A very beautiful rose fragrance. Smells exactly like Elizabeth Ardens’ Pretty. I have them both on my vanity and yes, they do smell identical.
    Silage is arms length.
Longevity for me is about 3 to 4 hours.
This is a perfect Spring and Summer fragrance on a warm beautiful day. Perfect for work as well.
A very beautiful feminine soft comforting rosey scent.

Rose? I don’t get a lot of rose in this. It’s a pretty, fresh clean floral with lots of cherry blossom. Cabotine Cherry Blossom, not Rose. Light and a tad soapy. If you like Avon Haiku Kyoto Flower, you will love this because it is similar but purer and sweeter.
Look at the bottle. Imagine how something from a cute pink bottle like that would smell. Well, that’s how this smells.

This is a musky and very sweet rosy floral. She is soft but powerful and you only need 2 sprays to appreciate its sweetness. It is refreshing to find such a powerful perfume for such a bargain price! I have one other Gres perfume (Cabotine) and it seems that this perfume house makes strong perfume that lasts. I find this a great change from the watered down perfumes that are all too common.

I have a question. I am noting that reviewers are saying it smells rose and soapy. Is there a resemblance to Chloe EDp?

I just ordered my prob 12th bottle. When I tell you I have a stash, it is insane.I love ALL kinds of fragrances. But this little clean Rose Beauty has been a favorite of mine since I discovered it in 2000 (ish)? I LOVE this. Not to heavy, not too rosey, just perfection. Natalie N. I used up half of my bottle in 24hours. Less obtrusive and more refined than a body mist, with about as much lasting power. So lovely I kept spraying it and didn’t notice how much I was using. Very very pretty, dainty rose floral, delicate and fragile to the core… wish it had a backbone to give it lasting power. I can’t justify buying another bottle, even though I love it, but it’s so inexpensive it’s worth trying, and it might last better on someone else.

It smells to my nose like green tea with rose and cherry blossom petals in it; and something artificial.

regular lipstick scent (80-ties, 90-ties), “lipstick spray”, no rose, cherry blossom – maybe slightly

Such a great rose scent, it is a pity it does not last long on my skin, even on clothes it just stays for 7 hours with moderate sillage. But it is so well developed, first a little
fragile rose than it sweetens and becomes almost a caramelized though not cloying rose, thanks probably to the sweetening by the frangipani. Delicious, exuberant, a scent that makes you happy (well, for a few hours anyway).

To my tropical country nose, this is very floral but not cloying type of fragrance and definitely very summer-y if there is such a word! I love the soft rose whisper- like first burst when you initially spray this on your skin,. In about the next 30 mins after initial spray, you will be surrounded by a beautiful rose and cherry blossom combination, its very feminine without being loud. Perfect for the rose lover who like me, wants to smell the roses scent throughout my day and yet, wants to keep low key and not annoy anybody.
Great daytime, summer scent without all the fuss.. A 4 out of a 5 for me.. Nice!!

Such a cute and pretty pink rose bottle!
This is a cheap perfume at under 15 bucks from Amazon.com but worth it. My kind of fragrance. Reminds me so much of Japanese Cherry Blossom from Bath And Body Works. I don’t know if it’s a coincidence or the fact they have a lot of the same notes: fruit top notes of cherry blossom, mandarin orange, pear, a floral heart of rose, jasmine, tiare (frangipani) lily, peony and mimosa and the base of sandalwood and musk. As it is, though, it’s not a dupe but it does have the same kind of tone and body. And like B&B Works fragrances it doesn’t last a long time and it’s a light very soft scent.
Cabotine Rose is a delightful spring/summer day wear fruity floral. It’s clean, fresh, sweet, with spring time flowers of rose, peony, mimosa and a tuberose/lily white flower accord. They smell soapy like a bar of pink Dove soap. Very feminine. Sorry unisex or gender bender perfume buyers this is not going to smell remotely unisex. It’s all female. The sweetness is not cloying or sugary but it does have an innocence to it. A young girl ages 13 to 18 can wear this as an intro to perfume.
It has ‘grown up’ notes though in the dry stages with a bit of pepper, musk, spice, and green vetiver. But these dry notes are not really that pronounced and I wonder what it is about them that keeps this thing so light weight and short-lived. East to wear and carry around in my handbag for spritzing many times during my day. A sweet girly fruity floral. If you like rose and peony notes in perfumes check this out ladies.

