Gleam is an unusual fragrance. At first spray, I get a very strong blast of cloves and sour currants. This very masculine phase lasts about an hour, projecting about 12 inches.
Then the violets and jasmine join in. I start to feel the cedar, too, but it’s not pencil shavings. It’s smooth and woody. The cloves are still apparent but much more calm. Still very masculine feeling.
After about 3 hours, Gleam changes to a cool slightly powdery FEEL of iris, violets and a little touch of rose. At this point, the cloves are not as sharp and Gleam has become a very close to skin scent with cedar and cloves. The sour currants are subdued to a soft undercurrent. This dry down is office friendly, subtle and classy. Overall, Gleam lasts on my skin about 6 to 8 hours.
Gleam could easily be unisex. It’s not very sweet, and not really powdery at all.
Beautiful bottle, heavy glass with the word “Gleam” spelled out in very small faux rhinestones. Impressive to look at and a pleasure to wear.
