Description

Paco Rabanne launched 1 Million fragrance in 2008 and Lady Million fragrance in 2010. The perfume pair inspired by extravagance, gold and wealth has become very popular. The new fragrant pair of the collection features 1 Million Privé and Lady Million Privé coming out in summer 2016.

„Red carpet, photographers and spotlights. Hollywood, Paris, London, Saint Petersburg. Luxury, opulence, glamour, vacuity. A dash of boredom and an overdose of bla bla bla. A glance right and a wink. Cling! He takes her hand and leads her. Together, they run, get lost and hide. She’s the Bonnie to his Clyde. In the line of fire is the pure pleasure of maddening, invigorating adrenaline that thrives on shivers. A safe opens with a snap of the fingers. They’re there. Sparkling, intense and precious: the famous gold bar and the insolent diamond. As the door closes behind them, the world in hot pursuit, the partners in crime go over the film in private. At daybreak, they are gone. A legendary scent lingers in the air. A finger to the lips. What was that? Shhhh… Silence is golden. The future is theirs.” (via press release).

Lady Million Privé is developed by the perfumer Anne Flipo as the scent for a fascinating and irresistible woman. The new composition becomes more hypnotic, deep, sensual and oriental. It opens with orange blossom and woody notes. Trio of heliotrope, vanilla and raspberry form the heart of the perfume, laid on the warm base of patchouli, cocoa and honey.

Models of the campaign are Hana Jirickova and Sean O’Pry. Golden bottles become more intense in Privé, with darker shades of amber.

Its my cheap tom ford black orchid but doesnt stay all day on my skin like tfbo does.

Another fail for me from PR (after Olympea). This is too sweet and cloying.
I was curious to find out how the sweetness from the honey, cocoa, vanilla and raspberry would behave with patchouli, so I blind bought a bottle. I have never struggled to finish a perfume like I have with this one. I just don’t have the stomach for it (pun intended).
I do not get any floral, woody or patchouli note. This is straight up sweet stuff on me. The tooth-ache inducing kind. Never again!

Tested this one yesterday and found the opening a bit sharp and overwhelming; took the better part of 20 min. before briefly settling into a more pleasing woodsy/vanilla comfort zone where the raspberry played peekaboo. Wait for it … wait for it… WHAM big time honey buzz 30 min. in, heady for about an hour then calmed by the cacao. These base notes had nice interplay, a decadent chocolate honey nougat nuzzle, slowly fading together for the next six hours. This was a fun fragrance to wear for a day, I liked the way it developed in stages on my skin. A mini may just be in order, if for no other reason than to once again experience that honey high …

I enjoy Lady Million Prive a lot more than its predecessor Lady Million, however, I find that I have to be in the mood to wear it. This flanker is quite strong in regards to its sillage and has a very dominant patchouli accord, which may not appeal to everyone.
Lady Million Prive smells like a cross between the fruity original and Thierry Mugler’s dark, chocolatey Angel. It’s not quite as captivating as Thierry Mugler’s masterpiece but it does resemble its mysteriousness.
I would recommend wearing this fragrance during the colder months as the rich blend of patchouli and cacao only works well when there’s a chill in the air. The raspberry note is very juicy-smelling on my skin, keeping Lady Million Prive feminine and appealing.
As far as I can tell, Lady Million Prive has been relatively well-received since its release. I would have thought with all its dark, musty patchouli accords that many would have been deterred as it’s not your typical generic fragrance. I am pleased to see this shift occurring in the current perfume market, and it gives me hope that more ‘dark scents’ will follow.
Lady Million Prive has excellent longevity on my skin, lasting a decent seven hours despite wearing it during Summer. I did discover rather quickly however that light spritzes are necessary if opting to wear it on a warm Summer’s night.

