After going through several rose scents in hunt for the perfect one, I have definitely found it with Diptyque. I have previously owned Chloe & Rose of No Mans Land Byredo but both were just too strong for me. This scent is fresh, happy and very feminine. It really reminds me of Spring/Summer. It doesn’t wear as long on my skin as I would like it to, but the scent is worth it. It almost has a rooty scent to it, like that smell you get on your hands after gardening. It is very subtle and sweet but not overwhelmingly so- the perfect rose scent. I love this scent.

A very nice rose scent for maybe 20 minutes. Then it’s gone and all I’m left with is a light powdery woody scent. Needs to be longer lasting for the price.

Vivid and innocent rose, perfect for layering. The scent itself is so picture perfect. Exemplary, almost.
When applied, it’s dewy and juicy. Progresses to fruitiness, but nothing overbearing. Layers well atop of clean oakmoss scents like Charlie Blue (as weird as it sounds)

A pretty rose but nothing special. The perfect fragrance for a teacher – traditional and comforting.

Very pretty rose composition from Diptyque. Eau Rose opens with a burst of fresh and fruity rose (must be the litchi note), and then settles down to a soft and playful rose tempered by a bit of woods and musk. I was not initially interested in this fragrance, but the sales associate gave me a sample, and after testing it, I decided to buy the special edition Valentines Day roll-on. Longevity is good – lasts me through most of the work day – and there is nothing cloying or “old fashioned” about Eau Rose at all. Compared to Jo Malone Red Roses, this is like mother-daughter, with Red Roses being a traditional, formal and straightforward vase of roses, as opposed to Eau Rose’s fruitiness and bubbly nature. I do find it very similar to Annick Goutal’s Rose Pompon, but the AG is a tad woodsier with stronger sillage.

A pleasant scent, fresh rose. Notes of rose are not dominant ,just subtle there. A fresh notes comes from green leaves.
Good longevity. Musk shows itself later around 30 min from apllying the scent.

Just simply LOVELY! Charming, sweet, cheerful, youthful, refreshing…like an attractive young woman, this fragrance was caressing me for hours…Be patient!…You will be rewarded!

Someone on a different site wrote how this scent smelled only of “rose water and alcohol”. So I got this expecting something very light and feminine and was shocked at how masculine it actually is. It doesn’t smell like fresh roses or rosewater, it smells woody and musky while the rose is very muted.

Eau Rose is light and pretty, and it layers well with other Diptyque fragrances. I’m not much on layering in general, but topping off with Eau Rose makes many other scents so much better!

A white cotton shirt rose, light and sunny, with a nice touch of green, that makes it more modern. No old granny style risk. On my Spring 2018 wishlist.

    It’s lovely 🙂
I was looking for sweet, uncomplicated, fresh, wearable, young yet authentic rose. I have the Clinique Beyond Rose rose scent for when I want to go “darker”. So I wanted something similar to Rose Pompon by Annick Goutal, but not as sweet, so minus the raspberry note perhaps and plus fresh sophistication. The liche, bergamot and musk in good balance does it, I think.
I am comparing with Rose Of No Man`s Land by Byredo and The New Rose by Montale. I also tried the A La Rose by Maison Francis Kurkdjian. All are wonderul. But Byredo’s rose was a bit more serious than desired, the vibe was innocent, but too melancholic. The New Rose by Montale does not suit me and turns too musky on my wrist, despite the playful (and a bit “bubble-gummy”) opening. A La Rose by Maison Francis Kurkdjian is a beautiful, true, creamy and safe rose, but like I said, I craved something a tad sweeter.
So here we are 🙂 Eau Rose by Diptyque wins my heart for it’s authentic yet young spirit of a happy carefree rose. I cannot wait to use it on a hot summer evening when dining out with my love. I’ll let you know how it goes 😉
Update: After enjoying it for a while and especially when using it with the Eau Rose body lotion, the dry down reminds me of Calvin Klein Eternity Moment from 2004.

I love rose frags and this one will take you away to the rose garden. I am not sure how long it lasts but too bad this doesn’t come in parfum strength. It lasted a few hours on the card but not as many as Oud Palao or L’Ombre.
Sometime soon I will wear this alone to see how many hours of enjoyment I can achieve. I have tried this only from a sample sprayer and in store. This could be really great for the right man with the appropriate attire…
*** For the most amazing scent, layer this with Oud Palao. They are both amazing scents on their own but together, wooow they smell nice… 2xEau Rose plue 1xOud Palao.. mmm mmmmm

I have not experienced true rose like the rose in this since sniffing my father’s prize roses long ago!
    Very light and pleasant!

This is a gorgeous rose fragrance. Light, sweet, and complex with hints of citrus and honey hidden inside. It smells clean and pleasant.
    Office-safe.