This is not just rose–there is a lot more at play but so well blended that I don’t pick out any one note. Sillage is moderate. I like this a lot. Perfect for spring and summer. I don’t get soapiness (like in “Glow”) But it is fresh and floral-sweet with just a hint of fruitiness.

Too soapy for me, but those who are into roses + other flowers + citrus may like this.
I like the balance though: rose is what you definitely smell first, but overall the scent is well-rounded as other flowers and citrus kicks in in a couple of minutes.
If I were into flowers – I’d add it to my “favorites”, otherwise let my aunt appreciate it.
    PS: charming bottle

To me definitely smells like rose at first then blooms into a cherry-blossom peony and other florals with a dusting of pepper and even less musk… I do sense something citrusy actually immediately after the floral. That all I can recognize. I do like it a lot. Definitely spring/summer fragrance without a doubt. It’s very light and pretty easy to like. Hard to mess up. 🙂 is a bit soapy/fabric softer…. If only they smelled this good…

Cabotine Rose is a pretty perfume with a light, clean, soft, almost soapy vibe. It’s quite linear with no development but this is doesn’t mean it should be a negative thing. As a matter of fact I like this perfume a lot especially during the days when I feel like I don’t need something complex and sophisticated to wear I rather you opt for a simple, floral-fruity scent that doesn’t overwhelm the senses and doesn’t offend anyone close to you.
Being that it’s an EDT I didn’t expect much of sillage and longevity but it stays on colthes though for a long time. On my skin, even after applying the moisterizer it fades away quite qickly, but I noticed that you can have the best of it if applying to the clothes instead. In this case, I smell wafts of the scent during all day and it makes me happy because it is somehow a happy girl scent. I’ve applied it now during autumn time but it would be far more appropriate during spring and summer time when the weather is warmer and I could benefit more of it.
I applied it on my pyjamas before going to sleep and I must say that it has an impressive longevity on clothes. I kept smelling wafts of it all night. Besides it developed into a more creamy floral-fruity which I loved. Even after a few days later the perfume is still there and I can’t wait to put on my pyjamas.

    A Nod to Yesteryear:
Add a dash of rain, a few dryer sheets, & a couple of drops of sweet rose water….. Stir it all in & you have a wonderfully clean naturally sweet beautiful fragrance!

I recently received this in a swap and truly enjoy the blend of rose and cherry blossom–very fresh and not overly sweet. My only complaint is that it fades quickly on my skin–wish it would carry me through the whole day!

I’m a sucker for a pretty bottle. This is a cute bottle with what looks like a hair scrunchie as the stopper although it’s supposed to be a pink rose. This is a pink flavored pink smelling pretty perfume. It’s subtle and soft. It opens with sweet fruit: mandarin oranges, pears, and some black currant which is really another word for grapes. The rose is not too powerful and in fact it probably smells more of a peony. This is also very much a cherry blossom scent. All these flowers baby rose buds cherry blossom and peony are little small flowers that are not super strong. If you like soft flowers this is bliss. This is a lovely floral fragrance with additional flowers surrounding the rose and peony including mimosa orange blossom and lilies. Very pretty flowers. But they are not heavy and the whole thing is actually so light that it wears off quickly. At first I thought it was my chemistry or my skin eating the perfume but I have a girlfriend who wears this and the same thing happened to her. It is a short lived fragrance. It doesn’t seem to last longer than 3 hours. I think it might be at most 4 hours. That’s not bad really and if I want to wear it for a longer time than that I reapply. I found it to be fresh delicious sweet fruity floral. It’s a low price but the scent is very intoxicating and sweet. Buy this perfume!

