havane. Definitely, must be inching towards special niche territory for its projection and longevity. Wow.
Initial results are promising. Update: Yes indeed. Fantastic performance and longevity. Golden sweet seductive maple that girls go crazy for. Tremendous value because you don’t ever need more than 2 or 3 sprays max.

Has shown up in Australia. I liked Roanldo’s first fragrance but this one is like that one on steriods and is a silage BEAST! They haven’t gone for a low key Beckham appraoch here. Very resinous and ambery, but with a sweet wallop in there for a good measure – I assume this is honey note. This lasts like a bitch. One small spray and it’s been hanging around for hours.
I have a few middle eastern fragrances and I would say this one is in that category. Although it might seem like a safe blind buy if you liked the first fragrance, I would recommend testing this one first. It’s very strong and that sweet note could be polarising.

Rated this those who works in perfume business and haw previews. Like a radio dj or a movie critic who can listen a song and watch a movie before the official launch which is made in a certain specific period of the year for strategical marketing reasons. Not so difficult to understand.

I have been looking out for it since it was here reported. It has 4 of my favorit notes: Sandelwood-Tonka beans, Amber and also Neroli.
Having the entire line of the original, including aftershave, deo and showergel, and liking it, this special edition is a must have. But as I said, the special edition is not yet available, not even on Ronaldo’s own website.
Unfortunately a lot of fragrance fans seem to rate on fragrances just for…well, whatfor? Attention?
This has resulted that I do not take the reviews here for serious anymore. Also those people who have just sprayed a fragrance once and write essayes on it afterwards, are completely worthless
