Description

Refreshing, drinkable and fun compositions await us in summer editions of the house inspired by star fish and seahorses illustrated on the glass of the characteristic bottles of the collection and on the outer cartons.

Summer editions by Issey Miyake provide abundance of joy described with juicy fruit, optimistic herbal notes, aquatic notes and precious wood.
Top notes of the fragrance for men L`Eau d`Issey Pour Homme Summer 2014 seduce us with fruity zests of kiwi, pineapple and grapefruit, exchanging with spicy flavors of cardamom and nutmeg in the heart. Base notes of the composition introduce a woody blend of vetiver and characteristic cypress. The fragrance can be obtained as limited edition, 125ml Eau de Toilette.

A complete failure. The same as the 2013 version as mentioned. Very weak, like less than 2 hours weak. I get the big grapefruit opening and a little vetiver but that’s basically it. No kiwi or pineapple or any of the base notes are detectable.

It’s very difficult for me to say anything foul about L’Eau D’Issey. Much like other summer editions, this one is fresh, spicy, and energetic. But if I had a complaint (and I do), it’s that it feels a bit watered down. Poor longevity. And what the hell are the marine motifs about!? It doesn’t smell marine at all!
    Overall: 4.1
    5 Nose-gasm
    4 Awsome sauce!
3 Good but not exciting enough
    2 Meh!
    1 Hell to the no!

I like the smell and bottle design!fresh and fruity summer vibe. Nothing special though. But longevity on this one is awful. At least on me.

i’ve wanted to get this all summer, and every time i spray it on my hand in the shop, it just smells like the original L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme.. that said there is something nice about this maybe the sour yuzu is gone and its more ”rounded”.. i cant justify buying this whiel i have a bottle of L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme sat on the shelf but i would consider buying a bottle once my other bottle has run out.

If 2012 was an emergence from the island forest to the beach, this one from 2014 is a dive into the ocean.
Fresh, crisp, but not sharp like other Issey offerings.
This comes from the grapefruit substitute, in for the usual yuzu.
Its a great change of pace.
When I’m in the mood for a smoother, light, aquatic, I usually reach for this.
Its longevity isnt the greatest, but on the hottest days, you still know its there after 4-5 hours.
Hot summer days, I dont want to be swimming in fragrance soup, this one fits the bill.
    A solid 7.

I blind bough this one as i love issey miyake. I own the original and 2012 versions of summer. My impressions to be honest it did not excite me its a good summer scent but thats about it maybe the reason being is ive smell it before the same summer trend citrus opening pretty much every where comparing this to the 2012. In my opinion 2012 is better because of the yuzu note. I wanted to smell more kiwi here but its tamed. Creeds aventus? Where did that came from no way. Its fresh and refreshing nothing new here and it is a bit synthetic.

I almost hate to say it… This smells very similar to last years edition. So close it’s hard to tell the difference. I was really hoping it would be a little different like they usually are. I own every single version in the L’Eau d’Issey Summer Collection from 2000 to 2014 and they all smell somewhat different from year to year. That’s why I like their summer versions so much! The 2008 version is my favorite! In my opinion, the scent is still awesome! Very fruity and citrus like. I think I also detect some wood in there somewhere. That might be the only difference from last years edition to me. If you like to collect different scents, it might be worth a purchase for the little differences.
Perfect for a hot day in the sun!
    I’d give it a good 7/10.

the smells like system on this board should be investigated. Especially when it comes to creeds. GIT has zero smells like cool water and over 100 smells like Aspen. Aventus has 24 smells like this and the smells NOTHING like aventus. Why, because pineapple is a note? This smells like l’eau d’issey with a touch of pineapple. It is a pleasant summer scent but so different from Aventus. Silliness is going on here.

This smells nothing like Aventus. If you were looking for an Aventus smell-alike try Inssurection Pure 2 (awesome stuff). But I agree with the comment below. So weird because there is no similarity. This one has Issey dna, but toned down florals and amped up woods… but still it smells very light. Not really a fan. Best summer flanker to date is the 2009 (which you can still find on Amazon and Ebay). Stocked up on a few of them

    Smells like Aventus?!?!?
Not even close. I definitely get a Issey Miyake DNA type scent. Nothing like Aventus. How weird!!

First of all, i was like, apart from the smoother opening, it smells exactly the same as the original l eau d issey pour homme. without going into the note breakdowns
i left the shop a bit disappointed.. and this is where the real magic happened in 15/30 minutes.. its everything i love in the original but without the sour notes. smoother.
im going to grab a bottle of this and love every minute that im wearing this scent.

When I said I wasn’t tempted to try any other summer 2014 versions of fragrances in my 212 Surf review, that wasn’t strictly true… I was draw to this one as well.
L’eau d’Issey flankers have always been a bit disappointing in my opinion but last years summer edition was nice, good job they’ve stuck it in a new bottle and put it out again for 2014.
I never reviewed it last year (I don’t think?) because I only tried once in store and in fairness I don’t have the two to do a comparison but from memory this is exactly the same. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with doing that either, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. I like the way this fragrance has that watery, aquatic nature without resorting to any salty sea accord fakery. It’s straight up juicy kiwi and cucumber fresh with yuzu and a greenness of vetiver, hint of nutmeg maybe(?) not a great deal of spice but an accomplished summer juice nontheless. Summer is lighter and has the signature of the original which can only be a good and winning formula in my book.
strength? Not gonna project much after the first hour or so and longevity is okay.
Update: So my review above is based on what I thought on first impression well that has changed somewhat. No denying the top notes are beautiful and refreshing but then that salty seaweed accord starts nagging away at me. I mention above that this has the aquatic nature without the fakery, not strictly true as obviously the original L’eau D’Issey was built around that Calone aroma chemical and so are the flankers. The original doesn’t bother me in fact I have worn and loved it for years but this summer version once it passes the juicy top note faze can become a tedious aquatic but no where near as bad as some.

Kiwi? I don’t know, but the grapefruit is quite strong along with vetiver .
Nothing new in this bottle except for the starfish design on the front.

To those who say this is the same as Summer 2013 I say, “Good! Summer 2013 works wonders.”
