Blind smell test this with Sauvage …am I wrong? HAHA Escada was well ahead of its time

Again, this is sheer brilliance and one of the best kept secrets out there. 5-8 sprays (mainly on the body) and it will perform with the body heat the entire day. Subtle freshness with a sexy dark kick. Its a second skin type of fragrance. Signature material here! LOVE!

I tested this several times and I just can’t do it. It smells exactly like Fabuloso Lavender floor cleaner!!!

I see some referrence here to Vetiver Extraordinaire than I realize both created by Ropion sharing smilar notes but it is smooth while Vetiver Ext dirty, anyway they are good but.. not necessary

This does have quite a bit of Aventus (or Aqva Amara) resemblance in the opening, but replace pineapple with berries & juniper. There is also a bit of a metallic-body-spray note to it, which makes sense as it was meant to be cheap. Projection on me is strong for 1 hour and fades away after 3 hours. It’s a good cheap fragrance, but since it’s not cheap anymore, there are lots of good replacements of this made today.

Everyone said it was a fruity fragrance, but I don’t think it is. Sentiment is wholly linear – all I can detect is a peppery and sweet minty, medicinal accord. The opening has a fizzy-ness about it and the drydown has a nuance of gasoline or leather very similar to the gasoline vibe I get from Body Kouros.
Everyone says this is generic – that’s not something I could call Sentiment.
I couldn’t make much out of this one.

PS: after a full day of wearing this juice,I can tell that its very potent with excellent longevity and above average silage & projection! Very good performance!

I think this is far from generic. You can sense the effort of them doing something with the aim of being popular but also having a personality and special vibe. Its a great juice because it achieves both. Synthetic? Ok! I don’t mind. Its dark and fresh at the same time. The lime, pepper, juniper combo keeps it fresh and vital, while the dry down has a woodiness that provides a solid base and the nutmeg keeps it spicy. Whats important here the fact the its a UNIQUE BLEND, which does not aim to only smell fresh or citrusy, or peppery, or like a specific genre which so is popular these days (smelling like chocolate, coffee or a tiramisú. The blend they created is definitely a stand alone, unique and super special smell which sets itself apart from anything I know. Its also very sexy. Very sexy. Its urban yet maintains a juicy vibe as well. Love this to bits. Performance is satisfying also! One of my best blind purchases!

Does anyone notice the similarity between Escada Sentiment pour homme with Dior Higher?
Regardless of what’s listed in FR, I smell pear and peppers.
The difference between both is, ESPH feels a bit warmer (24-32 degrees Celcius) and DH is minty colder (10-21 degrees Celcius).
I also smell light vetiver, sandalwood, incense in the background; which add more warmth and depth to it.
Projection and longevity are of average. Very versatile; day and night, or four seasons.
Perhaps my most favorite Escada fragrance for men.

Requiem for a beloved one: It’s always sad when a bottle of a discontinued fragrances empties. But today is the day of the last spray. I always appreciated this one’s combination of freshness with filthinss. A slight note of naughtiness makes this one of Dominique Ropion’s finest. It is and naturally forever will be one of (many) scents of my youth. Farewell.

This is such a great fragrance. Got a sample and I instantly fell in love with it. As I remember, the jackfruit is very prominent in this scent along with the pepper and lime.
I tried to preserve as much a I can of the sample that I had. Sadly, I believe this one is discontinued.

I`ve been wearing this somehow unique fragrance for quite many years. I like a lot of odours but it must be the only men`s parfume I can say I love. Besides, my wife approves it.
First, it`s amazing how greatly it`s name fits it. Yes, I feel sentimental wearing it indeed.
Escada Sentiment is definitely different and imperfect parfume but probably that`s why I love it. It`s like loving your naughty younger brother just because he`s yours.
This fragrance can`t compete with a lot more sofisticated brands like Chanel when it comes to classiness, intricate development etc. The opinions of fellow people smelling Sentiment on me are rather polarised. From – It`s simply AMAZING! What are you wearing? To – Gosh! You smell of marijuana! So, this scent may be controversial.
I`ve never felt a tint of feminism in it. And of course it`s woody, it`s simply far too different from the mainstream woody perfumes.
I adore juniper berry note. It`s a challenge to use it as this note is too loud. Moreover it may well simplify the mixture.
Once you get acquainted with Sentiment you will never confuse it with anything else.
So thanks much, Escada for the sentiment you induce in me!

