My second Al-Rehab after the perfection that is Choco Musk.
On me, this fragrance dies down to a very soft, sweet, feminine, powdery floral. Definitely not unisex.
Not what I’m looking for, but I can definitely see others appreciating this. Decent quality, very long-lasting and an excellent price make this one a steal.

For me, I get strong Prada Candy vibes, as this is just dripping in caramel sweetness. This is a warm caramel sundae that lasts and lasts and lasts, similar to Golden, but without the “clean” smell that some people don’t enjoy (but I do!). Very straightforward, and could probably be used to amp up or layer with other fragrances. Super affordable and a safe blind buy!

Al-Rehab Golden Sand is what I imagine a grandpa covered in sugary caramel would smell like! I feel it’s too masculine to be unisex and too “grandpa” for a younger man. But that’s just my personal opinion. Although it isn’t listed in the notes, I get a bit of a tobacco note as well.

Steaming apple pie flavoured with a hint of clove, served with warm vanilla custard and topped off with a drizzle of salted caramel.
Edit: This is for the 6ml oil roll on. Season: Autumn.

I recently purchased Golden Sand and fell in love with it. But on my skin I find it too masculine. So I layer it with Victoria Secrets, Pure Seduction. The caramel in this fragrance is to live for, in my opinion. The other strong note, oud, is also very nice but is the note that I find alittle too masculine for me. The reason I purchased this was from a review I saw online. A guy said he was on a flight and one of the flight attendants walked by him and the scent from them was better than anything he had ever smelled. He tracked the male attendant down at the end of the flight and it was Golden Sand by Al Rehab. That was impressive to me. I think it’s something very special but I understand if some don’t feel it’s for them. If they layered it with something else I think that would change their opinion. It’s different than anything else I’ve tried and because my skin doesn’t pick up scents too well, I need something strong like this.

Just not for this delicate senior nose. A hot-caramel on vanilla ice cream sundae that get’s on your fingers and you can’t wait to wash up asap….Sorry to all who love this scent.

This scent is one I just can’t stop sniffing. I love the way this smells and I think it’s a wonderful cool weather scent in my case. Something about it is just comforting I really enjoy it, it’s sweet but not too sweet imo. I’m going to try layering this with golden but what impresses me the most is the oudh scent or what it’s supposed to be I just cannot detect. I get a woodsy note but not the oudh I’m used too. I’m actually glad as I’m not a huge oudh fan. I’m trying but I just haven’t found one I really enjoy the smell of. But this I could sniff all day! Al Rehab has a great thing going on with these roll on’s. Some I have found to be just so lovely and enjoyable. This is definitely one of them. Very happy with this one!

Great fragrance! It makes me want to lick my skin.

Creamy, caramel candy with french vanilla and tad of oud. Smells like an extra sweet mocha coffee one might get from Starbucks without the coffee note. Very much a gourmand, smells edible and natural. Too feminine for my taste. Any woman that wants to smell yummy can pull this off. If you’re a guy just layer this with Oudy from Al Rehab and it becomes more masculine. Ladies, layer this with Golden from the same house and you’ll smell absolutely undeniably delicious. Thank me later. Heck, your man will thank me too! You go girl 🙂

Kinda reminds me of a sugar cookie dipped into ‘Myrrhe Ardente’! I need to smell Spiritueuse DV and Eau des Missions- added to my list, thanks. Caramel-vanilla-myrrh are the main players to my nose… touch of benzoin, musk, and cedar. And beeswax? Simple, nicely-blended, fine for casual, cozy winter days in my book. Very sweet- definitely for gourmand-lovers only as it is a bit cloying if over-applied. Stays close to the skin, and lasts a long time.

I’m a sucker for Al-Rehab-I’ve no idea how they produce such fantastic fragrances for so little (Well, yes I do-its all synthetic but who cares when they cost pennies!). Most of the ones I’ve bought have ranged from absolutely stunning (Wigdan, Bulgarian Rose) to pleasant (Silver), and all of them have been entirely wearable.
Golden Sands is the first one that I could never wear. I’m not a gourmand fan particularly, but I added this one to a recent order on a whim. It is SWEET-toothachingly sweet. I mean, really really caramelly, toffee, sugary, fairground toffee apple and candyfloss sweet. It’s like coating yourself in molten toffee and then spending the day licking yourself. It’s a very smooth sweet with the underlying vanilla, but I smell like a giant cookie!
If you like sweet caramel fragrances, you’ll like this one. Definitely not for me-if anyone in the UK wants it, let me know and I send it on.

