Description

The house of provocative and sexy lingerie Agent Provocateur launches three new day time perfumes, based on the concepts of its most celebrated and iconic fragrant editions: Agent Provocateur (2000) Maitresse (2006) and L’Agent (2011). New fragrances, Eau Provocateur, Maitresse Eau Provocateur and L’Agent Eau Provocateur, are lighter, fresher and more carefree versions of the originals, adapted for daylight seduction.

Agent Provocateur Eau Provocateur contains lively citrus accords and red fruits in the opening, fresh and vivid notes of orange blossom and lily of the valley that uplift its core, and warm and sensual nuances of myrrh, vanilla and tonka bean in the dry down.

The fragrances are available from April 2012 in 50 ml Eau de Toilette concentration.

this is one of the most underrated affordable perfumes out there. A lovely musk fragrance, smells clean and fresh, longevity is crazy, 48 h +

I gave this another shot, now that it’s summery/warm.
Much better! Ohhhhh… if you can stand wearing balsamic/myhrr in the heat/summer– this works!! It did still start out funky, but the drydown is potent and wonderful!
It’s like Lite L’Agent for the summer!
YASS!!! 5-6 hours after application on my sweater– a divine powdery sweet vanilla with still a hint of smoky mhyrr. I can’t believe I went on to love this! It needs warmer weather! And the opening is still kinda icky/weird.

mschnabel1666: I was reading the reviews here to see whether I should blind buy a tester bottle of this and your review made me laugh so much! I can’t actually decide from it whether I should get a bottle of it but you certainly made this perfume sound interesting and like one I SHOULD maybe try!
P.S. I hope your door knob was fixed well so that you didn’t get trapped in your office wearing this perfume if you decided once and for all you definitely didn’t like it!!

An Agent Prov scent that is balsamic and sweet? Yes please! (Blind buy 50ml, I like the original EDP and love L’Agent)
WTFRESH HELL is this? It’s sharp, nail polish remover-like… like a floor cleaner or disinfectant. It’s so sharp and peppery and weird… and something is gut-turning/gag worthy– sour and medicinal? Ugh-gag.
But then… the drydown is nicer. Light and fresh, but tolerable. Musky like all APs.
But let me tell ya… there is no fruit or orange blossom to be found. I have no clue how this comes across as so strange and icky.
It does wear better, and the drydown is smoother dry musk with a hint of myrrh. But def no vanilla or tonka.
My co-worker told me I smelled good tho! Haha!
This was a winter wear, but I’m not sure if weather is the prob here. I imagine this would get worse in heat? I haven’t written this off yet, it does get better– but not better enough to give it a like.
Wait a second… what was that smell? I got a whiff of sweet zingy red berries…. See, right now… it’s about 15 degrees F outside…. and the front door to my office is wide open (fixing the doorknob) and a wind gust came at me… and woooooo…. that was a nice smell.
It’s like the review down below… you get this moment of sweet or fruit– and then bam… it’s back to being sharp, peppery, and kinda medicinal. The Pepper is giving me Belle D’Opium vibes.
This is actually kinda fun to wear… life is like Eau Provocateur…. you never know what you’re gonna get. 😉

It reminds me of the smell of Brasso metalpolish. Not unpleasant, but a bit weird….
Edit: and even weirder: longevity is enormous; 36 hours after application I can stil smell it (and yes, I do shower). What a nice surprise 🙂

I have had this a while pondering whether I like it or not, well, certainly not enough to allow it stealing the show from my other beloved fragrances. Eau Provocateur is totally different from the similarly named Agent Provocateur (original) EDP. Do not for one second think that this is a light version of that. Eau Provocateur is a soapy, sharpish, zingy fragrance, every now and then touching on a sweet note but as soon as you try to pin it down it goes back to soapy and medicinal. Not a dislike for me, but not a meh either, as it’s got too much of its own head for being a meh. If you have it and want to play around, try layering with something like a celebrity fragrance that needs un-sweetening. For me, layering with Britney Spears Radiance was probably the best way of appreciating this fragrance. What that really means though is that it was the right decision to sell it so someone else can proudly wear it on its own!

It is the first Provocateur that I am trying. While my luggage is lost by Air France, I am left with two samples that I threw in my Ziploc just in case, Ju Malone Blueberry and Bell (?), and this.
I am impressed. While I don’t have other Provocateurs to compare it to, this one lasts and has a very interesting development on me.
At the first sprays it is very similar to Paloma Picasso but about 30 minutes later it becomes smoky musk and lasts for hours.
I will probably go for a full bottle if I have a chance.

Inspiring as well as nostalgic perfume..
All reviewers who have stated this bears minimal resemblance to the original, are soooo right. This is a self sufficient fragrance, that brings back memories of the 80s. It has a strong masculine backbone, impressive woods and citruses – a tom-boyish femme fatale!
It brings to mind Woman III by Jil Sander, Ve by Versace and something else that i cannot remember right now…
It is awesome – bold, rebellious and daredevlish!