Fragrance Review For Cabotine Rose Gres
Top notes black currant, mandarin orange, cherry blossom pear
Middle notes peony, mimosa, tuberose, orange blossom, lily, pepper, jasmine rose
Base notes: sandalwood, musk, vetiver frangipani
This fragrance was a gift from a friend. They clearly aren’t paying attention to the kind of perfumes and colognes I wear. This is not my preference in perfume. I do own the Cabotine Gold. I’m already sick of roses and florals and fruity florals but it is spring time and I do like to wear those kind of scents in the day time, at work, during my other commitments/plans. I think this is nothing special. The bottle is very cute. This is a fruited rose. Not a realistic enough rose for me. It’s certainly no Tea Rose Perfumers Workshop Rose Water by Evelyn & Crabtree. It’s a sweet pink rose layered with other flowers like cherry blossom, lily, jasmine peony and mimosa. There’s also a tuberose. This is a lovely bouquet of flowers. Very very floral. There’s also sweet fruit of black currant grapes and citrus as well as pear. It’s a fruity floral and the whole time the fragrance wears on your skin (and that’s a short time) the scent is soft, subtle and sweet. Not bad really but a bit too light for my tastes. I do appreciate the gift and like I said I love the bottle. I will wear this from time to time when I feel like smelling of little flowers. Easily a young girl’s first “adult perfume”. It’s got a lot of common floral frag ingredients and it makes a very nice gift. And also it’s a very affordable fragrance if you’re on a budget.

Like some of the other reviewers here, this was a blind buy, based on my affection for the original Cabotine (my Tendre Poison substitute). This rose flanker is a new favourite! Light, soft, feminine and powdery rose tones with cherry blossom and something a little woody underneath, it sits close to the skin and lasts an age. The fruity top notes don’t last long on me, and it’s not too sweet, but the pear makes a reappearance in the base notes, which was unexpected (I bought it based on people’s reviews here). The morning after I wore it for the first time, my shoulders smelt of musk, sandalwood and pear. The notes I don’t really get are vetiver, frangipani or pink pepper, but this may be more to do with my nose than the lack of their presence – it feels very well blended. Dare I say, better blended than the original cabotine…I just feel very fresh when I wear this perfume, it’s as though it is part of me and although I like a lot of fragrances, not many have that effect.

When I was a senior in high school, my boyfriend bought me a set of floral perfumes. A set of little .5oz scents from Victoria’s Secret. I think there were 5 of them I liked them all but loved the freesia and the rose scent.
One spritz of this light floral scent and it takes me back to carefree days and my first love. Amazing! I love it! All I smell is roses, fresh, watery and light. Longevity is not great and the sillage is moderate, but it is so inexpensive you can afford to use it with abandon if you wish. This doesnt smell cheap, it smells like a rose garden after a rain storm.

This was a blind buy for me, years ago. At first, I didn’t like it because Cherry Blossom fragrances were everywhere and it didn’t stand out. So, I put it away for a few seasons and brought it out, again.
This is a spring into Spring scent as the flowers are slowing opening and making its way to fill the air with lovely bouquets of the season. Cherry blossom is equal to the Rose with a hint of Frangipani (plumeria) in the background. Layering this gives it a fun and enjoyable twist. The body is a blank canvas and scents are the medium to olfactory art.