I have found my caramel sent after years of searching. Just for mere few dollars the result is phenomenal.
I just gave a try to this line of perfumes, expecting repulsion ! I ended up falling in love !
Layer it with pure oudh and enjoy the magic.

Delicious, warm, inviting. Gourmand all the way. The only fault it has is that it doesn’t last longer.

Delish. Sweet and warm…good for bedtime. Baked apples and caramel with some melted vanilla ice cream. Yum.

this is love at first sniff! not just for me – as soon as I received this I let a colleague try some on herself, and within an hour about ten people both men and women excitedly wanted to know the name of this little roll-on! that has NEVER happened to me before!

One take: Cologne of the Missions by Le Couvent des Minimes
That about sums it up! It’s the roll-on oil version of CoM. With a little more spice and a tad of oud with caramel, buttery goodness.
The only thing is I wish it was stronger. On me, it’s subtle. I like my scents LOUD. Especially when I really like it!
Definitely a must have in your stash for gourmand lovers!
    Moderate sillage, moderate longevity

Golden Sand is one of the true gourmands of Al Rehab, up there with Soft, Chocomusk and Dalal. Even though Golden Sand shares several notes with Golden, if you’re considering one of those two, Golden is the one you want for a vintage ambery, resinous floral, and Golden Sand is the gourmand.
Regarding Golden Sand being similar to Dalal, I disagree, however they are the two Al Rehabs that have most in common. Dalal is much sweeter and screechier, more candy and less warm vanilla, similar to Viva la juicy or like a much sweeter Escada Collection. I notice about 15% Dalal in Golden Sand.
So what about the scent? It starts with a juicy and strong note of apple and vanilla. Catching whiffs of this during the day, it gives me an overall impression of rice pudding as well. Perfectly balanced sweetness. A warm, comforting apple pie. Very reminiscent of La Danza Delle Libellule by Nobile 1942, with notes of vanilla and red apple. Also slightly reminiscent of Lann-Ael by Lostmarc’h, with notes of vanilla, wheat, milk and apple.
My only regret is not getting this sooner. I could’ve saved several moneys getting only this, erasing the need for the two mentioned above. This is by far my favourite gourmand by Al Rehab, and it’s very long lasting.

@glittergalz: take some time to settle down the oil fragrances if are fresh-made, just take it in a fresh dark place for a couple of weeks and give it another chance 😉

I bought this because it was on sale but I should have known it wasn’t gonna work for me. It does smell startlingly similar to Kors Midnight Shimmer which I’ve already owned and returned. Oh Well! ….If you are looking a for an amazingly cheap dupe for the aforementioned perfume then your in luck. Golden Sand is rich, warm, sweet and as someone already mentioned…buttery. Good longevity and moderate projection. If anyone wants to try it let me know. I have some to share/spare. 🙂

Butter tarts in a bottle. What a wonderful gourmand scent. Such lusciousness. It makes me hungry! Al-Rehab really delivered with this one. It lasts for hours and is such a good quality scent that I can’t believe how little it costs. Some say this is a men’s scent, but I can’t see any of the men I know wearing something so sweet.

  21. :

    4 out of 5

Delicious! This is incredibly similar to Dalal, which is probably my favorite fragrance from Al-Rehab. This one is a little less sweet and a little more masculine. I think I’d really enjoy this on a man!
Golden sand is warm and cozy with a touch of sweetness in its own right. It lasts forever and sillage is very strong. This is a very well-made fragrance!

I had high high hopes for this. Maybe I got a bad seller? I can smell it in the bottle and like the smell…but when I put it on my skin (gobs and gobs) I smell nodda, and it feels waxy not like my other Al-Rehabs. It does help mellow the spoiled? “Golden” I got from another seller. “Golden isn’t supposed to smell bitter and rancid, right? These two were my favorite descriptions and somehow I got screwed only on the two I wanted most? I have 8 Al-Rehabs. =(

Oh man…I was gifted this and I am in love. I wish I would have had this when my daughter was little…I would dab it on her after her bath but…sigh…I anointed my little kitten and he smells sooo yummy…It is a syrupy, dripping vanilla sugar. It’s probably the amber and oud that keep it from being totally juvenile. It’s warm, sweet and pretty much just yummy..safe blind buy.