This is a very pleasant rose fragrance. I haven’t done any comparisons; I know that there are oodles of rose fragrances. But, to me, this one is very wearable. I sometimes find rose fragrances too much. Eau Rose Diptyque goes on a bit strong, later evens out and just reminds me of a pretty warm day in a garden.
To me, it’s just roses, I know the more studied folks on this site pick up other ‘tunes’, but for me, its nice for when I want to remember the summer. Bending down to inhale the fragrance of one of dozens of petal globes on a thorny rose bush, watching out for the bees, and being rewarded by an eye-rolling delight just before a breeze interrupts. makes me smile …..

This is a gorgeous rose fragrance, ideal for springtime. I was debating with myself whether I should buy this one, or MFK A La Rose; but in the end, I opted for Diptyque Eau Rose because it is more affordable than MFK, and the scents are not all that different. Kurkdjian’s rose is a bit more intense, while Diptyque’s Eau Rose opens with fresh fruity notes, and then grows into a lush red rose in full bloom. I bought the elegant 20ml roll-on, rather than a spray, because several reviewers below have posted warnings that this fragrance has been known to turn rather quickly. I reckon I’ll use up the 20ml bottle by the end of this year.

Opens with a fresh, juicy, sweet, fruity, rose. Rose stays constant throughout the composition but it presents itself in different ways. In the beginning, and up to the end of the first hour, there is a fantastic juicy litchi that nearly makes my mouth water. Sadly, that ends too soon. Its replaced with a clean rose. The base notes develop very quickly, an hour and a half into story. The rose becomes woodier, and a bit of musk and honey develops. At this point it seems more old fashioned and seems a little powdery. Overall, this is nice, but I wish the top and middle notes could be prolonged.

  18. :

    4 out of 5

Eau Rose is delicate, lovely, and classic, but it takes hours to get to that desired point. Right after application, it was on the sharp and bitter side because of the black currant and geranium.
Six hours later the dry down on my skin is of sheer rose, sparkling lychee, musk, and a drop of honey.
I wasn’t overly wow’d since it reminds me of L’Occitane 4 Reins yet not as vivid.
I really felt impatient with this one, but it was worth the wait.

  19. :

    3 out of 5

This used to be my “signature” scent; it had the powdery rose softness that I search for in a rose. Yes, it isn’t long-lasting, but it is nice while it lasts. Sadly, I began to develop a headache from it, and my bottle went stale. If you purchase a bottle, plan on wearing it daily, as the fragrance goes bad by the end of the year. I would be careful buying online from 2nd party sellers because what you smell in the new store bottle may be different than what you get. It loses its sweetness and becomes more woody and sour. I have a bottle with 90% left which will now go in the garbage. Luckily, there are roses such as A La Rose from Madison Francis Kurkdjian. It is more lasting, and more of a parfum than this cologne-style rose, lasting longer on the body and in the bottle.

What an absolutely stunning rose scent this is. Previous reviewers have perfectly described its qualities. I found it a bit overpowering at first spray but as it is settling in I am getting crazy about it!

Enjoyed having this perfume in my collection. Wasn’t crazy about it; though found it nice to have for summer. Definitely would recommend it. It is light, fresh, soft and sensual. Definitely you could use it for every occassion and it is also appropriate for office. I would call it a balanced scent and to me personally it portrays innocense and happiness especially during humid and hot summers. Unfortunately it is not long-lasting at all.

Mmm a rose in all it’s states with the addition of strawberry and lychee. It’s fresh and sweet and easygoing. It’s not a grandmother rose. It’s young and sparkly. Perfect for a young woman’s first fragrance or perfect day scent for any age. Amazing price for its quality.

Very classic, female perfume that will be appropriate for every life situations: business meeting, dinner with friends or evening date. It’s light and comfortable, and I wood notice it will live longer if sprayed on clothes not on skin.

Did not impress me at all smelling from bottle
in the store, but SA gave me a sample. Then
I fell in love with the quirky Valentine’s theme
that this encapsulates. Read reviews which
convinced me to spray. Now blossomed on
my plus points I’m way head over heels over
this! Must get before Spring!!! The only rose
I’m able to wear, it seems. Chirpy!! …Peace…

Yes, this is my new secret. I carry it in an atomitizer so that NO one will know what it is. Within days after having purchased and wearing, I have already received a dozen beautiful “Red Roses” from my husband, simply amazing! I don’t know which is more expensive, Eau Rose or all of the Roses that I might be receiving, lol?
This fragrance is light enough to wear around all ages, including children. The others around me are commenting what a beautiful, nice person they think that I am.
I do think that Eau Rose by Diptyque is a bit pricey for an Eau de Toilette as others have posted here and therefore am not sure that will be repurchasing, but it is a fun and interesting fragrance to wear.
Yes, this is a posh country club setting or special event fragrance such as a Wedding or even the Kentucky Derby. This is not your grandmother’s Red Rose scent, and does remind of L’Occitane’s rose scents as well….Certainly a Spring and Summer scent but am considering layering with a vanilla based lotion to cozy up for autumn/winter too. Hmmmmmm!