This is so very nice! The opening is something as unusual as realistic fruits- sweet mandarine and tender black currant and pear that for a change smells like pear and not slushy. I right away smell bright, sweet rose and the gentlest, most subdued tuberose- Oh, I adore when tuberose is like this! Here it´s the TINIEST bit mentholated and it´s greenish. No cloying creaminess or milky feel at all (nothing wrong with that, but this way of using tuberose appeals more to me). It´s really yummy how one can smell the separate flowers and fruits all the time here! Mimosa rounds it down while lily sharpens it and it manages to be BOTH soulful and sharp-ish. Not sour in the least if anyone wonders. I don´t really know what makes it so watery and almost ozonic as well- there is no lotus or calone in it and it does not have that screechy melon-tang at all. Clean musk and woods and a little bit of vetiver rounds it up. I mixes wonderfully with clean true rose scents like Paul Smith Rose or Jo Malone, but it stands really well by itself. I can´t help but thinking that this is the way Calvin Klein´s summer fragrances should smell like and not like they actually do!

My first perfume from Cabotine line.
I always interested in this one because it has two of my fav note together (Cherry blossom and rose). So it won’t be hard for me to like this perfume.
As I expected, I quite like it. Carbotine Rose is not any typical rose fragrance. To me, it’s a ‘warm rose’. Cherry blossom, peony and pepper are warming rose scent but still clean and feminine at the same time.
The longevity is quite good. It lasts almost 6 hours on me. And it sits very close to my skin like a kiss of petals.

  27. :

    3 out of 5

Very clean, fresh, watery rose–and I tend to prefer a watery rose to a stronger, oilier rose, so that’s not a negative for me! After a quick rubbing alchohol moment on initial spray, it presents as crisp, light, fruity. I get mostly pear for the fruits, and then more cherry blossom than rose once the flowers show up. It soon turns soapy, but definitely more on the side of a Caress or Dove soap as opposed to a Chanel No 5 soapiness. There’s a little “dryer sheet” that sneaks in later on; but on the whole, it stays fresh, light, crisp, clean.
Sillage and longevity, I’m not exactly sure about. I often feel like I can’t smell it after the first hour unless I press my nose to my arm, but then I’ll be catching sporadic wafts of it up to 12 hours later. There was one day when I had done quite a generous second spraying at lunchtime since the fragrance had disappeared to my nose that morning, and my coworker said he could tell I was there as soon as he walked into the room because he could smell perfume. When I asked if it was in a good way, he evaluated it as “pretty and light” and said he liked it.
Cabotine Rose is great for hot days or days when you want to smell shower fresh with a light fruity-floral bent. I could also see it being good for layering with something that you want to perk up a little. You can spray quite a lot without it ever becoming cloying or overbearing–and with the price tag, why not? I am happy to have this in my collection and could see myself repurchasing in the future.

I did not know this perfume and I bought it because it was on sale…I am very happy about it, I love it! I was very surprised cause I hate the green one which I think is loud and harsh…
It’s a fruity-floral, very feminine. I have been looking for a rose perfume that is not ALL about roses, and this one works great. Rose-sherry blossom-peony-pear-pepper is what I get the most.
I have decided it would become my summer scent!
AND….yes I am in my 40s and NO, I do not think I am too old to wear this 😉

  29. :

I blind bought this because of the price (obviously) and also I have tried the original cabotine and cristallisme (the purple one) and looooved them. I am no expert so I can never explain the notes and give a sophiscated description but here goes. First of all, the longevity is great I sprayed it on my wrist before I went to bed just to see and I could still smell a tiny bit of it the next morning! Secondly, it does match the notes given below in the composition. Personally I could smell the cherry blossom the most. Lastly I don’t know why but it also smells a little watery, so a little disappointing. Overall, to me this one is sugary and watery cherry blossom so I would recomment this to a teenager or even early twenty something college girls but I feel too old for this. I am gonna keep it cause it still is a nice change to my collection.

This perfume lasts 3 times longer than pretty much everything else in my collection. It is my favorite “cheap” perfume for weekends hanging around the house.