This is deep and complex without being annoyingly heavy. I mainly get cocoa, vanilla, wood and honey. I’d describe it as soft but dark. It has a strong projection and it easily lasts a day, so it is easy to overdose on. For me, it is good, but still doesn’t really cut it as something I’d buy when I’ve finished my sample. It is a bit too dark for me.
Personally I’d find it fitting for autumn and winter. It’s not something I would wear at work, but otherwise I think it fits both for day and night time events and activities.
Don’t judge a bit book by a cover, nor a perfume by the bottle/campaign. While my judgement of this perfume is based solely on the scent, I think I’ll express my thoughts on the packaging/campaign in my review. Personally I find this bottle strange, so much so that it could put me off buying it even if I would have loved the scent. It is too bulky to be aestheticly pleasing, and the in-your-face gold/million-references doesnt make me feel luxurious as much as tacky. As for the ad campaign, I’m not sure what they want to convey. Are the models supposed to be posing as bank robbers? But then again, many fashion houses rely on shock value, so maybe they succeeded.

I was never a big fan of the original Lady Million, but if the new Lady Million Prive smells as yummy as the new men’s 1 Million Prive, I’m all in. 1 Million Prive smells like a combination of warm, rich coffee and fresh from the oven apple pie with cinnamon. Although it’s advertised as a men’s cologne, it could easily pass as a woman’s fragrance. I’m tempted to buy a bottle for myself.

I tested and like both the original Lady Million and Lady Million Prive today. I decided to buy Prive because on me, it’s the warmer, slightly deeper, cozier and more mature of the two fragrances and that’s what I crave now that it’s cold, close to Christmas and my birthday was yesterday, or I wouldn’t have had the money to splurge.
I might still buy the original Lady Million but I have enough fragrances to go through that fill that fresher, lighter, fruity floral mood when that comes over me and they were much cheaper. I got lucky with my 50ml of Prive because I got 20% off; birthday discount.
The bottle is a bit unhandy like fx. Lancome La Nuit Tresor which I also considered buying, so I folded the lid into the box Prive came in, so that I can store the bottle more securely.

I tried this in a duty free shop on a cross channel ferry, so I don’t know how long the bottle had been open (although I’d imagine not long as there isn’t a lot to do on cross channel ferries other than test all the perfumes, so I bet they get through the testers quickly). Anyhow, I haven’t really tried too many of the ‘Million’ fragrances, although I much prefer the original 1 Million (on a man) to any of the female versions on me, and this one is no exception.
Sorry to say, it’s totally rank on me. It’s heavy, cloying, plodding, pedestrian. It opens with a dull chocolate note, like cheap cooking chocolate, and this is overlain with a creamy sourness, like buttermilk, or milk just about to turn. It’s ‘claggy’ (that’s a Yorkshire word meaning it sticks in the back of your throat). It is quite sweet in the dry down but with
a bland dull honey propped up by loud patchouli. There is no freshness, no fruit, it’s all just muddy and sludgy. It’s very interesting seeing other reviewers comparing this to Tom Ford BlaCk Orchid, because there are distinct similarities, and I had exactly the same instant dislike for that too. It’s obviously a combination of notes that doesn’t work on me.

I was lucky enough to be gifted a 50ml bottle of this by my colleague’s Fiancee.
I didn’t care for the original Lady Million, but I really like this. I find it best on crisp autumn days as it’s sweet warmth is very comforting.
It’s not something I would’ve reached for so I’m glad I received it as a gift!
I will menion the male Prive is AMAZING. Planning buying it for my Fiance…

i love this one more than the original one million, this to me feels more grown up, and for colder months, fall and winter, it’s not sweet it has dark choklad feel to yet honey .

As some other reviewers already mentioned – the topnote of Prive is more “Black Orchid for beginners” than Lady Million. That is because the cocoa note of LMP and the chocolate note of BO are very similar: Dry and dark, not sweet like milk chocolate.
In general I find the topnotes of Lady Million Prive quite interesting, they are very woody, not sweet and the patchouli is already noticeable.
Raspberry then makes everything a bit lighter and more girly, and contrary to the usual developement of frangrances, I find the fruity notes stronger as the perfume dries down a bit.
The base is a lovely, slightly sweet and very cozy mix of creamy woods, cocoa powder and honey. The vanilla is no more than a supporting note here. I still get wafts of raspberry here and there after a long time.
I like this flanker much more than the regular Lady Million.
Prive is more mature, has a more natural scent and is very warm and comforting. I would wear it.

