Description

Lemonish-green, very refreshing and slightly sweet shades of lemon verbena are the right choice for hot summer ahead of us. L’Occitane en Provence cherishes the collection dedicated to verbena, completes it and regenerates with fragrant products among which the most prominent ones are eaux de toilette, which are launched in different versions each year. The game of luminous and sunny citruses and verbena, enriched with fragrant herbs contributes to refreshment and cooling during warm summer days and provides relaxing and calming aromas of green notes and medical plants affecting body and mind.

The latest limited edition arriving on the market in 2014 was named Frisson de Verveine and will provide a refreshing blend of citruses, bergamot, lemon verbena and cucumber, resting on precious wood and musk.

Fragrance Frisson de Verveine is available as 100ml Eau de Toilette accompanied with perfumed body care collection, which encompasses fragrant body gel, hand cream, fragrant shower gel, fragrant bath salt, body mist (body fragrance) and lip gloss.

I just tested it and am wearing it as I type. The opening was HORRID. Like I just sprayed myself with a strong disinfectant. After it cools down it has a light lime smell. Overall I was quite displeased with it, which is disappointing because most of L’Occitane’s scents smell nice to amazing, I guess this is one of those exceptions (for me at least).

For me, a better citric take than traditional Verbena, which, while stronger, may smell rancid easily when I wear it.

I live in a very hot climate, and this scent suits the weather perfectly!
It’s light, fun and refreshing, and the longevity was surprisingly long for such a fleeting fragrance.
Apart from the prominant verbena, I get not only citrus but a very “green” note, and I think I can even smell some cucumber.
Sure, it’s not a perfume to express your character by, but for me it’s a sure bet for a chill in summertime.

I fell in love with this scent for its freshness and uniqueness. However, I grew tired of it and nowadays I prefer more feminine fragrances; I live in a northern country and I can’t imagine I’d ever need a fragrance so intensely refreshing, perhaps only when I go away on holiday.

I didn’t like the citrusy smell when I first tested it on the paper strip but as it start to developed the cucumber and verbena started to come out and made me reconsidered it. After testing it on my skin at the shop I found the overall smell ok but I wasn’t sure about buying it (I was trying to choose between Frisson de Verveine and Fleurs de Cerisier). But it smelled really fresh and clean on my father and we end up getting it.
However, when i used it the smell is so much better than when i tested it and I end up using it more than Fleurs de Cerisier (Cherry Blossom) because it is more suited to my tropical climate. I used it when i want to feel refresh without overpowering it, usually after too much study.
Now I just fell in love with it and trying to save it for special occasion since it’s an limited edition.
The only downside is longevity but I guess it is to be expected for perfume with organics ingredients. 1-2 sprays usually last for 4-5 hours on me (I live in tropical country).

I have to agree with reviews that complain about longevity in this fragrance.
When you spritz it, the smell is deliciously fresh and soothing but it only last for 1 hour.
In Brazil the weather is really hot (we use to call Rio de Janeiro as Hell de Janeiro), so it could be the perfect fragrance, but the lack of longevity and the need to keep reapplying is a pain… and the price here is not that attractive to buy it again (it costs R$225,00 = 80 usd or 69 euro).

    Mocktail in a bottle!
Bright, lemony Verbena with cucumber for the first ten minutes. Then it settles down and the other citrus notes come into play. The woods and musk are barely noticeable but ground the uplifting citruses.
It’s a light and refreshing fragrance. Makes me think of beachside mojitos. It’s linear but Perfect on hot and humid days. It wears close to the skin after the first hour, radiates at 1-2 inches after 4 hrs.

I love the fresh notes of Verbena mingled with citruses and cucumber, but to me the biggest disappointment is its low longevity. Like most reviewers here pointed out, the only time I smell it is when I spray it. I smell heaven, and boom, the fragrance has disappeared in less than half hour. Given its moderate price tag and subjective availability in India, I feel thoroughly let-down, as the fragrance otherwise seems to have everything going for it. I’d love to buy this again if they ever strengthen the formula, else I’m never purchasing it again.

It’s true that this does not last any longer than a half hour on my skin, but I love it so much! The scent is fairly linear on my skin with a blast a verbena and cucumber hiding in the background. I do detect a hint of musk and wood on the drydown which gives it a very earthy quality. In fact, it is so natural and reminds me of a summer morning after the rain. Even in the hottest weather this scent is not overwhelming, but refreshing. Best to carry this fragrance with you in a travel spray to revive and refresh in the hot weather. I will purchase another bottle or two before in case it will be discontinued.

A lovely fragrance, but the only time I can smell it is when I put it on!
If you like to please others with the perfume you wear and don’t care whether you can smell it too, this is the one 🙂
I would definitely not buy it if I knew that it’s so weak.

The longevity of Verveine Frisson is terrible, but I love that about it, because I put it on right after my shower and it doesn’t interfere with my scent of the day. It’s an extremely refreshing and natural smelling cologne-strength fragrance, featuring the L’Occitane “house verbena” which pops up in different permutations year after year, along with some delicious yet vague woody fresh green notes. It is NOT in any way aquatic or ozonic, despite its listed cucumber and “water-extract” notes (listed directly on the box)… Yes you heard that right: water extract. Moving right along…
Verveine Frisson is a beautiful summer refreshment. The body care line is also wonderful, albeit a little aloe-like in texture as Ducktail pointed out below. Recommended.

I tested this twice. I admit, I sprayed a lot since the verbena fragrances don’t really last. But this surprised me. After a day of wearing it, when I got into the shower that night, the warmth must have activated the fragrance because I could smell it again! And I loved the scent that lingered after! So I tried it again. This time, sprayed on one arm, with the gel cream and on the other arm used my favorite citrus verbena. At the end of the day, I was wondering what I was smelling in the car then realized it’s the new fragrance. Maybe I’m so used to Citrus Verbena that it doesn’t stand out to me anymore. Either way, I had to get the Frisson and I’m loving it! The fresh, herbal fragrance with just that woodiness to the dry down is intoxicating. The shower gel is fun — it seems more slimy in a good way — like aloe vera. Apply directly in shower without sponge! The gel-cream moisturizer is a great alternative to lotions in this heat. I fell asleep lost night in the crisp, freshness of Firsson! Yum!

Lighter than their sorbet verbena, which is one of my favorites, but very similar and also contains a lemon note. I think the best summer perfume of the season.

Wow, this is suprisingly exciting, I think it’s my favourite version of this line yet. I’m a fan of cucumbury scents but they can be very artificial and can easily make you feel sickly.
I think it would also last quite well in the warm weather, very refreshing and green, but not too masculine.

I tested this in the store, will be available from next week. Wow, a blast of freshness, really well done. They succeeded to give a nice twist to this flanker. Considing to buy it, will be rezlly nice during the Summer period. The opening smelled sour sweet, almost as green apple kind of smell mingled with lime, delicious combination and although it is a light scent, it has still enought character to wear as a real edt and not just water cologne ! Worth trying !!