This smells a little like the original but is still a poor copy in my opinion. Like the other ‘eau’ in the range, it has no guts.
Nothing beats the original AP and L’Agent. Pure class.

When I sprayed this on some paper to test it out, it was wonderful, very fresh and reminiscent of a spring afternoon. Unfortunately on me it smells very sharp and peppery, and I ended up trying to wash it off. I agree with a previous review that on the right person this could be great, but if you have the wrong chemistry it’s almost like peppery rubbing alcohol with a little bit of floral thrown in as a consolatory gesture. Try a sample though, if it works for you, you won’t be disappointed!
Update: I accidentally put this on instead of Maitresse L’eau, and it’s more tolerable the second time around. I realized the sharp note is the myrrh, and it still seems out of place in this composition as it overpowers the rest of the notes and pushes them to the background, but only on my skin. On clothes it’s a lot more balanced and wearable. My chemistry just really brings out the myrrh. It’s growing on me, but I don’t think I’ll buy a large bottle.

As my review below indicates, my body chemistry is not compatible with Eau Provocateur; an honest opinion shared, based on personal scrutiny at that time on my skin, suggests an inferior product. This is not true. I feel compelled to share my observation of this scent on the friend I gave my bottle to.
WOWZA! Is she really wearing EP? I did not believe her at first!
Body chemistry is EVERYTHING as we all know. Eau Provocateur is born on Jade, or rather, Jade was born to wear EP. Whichever way we look at it I can say with heartfelt conviction that the aroma I inhaled as I embraced my friend with a warm greeting hug yesterday stopped me in my tracks.
Magnetism incarnate. This gorgeous girl embodied womanly allure; flowers, carnal musk and something mysterious and slightly out of reach: myrrh and tonka bean slow dancing on their private dancefloor.
Eau Provocateur is a charismatic marvel on the right person.

It must be the myrrh note I have difficulty with in this formulation; it wears like white pepper on my skin.
This “Eau” version of AP presents as a clean white musk fragrance, a delicate freshly-laundered aroma with scary smokey white pepper enhancements.
Not my kind of scent statement really, far too sanitary and precise. And there is that bothersome myrrh/refined pepper feel to the composition which is frankly, odd.
Myrrh can be stunning when done well.

“Eau Provocateur”, I am L’Agent Provocateur”, where do I begin, this fragrance being the first of AP perfumes I now own. I couldn’t hold in my excitement to the cashier, who was also unaware of this fragrance, quickly became excited and in wanting from all my AP stories. At first reach I went for AP signature, out from the corner of my eye, I saw this small, pink bottle, I was attracted to the clearness of the bottle, at first test spray, instantly I could smell the smokiness and woodiness, that being the obvious tonka bean and myrrh coming through, along with very evident white florals, almost rosy middle notes. Surprisingly I could smell a strong muskier undertone, only later to find that Musk is not noted in this fragrance at all. In comparison with “Eau Emotinelle” which actually contains a base note of musk, I find EP to be more of a muskier scent. I love the choices of notes in this fragrance, not until a period of time wearing the perfume that I noticed the more citrusy, “red” tones coming through, it takes a while for my nose to find them, but they are definitely evident at different times, providing constant showcasing of the entire fragrance ingredients.
I had been reading reviews about what other uses thought about this perfume, it being not the most popular of AP scents, I was surprised to see that a lot of users were noting that EP was a very balmy, day time scent, I can see this being a day time scent, a little strong for the hours of sun, possibly just on my skin, but for me more a night time scent, as night time is a darker, sensual time, words in which I feel describe this fragrance. EP I would also describe as being a strong, creamy scent, it lathers over my skin like a moisturiser, I can smell a hint of that same soapiness as EE, but it’s more of a sweetly powder, not overpowering. Eau Provocateur is a long lasting, sexual scent, I think of this as being an unfamiliar, unique sent, a perfume in which would be seekingly unrecognisable to most people, unless you’re a true AP woman.

i got 3 samples yesterday of all three of the new eau de toilette scents. at first i only wanted to the l’agent which i liked at the store. i didnt have time to try the other two right there and than so i tried this perfume at home. at first i wasnt sure what to make of it. i have been smelling a lot of perfumes recently and this is just so different. it reminded me of the original heavy syrupy coca-cola, probably because of the spices. it is balmy, kind of like one of those theraputic balms you put on your temples, but not as strong and has a softer sweeter undertone. i havent smelled myrrh on its own before so i dont know if this scent is dominated by it, but it is definitely spicy. this is quickly becoming my favorite scent right now. definitely one of the sexiest perfumes to my nose. this eau de toilette might have been made for daytime, but i find it better for night as it really brings out the sexiness and the wilder side of the wearer.