I got a small tester of this and I’m not sure about it. I find the dry down a bit masculine and woody for my liking, might work better in colder months, I’ll give it another chance later in the year.

Since the first lady million was launched i was keep going to test it to deside if i want to get it.
    it never convinced me.
i loved the opening SO MUCH every time but the dry down was kind of dull..
i was getting a lovely orange flower in the begining, but when this was disappearing the remains were something flat and rather cloying.
THIS composition has what was missing to make it interesting and vibrant all the way .
the drydown is even better than the opening.
it is def of the same family, so, well being a flanker, but it is warm, luxurious, mysterious and kicking.
the hint of patchouli to the honey- cocoa- vanilla combo, was a great idea.
    perfect for fall and winter.
i just got it, eventhough it is getting warm here, but i could’nt resist after trying it.

So this was the delightful scent the SA sprayed on me after I complained that I was so bored with all the sweet fruity perfumes currently on the market, and was looking for something new, particularly an oriental floral; one of the types I prefer in cooler weather. I really wish I took a sample as the price was through the roof!

In 2010, Paco Rabanne launched Lady Million to make pair with 1 Million, which became absolute success in the market. The concept was kept and to accompany the golden ingot, its bottle came in the form of a diamond. Again, the brand achieved success.
In 2012, it was the turn of the Eau de Toilette and Absolutely Gold versions. In 2014, the company released the Eau My Gold version, to replace the Eau de Toilette version, which would be discontinued. In 2016, a new duo was released, with the surname Privé.
This time, the successful couple, who gets everything with the snap of their fingers, shows their criminal side. They are normal, during the day, and completely different, at night.
The perfumer was Anne Flipo, again. She gave life to an intense, floral and gourmand fragrance. And who has already used some famous websites, to get the notes before making videos on youtube, may not know, but they are listed in a wrong way. Just go to the official website of the brand, either in French or English, to see that the raspberry note heads the composition along with the heliotrope note, contrary to what is disclosed here and there, arguing that both would be in the body of the fragrance.
That said, here goes the olfactory pyramid: raspberry, heliotrope, woody accord and orange blossom, on top. Then, the heart brings the vanilla flower, which is a type of orchid. The base is intoxicating and combines notes of cocoa, honey and patchouli.
Lady Million Privé is sweet and carries that raspberry sour, since the beginning. And the heliotrope, by itself, is already reminiscent of vanilla. That is, we have a vanilla fragrance ahead. The luminous part comes from the orange blossom, but the secret of this opulent creation is undoubtedly at its base. The patchouli is chocolate-type and mixes with the nuances of cacao, which are bitterer and, in a way, powdery. The honey falls on top and does not let the cocoa powder rise, sealing the perfume on the skin, bitter and sweet, all at the same time.
I read something about Black Orchid, but I compared the two and saw no resemblance. Then, I realized that the facet of the patchouli was not strange to me: I look here, I try there and I realize that La Vie Est Belle has this sweet-chocolate patchouli. You can notice, in those moments when the patchouli and the vanilla decide to appear more than the rest. Even so, it is a passing feeling.
But something was still missing, which I could hardly remember. “That cocoa base has already been on my skin”, I thought to myself. After some tests and some research, the answer appeared: niche perfumery. So I was able to identify the same cocoa from Xocoatl (Fueguia 1833) and Santal Majuscule (Serge Lutens).
We have then a fragrance by Paco Rabanne, which plays niche and was made for the mass market. I take this opportunity to leave a tip: if you do not like the base of this perfume, you will have great chances of not liking any of the others mentioned.
Lady Million Privé does not disappoint in projection, much less in longevity. It is one of those bombs, which are perfect on colder days or in special moments full of sensuality. Its bottle remains the same, but the gold turned bronze and the fragrance gained a liqueur appearance. Worth knowing!

