Christina Aguilera by Night is a new fragrance by the popular singer and it especially attracts women who want to seduce with a fragrant composition. She is glamorous, irresistible, sensual and self-confident. The perfume can be expected on the market by October 2009.
Christina Aguilera by Night is a fragrant story which adds up to Christina Aguilera edition from 2007, decorated with lace on a flacon shaped like female body. Red is Aguilera’s favourite colour, and combination of red nuances and black lace is certainly the best choice for the upcoming season.
Colour of passion and fire is announcing a composition created of seductive oriental-floral aromas. The scent starts with playful accords of mandarin, freesia and red apple. Besides fruity-floral notes, almonds are there to create a sensual and creamy effect. A heart is composed of vanilla blossom, which enhances feminine and gentle notes of the composition, as well as seductive powers of women. A base incorporates amber and vanilla, which make a very powerful and sexy finish.
Advertising campaign was led by Ellen von Unweith, and face of the fragrance is Christina herself, of course. The fragrance is available as 15, 30 and 50 ml EDP, accompanied with 200 ml perfumed body lotion, 200 ml shower gel and 150 ml deodorant.

The more i use my bottle of this, the more i think it smells different to when i first owned it.. back around 2009 i think. Maybe reformulated by EA?
Its fruitier and sharper, with less creamy almond. Its not terrible but its definately not as good as it once was. Strangely, the longevity is heaps better though..

My first Christina Aguilera perfume was the Night. Bought home, in Serbia. Immediately fell a love with it. It was a small bottle and I was trying to save it. That was I wearing when my fiancé visited me. After that,it became more valuable for me. Nowadays,a few years after all that, I got married to my US fiancé,and couldn’t believe that I can smell Chanel,Dior,all the historic and famous perfumes in Macy’s . Started my own collection. On the site,where I usually buy the scents,saw my all time favorite: Night! Ordered and started to wait. Right there that should be a warning sign. 3 week delivery ?Got my perfume,definitely a fake one. Without opening,the box was different. The scent what was in the bottle was different from what I had. It was much stronger,almost to the point when you want to wash it off. Reminded me of the heavy,oriental sweet scent. That mixture later on,became so annoying that I really washed my hands. Figured out! It came from Israel,so it was probably changed for the orientistic taste of the perfume lovers. Still have a few drops in my old one and can’t even compare with the one from Middle East. Don’t mind for the heavy fragrances but that was too much even for me. Adore the old one,on my next trip home, definitely will try to find it again. Oo,and the new Night will remain to be a part of the collection.

I bought By Night for a very fair price I don’t remember, at Mueller in Germany. I could only find it in 30ml. We have C.A. fragrances widely available in Denmark, except By Night.
It’s a good thing that I like the fragrance because I bought it hoping it would be a dupe for HB Deep Red but I don’t find them comparable at all. By Night doesn’t have the same depth or darkness for lack of better words, as HB Deep Red. Maybe my memory is playing tricks on me, but By Night might be the ghost of Hypnotic Poison, so I’m very pleased with that, at this price.
On me, By Night is a warm, cool weather, lightly sweet, day fragrance. It’s not deep, there’s something upbeat in there. By Night is very safe and wearable.
Since By Night was so hard to track down, I won’t wear it on week days, mostly weekends and visiting family. My experience with saving cheaper fragrances for too long (over a year-2 years) isn’t very good, they change. Otherwise I would reserve By Night exclusively for small dinner parties with closest family.

I bought Christina By Night in Germany because I can neither find By Night nor Boss Red in Denmark anymore and I’m on my last day here and don’t have that much money left, so I bought By Night. I haven’t owned Boss Red in a couple of years. Maybe the tester has weakened or By Night is just a lighter version, and I’m happy with that.
As much as I love Red, wearing By Night might make me more tolerable to be around in other’s opinion and I can wear it for more months of the year. I also like Hypnotic Poison, but By Night is wearable as a day fragrance, casually and even in Spring and on some Summer days.
This is the first Aguilera fragrance I own and the only one that wasn’t too weak right from the spritz. The others were pleasant enough but even lighter.

