Description

J’Adore Absolu, available since the beginning of October 2018, is a new edition of Dior’s J’Adore collection.

J’adore absolu is the new floral nectar by the House of Dior. In an incredibly lush composition, François Demachy blends voluptuous and sensual floral absolutes. Absolutes of Grasse Jasmine, Sambac Jasmine, Rose and Magnolia intertwine with unprecedented freshness: flowers take on the sweetness of a delicious syrup, a sublime, natural and seductive nectar.  J’adore absolu is built around Grasse Jasmine, a capricious beauty that requires patience, harvested at the precise moment when, drenched in sunlight, it releases its most sensual accents.”

“In this composition, I wanted Jasmine to shine with all its intensity. It is animal, fruity, drenched in sunlight. Swathed in honeyed notes of orange blossom and rose, it reveals lusher, more nectar-like accents.” – François Demachy

Together with the new perfume, a new advertising campaign for J’Adore is also launched, featuring actress Charlize Theron as the face of the line. The amphora-like bottle is adorned with a new “supple, almost fluid necklace, like a delicate jewel dancing around a woman’s neck, following her every movement”.

J’Adore Absolu is available as a 50 and 75 ml Eau de Parfum Absolu.

The nose behind this fragrance is Francois Demachy.

Ultimate expression of elegance, refinement and perfection.
There are few scents like j’a.Absolu in my wardrobe. This sample is worth gold and should be used until the last drop.
And I could even lose my mind.

White floral soap in a good way. Modern, classic, clean scent for elegant, confident and feminine woman. Comparing to original this is more dense. In background there is some slight candy like sweetness, perhaps sugary, fruity, floral honey.
For woman 25+. For lightweight and classic style. Champagne, white, light beige, gold, honey colors. Bottle design fits perfume. More feminine, than romantic. Quite universal, will fit most seasons, occasions and even friendly atmosphere office. Might even fit wedding. It is well done, but also in my opinion nothing too original or attention grabbing (what also might be good a thing). This perfume lets woman to speak, than speaks in place of woman as some stronger perfumes might do.

I like this new Absolu a lot but I don’t love it as much as I love J’Adore original. The big difference between the two is the dry down. Absolu ended with strong and prominent tuberose and that’s it, while the original has more of other floral complexities.
Overall, J’Adore Absolu is still a very nice white floral fragrance and carries a big assemblance of J’Adore’s DNA. It is also different than the previous J’Adore L’Absolu, as this Absolu blends right in with the main stream sweet tuberose trend these days, as found in many other perfumes such as Gucci Bloom…, while the previous L’Absolu is less sweet, more distinctive, and has more depth/dimension with ylang ylang…in it.
Even though this new release is still a strong like from me, it is by far my least favorite out of all versions (J’Adore, J’Adore L’Or, J’Adore L’Absolu, and then this Absolu).

This may be the most similar flanker to the old J’adore even if it still is sweeter and lighter.

I recommend this if you find the fruits in the EdP too synthetic/screechy and L’Or too expensive/small/soft

This smells just like J’adore but the base is different. The original has fresh fruity floral base where as the Absolo has this rich floral gardenia base. The bottle is beautiful and a lot more darker. It’s more suited for night time.

I got my bottle yesterday. While I never got the privilege of trying out the previous J’adore Absolu , I must say this one is in between a like and a love for me. I’m not a perfume connoisseur so I may not be very apt with describing notes. That being said , the opening seems very bright and effervescent to me. Also at the opening I sense the presence of the original J’ adore . It dries down to something floral and sweet and doesn’t change much on my skin. It’s not overly sweet . It seems balanced – between the florals and sweetness. I got this for the tuberose, I can sense it but it’s not sickeningly obvious. It spells ‘playful sophistication’.
This should be great for spring , fall and summer IMO. I think I might also wear it during the winter too
It lasts for a decent length of time. At the sixth hour mark it’s still there. It’s not a sillage bomb like Lor, which is my favorite form this line . It’s in between moderate and heavy.
If you didn’t quite like the original but you are into sweet fragrances , then you might want to check this out. Sample first before committing. This was a blind buy for me and I’m happy with it.

Fruits and ylang ylang got replaced by orange blossom and magnolia. No musk and wood in this new release 2018 either. I assume that this one would be more floral, “greener” and sweeter!?!?
BTW, beware of the counterfeit/fake ones. This one (or ANY previous L’Absolu version) has the max capacity bottle of 2.5 oz 75 ml, NOT 3.4 oz 100 ml.

LVMH launches a lot before Season’s gifts… Surprise?!

Is this replacing the old J’Adore L’Absolu as a new formulation? It seems so, as it is 75ml Le Parfum version.

Seeing this makes me think their Dior’s head is at, “ quick, JOY is bombing, we have to launch a new J’Adore, NOW!!!”