This is a batch of warm caramel sticky buns smothered on your body. Cozy and delicious amber vibe. Nothing but softness and creaminess. I feel like this is my $5.00 therapy because it lifts my mood and brings comfort as soon as I put it on. Will always have this around.

  25. :

Delicious! It’s very golden and warm as the name would suggest. A vanilla caramel scent great on its own or for layering (try it with Fancy Nights by Jessica Simpson, trust me) it’s enveloping and cosy. Strangely enough, I smell peach in the beginning and at this stage find it very similar to Midnight Shimmer by Michael Kors. However, the dry down is a straight forward creamy vanilla, amber and caramel. I get no citrus and just a touch of floral and woods. I really love to spray this on the back of my hand before bed so I can snuggle with my hand under my face and sniff away! I like it much better than Dalal which turned so medicinal on me I scrubbed it off.

Vanilla and caramel lovers… this is a very safe blind buy. It’s a very easy to like deep and rich caramel/vanilla scent which never gets cloying or too sweet. I have the oil version, which has above average longevity. This is very much in the same vein as Cologne of the Missions by Le Couvent des Minimes (which is also a very similar scent to Spiritueuse Double Vanille by Guerlain). Highly recommended for such an inexpensive price.

Wow amazing fragrance by Al-rehab. Aptly named and evoking Golden Sand is what comes to mind when smelling this fragrance. This totally smells beautiful … it’s the right amount of sweetness for a men’s fragrance could be unisex for confident women. Dignified sexy classy stuff suitable anytime, and anywhere. Smells a bit edible *Homer simpson drool*. Casually recommended. Smells luxurious.
Edit: A light gourmand scent for those who don’t often reach for gourmands 12+ h. longevity.

I love this scent! It’s everything I wanted to find in Dalal, which unfortunately was a miss for me. (Dalal sadly turned medicinal on me.) But this! Golden Sand is a beautiful, cozy, caramel fragrance that dries down to a soft, musky powdery finish. I’m so grateful for all the reviews on this, because being described as a “men’s” fragrance, I may have passed on this treasure. If you’re wondering if this is blind buy worthy, don’t hesitate, it’s definitely another winner from Al Rehab! I have a feeling Golden Sand will be warming up many cold drab winter days soon to come.

  31. :

    5 out of 5

I’m really on the fence with this one. The sillage is incredible for an oil (at least in my experience, since I’ve never had one wafting up around me strongly enough for other people to notice it; oils always tend to stick close to my skin). However, I was expecting gourmand vanilla and that’s not quite what I’m getting.
I’m getting powder. Vanilla-y powder, but powder nonetheless. I figure this is probably whatever floral notes they’ve included amping up and smothering the vanilla and caramel. My skin can be a devil sometimes!
Powdery scents can be comforting, but not at this strength. I’ll have to wear only the tiniest dab if I reach for it in the future.
It IS sweet; I wouldn’t challenge that assertion in a million years. But I don’t just have one sweet tooth, I have a whole mouth full of them; I like my sweet fragrances to be in-your-face unapologetic edible deliciousness from top to bottom, so both ChocoMusk and Dalal have a clear leg up over Golden Sand as far as I’m concerned.
Interestingly I can still see this being TOO sweet for some people, while it’s not quite sweet enough for me. I think this will be nice to layer, however.

I bought six al-rehab 6ml oil rollerball and this my favorite. It’s marketed as a man fragrance but I think it’s a unisex fragrance at best and leaning on the female side.i would agree it does smell like a sample I got in the magazine for ari. Nevertheless I will be using this…good job al-rehab.