I also just realized this has a few similarities to Black Orchid. I just got BO the other day.
The thick, uber sweet cacao and honey…. combined with a bit of patchouli and flowers… very close combo.
They aren’t the same overall, of course. BO is dark and thick and dirty. Prive is golden sweet, but probably still too sweet and thick for some.
Not me tho. I love this. But I can see forgetting about it outside of winter. In Upper Michigan tho, winter can last six months. 🙂
1 spray is strong for a couple hours (big sillage then only up close) and 4-5 will keep it going all day long.

Lady Million Prive was on my wish list for months, ever since it was announced here on Fragrantica. I particularly wanted to smell the honey, cocoa and woods, on a subtle bed of white florals. To my nose, this did not eventually end up being what I had expected (damn you high hopes!)
It is a nice scent, but a bit forgettable, like the original Lady Million is to me. No cocoa, and only a hint of golden honey I could detect. Overall, it felt like the original mixed with the top notes of Tom Ford’s Black Orchid ( which I personally dislike, it has a rotten accord which I can’t overlook). Feels quite modern, but it’s not groundbreaking. And I wanted to like it so much…
Oh well, at least I didn’t blind buy!

When I asked sales assistant to spray the tester of lady million prive on me,he started to talk about how bad is this new flanker and that he thinks the original lady million in way better but I was being mesmerized by whiffs of that sweet, strong cacao, honey combo and the only thing I could think of was that I love, love, louve this one
I like original lady million but I mean one of those likes that you can feel towards any nice smelling perfume without needing to have it.I gave my own bottle of it to my aunt without any afterward regrets.this one has definitely the lady million gene but it’s way darker and far from being generic
Cacao-honey is the most dominant to my nose and it’s grounded by patchouli and woody notes which add a dark,a tad masculine but also very sexy undertone to sweet, gourmand accord of honeyed chocolate, there’s also a soft powdery veil of orange blossom, vanilla and heliotrope blooming beneath prominent dark, sweet scent to add a touch of soft and feminine sensuality
It’s the first time I’m trying it but I’m already in love and gonna buy it as soon as I find a good deal. It’s definitely a fall, winter fragrance and a potent one
    ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

I’m into gooey sweet gourmands, but I do have Lady Million and the Ab Gold Parfum. I also enjoy syrupy honey florals– so this seemed too good to be true!
And I finally got it! A big 80ml tester for $60 from ebay.
Love it. Love love love. I think I’d trade my regular LM for this! It’s loud and somewhat fruity at first… there is def the patchouli to ground it…. but mostly I get the cocoa-honey (floral/woody a bit too) and it’s lovely. Good potency/sillage IMO- prob better than LM and Ab Gold. The creamy dark drydown (base) CAN be a bit masculine, but it’s mysterious and comforting to me. I love it! There is something a bit too sweet and odd if you inhale close up….
Def has the LM DNA– you will know it’s part of that family. But this is sooo much better!
This is thick, but not really cloying IMO (I like them strong and sweet tho). Creamy, long lasting, just a keeper!

My adorable husband (with absolutely no knowledge of perfume got me this bottle instead of the Paco Rabanne thinking he grabbed the right one… 😉 but in fact, i actually prefer this one to the original, with the woody citrus original notes and finishing notes of honey, chocolate and patchouli? Amazing! Just after seeing what this contained i am like, ‘Ok Huzzy, how is it possible that every time you buy me the wrong bottle, i like it even more than the one i told you to get?… can you read my mind?…’ (Not the first time he’s screwed up to my advantage!) Definitely better than the original in my mind, more sensual and oriental scent about it.

I love this perfume. I love how the cocoa lasts after hours.it can smell overbearing at first but after a few minutes it tones down perfectly and leaves a trail of sweetness everywhere you go. It also smells classy. I just wish it lasted longer.

This is really, very nice. It is quite rich smelling, and I can smell the cacao for sure. It settles into a gorgeous combination of chocolately patchouli and lasts for about 5 hours on me. x

No jasmine? Really? To me this smells like you shaved off the top notes of the original Lady Million, deepened it with some cocoa and poured the syrup from a can of peaches into it instead, but I might be alone in thinking that. The press release is cringeworthy.

