Pour Un Homme is, in fact, the intense version of Impact. When Pour Un Homme takes all the lavender aroma (flower, stem, leaf) supported by an amber now and then sweet, Impact alters the same notes with different intensity. Here, the flower of lavender is embellished, then supported by a soft and discrete dry vanilla. It is more refined, modern and subtile. Longevity and projection are identical to its valorous elder.
Pour Un Homme est en fait la version intense d’Impact. Là où Pour Un Homme utilise tous les arômes de la lavande (fleur, tige, feuille) supportés par un ambre parfois sucré, Impact reprend les mêmes notes avec des intensités différentes. Ici, c’est la fleur de lavande qui est magnifiée, supportée par une douce et discrète vanille non sucrée. C’est plus raffiné, moderne et subtile. La longueur et la projection sont identiques à son valeureux aîné.

I am very impressed with this – and feel that it does have more ‘weight’ than the original in current formulation…it is really fantastic! If you like Pour Un Homme, you will enjoy this. It takes a discerning nose to understand the subtle differences. I got a bottle knowing it would be very similar to the regular bottling of Pour Un Homme, but I have to agree that the base notes in this are a bit heavier and richer. It is still in balance and wears wonderfully. Someone mentioned more wearable in cold weather – as it does feel ‘warmer’.
That doesn’t make it better, but slightly unique when compared to the standard formulation and it’s really a matter of nuances – and how one applies the scent is still relevant. Of all the bottlings of Caron Pour Un Homme, to me the Vintage EdT (standard) bottling is the best. There is more richness in the lavender (you can identify the herbal and floral aspects rather separately – the soliflore is very revealing), and I get an amber note in there as well. The musk is more prominent than the vanilla-laden current formulation – but there is perfect harmony & impeccable balance. A timeless scent.
To me, these are all slightly different ‘interpretations’ or concentrations of an eternal masterpiece. Not a necessity, but a desire. Impact Pour Un Homme is excellent, in and of itself…wonderful. Cheers.

I like it and enjoy wearing it a lot. What I like about this scent is the way it is sunkissed, aromatic grass and lavender first, smelling very natural to me, then those turn into background, while soft, calm musk and vanilla that has no sweet smell to it get forefronting. Time goes by, musk’s joining the grass and the lavender, and vanilla gets polite amber to keep her company. Feels good.

This is the Pour un Homme we know and love with the edge taken off – a suitable “night time” version.
The signature lavender in the opening has traded a tiny bit of its brightness for a smoother, sexier profile. A touch of bergamot mellows and tempers the lavender, which lasts quite a bit longer in the parfum than it does in the eau de toilette. In the drydown, the woodiness is more subdued than the original while a smooth, sexy amber sneaks up on you. The base is a warm ambered vanilla musk bomb with touches of wood and spice. The base is the biggest difference. The quality is superb here, both in craftsmanship and in materials, and the whole thing comes off a bit more like Jicky than the original – and that’s a good thing.
Impact manages to present the fragrance from terrific new angles while still remaining ridiculously faithful to the original.
Pour un Homme is one of my very most cherished fragrances, and I’m absolutely in love with this version. I can say with confidence that this is an improvement on the original – something I’ve never said about any flanker of any kind before.

It’s OK but I can’t see any reason to make a purchase as I find my beloved Caron pour un homme is quite a bit fresher, projects more and is about a quarter of the price.
I prefer the original as it’s about as close to perfection as it gets for me.

Caron website claims it’s the 1st extraid de parfum for men. That is probably why it’s little too intense.

Sort of intense version of Caron Pour Un Homme with less lavender on top and more musk in the base. Not bad at all but I stick with the original version for its freshness and more distinctive personality. Maybe a bit too powdery in the drydown.