  33. :

    5 out of 5

First let me say…I love it! (3 ml roll on)
Wait…. Golden Sand for men Huh?? What??
Not masculine to me, at all! I think men can wear it but its not manly smelling. I guess what I want to say is: why not call it unisex like some of the other Al Rehabs?
At first sniff this is what I get.
    VANILLA ICE CREAM
    keep sniffing
caramel, amber, faint touch of smoke/wood?
    I love this golden sand.
Its a very comfy smell. I love wearing it to bed. It’s snuggly warm, creamy, dreamy, and sweet. I put a couple dots on my jammys and I’m still smelling it strong in the morning. Last forever on clothes. Longevity is great and you can smell it on yourself. Layers great when you need a little sweetness.
enough said… 5 stars. Another happy purchase from Al Rehab!

This is a great one out from Alrehab. Smells like Carmel wood. Reminding of 24 gold the tondown virsion. mean as smooth virsion. It’s good to buy. For less then $15.
    It’s pleasant smell!

  35. :

Immediately after applying this oil, I get a soft woody note, but not exactly oud. I actually think there is sandalwood in here.
This is the perfect caramel scent for someone like me who dislikes overly sweet scents, but who craves a caramel perfume. The oud is definitely there. So is the amber. The slightest hint of florals help to balance this and make it a grown up scent.
It doesn’t develop much for me, but it stays forever and is such a warm delicious fragrance that when I wear it, it’s all I want to ever smell!
Perfection! I’m heartbroken that Al-Rashad didn’t carry the 6ml rollerballs.

  36. :

    4 out of 5

    I must confess….
Golden Sand is growing on me. The more I wear it the more expensive it smells and the more I notice a hint of oud after all. 🙂 It’s more complex than it appeared originally, which is something I’ve grown to appreciate in fragrances. The layering potential is virtually endless, adding a warmth and sweetness to overtly masculine fragrances or spicy unisex.
Summary: An EXCELLENT scent from Al Rehab.
    Kudos!

  37. :

    4 out of 5

This was my first Al Rehab purchase and I was amazed at the longevity and quality. now that I have tried quite a few I know that quality and longevity can be expected of Arabian oils in general. Golden Sand smells like caramel at first, then more like spiced honey. You catch a tad of woody oud in the dry down. A wonderful gourmand and I paid under 5 bucks for a 6 ml rollerball.

  38. :

    3 out of 5

Very pretty. A honeyed amber and touch-of-caramel scent with a decided orange undertone. Sweet orange, mind you! The end result is sunny, warm, and upbeat. It’s not an ambergris or balsamic type of fragrance, but rather a youthful take on amber, IMHO.
Comparisons to Dalal are somewhat helpful, even though it is not much like. Dalal is incredibly more caramel-gooey-sweet and has a touch of oud Golden Sand is missing. Of the two, my favorite is Dalal, as for me it can be worn alone perfectly, the richest gourmand experience ever!
Whereas Golden Sand – for all it’s labeled as a masculine – seems very simple and reminds me of a (good) celebrity scent for teens and up. Nothing my grandmother would have worn, which is the sort of fragrance I adore. She wore magical drugstore scents, including Coty Dark Vanilla for a while. It smelled divine on her. Dalal is more or less a caramel version of that to my nose. Luxurious!
As for Golden Sand, it is a very useful Al Rehab. I also have a roller ball of the lovely, more masculine Golden. The latter has an odd edge on me that I’ve never fully understood. Layered with Golden Sand – voila! Balance is restored, and the whole thing is far more feminine. That’s what I call a win-win. 😀
    Recommended.

Oh this is just plain yummy. Lovely sweet caramel and amber scent that hovers delightfully. Not overwhelming and quite linear but when it’s this pretty who cares?

  40. :

    4 out of 5

Al-Rehab Sand (not Golden Sand) opens with a fresh burst of hairspray as with most Al-Rehab fragrances I own. I quickly detect an aromatic sandiness, for lack of a better term: white floral, woods, some fresh and warm spices, a faint touch of oud and…yes, muddied sand. On one hand it’s unique and I have never quite smelled anything like it. On the other hand, it’s not that great of a scent…it’s not bad, just not that good. The dry-down smells a little better and seems to add a bit of mossy accord.
Performance is okay’ish…last 5-hours on my skin and projects moderately. Offhand, there are many better Al-Rehab fragrances you should evaluate before this one IMO.

