Description

Captivating clarity. Depth. Exhaling. The power of silence.

head: unusual with aromatic and fresh elements. Dewdrop green, orange flower, green lime, carrot seeds, magnolia blossoms, basil, pink pepper, bay leave.

heart: exotic fruity nuances elegantly combined with precious flower absolues. White peach, freesia, water lily, rose, jasmine, davana.

base: warm, velvety, and woody. Cedar wood, vetiver, sandalwood, guajak, basmati, musk, ambergris, moss.

For him, less is more. Where others may mix hundreds of essences, Geza Schoen restricts himself to a small selection of top-quality raw materials. The decision is founded on experience, for just a few components frequently produce the most stirring creations. Away from the mainstream, Geza Schoen has established an exclusive niche for himself in the perfumer’s art.

At the age of 13, he could already distinguish more than 100 male fragrances blindfold. His career choice was clear. Born in Kassel and at home in Berlin, Geza Schoen is one of only 30 or so perfumers in Germany – with a traditional training and radical ideas.

Geza Schön pursues the quest for a special, indeed perfect scent to correspond to people’s innermost feelings. Yet only artificially produced raw materials, he feels, can ensure a new scent experience. If the perfect scent consisted of natural raw materials, he feels, it would have been discovered long ago.

For Thorsten Biehl, Geza Schoen has created two perfumes in the biehl. parfumkunstwerke gallery: deep, clear gs01 and erotic gs02. gs01 was launched in 2007.

A gorgeous, modern, edgy and somewhat abstract citrus musk that just glows on my skin. Will not repeat the eclectic notes (you can see them above) but these give it a green fresh edge over staple citrus musks like Himalaya. Moderate in sillage, projection and longevity and beautifully blended, this is a nice showcase for the brilliant modern perfumery skills of Geza Schoen. Constantly evolves on the skin in shape shifting layers and perfectly safe for unisex office wear. If you find Himalaya too stuffy and are looking to try a citrus musk more modern and edgy you have to try this one. Very unusual and plain brilliant.

I’m not getting this scent at all, initially smells like freshly squeezed orange juice and then herbal teabag. I have sprayed tester three times and cannot understand why this scent should be in the price bracket it is. Maybe I got a bad batch. Definitely a man’s scent, perhaps a chef ?

Beautiful basil, lime and slightly peppered green opening that can be applauded, unfortunately it was dead after the top notes faded and the scent was invisible after three hours. I loved mb02 and wanted to try this. Hopefully my next wearing will have better performance bc the initial smell was fantastic.

I love the basil and orange blossom opening in gs01! I feel like putting on La Traviota music and cooking italian. This opening lasts about 2 hours before the morphing begins into something even more fantastic. Softly floral and herbs, with a powder kick on me which could be from the moss. It stays close to the skin – no big sillage here. I find this so interesting and captivating somehow. It’s very different from what I’m used to smelling. I think this scent could and should be worn by either sexes. I would love to see what it smells like on a man. I love it. Definitely FB worthy!

A bloody Mary or a tomato soup. That’s what I get. Tomato and celery.
Strange scent. Familiar but at the same time odd.
I’m speechless, I can’t say anything about the ingredients because I can’t point any of them.
After the ‘tomato’ vibe calms down a little, this fragrance turns green and slightly musky that’s when I can finally smell the peach.
Truly, I don’t know what to say. I guess I need more time to process this fragrance.

I totally agree with finzi’s review, the combination reminds me also of vine tomatoes for a short while, then that mellows out, but I find this to be more masculine. No sale for me.

Upon first application, this seems quite dark and the pepper lends a strangely dusty quality to the scent – dusty and dirty. The fruit notes are subtle, but I can pick out the peach. The combination of the pepper and peach smell like tomatoes! Not those rather anaemic things one often finds in supermarkets, but a good-quality hoemgrown tomato.
A couple of hours later, the pepper has subsided a little and I’m left with a muted fruity scent, soft and warm, not at all syrupy, but delicately woody. It feels soft and comforting. I wouldn’t say it’s sexy, but then that means different things to different people, so your mileage may vary.
Projection is quite subtle, but I imagine good enough for someone standing next to you to smell it, depending on how liberally you apply it.

It’s crispy, herbally, fresh and sexy.It includes the whole package that magnificent perfume.Suits better to men but can be used by women too, only the confident one.THe perfume stays at the beginning through the end pretty much the same. The predominant notes are sandalwood, vetiver and I think that a little extra small something gives oakmoss.Gs01 is entitled to pass!!
