Description

Baraja” is the dialectal name of a bewildering alpine savannah, both puzzling and fascinating where time seems to have stood still for millennia and nature has followed its course undisturbed. “Baraja” by Acqua di Biella is inspired by this unbounded plateau surrounded by the Alps where heather and juniper grow in abundance, where the sun and rain open deep cracks in the earth but which the fine weather floods with narcissi. It is one of the rare places in which the unconquered sense of nature can be felt, with its intense aroma of humus, the inimitable ochre tones and its overwhelming silence.

Baraja is spicy and woody fragrance with citrusy notes of lemon, citron and lime in the top, spicy floral heart composed of cardamom, cumin, cinnamon, nutmeg and iris, and a delicate and warm base of woods and amber.

It comes in simply lined, but elegant 100ml (3.4 oz.fl.) bottle with reseda label with its name and, of course, the coat of Savoia.
The perfume was launched in 2002.
The nose behind this fragrance is Maurizio Cerizza.

first sniff and I immediately was reminded of Bijan Nude Men without the musk, which is a great summer scent as well, but costs only $8 lol. Not the same note breakdown but similar impression. Sniff it out for yourself 😉

I expected the usual blast of wood and spices and was pleasantly surprised. This was a subtle breeze of lemon-lime cedar, trailed by a whiff of caraway and cinnamon. This is not a scent that tries to bash you over the head but rather charm and entice. This is a grove of lemon and lime trees, full of sunshine, with leaves littering the ground and devolving back into the soil.
Definitely more masculine than feminine to me, this also smells youthful to me. I picture a sophisticated, urban, twenty something guy who appreciates good clothes, always sports a good haircut, and prefers not to smell like everyone else. Polished, charming, with an easy smile and wonderful self-confidence.
This does get a little sweet smelling in the dry-down but still a charming, wonderfully gentle woody scent.

Really good quality cologne with a twist. Will be best suited for males as it has a very distinct masculine tone all trough the scent.
The opening was very refreshing, almost sparkling, I got loads of lime and lemon accomponied with almost clean spices. The drydown is filled with earthy vetiver and cedar, a bit cloying, but nevertheless very enjoyable. This would be perfectly suited for a well groomed gentelmen in hot summer days.
Silage mediocre and staying power for this type of scent very good – around 8 hours. Very versatile and easily worn all trough the day in most occasions. Def. worth a try for those who seek a good quality italian cologne for their everyday use. Sophisticated and pleasing.

It DOES smell like TIDE! In a good way. It’s giving me hope that summer is really coming back some day.

As fresh as a day at the beach or a hike in the Sierras. Baraja is a spicy citrus scent that opens to the tune of dried orange and lemon peel, then morphs into a spicy, arid and crisp heart. Though the fragrance is not ozonic, there’s something refreshingly dry and breezy about Baraja. Its middle is reminiscent of TIDE laundry detergent, and much about this fragrance evokes laundry drying in fresh air. It’s quite compelling, and the polar opposite of the usual heavy hitting Orientals that I am drawn to. Simply terrific!