  41. :

    3 out of 5

I bought this on Amazon for 3mL under $10. It VERY much reminds me of slightly more smokey Fancy by Jessica Simpson (which must be the oud, but if it was a log and on the fire). Ari by Ariana Grande actually also smells like Fancy too, but mixed with Pink Friday by Nicki Minaj, but this isn’t the place to review all that.
I’d be completely turned off if a man wore this scent, I wouldn’t even call it unisex.

  42. :

    3 out of 5

When first applied this smells just like hot buttered rum, then it turns into a warm smell of deep dark vanilla and caramel. Sillage is low from the roll on oil I purchased. For the price I am very happy with it and it will be great for the cooler months.

  43. :

    5 out of 5

I purchased the roll-on perfume oil of this fragrance. So far I like it. I feel like it certainly passes as unisex, a male or female could use this no problem. In a way, it reminds me of Blue Sugar by Aquolina, but more spicy/woodsy, probably from the Amber and Oud. I think the vanilla is pretty noticeable, but not overpowering, the fragrance stays close to the skin. I do notice a bit of a caramel note as well. I do not however get any “floral” out of this. Anyhow, it is pretty good.

  44. :

    3 out of 5

As the reviewer below me has mentioned, this does indeed smell like Cologne of the Missions, but wait, it’s fresher!
This is so unexpected, I smell apples! It’s those late autumn garden apples that have been baked then straight out of the oven they’re topped with vanilla, chewy caramel and real creamy vanilla sauce, the whole melt-in-your mouth-mess delightfully marrying together.
I smell no oud at all, and thank heavens and all it’s angels, no flowers. Well maybe the apple flower.
For a gourmand lover like me, this is HG, I dare you to try this and not like it. Goes straight up to my 5 favourite list and (oh the surprise!) knocks Cologne of the Missions off the shelf. CoM still stays as one of the perfect Vanillas for me, but this is dessert delight without being too sweet or smokey.
I purchased both oil and spray and tested both. Longevity is out of this world. On clothes it’s days, even a week in some cases, on skin it’s a good 12h.
And for tiny money, I mean really, really bargain basement prices here folks, you get beast projection, beast longevity and a rainbow colored vanilla unicorn smell. El happy dance!!
    Damn I love this stuff.

This smells exactly like Cologne of the Missions by Le Couvent des Minimes! So yummy.

  46. :

Out of all the al rehab fragrances I’ve bought, this one is by far my favourite! It smells to me a little similar to dalal, but more expensive, which is strange. It has the same Smokey caramel feel to it, just more refined. I haven’t noticed great silage with this one, but longevity is great. More than 6 hours and still going strong

  47. :

This is a fragrance for anyone who would like to smell exactly like Nilla wafers. It makes me smell like a cookie, and that’s just dandy!

  48. :

What a great surprise! I tried the pocket spray of Golden (yes, different scent) a long time ago, was a little horrified at the strange whiff and wrote off most of the Arabian oils because I was afraid of nasty/unpleasant surprises. This is reminiscent of Cologne of the Missions, but I suspect this will last a few hours longer than the cologne. This is slightly sweeter and a tad more floral than CoM. But side by side they are very similar (CoM is woodier). The little 3ml bottle is the cutest thing ever. Kinda wish all the attars came in this size, as even 6ml of the potent oils can be daunting to my Western and lazy nose. I decided to revisit these again as I am having success with layering my wardrobe and am having a lot more fun with my collection. Al Rehab forgive me for doubting that the gems I found would be the only ones. Thumbs up, I am back!

I know this is a men’s scent, but I never knew this when I purchased it.
And ohh my was I inn for a VERY pleasant surprise!!
It smells divine, my now very favourite scent, other than Noora.
I purchased the oil, 10 ml for £5.00
At my local perfume oil supplier ( lucky me its within walking distance)
A very beautiful, sweeet, chocolatey, warm, wonderfully comforting scent.
It does tend to stay close to the skin, and doesn’t develope much. Yet it has an air of elegance. Which comes with the dry down.
It lasts on my skin all day.i apply in the morning for work, say 7.30 am and I can still smell it before I go to bed at 10.00pm.
Its a daytime scent, IMO. and I wore this through both summer and autumn.
Worth every penny, and I would say, better than Dalal, as Dalal is too sweet, and can be a tad sickly, if you over use. Where this simply gets better and better, no matter how much you apply.
