Description

“All the glisters is not gold”
William Shakespeare

The yellow color is quite exotic in the world of roses as it attracts attention with a so far yet to be experienced combination of olfactive impressions. A teasing sour-sweet blackberry dipped in chocolate invites you to explore all the layers of this sweet woody-floral fragrance poured with golden spicy dust. This fragrance is not about dewy morning rose, its sweet and spicy character works better for a romantic night. Gold Rush was launched in 2011. The nose behind this fragrance is Lynn Emmolo.

Blind bought this a couple of summers ago. Like others I found it at TJ MAXX/Marshalls for $9.99 and felt like the universe just gave me a present as I had only seen this collection at Nieman Marcus for ten times more. Like Tom Ford Noir de Noir it’s chocolate and roses but something in it (the dash of ylang ylang perhaps) makes it lighter and more suitable for warm weather. 3.4 oz will last me years and years I’m sure. I’ve considered parting with it recently because my collection is getting a bit out of hand, but I realized I still enjoy too much to let go just yet.

This rose can love those who are not very fond of rose such as me. Me hard to get along with fragrances in which rose plays a major role, or where enough to make me dizzy and full of flavor rejection from myself (often the aroma is to me very like, but the chemistry of the skin, or the peculiarities of personal perception of the combination of the fragrance for yourself). Train in the distance meter is clearly noticeable. Indoors, warm, or where it is not cold and not betrays))) – fragrance is able to play and surprise and delight and bring pleasure, it creates an aura of comfort and positivity. It`s well and comfortable. It is convenient. My assessment is “A”!

I don’t get much spice, cocoa or woods. Mostly the floral notes. I wasn’t crazy about Avon Extraordinary and that is what this reminds me of but even that one was more interesting. I am sure floral lovers will be in heaven with this one, because don’t get me wrong it’s a lovely scent. My tastes just run more towards the spicy the woodsy and the strange.

Gold Rush is a spicy gourmand floral and wood scent, easy to wear by anyone of any age or gender. It smells of dark chocolate which actually matches up with the ebony wood scent. I would say that it reminds me just a little bit of Encre Noir but for me much more enjoyable. The orange flower and the ylang pairing is lovely. This smells like the cologne of a Madame who runs a bordello in a town in the Old West, something for Miss Kitty on Gunsmoke. This fragrance also reminds of Elizabeth Taylor Diamonds and Rubies had there been a chocolate note in it, which would have been awesome. This is an evening cologne, sexy, seductive, and very glamorous. The only problem I have with it is because it’s linear and has no top middle and base note formula it’s over in less than 3 hours. But generally I love it. I like to wear this with evening gowns when I perform in gigs. Highly recommended. I’ve invested a lot of my hard earned money on perfume and this Dozen Roses line never disappoints!

I won this perfume from a giveaway(thanks Lepalm!) and it’s such a captivating scent! The ylang-ylang in it is definitely noticeable and smells great.I also think this perfume is perfect for winter months and the silage is strong which I love-as well as the longevity.I love it.

After trying a few others from the A Dozen Roses fragrance line I almost gave up hope on actually liking any of the fragrances. Gold Rush was the only one I kept on my “want” list because I knew the notes listed were what I look for in a fragrance. Fortunately I was able to swap with another fragrantica member for Gold Rush and I really like it a lot! Soapy rose and powdery sweet ylang yalng with blackberry chocolate. Yum!

I managed to find all of these, and bought them all to try, only to find that something in the base they use is giving me a headache. Of all of these, Gold Rush is my favorite. Rich, golden floral from the ylang and rose. But even this gave me a headache. I occasionally run into a full line of fragrances that does this to me, such as Elizabeth Taylor.

What a beautiful perfume…believe me.I get a full new size bottle on tjmaxx for just…..9.99…. I even ask the lady on the front desk how can.be possible that this perfume that cost 125$ is just here for a glimpse of that price….and she tell me…that she believe that the price person….make a mistake…..so…
Is not the best long lasting/sillage perfume…but the smell is so addictive and beautiful…even the name and the bottle…and the little poem of William Shakespeare on the back….Is just beautiful….

this one i pick up the ylang-ylang quite well. i get a hint of chocolate. something musky. something spicy. not over powering, but now light as well. its a bit in the middle.
after it dries down, i really smell the berry in it. its not like a sweet berry, more like a mood enhancing berry. seductive in a way.
i dont get much of the rose, but more or less a chocolate berry pie in a way, but not in a sweet way but a dark, seductive one.

I recently bought a sample of this gorgeous perfume. I fell in love. That is until I saw the cost. Holy cow. The only two bottles I found searching the internet was on Amazon and Neiman Marcus………both at $108.00 a bottle. Might have to ask Santa for this one ;o) I love the fragrance so very much that I am tempted to splurge on myself but………..I just can’t.
EDIT: What a fantastic day! I went to Marshalls trying to find another fragrance and low and behold there was a 3.4oz bottle of this for $50!!! I would have bought them out of stock if they had of had more :o) Lucked out with grabbing the last one (guess I did buy them out of stock lol). I’m still stunned. And thrilled!! They also had another by A Dozen Roses….Shakespeare in Love…for $50. I’m hitting another Marshalls this weekend :o)

This fragrance smells very like potpourri. It doesn’t smell bad, but there is just not anything distinctive about it. There are cheaper rose scents that are the same quality. I didn’t even smell the cacao very much. To me it was just a woody, spicy rose, nothing special.

I was looking for a new fragrance, something not mainstream and different from the fragrances of my past. I was intrigued by the bottle and exclusivity (only at Neiman Marcus)…initially I liked the softness of the fragrance however I didn’t detect rose right away, it warmed and sweetened considerably on my skin and the rose emerged in a rich, unexpected way that reminded me of Stella McCartney’s Stella. Throughout the day I fell more in love with Gold Rush, definitely a fragrance for a passionate person looking to make a statement but still soft enough to not overwhelm the wearer and those nearby. Love it and love the bottle! Excellent value (eau de parfum 3.4 oz $95)…long lasting with a beautiful dry down. Perfect for an exotic daytime fragrance and spritz on a bit more for evening…Enjoy!