I adore this fragrance. It is beautiful and fresh. I was looking for a Rose fragrance for Spring and decided on this and Guerlain’s Aqua Allegoria Flora Rosa. They are both Rose-Berry fragrances but they are quite different. This one is fresher and more complex than Flora Rosa. The Rose is there but not over the top as it is blended perfectly with the other many notes. The Cherry Blossom in this is not overbearing and adds to the overall lightness. The Mimosa and Peony are two of my favorite notes and Cabotine Rose’s other more noticeable floral notes. It has a mild soapiness that is not cloying at all. It lasts all day and its sillage is moderate.

I ordered this a couple weeks ago after reading reviews on here for I was looking for a fresh, fun spring scent. This is perfect in every way and I love it! It reminds me a little of Bath and Body Works Cherry Blossom but I like this one more. It’s soft but still has good sillage/longevity and I feel so clean when I have it on like I just got out of the shower. So pretty and feminine!

  33. :

Lovely, fresh, light, although a tiny bit soapy to my nose 🙂 Very pretty.
Came across this fragrance as a lady customer walked into my work and caught a waft of spring blossoming. I could smell this from a good distance with my colleague, who also thought that smell was delightful! I was a little shy asking the lady about what she was wearing, I am always a little concerned the question comes across as nosey, as quite a few people don’t like revealing their perfume. Anyway, my colleague decided to go and ask her, which she answered. So I went testing, and bought a bottle! 🙂
I enjoy it, but for some reason I find it a little loud on me. I think it’s more spring/summer appropriate, it mixes in delightfully with a warm breeze.

I bought this quite honestly due to the price (a total steal at the local discount store!) and the good reputation of Madame Gres… I am a huge Cabochard fan. No clue what it would be like, after first try, I am thrilled!
First I purchased. Second I read these reviews. Third I had myself a short squirt. I was not at all disappointed! I love the fruit punch/rose combination. It is delightfully bossy and fun, like a garden party on the hottest day of summer, with large droplets of mist condensing on your ice cold fruit punch. A delicious maraschino cherry scent plus rose and maybe a hint of orange, pear and other lush summer fruits but lifted higher by florals.
I don’t get the sandalwood/musk/vetiver notes, maybe frangiapani, but in all, I would classify this as a fruity floral. The bottle is lush and beauitiful and will make a lovely addition to my small collection.

Bought the perfume bc of all the positive reviews…total waste of money. It smells so strong and synthetic! It was a combination of cherry cough syrup and bug spray. Gave it 2 tries….and no..its not just me, all my girlfriends gagged when I spayed them.

It’s the kind of perfume that I would wear with a floral sundress to meet the boyfriend’s parents for the first time or to go on a romantic, spring date.
It is very feminine and appropriate. Spray this on yourself and you will instantly feel pretty.

Another buy at Neiman Marcus Last Call. Amazing sillage! Every time I wear this I get compliments. Normally this is something I wouldnt buy but the top of the bottle is so cute! Little rose flower on the top and it’s PINK! Of course I’m going to pick it up and smell it! Loved it instantly. It’s not the usual smells-like-your-grandmas-sock-drawer-rose either.
The cherry blossom is what sold me on this perfume. That is my absolute go to top note scent. Most of my buys are cherry blossom top notes or middle. Peony is my second. I just bought a bottle of David Yurman Fresh and it goes amazingly with this scent layered. Both have top notes of Peony.
I want to comment on the amazing sillage quality of this perfume. I put 2 sprays on inside arm and 1 spray on each side of my neck. This remains with me all day. The scent doesn’t “taper” off either. It remains constant through out the day. I’ve noticed it’s amazing scent even a few days later when I go to do my laundry. It still lingers on the clothing and I’m thinking MMM! What is that?! Oh it’s Cabotine Rose! My gosh I love that perfume!

