Description

I Want Candy is a sweet, fruity candy made of apple, peach, sweet violet and rose.

Typical for TokyoMilk, the name of the perfume, besides direct connection with the fragrance at first glance, is actually a well-known phrase or term, which enables us to see the composition from another point of view.

I Want Candy is a famous song by American band The Strangeloves from 1965. This song was later performed by many other popular singers and groups, such as Bow Wow Wow (1982), Aaron Carter (2000), Melanie C (2007) as soundtrack for the movie carrying the same name (comedy directed by Stephen Surjik-a). The nose behind this fragrance is Margot Elena.

Light, young violet! With just enough fruit to keep it fresh and shampoo-like (in a good way), as violet can get heavy.
This could have been good for me. Unfortunately, I used to have a violet-scented flea/tick spray for my dog that I loved on him… and this smells exactly like it. Seriously, it could not be more of a dupe!
Too bad this scent is now associated with dog fur and dog saliva to me. It really is nice smelling but I cannot disassociate the two.

I tried it and couldn’t smell anything. The notes sound nice though, so I won’t dismiss it just yet – I’ll test it again just in case.

very peachy & fruity- nice, but not anything amazing. i have sniffed the entire line & my faves (for gourmand but not TOO foody) are: honey & the moon, kabuki & bittersweet. always wished the lasting power was longer.

This scent is very strong and sweet, there are better ones by this house. If you like apples and being eatible, however, this one may be for you. You can get samples online at indiescents, or other places. Anthropologie also sells them.

While wandering in a shop with my daughter last night, I came upon a tester of this stuff…I sprayed it on a card first and it smelled rather fresh and uncomplicated: I could detect the fruit and the violets. Rashly, I gave my wrists a big spritz and began to endure an apple assault of epic proportions. As coco76 aptly said, it is screamingly loud, and in fact kept magnifying as if I were caught in some ghastly echo chamber. My stepson said, “It smells like shampoo.”
It kept radiating it’s deadly sweet synthetic fumes on our walk to the car, on the ride home, and back at the house. I scrubbed my wrists, to no avail. Finally, in desperation, I ran a bath and submerged myself for relief. This fume gives a whole new meaning to FBW: FULL BATH WORTHY!

Disappointed with this one. Smells like really strong soap and for me it’s not getting past this soap smelling stage. I might have to wash this off.

I tried this perfume on a few days ago.
I must say that it smells abit like soap in the begining. But then later the soapy smell transforms into something heavenly that smells abit like honey, violet and sugar.
It would have been a perfect scent for me if the apple note only would have been abit more subtle.
But it’s still a very claming and beautiful scent.

Like sfsassy, I found this fragrance to be very fruity. On me it was all apple, and reminded me a little bit of how Herbal Essence shampoos used to smell.
It is a very light fragrance and great for summer, you will however need to re-apply quite a bit. Overall, young and fun but not something I plan to buy.

I really liked this perfume. First off, the bottles are adorable. They are not too expensive and they provide a nice little pick me up!
I like light fruity scents. On my, it was all fruit and no floral.
The lasting power is low and you need to re-apply.

I really wish i enjoyed this perfume more…the notes seem to be perfect for me. unfortunately, the apple is screamingly loud…very fake green apple. it kind of reminds me of what salon selectives used to smell like back in the day. oh well, i ordered samples of some of their other scents today, lets see how they fair!