It smells really nice! I get sandalwood and vanilla the most! But I went through my bottle very fast as I had to reapply every hour to keep the scent going! There is no point in repurchasing something that has no longevity even if the fragrance itself is nice. A lot of Christina’s perfumes are like that, except for the first two that she’s launched. And that is quite a shame.

I was wearing this few years ago during spring and summer nights for partying 🙂 remembered it as a sweet sexy dark floral…but now all I smell is the taste of black liquorice and liquorice all sorts candy…and pepermint *.* lol my perception of sexy smell has definitely changed and I suppose it projects different in colder weather so I will keep it for warmer seasons. It is long lasting with heavy sillage.

This is basically 20% Hypnotic Poison and 80% water.
The sillage and longevity are extremely poor. It’s a shame, because the scent itself is quite nice. I get mostly vanilla, with amber, sandalwood and some fruity notes.

I really love this! “By Night” isn’t an exact dupe for HP, but it’s maybe a sweeter version of it. It’s so “vanilla” and alluring. Can’t stop smelling my wrists when I wear it. Definitely lasts longer on clothes, so I guess it’s downside is it’s poor longevity. A hidden gem for sure though. I had to stockpile this one because I think it’s sadly been discontinued.

Good option if you basically ignore celebrity perfumes for being juvenile. By Night smells fruity of apples and oranges but it doesn’t have sugar. Imagine drinking Christmas wine with fruits, cinnamon, clover, vanilla bean and sitting next to the fire place. That’s how it is. Fruity, but dark. Fruity and spicy. Fruity but smokey. There could be associations with Hypnotic Poison, but for me it gravitates towards vintage Addict or Armani Code EDP.

Smells really different from all those celebrity fragrances out there. This one is mysterious, warm and inviting, yet sexy. Sweet and musky, has really good lasting power.

This fragrance evokes visions of a beautiful pinup model in the 1950’s getting ready for the night in her small New York loft. She doesn’t wear the typical heavy musk perfume you smell on every other woman at that time. No she goes for a lighter, sensual, powdery slightly fruity vanilla. By night has such a beautiful classic vibe that pairs perfect with a glamorous velvet or silk dress. This was my go to fragrance a few years back. I only have a small amount of this beautiful juice left and I savor every last bit of it. This perfume is now for special occasions only.

Hypnotic Poison? What? No. Would never have crossed my mind. This is a nice, vanillic red apple soda with a bit of pineapple and mandarin orange on a base of sandalwood and bright amber. I found a 15 ml bottle of this in a heavily battered box for a steal at my local drug store, I’m glad I picked it up. It’s sweet, warm and sensual, pleasant all around. Fitting for a silky nightgown.

The first 5 seconds of this are exactly Hypnotic Poison, which is why I bought it. But then instantly it turns to a sour rhubarb and after that just a very faded and light vanilla. It is definitely unique smelling and nice but not what I expected. The lasting power is terrible too I get 20 minutes tops. I will still use it but not a favorite.

I have bought it in the middle of the northern deep winter when it was squeaky squeaky cold. My purpose was spicy perfume appropriate for such weather. Christina’s perfume was right!
In my impression it smells like spiced Christmas wine with clover, vanilla, cinnamon and pieces of dried apples and lemons on top. By Night is everything but not sweet. It’s truly fruity but oriental with dark smoke in the base.
It wasn’t everybody’s favorite and indoors it recalled associations with “burnt sugar” but it’s not the first time when my perfumes are judged lol I don’t care. The most important I had happy winter time wearing it with my fur coat.
There might be disappointment when you test it in other season or any warm place. Then By Night smells like ordinary girlish perfume. The impressive diva scent comes out just in really cold conditions.