Hilariously, I found yet another 50 ml bottle of this juice, which I thought that I had swapped all away. TJMAXX deserves credit for many of these odd and random discoveries of mine in the months subsequent to The Big Move. So what does Cabotine Rose smell like? Not at all like Cabotine, that’s for sure.
Instead of the mean green machine, this composition is all about abstract rose with some spices thrown in! Sort of a The Different Company Rose Poivrée meets ELdO Eau de Protection for a tête-à-tête at the Sephora wall–but for those on a budget! Seriously, this is not bad, relative to all of the abstract roses on the market today. But Cabotine Rose came first!
In some ways, this is more likeable than the current mainstream designer abstract fruity roses, because it is so much less sweet. This is definitely a wearable fragrance, so don’t shy away from those bargain bin bottles on the assumption that they are related temperamentally to the original Cabotine. This is not strident or shrill in the least. No light-sensitivity headache lies ahead. The scent is clean but not mean or green.
Somewhat ironically, I donned this juice for review purposes just before a bath, but I’ll probably be wearing it again. The composition seems pretty hot weather friendly, since the fruits are not dominant at all.

Easy-to-like fragrance. I smell a lot of jasmine & frangipani along with the rose. There are many pretty flower smells and none are really overwhelming to my nose.
I’m not getting a lot of fruit; it’s just there as a background note & not sweet which I like. There is a note of pepper which is nice because it perks everything up. No patchouli- yea!
The base notes are very subtle just providing a table for this vase of pretty flowers. This is a really nice bright rose perfume.

  42. :

    5 out of 5

Any scent that has pepper in it I like. Cabotine Rose has pepper as a note so I automatically liked it when I smelled it. It’s got a rose note in the middle, really light though. I feel it has that type scent that is like a pick me up. Not sweet but fresh, not earthy or comforting, but uplifting, a little green maybe with a small bite because of the pepper. I probably love it most because of that bite.

  43. :

    4 out of 5

Cabotine rose is a delightful, fresh and startling pretty rose. I don’t smell any of the fruit, which is a plus for me. it is not sweet; also a plus. What it is, is a blissful blend of light florals. The cherry blossoms, peonies and mimrose combine into a refreshingly bouquet. On me, there is also a sense of green, which freshens what otherwise might be a heavy floral. The dry down is really quite elegant due to the vetiver, adding just the right amount of sophistication without making the scent too serious.
I will definitely wear this on hot summer days when I want a breath of pure cool floral bliss and fun in the heat.
    Sillage is moderate
Longevity could be a bit longer lasting but it is so lovely, it’s fun to reapply.

  44. :

    4 out of 5

This is a sweet, feminine fragrance. The rose is delicate and balanced perfectly with cherry blossom and peony and fruity notes. The fragrance did not change for a couple of hours, then it lightened and added musk and wood. The Sillage was far, but light And pleasant. At 12 hours, i can still pick up very faint notes, mostly musk.
I would wear this fragrance on outings wirh my son, or with friends.
She has earned a permanent spot in my wardrobe.

  45. :

I agree with a previous review that the cherry blossom is more prevalent than the rose. This is a very nice clean scent. It is very light. It goes a bit soapy and powdery but I think it is still very nice and I just wear this scent when bumming around the house or when I’m about to go to bed.

So fresh and lovely! I put this on first thing in the morning just as a pick me up and reapply during the day. Never overwhelms. Constant compliments. So inexpensive as to be ridiculous, but the scent never smells cheap.
You{ll never be sorry to have it in your collection.

I am very curious about Cabotine line. And this Cabotine Rose is the first I tried.
Yes I like rose, and would be very easy for me to like various rose fragrance. I think this fragrance is simple, classic, reminds me of the perfume in the past.. but I can not remember what it is exactly, does anyone know?
If you like rose, I’m sorry to tell you that rose was not the major player here, but the combination with cherry blossom and peony make it nice and likeable.
It is feminine, classic, simple and not attention maker. Suitable to wear to the office every day.

