Description

This “cocktail of pleasure” (C`est La Fete) was designed by Jean Jacques from the perfume company Takasago for Christian Lacroix. The top notes are made of juicy pear, passion fruit, apricot and black currant. The floral heart has the notes of jasmine, rose and orchid. Vanilla, sandalwood and musky notes are in the base. The fragrance was created in 2007.

Passion fruit and pear are two fruit scents I enjoy, so I thought I’d try a little 5ml. I’m typically not into fruity scents but this works on me (much to my surprise). The vanilla adds a touch of sweet, and the sandalwood and musk notes add some depth in the drydown. A very good fresh summer scent in an adorable bottle.

a beautiful fruity floral with the sweet juice apricot, plum and pear balanced by the sharp tagetes, orchid and rose then deepened with some musk and sandalwood; reminds me of some vintages from the 80s and 90s

Is it sweet? Absolutely! But in a very nice way. Usually I have a deep dislike for fruity florals, but this one pulls it off. I can smell the vanilla very clearly amongs all the sweet fruit and flowers, and it makes the perfume more mature, more balanced than most presentday fruity florals. Lovely for a hot summer day.

These days I am having some sort of craving/longing for discontinued fragrances so I reached out for the box of empty fragrance bottles that I had collected over the years and picked this one up. After a bit of effort I managed to squeeze a tiny bit of the last couple of drops that were remaining. The smell took me back to 2007/2008 when I wore this. This is a fruity floral fragrance but there is something unusual (in a good way of course!) about this scent. Perhaps its the tagetes along with the rose and the plum giving it that slightly vintage powdery 1990s feel. Definitely unlike the generic celebrity fruity florals these days. I really miss the fragrance. Unfortunately this is a another gem of a fragrance that has been ceased for production! Please make the house of Christian Lacroix bring this back along with Bazar!

A feminine, lightly fruity, creamy scent, with a tart beginning. The black currant and pear were the most noticeable top notes for me. The marigold and creamy base notes emerged next, while my skin chemistry seemed to miss the other florals in the heart. C’est La Fete quickly dried down to a soft, slightly sweet, creamy (not powdery) scent with orchid, sandalwood, and vanilla being most prominent on me.
It’s a pleasant fragrance, but not exactly how I want to smell based on my own personal preferences. I think I would prefer something more powdery or heavier, and without the tart top notes. (I loved C’est La Fete Patchouli!)

Smells very sweet and girly, very soft and doesn’t last very well. Not for me at all.

Really lovely bottle, scent is fruity and sweet. Like a less chemical Escada.

Smells just like cheap shampoo to me. A bit ozonic. Not impressed to say the least and have just had to try to scrub it off but the damn stuff is tenacious. New 5ml bottle to pass on.

the cocktail of pleasure..was a perfect name for a pleasurable perfume.. that you can almost drink.. a fine.. sensual.. Innocent ..passionate.. memorable.. tropical cocktail… of pleasure ..a sunny delight ..a fresh.. refreshing.. sweet.. alive.. perfume.. or cocktail.. almost fizzy ..its similar to the escadas.. but no.. the escadas are more gourmand.. the lacorax are more perfume.. more refined.. more sophisticated. more juicy in a drier way..they all share the aliveness.. the hip vibe.. the young heart.. the summery love.. the peachy resorts..the love of life..the passion to explore the world..
it smells amazingly fresh.. and yet sexy.. and sweet.. and pure ..and clean.. everyone will definitely compliment u on what you are wearing.. it’s a lovely scent.. that will leave everyone mesmerized.. and wanting to talk to you.. for its so sweet.. but not in a cloying way.. or as in the new sugar bombs.. its a refined.. passion fruit.. apple.. peach.. pears.. with a heart of fine flowers its oh so lovely.. its something i would want to ware in an airplane.. and have everyone comment on .. unfortunately you have to use it within a year.. its that kind that turns a bit dull after a while..and loses its lushness. ..as in most of the lighter perfumes but alest this one has a good staying power and sillage which is a plus for such accords..
to sum it up its a truly beautiful full round live cocktail of passion..