Of course everybody’s noses and body chemistry work and is different. So I can only share what I (and possibly the people around me) get. This could easily be CD Hypnotic Poison Eau Legere, because to me it is definitely a member of that bunch. The opening is rather fruity but the very distinct Hypnotic note (almondish, musky vanilla) already there. The scent deepens from that point on and gets muskier with the Freesia and Heliotrope adding flowery sweetness. By Night fades out to a musky vanilla with a hint of oak moss. It lacks the caraway and of course the full body of the “real” thing but for some that might be a good thing! By Night is a very nice and well made fragrance. Vanilla lovers should def try it, and if you cannot commit to HP or are afraid that it might be too strong in certain places – also give this a try. Hopefully EA did not tweak this one too much!

Did this get reformulated since it was bought by EA? Mine smells nothing like the notes listed here. I’ve had mine since it first came out and then a second bottle after that. I get a bunch of blackberries and pink marshmallow. It also has great longevity. I figured they would all get a reboot after being bought out but based on the recent reviews it seems like it was for the worse for this one.

This scent is hard to describe because it smells to me of so many memories. It smells very sensual but I remember I wore it during the daytime as well because it was my scent all day round and it usually lasted very long on my skin.

ADORE THIS SCENT! It is sexy, different and delightful. On the bottom notes it fades to a lovely softer & more sweet smell, almost like a more innocent version of the first notes. It is honestly amazing; perfect for the evening but can be worn in the day if you want to be noticed. There’s something addictive about it – I would say it should be similarly named to Dior Hypnotic Poison (which is my signature scent). For the price it is a great bargain however the longevity isn’t great. Sillage on the other hand is quite impressive for a celeb scent. Lovely feminine bottle also 🙂

I just got this, and Hypnotic Poison is one of my favorite perfumes, and I wear it quite frequently. This is not that similar to my nose. It’s more like a distant cousin, not even a sister. It’s missing the almond, and it’s not as sweet, and it’s far, far woodier. I don’t even find HP to be woody.
Now, it could just be my body chemistry, and on others, perhaps this is somewhat more like Hypnotic Poison. I do like By Night, but it’s not the love I was hoping it would be. It is however the best of the three Christina perfumes that I have. I never could get myself to wear her first one very often, and I so wanted to like it. I’m still glad to have this one, I just wish it was less woody on me.

WOW! I love this scent!! It smells just like Hypnotic Poison to me, but with a hint of fresh red apple! Which makes me thing of HP even more, because HP comes in a red apple shaped bottle. I just love that this scent is so good yet so cheap. And it lasts! I’ve been wearing it for a good 4+ hours now, and it hasn’t died down yet. I really like it, it makes me feel so feminine and classy. The drydown (like the drydown that you’d smell on yourself the next day) is not so good – it smells more like a cheap synthetic musk by that point – but hey! This fragrance is cheap! I’m really impressed, I wasn’t expecting this at all 🙂

This was my very first perfume. i got it as a gift from my now husband, it is his favorite fragrance from my collection and he asks always if i still have it or if we need to buy another bottle, so much he likes it. i must say it is really good. Sensual, mature, mysterious and feminine. This one reminds me lightly of Hypnotic Poison, but By Night is sexier.
On me it is quite linear and everything is well blended. I get mostly an exotic vanilla with a spicy, tropical feeling to it. I guess it is the pineapple and maybe the rhuburb. i can´t recognize any flower on this, but i don´t miss them. Everything smells very natural and i can´t compare the vanilla on this perfume with any other i have smelled. this one has personality, magnetism. Really very inviting. this fume is perfect for a date night or simply for staying at home with your husband when you want to have some fun =) something on this vanilla keep you interested, it is comforting but at the same time keeps you awake.
Sillage is ok and longevity too.
The bottle is really cute and i think the ad suits this fragrance well. And i actually can picture Christina wearing this one.
Overall, very well made fragrance. If it were from a designer brand people would be wearing it everywhere. Thumbs up for Aguilera.