I like this perfume because it smells very pink and pretty. It is light, floral, and a little sweet at the same time. It makes me feel clean and confident, even when in close proximity to people because I know that I’m not offending anyone. Definitely office friendly. I would even say that people may even mistake this foryour shampoo. It smells like freshly washed hair. Very young and innocent scent.

Cherry blossom and frangipani-so sweet and fresh dominate this lovely fragrance. “Rose” is certainly a shampoo smell in the absolute best way possible. There is a subtle waft of actual rose, but it does not overpower. The musk is nearly nonexistent, and certainly not animalic. Should you be looking for a realistic rose, please look elsewhere-this is more a feeling name than a flower-it feels like a favorite dusky rose shirt with lace or a ruffle, clean and fresh, that makes you feel like a “girly-girl”. Light- you can not spray too much. Low on the “headache factor”. Work safe and absolutely lovely. In fact, this is equally lovely in warm or cool weather…and…the price is extremely right. For less than 10 US dollars-reapply every 4 hours if you feel the need. Please; I’d love to smell you.

I don’t like it. It s not a rose scent and it smells very cheap.

This is floral and fresh. But I think it is too simple. Would be very good on girls, but for me, I prefer a more sophisticated sent.

Light flowery-fruity perfume, a bit cloying on my skin. I expected the pepper and the vetiver notes to be more noticeable. Got it at a low price on strawberrynet, trusting the positive reviews below. I cannot say I am disappointed, the bottle is lovely and the whole stuff is chic and elegant, but am not enthusiastic either.

Easy to wear, smells like fruity roses to me. The sillage is light so it is a good office fragrance. Very clean, very ladylike or even girlish. The light sillage makes it seem as if this EDT is more of a body spray.

It’s totally beautiful !!! It reminds me about my favorite scent when I was a child. Classic and girly enough for 16 to 20 years old. The bottle looks so cute, I love this so much, and I also love the Blue one, but it has been discontinued for years, so sad 🙁

This is a good perfume for everyday, when you want to smell nice and clean, but don’t want to be the center of the attention (work, for instance). I wouldn’t reccomend it for a special ocasion. It’s a sweet yet fresh fragance. It was a blind purchase and I like it so much, that I sent a bottle to my aunt in a different city.

Cabotine Rose (rose as in terms of color, not the flower) is a subtle, clean and light floral fragrance with a touch of nondescript synthetic fruit in the beginning. I don’t know how, but i managed to finish two bottles of it, granted, not the most characteristic scent but it does smell nice. Good for days when more complex scents just do not fit.
The most prominent note probably is cherry blossom to my nose, but overall it smells just flowery and slightly soapy as it dries down.
Indifferent but pleasant, a lot like Solo Soprani Rose.

Cabotine Original (green) is possibly my fave summer floral ot there- the giddy combination of notes I swoon over every time.
I don’t find Cabotine Rose in the same league, however.
I just can’t smell much in the way of complexity; It’s just too thin and watery and presents itself more like a Calgon body spray to my sense of smell; a letdown because I adore sweet, romantic rose fragrances.
I was surprised! This flanker smells so similar to so ridiculously many after bath toiletries, I am surprised Gres felt the need to release this.
    Gres makes two of the most interesting and addictive scents out there;
Cabochard to satisfy my more sophisticated cravings for green and smoky Chypres best worn in cooler weather, and then there’s Cabotine, with it’s heady and exotic lily- perfect for those free spirited days going to the beach on the spur of the moment during the sometimes equally unpredictable, warm off-season California days.
Presently, the rosey scent I crave is the tender and lovely Tresor, with that peach and violet accord slipped in there to make it sweetly irresistable. As my fragrance tastes and sense of smell have been known to shift and develop, I will keep Cabotine Rose and revisit it occassionally.

Recently purchased 100 mls of this from Cheap Smells for a silly price. Firstly the bottle is very cute and heavy with a pretty floral cap – secondly the smell is divine! I lo