I have no idea why this fragnance is called woody. for me Sentiment is a fruity and floral fragnance; actually was too different than any other alternatives.
most popular men’s fragnances are either spicy, woody or fresh. only this one was such sweet and fruity. I always felt good when I spray this in the morning.
I really miss sentiment dude …

Created in 2002, through a partnership between Dominique Ropion and Laurent Bruyere, this cologne hit the market to make pair with its female version, released two years earlier.
Although it is considered a woody-aromatic fragrance, because of its base notes, in my opinion is totally fruity and aromatic.
Its composition is unique and there are a lot of doubts about it. If you search the internet you will find miscellaneous information regarding its olfactory pyramid. Nothing that a few hours of research and a few emails cannot solve.
In the head, notes of lime, Juniper and jackfruit; in the heart, notes of nutmeg, pink pepper and Lombok pepper (lombok chili) from Indonesia; in the base, notes of sandalwood, cedar and vetiver from Haiti.
When it touches the skin, is almost feminine. Its fruity content is delicious and juicy. After a few minutes, becomes more aromatic and masculine. As always, I see criticism on the peppery side of the fragrance, as a part that was not fulfilled as people desired. What people don’t know, but it is worth remembering, is that the pink pepper does not result in a peppery aroma.
During the major part of the evolution, the juniper – with its peculiar aroma of gin – balances the fruity output. And from the base, the Cedar is the most alive note on the skin.
Unfortunately, on my skin, it behaves like a summer scent, very similar to the summer releases already known. Is versatile and looks good for short periods of time. It projects a lot at first, but vanishes, without a trace, after about 4 hours of use. A shame!
The bottle doesn’t tell me anything, but the color is beautiful: an intense and sexy Ruby Red. Escada Sentiment was discontinued and today divides opinions: to some, a masterpiece; for others, a synthetic and poorly made creation.

I’ve got two partial 100 ml bottles, but they are not made by the same company. The one by Escada Beaute is excellent for what it is, a take on the generic woody/citrus “masculine” that is very good when I’m in the mood for it. One spray in the middle of the chest is all I need! Then there is the one made by Scannon, which has a muddled/fuzzy/heavy quality up top and lack of clarity in the base, without the crisp wood/vetiver of the other one. I’ve come across other Scannon formulations and I now avoid any scent that was originally made by another company before they took over production. So, if you don’t like this scent, look at the label on the bottom of the bottle and tell readers which company made the one you are reviewing, please!
For example, sakallibebek’s review, below, sounds like the Scannon one I have but not at all like the Escada Beaute bottle I’ve got.

Escada Pour Homme is a really classy fragrance. Escada Magnetism is a very modern and sexy scent.
Sentiment though is a harder one to categorise. If you can imagine a more synthetic and powerful version of Calvin Klein’s Contradiction then you would be on the right track.
Sentiment is quite rare but I recently picked up a 100ml bottle off eBay. Not the best fragrance in my collection but far from the worst. It’s a very modern and contemporary scent that doesn’t evolve much from the opening to the dry down bit smells lovely and could quite easily be classed as unisex.
A good date scent for a guy in his 20s to 30s. Fairly simple mixture of lime (which is what reminds me of Contradiction), some kind of synthetic red fruit and woods.

I bought this in the early 2000’s when I would buy a bunch of colognes but rarely ever wear them. It’s def a great scent and don’t know why it isn’d made anymore.

i love this perfume so much but the i could not find it anymore here in my country . I heard that they discontinued it. 🙁

  21. :

I didn’t feel anything woody with this perfume, I don’t know why it’s classified like that.
for me this a softly sweet, and fruity scent that I enjoyed a lot. no one asked about it to me but I it made me happy on everyday I used.
different from all the other scents, sentiment has a very soft and uplifting opening with weak sillage and and moderate longevity.
up to now, I didn’t smell anything like this, may be Davidoff Relax, but I am not sure.
Why Davidoff discontinued it, I have no clue.
    Overall, I recommend !

Bought this 6 years ago in Dubai and soon after purchase, its nozzle developed problem and it wouldn’t spray properly. Got it rectified just a few days ago and was surprised to see that the smell and lasting power hasn’t changed one bit. Very strong and long lasting fragrance that I love wearing

Best blind buy ever. The 50 ml bottle was only $20 at TJ Max so I had to own it and it didn’t disappointed me. Smells really unisex for my standards, much like CK Be. It’s longevity is not a simple topic of discussion. I guess it really depends on the skin’s own acidity. Some people give it a 3 , others give it a 10! And as some people previously said – it’s a potent juice!