I really like this one, I’ve had it a few years. To me this is spicy in a way which is great. I can smell the oak moss, but it’s not overpowering which I like, I don’t really like oak moss that takes over a perfume. I like her perfumes, because they are different, and unique from the other celebrity scents, she has stepped it up. I haven’t smelled all of her perfumes, because some of them I can’t find. This is nighttime, and I love it. This is one of my favorite perfumes by her. Overall I give this a 8/10.

I’ve seen a Youtube review of this fragrance which I really liked and I haven’t been able to find it anywhere where I live, so when I recently found it at an airport I had to spritz it on. The bottle looks pretty and I guess that lead me into believing that this was a darker and deeper scent than it turned out to be. Unfortunately this is not my cup of tea. It’s very fruity-happy and on me there was no depth at all. Judging by the notes I would think the vanilla & amber would make it deeper and smoother somehow, but at least on me this didn’t happen. It reminded me of the Juicy Couture-line and it had that kind of Britney Spears-sweetness to it and I’m not particularly fond of those. If you like those kind of fragrances, I’m sure you will enjoy this one – because it wasn’t an ugly smell, it just wasn’t something for me. I’m sure this will make a good and cheaper alternative for Juicy Couture lovers.

If in the first Christina Aguilera fragrance it’s the vanilla that complements the fruits, in Christina Aguilera By Night it’s the other way round. From first sniff, CA By Night smells prominently vanilla and almond on a light base of amber and sandalwood, while red apple and tangerine provide a gentle tartness. Afterwards, CA By Night doesn’t change much, just the fruits subdue while peach blossoms bring in a little more floral nuance.
The sillage is close to skin and the longevity is around 6 hours. CA By Night is overall a sweet, slightly powdery vanilla fragrance, but the sweetness is relatively well restrained and being relatively light also prevents it being too cloying. A simple and pretty fragrance. Not very original, but versatile and enjoyable, very suitable as an affordable pick-me-up fragrance for vanilla fans.

The top notes are so addictive…. the fruits blend together into a really lush, tropical cocktail… then combine that with the middle florals which are so feminine and sweet, followed by a layer of vanilla over the top. The longevity is disappointing, but this is such a gorgeous scent while it lasts. A new love for me 🙂

My only complaint with this is that after around 2 hours,it starts to fade fast to an almost faint non existent scent. If you dont mind reapplying and love Hypnotic Poison but dont want to spend alot, this might be for you.

This is a VERY WEARABLE perfume, one of the BEST of Christina’s line and of my entire collection as well. I have already finished many bottle of this so, it should mean something…
It is marketed as a “by night” fragrance, it’s true, but I think you can wear it wherever and whenever you want. Is one of these sexy dark vanilla fragrances but with a hint oriental notes that makes it perfect for every occasions.
Although this fragrance ISN’T heavy, it does have a STRONG resemblance with “Hypnotic Poison” by Christian Dior but, it is more light, fades away quicker and it does stay more close to the skin.
I’ve been also using some other related products from the same line. The body lotion is ok; it’s really moisturizing and you need just a little bit to cover a big area of your skin. But it does have only some of the perfume notes coming out. The shower gel, instead, is something that I would NOT recommend. Delusional, pure plastic smell.

Oh I love this scent! It’s not very original as it is very similar to Hypnotic Poison. It’s like a lighter version of it with fruit more prominent. It’s creamy, very sexy and not suffocating, unlike HP which I love too, but could be very easily unbearable for some people. It’s not a very strong scent, yet I could still smell the almonds and vanilla hours after I spritzed it. I love the almond note in this one, it’s just gorgeous.

Starts off as soapy apple on me, this stage lasts about 1 hour. After that it’s pure sandalwood. I can hardly smell it after 3 hours, and it sits close to the skin, just like the rest of her perfumes.