I had a small 5ml sample of this to try and wore only this for a whole day. At the end of the day, all I could think was “This is Rochas’ Tocade!”
It starts as a light floral, and beds down into a warm, sandalwood, vanilla fragrance that has good longevity.
It’s so like Tocade that I could hardly tell them apart!

Very fruity and sweet. Wore it all day and didn’t pick up any noticable florals on my skin. Also didn’t notice the vanilla or powdery scents. Nice but nothing special.

I had not tried this one ,but mum had raved about the patchouli version so I bought it unseen for a good price on Ebay and I’m really happy that I did! I found that the top notes all burst out at once when you first spray it on-for me the bergamot, blackcurrant and pear were the most noticeable, then fairly quickly it starts to develop into a more floral scent, ending as a powdery sweet vanilla rose-it really reminds me of the original Tocade by Rochas-a former signature scent of mine. Love it !

Warm sweet, mature. I felt like I’m 40 when I spray it on my skin. No long lasting on me. It scent remind me to hot summer in an island, a coconut in hand 😛

Sweet, fruity, but not girly at all. I’d say more mature fruity, I smell strongly apricots, plum and orchid and no, any vanilla.
I bought it accidently when buying the Patchuli version and I don’t regret it. Definitively is staying in my wardrobe next to it’s cousin Tumulte.
In last whiffs I smell some similarity between them. It confirms my theory that perfumes of houses have got a notes which join them.

I’m a great fan of the “C’est la vie” perfume – so pity it was discontinued! – and when “C’est la fete” was released I bought it without even testing it. I was sure I would love it. The bottle is a yellow-turqoise reflection of summer! The perfume itself is summer. I bought it during my honeymoon. So interesting! Pergamont is not “aggressive” at all. Its presence is dynamic, but it gets softened by the rest of the fruits. Yes, it is the “little brother” of the legendary “C’est la vie”. It is a prince, but not the king. Loved and respectfull.

This perfume is very fruity tropical smelling and reminds me of hot summer days at the beach and bbqs.I love the bottle as it is different and quirky,i have never seen a perfume bottle before shaped like a human heart.Great sillage and puts me in a happy mood.Just the right amount of sweetness for me without taking on a candy/fruit juice smell.

I bought this mostly because I liked the bottle so much but also because passion fruit is one of the few fruits whose smell I like in a perfume. I am not that much into fruity florals, which are the majority of female perfumes theses days, and I usually find them boring, common and unappealing, when not sickening. But this one is much better than I expected. It was really a nice surprise. It is not overly passionfruit, I think the opening is a very well balanced mixture mostly of pear and passionfruit, it is quite sweet at the beginning, but after a while, when musk starts taking over, it is really great, sexy and even sophisticated, but much more so than the vast majority of current floral fruity, sickeningly sticky and sweet. Musk is always musk and it usually gives a perfume a special touch. And I love the musk here, which seems to me to be egyptian musk, the same type of clear sort of clean musk one finds in Narcizo Rodriguez. Althought this perfume is not grounbreaking, which very few are, anyway, most these days just resembling one another, I actually find it very good, very well structured, and I am very very happy with the purchase, which is the 200 ml bottle, which I will buy againg when this one is gone if it is still in production. It is also quite complex, not a simple fragrance. Longevity is also good and sillage is absolutely great. In a few words, what a marvellous perfume.

Passion fruit galore! This one is strange on me. People compliment me all the time on this one and I can hardly smell anything except passion fruit and a tiny bit of musk. It starts out beautifully fresh and summery, and then I can’t smell it anymore. It must have staying power as I receive LOTS of compliments. Weird, but I’ll stick with it and see what happens…

Reminds me of a fruitier schampoo, or one of the Date perfumes that some of the older girls had in the middle of the 90´s. Smells good, but it´s a scent im tired of because of that

Got this cuz someone else doesn’t want it. Really cute bottle, took me some time to figure out it’s the shape of a heart. Scent smells familiar. It’s the kind of scent I like, but not wearable by me. Boozy is a spot on description, as noted by a previous comment.
Update: Been using this more for the summer. The beginning is always sharp and alcoholic on me, but the drydown is mellow and nice. Smells clean and kind of posh, very nice for hot weather

I’m on a passionfruit high today, thanx to this baby. Bought myself a miniature coz I loved the bottle but when I smelled the potion I was just inlove. One sniff & i get an image of the Rio carnival. Thats the kind of energy the fume vibrates. Intersting how the top fruity notes blend in with the middle ones. Happy to say it’s going to be a keeper. Cocktail of pleasures the name is fitting. Thumbs up!