i bought this fragrance after reading so many rave reviews about it, but was really disappointed. I smell more litchi than rose, and there is a really strong musky scent which gave me a headache and made me feel nauseous. I have to blow a fan on my face for a while and open all the windows in my room for my headache to go away….lots of people say it smell like real roses, thats why i bought it, but IMO the Jo malone red roses smells way more than real rose than this one. this one just smell like cheap musky perfume spray you can get for $9.99. Returned it

Winter update: this scent is quite different in this cold air, it’s more like a much softer version of the original Chloe. Slightly musky, toasty but no rose. It’s just very soft, quite warm and pleasant.

  34. :

    5 out of 5

Average rose scent, much like many soaps, shampoos etc of decent quality. It has a nice green bed to it, but it unfortunately doesn’t last very long. Well, it is an “Eau” after all. It’s pleasant, undemanding, and unremarkable. It’s hardly La Fille de Berlin – there is very little base to complement the rose, and the actual rose itself is not very realistic, I think they could have done better. It’s reasonable quality and inoffensive, but I imagine this more as a room spray or pillow spray in a well-appointed B & B, than a serious fragrance.

  35. :

Another Diptyque that fails to impress. What I get here is a pink rose soap with greenish fruit. Smells a lot like shampoo or even hairspray. I love going to the rose gardens on weekends, and I sniff hundreds of roses. This does not smell like any natural rose I have ever smelled. For a beautiful, more natural rose, I much prefer the drydown of Ombre Dans l’Eau.

  36. :

A true, ethereal rose, not sweet but heavenly. I detect not cassis but cassis leaves in this, a very nice combination with the main ingredient. Natural smelling, nothing synthetic. Long lasting enough to take me through the day. The noblest rose on the market (and I have tried most). Bravo Dyptique.

I own en passant, sur le nil, and purchased kilian water calligraphy and annick goutal le cheverfulle(dont remember spelling) and several byredo.
This is so far the best. Sur le nil is next. En passant is being trashed after using less than 1/10. Water calligraphy also returned after sample making me nauseous. Annick goutal did not last long (30minutes). I loved annick goutal BUT after trying eau rose, annick goutal doesn’t follow anywhere close to this. Even more expensive byredo inflorescence, rose noir, palermo, bal’dafriq, la tulip smells like fake perfume after smelling eau rose.
    Definitely great perfume!!

Oh my gosh, love this love this love this and love this!!!
This $98 perfume smells so much better than Jo malone rose, or penhaligon’s elizabethan rose. Jo malone smells like room spray(cheap), and penhaligon’s smell too sweet and not as ethereal. Lipstick rose, une rose, and portrait of a lady from Frederic Malle smells more complicated and heavy. I love fleur de bulgari from creed but still rich scent.
Eau rose is so delicate, and ethereal. Soft floral scents, usually made from chemical compounds- aldehydes- and I can smell the chemical stuff in creed, penhaligon’s , and byredo. So far, not in this one.
I’m so sad Korean department store is charging $170 for this…but I tried on myself three times and I love this so much that I’m purchasing this

I’ve been looking for a soft, realistic, pink rose fragrance for a long time. I really tried to love Eau Rose and even bought a bottle of it. Eau Rose definitely evokes the image of a pink rose blossom—no stems, leaves, or thorns. On the blotter, the scent seemed almost dewy, but no dew drops became present on my skin.
There is some fruitiness to it; I think it is the lichi, which also makes it slightly sweet. In the end, I flirted with Eau Rose on and off, but decided I could not wear it. I think I didn’t like the litchi, which has become too common in many of the newer rose scents. After the gorgeous opening, defined by soft pink petals, Eau Rose developed into a more generic flowery scent.
It might be a perfect scent for rose lovers who don’t mind some fruity sweetness. Personally, I wanted something a bit fresher, something much more like the aroma of the actual rose water I use.

