Description

New Zealand fashion designer Karen Walker presents her first fragrance collection Karen Walker Eau de Parfum in April 2015. The collection consists of three fragrances named after the first three letters of the alphabet: A, B and C. The perfumes are made by the oldest perfume house Charabot from Grasse.

C is a rich, creamy and sensual floral scent. Gardenia, magnolia, bergamot and mandarin lead to the heart of tuberose, orange blossom, sambac jasmine and lily of the valley, on the base of sandalwood, amber, musk and cashmere.

The fragrances are available in bottles of 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum. The bottles are designed by Pochet du Courval.

I sprayed this on in Karen Walker’s Auckland flagship store this morning was immediately reminded of Amarige. Tuberose, gardenia and orange blossom are definitely the main players here but this is fruitier and more rounded than Amarige. I can see how it might become a little sickly if oversprayed but in a one to two spray dose this is warm, sweet, uplifting and very girlishly pretty. Nothing heavy or serious to see here, fun in a bottle!

This fragrance makes me feel sexy, it warms up on the skin, maybe it’s the sandalwood. There’s something in it that’s quite addictive because I find I want to keep smelling it on my wrist throughout the day. My favourite of the 3 KW fragrances.

Awful. There’s something in it that’s super powerful and over the top and I couldn’t stand it.

Was it musk-with-gardenia, or gardenia-with-musk? The “sensual” floral of Karen Walker’s collection, on me this dried down with a little too much musk. Definitely one for the evening, though wearable for work – just barely. We were trying all the Karen Walker fragrances at once and this was indeed our C listing in the rotation. According to sales it’s the most popular one in Christchurch – maybe because it’s the most tradionally perfumy of the bunch?