Love the shape of the bottle, love the smell it’s absolutely divine. It has a sweet fruity floral smell. It’s very sweet but as Baiba commented not overpowering.I love the packaging,it’s so bright and cheery looking and the perfume inside is absolutely gorgeous,a winner for me.mmmm delicious. My first time trying this fragrance.Love it.X

I love the shape of bottle ))) Bought it firstly because of that.
The scent itself is a sparkling fruity juice at first 10 minutes, then comes a pleasant sweet and a little fruity middle and base. I cannot call this something outstanding, but it is a joy and cheerful fragrance that can raise up your mood and reminds you of summer in the cold winter days.

Try it on your down jacket and you will be surprised!
I thought it is a summer time only fragrance, but then a miracle happen as i sparyed it onto my down jacket during some chilly autumn day! It also lasts much longer on that material than on my skin or my hair.
Stocking this up, because it seems that this one is going out!!
Fresh and fruity it is a relly happy fragrance for me.

Nearly bought this yesterday as it was on sale, just because the bottle looked so pretty. luckily I tried it on first and decided to thing about it. it was really sickly on me and had to wash it off when I got home. can’t smell any of the ingrediences mentioned above, just a cloying mess.

Light enough fruity floral musky fragrance.
On me this fragrance smells like a fruity powder. Most of all I feel the pear, passionfruit, orchid, vanilla and musk notes in it. It’s too musky and even dry. More light than strong. The lasting power is good.
I like the bottle more than the fragrance, because the fragrance is too powdery for me.

I think the bottle is the only thing that worth it. To me the fragance smells very synthetic.

i bought it from a discount site, i did not smell the scent before ordering. i think it is an old fashioned bubble gum scent:( i can’t believe it’s launched in 2007. disappointment it gave me headache:( i will give it maybe to my mum if she likes it:(

what a beautiful fresh burst at the beginning! the loveliness of the top notes make me swoon like no other! sadly, this soon fades, and c’est la fete is yet another light scent gone awry on my hard-to-please skin. 🙁 perhaps it works better & lasts longer on those with better chemistry than me, for me, this turns out just like eclat d’arpege, stinky on my skin…

  34. :

Nice fresh fragrance for summer, I use it in very hot days, but I never last more that 10 minute son my skin 🙁

  35. :

It is lovely and reminds me of the early onset of a party where the medley of nice but different scents still mingle. That is why I like to use it as a room spray as well. It makes me feel happy.

  36. :

Yes! At last! A floral fruity that lasts more than 10 minutes on my skin!
I love the cute bottle, I love the bright packaging, I love the name and I really love the way it was on special offer today!
Cest la Fete is indeed a celebratory little perfume – today I celebrated being the sweetest freshest commuter on a crowded tube train in sticky old London town!
I really like the passionfruit in this. Quite how it avoids smelling like a drink you take to Wimbledon, especially in combination with the apricot, is a real mystery. Perhaps it comes down to the tart, sharper edge of blackcurrant, and there’s a lightness to it I expect must be the pear.
The hold isn’t fantastic, but the midnotes linger a good while in pretty if generic flowery wafts – musk? sandalwood? vanilla? I can’t detect those notes at all. When the fete’s over all I can smell are soft green notes and flowers!

i smelled this one in a store and i liked it imediately. it’s true that when you first spray it on it is a bit heavy but then it developes to a nice fruity sour smell. fit for summer wear for young women.

I totally agree with Balba. It’s a very beautiful scent, a little strong without being toxicating. I consider it a sweeter version of Dior Dune.

Lovely, sweet, fruity – flowery, somehow reminds me of some Escada fragrances – maybe because of the fruity notes. To my surprise quite long lasting, but not overpowering – a great deal! I’m so glad I choosed this fragrance!