I browsed Diptyque yesterday at my local Mecca Cosmetica and came upon this one. I hadn’t noticed it before, and as I’m a bit of a rose fan I couldn’t resist. It’s lovely, noticeable, pretty, romantic. It does remind me of a somewhat paler Stella, and I only say this because I find Stella to be very dark and to that degree, heavy. Especially for a rose, which usually in fragrance, has some dimension.
I think the fact it’s a natural perfume is also a big selling point for me, in that it’s going to work better with the skin and its oil, and develop in an organic way. I’ve worn Stella, as a comparison point once again, in both cold and warm weather, and unless freshly sprayed, remains close and “drapes” the wearer.
I think a good perfume, ideally, a consummate rose, will lend an aura and an easy trail. It should linger without coddling. I find a lot of fragrances to be rather rich and all-consuming these days, and then gradually peel away to leave but a faint edge.
I think this is a great perfume for someone who wants a contemporary classic – something feminine (which a rose is, absolutely!) and nostalgic, without it being a “grandma” rose. Also, I like a perfume that I can have as a signature, one which is versatile for many settings and moods. This has enough character to be interesting and easy to translate between day and night, as well as fruity enough to not become a midnight rose, and suffocate or overbear.
I’m happy to have found this one.
Edit: I have to add – the lasting power of this baby is awesome! It lasts and lasts. It does mellow a little, but it’s still present, and has kick. And it mellows in the way I imagined it too – to meld with the skin. It really is such a pretty fragrance, and I’m quite in love with it.

Not the typical sweet floral rose scent you’d expect. In fact, Eau Rose isn’t something you’d expect from Diptyque. The scent has a strong fruity lychee scent that penetrates, pleasant yet sophisticated. Rose bouquets are fresh and distinct, extremely easy to distinguish when someone walks by with this fragrance. Though I’m not a user of this particular scent, a girlfriend of mine who is 26 and my own mother are keen worshipers of this fragrance, so I applaud Diptyque for creating a scent which women at any age can appreciate. Whenever I smell Eau Rose, I miss my mom a little bit… strong yet delicate, beautiful and determined 😉

I was hoping so much of this perfume …. I love roses! But honestly in EAU ROSE I smell much more herbs than rose. It’s very green with no sweetness at all. The rose is hidden among black currant, bergamot and vetiver. The lightness and freshness of it are not of type I was looking for …

I’ts nice! Let’s start off with that ;). The rose note is the most apparent one from the beginning till now (wearing it for a couple of hours). (But that should be a good thing, considering the name!) I do must say rose isn’t really my thing. I’ve tried a couple of rose scents and I like the smell of it, but they just don’t really fit me. Thought they maybe would, because Miss Dior (new) is my signature, and this fragrance also contains some rose notes.
Overall: nice fragrance, not overpowering, bit powdery, but not too much (I can’t bear TOO powdery scents like Chloe or Iris Rose from E. Coudray). So if you’re into rose, this is a very nice one!!!

    EAU ROSE by Diptyque
Breathtakingly beautiful Rose. Opens with a rush of bittersweet bergamot and juicy tart vine-ripe black currants followed immediately with a saturating flood of soft, tropical, delicately sweet litchi fruit. A pristinely fresh and glorious rose makes her entrance amongst the sparkling lemony threads of dewy-green geranium, which provides a zesty citric strength and additional support to the principal rose scent itself.
A subdued non-indolic jasmine woven throughout provides an extra touch of sweetly refined floral complexity without intruding on the precedence of the roses. A warm, clean cedar houses the entire creation beautifully, while a cozy white musk adds a delicate hint of tender sensuality. A fascinatingly delectable drop of honey infuses just a trace of voluptuously natural silken sweetness with complexity and depth.
The Rose here is poised gracefully between the refreshing cool vivid clarity of the Black Currant/Geranium, and the sumptuously smooth warm sweetness of the Litchi/Jasmine. The perfect balance achieved here between the pull of these four exceptionally contrasting elements, both of which are supportive of the Rose, yet diametrically opposed to each other, is what makes this composition a unique masterpiece. It is both simple and extremely refined. The myriad of subtle, elegant nuances woven within and throughout the strands of this scent tapestry succeed brilliantly.
This is exquisitely beautiful. Perhaps the most beautiful rose I have ever smelled on my skin. Sublime beauty personified in scent. I love this one completely and utterly.

this is by far the greatest rose scent i’ve ever smelled. it’s a sharp rose at the beginning, but settles down beautifully. it becomes warm, quiet and sophisticated. i was trying to find a perfect rose scent for a while, and this one is definitely the most gorgeous one.

My valentines self-gift arrived this morning lol! My thoughts as follows: Feminine and pretty packaging…..Open it up to reveal a simple bottle inside….,fluid has a slight yellow tinge….Take off the cap for a quick ‘no spray’ sniff…..Hippocampal activation – Chloe by Chloe’s powdery clean laundryness goin on here…..Initial spray: fresh, rosey and understated – way more interesting than Chloe…..Time lapse….. resisting the urge to re-spray, as the dry down as left me with sweet musk which i love so much. Lasts just as long as many edp’s i own. Very pretty! Very nice!
