Description

Playboy is expanding its collection dedicated to the world’s major cities and urban life with a new scent Playboy Berlin. The new fragrance is exciting, dynamic and virile, devoted to clubbers and fully inspired by the European center of electronic music and party scene. Berlin is a city that never sleeps; the city of extremely urban culture, underground and exclusive clubs and crazy electronic parties.

The composition opens with sparkling notes of icy gin, orange and spices, embodying the energy and strength. Its heart is dominated by fruity notes of apples and cranberries, blended with the accords of geranium. The base is woody and musky, made of moss, sandalwood, and ambrette seed.

The fragrance is available as 50 ml Eau de Toilette, 100 ml After Shave Lotion and 150 ml Deodorant.

Berlin was launched in 2012. Berlin was created by Lucas Sieuzac and Nathalie Feisthauer.

Nice, green and sweet! This is a real good party and going out scent and more for the younger crowd. Teens, 20’s and 30’s can wear this easily. I give this an 8.7/10

I was expecting fruit and gin with a spicy wood heart, as most reviewers seemed to get that, but instead I got waxy sprite/lemonlime from the ‘gin’ note, with crisp herbals and a nice fruit citrus backing. The waxy note ruined it, though, and it dried down to smell like a faintly herbal tonka scented candle with spiky wood notes. Not good on me, and while I realize this is formulated for men and I’m female, I have successfully and lovingly worn many male scents. This won’t be one of them.

Imagine a perfect blending of YSL’s ‘L’Homme’ and Kenneth Cole’s ‘Reaction’ and you’ll get a good idea of what Playboy Berlin smells like.
Now imagine this great blend lasting longer than either of those on their own.
The best part is that you can find this wonderful scent for usually under $15.
I have sampled eleven of Playboy’s 15 fragrances for men, and this one is hands-down their best offering.
Easily one of THE best bargains in mens fragrances.
This one has about 7 hours longevity, with 4 of them projecting quite strongly.
Grab a couple of bottles of this if you get the chance.
    You won’t regret it.

This is the best playboy I’ve smelled out of the 4 or 5 I’ve been able to try.
It opens with juicy “reddish” fruits, and it is sweet without being cloying. Soon after, a leathery cherry pie accord strikes me. Leather-cherry-pie? Yes, that’s what I smell! It smells sweet, “red” fruity, a nuance of leather, and calmly gourmand-ish.
After a while, the dry-down gives us a diet Dior Sauvage/ambroxan accord with juicy, tart cherry pie filling + leather combo.
I need to buy the bodyspray and bodywash of this! Yum-O!
    My new favorite cheapie!

So I tried this today and so far so good !
I believe what this scent was trying to do is make there own version of the mass marketed sweet, fruity scents like Polo Red,invictus, eros and scents like that.
To my nose this opens up with a sweet, dark, fruity smell that in the opening it smells like a darker version of Polo Red. However once this dries down it doesn’t smell exactly like but it does remind me a lot of a less potent version of Dior Sauvage.
All in all this is a pretty decent scent and yet another scent from this line that smells WAY more expensive than it really is and I can see women really liking this and it getting compliments for sure.
Performance on this was decent as well… it lasted me 6 hours but unfortunately the silage and projection aren’t that great.
    Overall rating— 6.5 out of 10 !
Good scent but not really 1 that stands out and performance could be better

I love Invictus and One Million Cologne, people should wear the scents they like but not bathe in them. Male or female are only marketing pointers, wear proudly what you love, just don’t bathe in it.

Is it odd that I would like to try this? Ladies? What do you think?

Nothing says “Berlin” like cranberries, eh?

Been keeping my eyes open to get this one at “super cheapo” prices and eventually got lucky! It’s well balanced and the fruitiness is quite pleasant (I usually dislike anything but weak fruit notes). It’s not too sweet either. The wood note seems to be incorporated into the amber, so perhaps “woody/amber” type aroma chemicals were used in abundance here. However, I don’t find it “screechy,” as someone else said (it’s not metallic either), though it’s certainly not “niche quality.” Strength seems at least good, though I just did a dab sampling. This is yet another “super cheapo” I’d rather wear than so many recent designers, which often have what might be best called “aroma chemical overload.” There are no “sharp edges” on this one, and it’s very versatile.
UPDATE: Two sprays to the chest this time. I only get a hint of a sandalwood note, and nothing I can detect as geranium. The fruit, gin, and spices are there, nicely blended, and the wood is more “structural” than textural here. There’s the slightest hint of sweetness and a little muskiness, perhaps from the ambrette. It’s not syrupy but some might say creamy – to me it’s better described as smooth than creamy. I don’t get any lavender, so if you are seeking a “masculine” without it, this might work for you. I wouldn’t wear this in very cold weather but otherwise it should work well, and some women may want to consider it, though I’d call it “slightly masculine.” I don’t get anything “synthetic” here. An incredible bargain at the price I obtained it for but of course if you are a niche person and don’t wear “cheapos” then you probably won’t wear this one, though might ask, why are you reading this review?
UPDATE #2: Several hours in and it has a touch of an “old school” quality, but without strong lavender (if any). I now get a hint of wood, along with a bit of geranium and perhaps there is tree moss or something giving it this “mature” quality. I get a bit of vanilla-tinged musk too.
UPDATE #3: If you want a lighter “ambroxan scent” than Sauvage this may be something to sample, though to me that one has an obvious marine type of element whereas this one does not.

On my skin this reads as apple, sandalwood, and musk. A bit of that all too familiar screechy-synthetic vibe going on but this seems to happen to me more than others when fruity notes are involved. It isn’t exactly unpleasant per se but I’m not enjoying wearing it. Sillage is fairly mild.

It is very similar in the dry down to Hypnôse Homme from Lancôme, lasts much longer but is much cheaper. Smells like dry hay in the end and the longevity is over expectations. Absolutely a bargain.

Admittedly I went for it because I thought I would get the fruit notes. I got it this Christmas, and I found that if one is looking for a fresh fragrance, this might not be as fresh as one would think. I got the sandalwood, spice and musk part of the scent. Sadly, this time I wore it the citrus and fruits were lost upon me. Something fresh that I find works is Driven by Derek Jeter, but in the woody musk department it is a nice addition. I’m definitely wearing it.
I’m so glad I got a chance to nab this stuff, but to my knowledge getting it online is ur best bet. Playboy doesn’t even have Berlin on its site, so it is a hidden gem. Not as worth the dig as my other colognes, sadly, but it is still very delightful and my friends did compliment the scent.

I’ve found it surprisingly soon on Xmas Sale in Rossmann today.
There wasn’t tester so I bought it blind.
Arriving to work I immediately tried Playboy Berlin with co-workers 🙂
Everybody found it extra fresh and cool, pleasant scent.
Cool in meaning :it is more for summer and hot days.
The opening is very invigorating apple+juniper-effect (gin?) with some orange and more cranberry (I love it :). After 10 minutes Berlin became lighter and more spicey with herbal tones.
The drydown seemed very familiar..and yes ,it is almost exactly like Givenchy Very Irresistible Fresh Attitude Summer Sorbet. Cool and very close to the skin and will be perfect for summer.
There will be good to mix them 🙂

it seems to be extremely fruity, i hope the gin actually has a strong part in this composition but i must admit it looks interesting