  31. :

    3 out of 5

I got this yesterday, a blind of honey & cacao, the dry down is similar to Black xs L’Aphrodisiaque
Lasting power is great, but it’s not a sillage bomb.

  32. :

I am a fan of the original and i was excited to try this one, but i did not liked it.
It smells decadent and it lacks the luminosity of the original Lady Million. It does not smells like a flanker. It is a completely different perfume.
On me it smells like overripe fruit. No honey, no cacao.
This is unfortunately, a no-go to me.

  33. :

    5 out of 5

For some reason I felt that the scent and the notes really don’t match up with this fragrance, on my skin anyway. Almost smelt fruity to me (?)
Also, this makes my throat tickle so much that if ever I caught a whiff of it I thought that I was coming down with a cold. Thankfully for everybody else the sillage was poor. Not sure about staying power, as I was scrubbing this off with the wet wipes I keep in my purse. Perhaps it’s better on other people. For me, never again.

I just got a sample of this from Shoppers Drug Mart today. Sorry, it’s a meh for me. It’s pleasant enough, but I love bold, stand-out fumes like Obsession, Youth Dew and Coco. I don’t hate it, but I wouldn’t buy it.

  35. :

    4 out of 5

Great scent for Autumn, but patchouli is way too strong. I can’t smell any cacao here. Mostly patchouli, wood scent and something sweet, maybe strawberry.

  36. :

    4 out of 5

Warm, cosy scent. But when it dried down on my skin, something came out what I didn’t liked much. that honey-cacao vibe probably. it’s much warmer and softer than original lady million. I don’t like to feel the smell of my perfume all the time when I put it on myself. This one i still can smell.

  37. :

    5 out of 5

This is a very warm perfume perfect for those winter months. I couldn’t imagine taking this to the beach. It’s a woody fragrance also I can smell honey and spice. It lasts all day! As it fades there’s a hint of vanilla.
Perfect Autumn fragrance for those long cold nights and big woolly jumpers.

  38. :

    4 out of 5

There is a thickness in Lady Million prive that bothers me, then the honey comes into play, and I am not a huge fan of honey, mixed in with the cocoa, the whole vibe of the scent just isn’t working for me…add to that some vague floral notes..not sure if they worked with cheap ingredients but it smells cheap to me..
The base on the other hand is sweet, and cozy, but I can’t enjoy the whole development of this scent..it has a bit of a man’ s cologne in the heart too..so a no no for me…my husband also finds it has a masculine vibe.
Happy to try it, not loving it!!

  39. :

I am not a fan of Lady Million. It’s nice, just nothing special to me. I was not in a hurry to try this not being a fan, but thought what the hell. What a little gem this is. For me it’s everything a sexy perfume would be. It is sweet, but not too sweet. It is a floral without being too flowery. It has vanilla without smelling like ice cream. It is spicy without smelling like an incense stick. The perfect oriental floral that just works with my chemistry. My other half loves it too. I am so in love I not only have the 30ml for my handbag, I have just purchased the 80ml.

  40. :

I’d like to give a review on this, but I forgot how it smells. It was gone skin so fast…an hour or to, no longer than that, you couldn’t notice it on my skin any more 🙁
What I remember, it was really rich-fresh smell (like Omnia Crystalline or Gucci Bamboo), which is totally in contrast with dark bottle. I actually expected something deeper, more creamy than the original.. I suposse it is a nice smell, but it just isn’t win situation with my body-chemistry.

  41. :

I agree 100% with auroramaria , it’s a fluffy cacao ,vanilla , woodsy scent. Brightened by the raspberry and orange blossom. ,,, my husband likes it a lot. It’s almost gourmand and the drydown is so great and warm.
The heltrope and the vanilla together makes this very delicious and vanillic smelling.
Way better than the first lady million, which I never ended up getting ,This is wonderful. I can’t get enough . Warm, sexy and a head turner !
I forgot ,the honey playes a nice role here. I don’t always like honey all that much , this one is not honey dominant but rather a soft cacao and vanilla , freshend by Jasmine and raspberries. If you don’t spray at least 4 sprays it’s very subtle I agree with that. But if you do spray 4 it’s very long lasting and even detectable the next day.
    Love it , addicting !