I like it quite a bit. I get no cheap plastic smell that has been mentioned. I can really smell apple at the beginning and there’s a smoky vanilla, not a sickly sweet one. The scent is very cozy and warm. I would absolutely wear it on a night out. It’s definitely going on my wish list. Also, since people have been mentioning a similarity to HP, I have to say I don’t really see it.

Where are people getting this ‘cheap’ smell from?! I think this has a very classy smell to it! I only really get two notes from this fragrance, and they are the Rhubarb and the Vanilla! With the Rhubarb, it’s right there on the initial spray, and it stays for about an hour on me. Then from there, that’s where the Vanilla kicks in! You can smell the Vanilla from the start, but after the Rhubarb dries down, the vanilla really comes into play!
The longtivity of this fragrance on me is about 7-8 hours, so it’s got good staying power! The vanilla is also very evident throughout this fragrance as well. The silage is okay on me. Sits pretty close to my skin. But somehow people can still smell it on me.
The bottle is the same design as her other fragrances, and I didn’t even find the other bottles anything to scream about, so for me, the bottle is just, meh.
So all in all, it’s a very nice fragrance, especially if you like Vanilla. The lasting power is good, but the silage is okay. Definitely worth the money!

Sour tangerines, sour pineapple and melting plastic is all I can smell.
Was hoping for a HP dupe, but I can not even smell any vanilla. 🙁

The only reason I tried it is because of all the reviews mentioning resemblance to Hypnotic Poison. I disagree. By Night smells like a cheap apple shampoo mixed with synthetic vanilla. I wouldn’t recommend buying it blind thinking it is a HP replica, because it just cannot compare! I guess what you pay is what you get:/

I loved it in the beginning but later on it becomes dull and offensive for me. I dont agree that it resembles to HP, cos HP is something unique and breathtaking 🙂

I really love this! It is true it does smell like HP but like other reviewers have said it doesn’t have the slight pepperiness that HP has. It’s actually softer and simpler than Hypnotic Poison.
I can really smell the vanilla and rhubarb and it creates this ‘cream soda’ like smell, sweet, fluffy but also smooth. So delicious!
The bottle is beautiful too. I love Christina’s day fragrance and now this one. Gorgeous scent and perfect for date night! It’s cozy and warm and definitely won’t sting anyone’s nose hairs!
I also own HP and I thought I’d never say this but I think I love By Night more 🙂

By night is a very good surprise for me. I can understand the similarity with Hypnotic Poison. However I personally think there is a difference because I can’t stand the coconut/almond note of Hypnotic Poison. Coconut can make me feel nauseous. Which is why I prefer Hypnotic Poison Eau Sensuelle that is more flowery.
By night remains fruity on my skin. I mainly smell the sourness of apple, pineapple and rhubarb in a sexy vanilla and amber base. It is a bit synthetic and the longevity could be better but I’m not astonished because it is difficult to reach the quality of a Dior at such a low price… I think that it can indeed be a good inexpensive alternative for people who like Hypnotic Poison.

I bought the 50ml bottle on sale at Boots. I really love this perfume as the scent stood out from the usual fruit-floral-patchouli-sweet formula found in most celebrity scents. I spritzed the perfume from the tester bottle on my wrist and on the way home I could not resist smelling it, which is a very good sign. I bought By Night the next day. This perfume reminds me a lot of Hypnotic Poison which is one of my current favourites.I am very happy with By Night as Hypnotic Poison is a little expensive for me to purchase.I can say that this perfume is sensuality in a bottle. A truly affordable luxury!

This does indeed smell a bit like Hypnotic Poison except that this perfume is a bit sharper and stronger-a fruity, vanilla smell that is sharp and strong but sadly, not very long lasting.

In the past i had many drugstore scent and at some point they all had the same mix of cheap perfume bucket so I was not expecting anything from that one too.
But you know what? I am very surprised. I was testing this scent all day and I must say it’s very pleasant. After sparaying it settles very quick
