With the notes as beautiful as these, I had very high hopes for Essence. To my dismay, it smelled oily and industrial. I do like a bit of an industrial aspect to my fragrances but this elicited somber images of gas station burgers or a hydrocarbon poisoned marine mammal’s corpse. Such idea might work as a fuel to statement art but hardly applicable when it comes to perfume. Well, perhaps it could work as a statement fragrance too, if renamed a”Biohazard Essence” and bottled appropriately.

This is reminiscent of Ellen Tracy Bronze. Just a bit. It seems though that this has more vanilla, more woods and no effervescence like Bronze has. I like it. Not sure if I love though.

This is not my usual style at all (aquatics hardly ever work for me) but I really really like Essence. I smell dry tea bag and a touch of soft peppermint incense and freesia and salt from a river beach on the skin, and rose pollen and a touch of vanilla. It opens harsh though and the nozzle smells a little like gasoline. I had to wait 10 minutes for the unique elegance I find here. This one fascinates me and puts me in a dreamy haze. So much fun!

This is very pretty! The first spray reminds me of B by Balenciaga. This lasts for about 10 minutes. Then, it changes to salty ocean air and light vanilla. It smells very soft and natural. If Paco Rabanne Olympea is too harsh for you, like it is for me, give this a try!!

Sadness! Thumbs down, another wasted blind buy tonight. Like Mediterranean, Essence had me fooled for a minute. It’s opening is warm, woody, and soft.
But as I was driving I started to smell pencil erasers. There is something gummy and, it’s hard to describe: blunt or blocky or dull, like Pergo or Formica… or pencil erasers. Is it the ooky blend of synthetic teak and musk?
Just find it so unpleasant. Something approaching a wet wool blanket. But that is not really fair to the wool.

Reminds me of Yves Rochers’ Comme une Evidence, though with better sillage, longevity, and power. Less natural smelling, perhaps, but we pray a price for longevity! As if in recompense, Essence is also more complex than Yves Rocher’s perennially popular offering.
Those who enjoy the latter will likely find this a pleasant variation, especially as it doesn’t require respraying throughout the day. 🙂

Every single notes are kinda well-blended together, very smooth woody and soft musky scent.
I’m sure my nose detect a lotus pepper and sesame and I think I use to perceive kinda this phenorminal smelling before ..
Essence really drive me in and all the time I sniff, it reminds me of Lacoste pour femme, that is the one of my fevorie in the past before it was discontinued or I couldn’t find any in my country :(, so this one I would say they’re quite similar.
This is a good alternative for anyone who’re looking for well-made floral woody musk scent, sillage is okay not too loud but it does really last on me .. 🙂

I love it. Very pleasant and refined.
It smells like a flower garden in spring, delicate and sweet, very similar to a bouquet of fresh mimosa flowers.
Can be worn all day, anywhere, anytime.

I sprayed this on today and it is delightfully addictive. The vanilla is perfect. It reminds me of a mix of Kenzo Amour and Herve Leger. The lasting power is great. This is a definite winner!
