Poorly smelling synthetic ingredients. I own pure guaiac wood and I do not smell it in this perfume at all. Neither is the fragrance ‘dark’ like the name suggests. Very designer/generic vibe instead of niche/dark/bold I was expecting or hoping for. I can’t review the longevity or sillage because I don’t want this scent on my skin. Only positive for me is the minimalistic bottle design.

There’s nothing weak about this one, it’s a normal strength EDT with a beautiful smell somewhere between Vera Wang for men and D&G the one

It has nothing to do with either DARK or WOOD.
Nothing ground breaking, just an ordinary perfume.
Performance is a typical Oriflame performance, which is frusturating. Nice looking bottle though, but cheap quality.
And YES, it smells like D&G The One.

I spent hundred of dollars buying The One EDT, and EDP, and The One Collection version. I gave up with all cuz nothing have better quality of longetivity and projection than this. You should just buy this with descent projection and longetivity (bout 4 hours min) project well in first 2 hours. The Price is only around 14$. Why should you care bout the other “the One” ?
Dolce & Gabbana lately made worse quality fragrance than in the past.
D&G pour homme going down with 1/4 projection and longetivity. The One EDP with only EDT quality.. what’s a shame !

Very similar to D&G The One.
Although the note listed for the fragrance is Guaiac wood only, the scent is quite a bit more complex than that and Guaiac, if present, is very subdued.
Performance is perfectly ok for an inexpensive scent.
Projection and sillage is rather strong in the first hour and settles in as a subtle skin scent after that. The average longevity on me is about 4h.
Compared to D&G The One, it’s a bit more aggressive in terms of projection but doesn’t last quite as long.
It’s also more linear and lacking some of the depth and complexity of The One, especially in the dry down, where it becomes a bit more generic.
That being said, it is a very nice scent, easy to like and rather sexy. It exudes an air of class and sophistication, which makes it more suitable for a dressed up night out/date situation.
Given the low price, it’s definitely worth a try.

It has a good looking bottle and the scent is good too. I just buy it because of the bottle looks very classy. I use it everyday and realize that it is better than I think. My family love it, my friend love it and now it’s my signature.

It is a niche looking one, but I do not see it as a fragrance. I use it as a body mist. Use it after shower and the result is perfect!!

This is my second Oriflame perfume after Espionage.
I didn’t get the chance to test Dark Wood so it was a blind buy for me.I got it for 14$ so I can only enjoy my new fragrance.
The bottle with the cap on it indeed looks very classy and if you don’t know the brand, you may think it’s something very expensive. It looks like some luxury scent, but for that price range, you can get only niche-looking.
About the scent – I have to say it’s very pleasant, sophisticated and elegant. To my nose, that scent is a little bit strange, because Dark Wood doesn’t have the typical fresh start – no bergamot or other citrus notes – it shows itself without sharp top notes – one spray and a moment later you are straight into the heart of the scent.
Right from the start it gives me wonderful smooth and soft semisweet woody feeling. The other interesting thing is the drydown – most fragrances are getting sweeter after hours, but Dark Wood is not that type. After first 30 minutes, the semisweet notes are slowly fading out and the woody notes become dominant. I suggest the composition is not too complicated, because all in all the scent is linear without any dramatic twists.
I definitely smell prominent woody notes, with some musk at the base.
About Longevity/Sillage – Longevity on my skin is 4-5 hours.
Sillage – in the first hour sillage is very good, in the second hour it is softer and calm. In the last 2-3 hours/of the scent life/ the silllage is getting weaker and it’s becoming a skin scent.
I didn’t expect a sillage monster or fantastic longetivity, so I’m not disappointed with Dark Woods. I think it is very elegant, smooth and subtle woody perfume. It‘s not a club scent or something that can turn heads, but I’m sure many will enjoy the refined character of Dark Wood.
I think the key moment is not to expect niche quality from a niche-looking scent.
Then you may even like it.

i bought blindly .but in vain .where is the aformentioned guaiac wood in it ?
i couldnt smell the hint of it !
i use layering on dali pour homme and the result is a bit better .
so its not niche- far from it – its not woody its not dark its the usual run of the mill oriflame 🙁

Shockingly good fragrance for Oriflame, seriously well balanced and well made! Of course it has not niche quality, but it is very good mass market fragrance which can be without any doubts compared to any other mens fragrances sold in parfumeries which cost much more than this fragrance

I test it today…not a bad scent, in general – nothing special, nothing niche. In the beginning were well known touch of barbershop as in Dolce & Gabbana homme and Moschino fragrances…. no guaiacwood, no violete, no roses in this for me. Typical mass-market creation with a short shelf life – up to 30 minutes in cool weather.