The notes sounded really promising – especially heliotrope, raspberry and vanilla. But the combo turned out to be a rather boring and sweet mixture of cocoa, honey and orange blossom. Nothing special IMO, I’d expected something amazing, but… not this time, sorry:(

  44. :

Better than the other lady millions which I am not a fan of. I can detect the coco in this one which I like. Still doesn’t scream unique or interesting or especially nice to me. It’s just ok a little forgettable but this one is my fav from the lady million line. I will try this again and give it another chance. I think the honey ruins it for me.

  45. :

    4 out of 5

This one doesn’t suit my skin. I don’t get any of those beautiful listed notes out. All I get is something white flowerish but not orange blossom and a bit of patchouli. Also something woody.
It’s like watered perfume which is a bit stingy and then disappears.
I wish I could smell this on someone else’s skin just to smell how this should be.
Edit: drydown came late. I can detect some sweetness and a bit of cocoa but the smell is very weak.

Smells a lot like Lady Million, which I loved but the honey note is stronger than in Lady Million. The cacao is nice but not as present as everyone else seems to think. It’s seductive, sweet and longlasting but not quite as strong on the sillage as Lady Million. Which is a pitty because it’s a great scent which fits perfectly in the Lady Million line.

  50. :

    4 out of 5

After a few hours it smells nice to me, but at first it was too intense for my taste.
Cacao powder note is very intense in this one.
It’s a strong, interesting scent full of good and balanced notes. I can sense freshness of white flowers, dark cacao scent, sweet amber and wood in it.
I can see why how it’s inspired by gold and wealth, smells really “golden” to me.
It’s much better than the original Lady Million and the eau version.

Gorgeous! I got it today after lusting over it for months! Privè is a very intense, rich fragrance, with a lovely and warm cocoa note, sweet it is too but in no way cloying. The honey and vanilla make it almost a gourmand but a good dose of patchouly prevents it from becoming too sweet.Def not a fragrance I can use in the Italian scorching weather but come Fall and winter Privè will be perfect.
Monster sillage and about four hours on skin, but still very noticeable after that.

  52. :

    3 out of 5

Beautiful! It’s not only the bottle that looks pretty, it’s the fragrance itself. Deeper and warmer than the original. They share the same DNA so it could have been called Million Intense instead. I get honey and a wonderful smooth note of cocoa but the patchouli preserves it to be too sweet, it is very well balanced. Warm, fruity mature scent.
I’m sure I will buy it in autumn.

I’m not impressed with this version. I’ve been wearing it 3 times till now hoping it will grow on me but it didn’t happen. Don’t get me wrong, it’s very nice scent, it performs good and lasts longer than average but…in the dry down it’s nearly identical to regular edp. I was looking forward to get more of the cacao but instead it’s honey and vanilla variation which i love. Before it dries down for good it’s lovely as honey gives it extra thick sweetness but in the later stage it just becomes too common. I had exactly the same feeling with Angel Muse, both Muse and Prive and good and well made scent but they don’t bring anything new to standard line. I’d say give it a try maybe it will work better for you than it did for me.

No wonder I couldn’t find it anywhere this is coming out at the end of August

I notice all the ratings are at “5” for very intense. I wonder if it is the way fragrantica “sets” the pyramid up? I see a lot of “votes” on new fumes that are not ever even out yet…..so maybe it is something that they set it up this way to start it off?

Great set of notes sounds quite opulent and lovely bottle!I love Paco Rabanne and Privè seems to be an improvement on Lady Million

I dislike the original, cause smelling cheap, but this is a new hope with more complexity and added notes o cocoa and heliotrope. Yummy, gotta test !
