The smell of cupcake icing – in a perfume! Sweet stuff! This smells so sweet that it reminds me of sweet candies, definitely vanilla cupcakes!
In my quest to find a fragrance that is similar to Eau du Ciel, (trying to find a fragrance that will smell similar but will last on my skin longer than a couple of hours)- I’ve tried a number of samples that were recommended to me by friends on Fragrantica.com – as well as a number of sales associates at local department stores in the area.
Hanae Mori was recommended by the staff at Nordstrom’s, when I asked for a light floral fragrance with the spring rain type theme. So far, so good. I’m trying a sample of this now – and I’m liking how this is setting up on my skin. It reminds me a little bit of My Insolence, only is a bit more warm and inviting than that fragrance. It is a high alto to lower soprano chord. It is sweet, floral, clean, and fresh smelling as it first settles into the skin.
I will wear longer and report what else I am finding with the way this sets up on my skin.
    ———–
If you like Hanae Mori, then try My Insolence. They appear to be sister fragrances. Hanae Mori is a bit warmer and more inviting than My Insolence… but they have similar essences and could both be worn as a signature scent but would reflect different moods of warm with Hanae Mori – or cool with My Insolence.

Long Lasting POWER!!! This lasted over 8 hours and even through a shower! Wow!!! It stayed on really well with my skin type!

This is too sweet for me. I would like this on other women, but it isn’t matching my requirements for a “signature fragrance”.

I now officially own every concentration of Hanae Mori, and I was particularly excited to get my hands on this edition of Hanae Mori.
What I do appreciate from this line is that you can pretty much tell what fragrance line you’re wearing no matter if its the EDT or the Parfum of Hanae Mori. The base has been left the same, with that vanilla-but-not-really-vanilla scent and some touches of ripe fruitiness. There’s not too much of a difference between them all, the EDP and the Parfum being the most similar and the EDT holding more fruitiness to my nose. They all dry down to the same scent, the difference being mostly in sillage and a touch in longevity. All have excellent longevity on my skin, but I can see it not being the case for some.
All that being said, I was expecting something extra from this edition. Having Eau Fraiche in the title makes me think this is going to be something fresher for the summer time, perhaps a sweet lemon scent blended through with the “vanilla.” Right out of the bottle it seemed to be living up to my expectations. This is Hanae Mori EDT with a pop of really pretty tangerine and grapefruit. They come together in what I thought of as a sweet lemon scent. I was very excited for this. I didn’t realize at the time that they are top notes only. And sure enough, within literally less than ten seconds they completely vanished. I thought for a moment I had imagined them, they just came and went by so fast.
What was left was the same scent found in my Hanae Mori EDT. It dries down to that classic Hanae Mori scent in EDT concentration. I love Hanae Mori but I wish they would do something to diversify this line. Its fine that the EDP and Parfum are similar, great that they made the EDT just a touch fruitier, but did we really need this edition of Hanae Mori if the notes that made it different from the EDT fade within the first few seconds?
This is a lovely fragrance, but it really could have been better. I really expected more. I do enjoy it and I will use it, but I am disappointed. I wish they would have kept the citrus notes mixed in at the base or in the middle notes at least. Made this an actual Eau Fraiche of Hanae Mori rather than another flanker to milk off the original formula. Which again, not a bad thing. But if I’m seeing Eau Fraiche in the name than I do have some expectation of something to differentiate the formula from the EDT than a paltry few seconds of (wonderful!) citrus. Why, oh why couldn’t they have kept the citrus running throughout? This would have been a winner if they had!
Bottom line: If you have the EDT then you don’t really need to seek this one out. If you’re looking for the EDT, you could definitely go for this one instead and you won’t be missing anything.

    Oh gosh… This is truly A M A Z I N G !!!
    Love at first sniff!
This scent captures quite a few notes and even though it is not that easy to tell each note apart, if I try I will be able to tell that each note listed is there…
All these notes joining together makes this perfume a very sophisticated and distinguished masterpiece.
It is Sweet, it is Fruity, it is Floral & Woody, it is Fresh & Creamy, all at the same time…
IMO it suits any season of the year… day or night, you decide!
Lastingpower and sillage are actually very nice considering this is an ‘Eau Fraiche’…
I will definitely purchase the original HM for next winterseason!
    ~LOVE~

I have and LOVE all three concentrations of the original Hanae Mori (pink, blue, red). They are exactly the same except for intensity and weight of the warmth, balmy, woody elements. I normally chose pink (edt) for summer, blue (edp) for winter, red (perfume) for evenings.
I finally added the Eau Fraiche (blind buy) to my collection and it is also EXACTLY the SAME as the original (pink) except it is lighter and fresher, yet still undeniably true to the lusciously creamy sweet original. Vanilla, almonds, gentle creamy florals. The woods keep it smooth and grounded but are not as prominent as in the original. I do not get any true citrus with Eau Fraiche but it is definitely bright and sparkly.
This is the perfect summer alternative to the original blue or red butterfly, but if you have the pink, this is probably a wash. If you don’t have any of the originals this could work year round. If I had to choose, I actually prefer this to the pink butterfly but because I LOVE all the butterflies regardless of the color I shall keep them ALL!!!

Light, citrusy and sweet, with a creamy sandalwood and cedar base that is both nearly edible and fresh. It shares DNA with the butterfly Hanae Mori perfume, and even with Magical Moon–something in the base…you can tell they are from the same house. However, where the butterfly Hanae Mori is thick and sweet, Magical Moon is dry and incense-y, and Eau Fraiche is, of course, fresh. Eau Fraiche is suitable for warm weather and cool weather–it’s cozy enough but not overpowering in heat. Anyone who loves sweet, fruity gourmands should give this one a try, because it’s not common-smelling and it is a bit more sophisticated than your garden-variety floral fruity.

Smells like marshmallows covered in chocolate yet floral and elegant. Whenever I wear this perfume I end up totally possesed by my inner goddess – dressing up and seizing the day . This perfume is not over powering but lasts for hours. I have the toilette spray. I guess I feel like a beautiful, happy little cupcake whenever I wear it.

Veroronnieronr… I usually find it offensive when someone does something vulgar. I’m slightly amused that you get OFFENDED if someone knows what perfume you are wearing. Guess I’ll skip your blog.
In the mean time based off what everyone else has said, I have purchased this limited edition HM and am eagerly waiting for it to arrive so I can review it.
And if someone guesses what I’m wearing when I’m wearing this, I’ll smile at them and tell them they have a good nose for perfume.
    Cheers!

Yay! Just got this! This is light and warm. I havent smelled the original, so I dont know how it compares. It does smell like fruity warm vanilla. If youve smelled the line called “Les Senteurs Gourmandes”, this smells to me like it could have been part of the collection, except I think its a little more complex and smoother. I got it just from the description and because I dont think its a very common fragrance, which is always a plus. I dont like people guessing my perfume,I find it offensive!

This is a very nice perfume. Like fruity vanilla almonds bites, frosted in white creamy marshmallow, hard candified coatings.
Gourmand I agree, simply yummy, and I am glad I bought it.
I did buy it only on written reviews, never sniffed it before, Yae for Hanae Mori, truly delightful…..xx