I was wandering through a pharmacy today and stumbled upon this fragrance selling for $5. Seeing a fragrance at that price and bearing a popular brand name, I had to try it.
I was hoping it would be something sweet, (like they usually are from Escada), so it would appeal to my boyfriend. Unfortunately it was quite sharp and fresh, quite the contrary to what he usually wears and enjoys. However, with that being said, Escada Sentiment for Men is far from unpleasant.
The sharpness is due to a slightly synthetic blend of juniper berries and citrusy lime juice with a dash of pepper. It’s also quite a heavy scent when applied liberally so I’d approach this scent with caution. It could work well during Spring and Fall, but I don’t think I’d wear Escada Sentiment for Men in Summer due to its cloying nature.
On that note, it lasts an incredibly long time. It’s also a surprisingly refreshing scent despite being a tad generic. It smells a little bit like pine scented detergent at times, yet most of the time I enjoy its masculine peppery-ness and rich lime accord. I find it very masculine.
I finally passed up the offer to buy this fragrance cheaply knowing full well I couldn’t wear it myself or pawn it off to my man who knows what he likes and doesn’t like change. But for most men, what a bargain!

this fragrance is like a love story, it starts off very light, like a simple hello, after a few minutes it starts to smell a bit intense, thats when the attrations kick in, later on it starts to be very alluring and a hint of seductiveness, just like when a person is in love, and at the end of the fragrance it settles down, and smells sexier, still has that freshness, and sensual, just like love unforgettable, emotional and fun… hence the name “sentiment”

Liked this on my man, its sweet…You can usually find this on a good buy at Marshalls. My man gets this Sentiment scent if he cannot find Escada Por Homme (which smells best on him actually between the two).

Very manly, but sensuous fragrance. It feels warm, musky and deep, yet quite fresh at the same time. To me it smells a bit like leather, a brand new leather jacket perhaps. One on my all time favourites, absolutely love it.

I don’t care much for this one much. The top is a bit synthetic and sweet, then it becomes spicy and woody dry. The overall appears a bit smokey or incensey too, I think. Not my favorite. For me, This doesn’t like a typical Escada scent which is sweet youthful and fun.

I purchased this for my husband, but more as a gift for myself. He simply has little to no sense of smell so he never wore fragrance before. I connect emotions and memories to scent so the first gift I got him when we were dating was a “signature cologne”. He liked all the searching and smelling (almost to pass out level!) to find him his perfect match. This fragrance is very stunning on him. Hes an artistic geek who is kind of into fashion but also into snowboarding. What I’m trying to say is I couldn’t go out and pick him up Polo Sport because it would’ve been too preppy, all-american, football guy on him, Chrome by Azzaro wouldve been too Harley Riding tough guy. I suggest this scent to men with a sensitive but sexy side. Someone not afraid to be different. And maybe someone whos finding it hard to find a less macho scent without being overtly feminine.

  37. :

    3 out of 5

I agree with some comments, at the beginning it is a lil feminine, but then, after some minute, it turns into a sweet, masculine, attractive scent. Another turn on is, that it is not worn by every single man, at least I didn´t find anybody who wears this. Excellent.

I love this fragrance, it oozes style to me and seems to last all day as well. I especially like the sweet / spicy top notes which dry down into a beautiful fruity / woody scent.. very sexy I’m told too!! I do get a lot of compliments when I wear this…
I bought this when I was living in a cooler climate therefore I now use it far more as a night time fragrance, and it seems to work equally well for formal or casual occasions..

another good fragrance from escada..i love the opening in this.a lil spicy and sweet at the same time.and also fresh. i love the dry down..it last quite long in my skin.about 6 to 7 hours..as it dries down..i can smell the hint of pimento, which is marvelous..its good for fall or winter, but i love to wear it as everyday casual..

It’s so fresh, clean and fruity smell!
But just an everyday scent! Nothing so special!
It’s still good and I like it anyway.

Fruity, light and airy. This is a nice daily to casual fragrance. Not Escada’s worst, but not their best (Magnetism).

I tried this one in a perfume store. It’s fairly good for my taste but nothing special that made it irresistable that i had to buy it right then & there.
It’s a very versatile scent IMO, can be used at night & day, hot or cold weather.
I’d like to purchase & use one sometime, it’s not at the top 3 on my list of next fragrances to purchase.

  46. :

Interesting that some think it smells cheap… Well, I never thought of it as cheap but I had some doubts about this one as well. I gave it some tries and now I like it because it’s both sweet and light. Perfect for relatively cold summer days.

Had this fragrance, Im pretty much in love with all Escada mens cologne, they all smell wonderful. This on is very sexy and more of a nightly spray. Although it doesn’t last very long but through out the night I can still smell it.

i smelled this in a magazine and at a dept store, i gotto say its a great scent but this is one of the MOST POTENT JUICES ON THE MARKET and it can quickly become cloying and offputting when over applied

Lovely fruity-spicy scent. Great for every season, just that it does not last long. It is tropical, yet super stylish, fresh, yet sensual. I love it. If only it lasted a little longer.

Yeap, indeed it has jackfruit (“jaca” in Portuguese) within its top notes. Unfortunately, the whole fragrance lasts about 2-3 on my skin. It’s very fruity and peppery, but I just wish it could last longer.

A sexy, appeling, fresh and attractive smell.

This is a bit feminine, but only at the begenning just after the spray… but after 10-15 min. it’s ok, a little bit frutys. It’s powerful as a fragrance, a bit spicy, sexy and fresh! Good for everyday 😉
