Great opening, smooth, soft, milky drydown, good longevity (8 hours), but the sillage is a joke. After 4-5 heavy sprays I got only 30 minutes, thereafter the scent calms down and become a skin close scent… The opening is great, you can smell all of the notes, the lemon with the spicy-sweet cardamon and with the dill is very nice, clean and refreshing. Thereafter I waited the sandalwood, but I got a hardcore menthol/camphor odor. Hell, I don’t know what is this, but got the same odor, when I smell Gucci by Gucci. So, I got 15-20 minutes strong minty note, but this fades away and reamins only the milky sandal. 1.5-2 hours later in the dry down I get a smooth musk, but the sandalwood is still sensible. Good conception, very safe and versatile perfume, but the mid and the base note is very very weak. This is the reason why I put this stuff in the dislike category.
    – spring/summer/fall, daytime scent, very versatile
    – sillage is very poor, longevity is 8 hours
    – safe blind buy
    Scent (open, top-mid): 7/10 (x2)
    Scent (drydown, base): 7/10 (x2)
    Sillage: 3/10
    Longevity: 8/10
    Uniqueness: 7/10
    Versatility: 8/10
    Total: 6.75/10

    @hsuru4u
Watercress is a very peppery plant, that note seems to feature prominently here.

Very, very generic, shame. Low budget. Synthetic. A sweet nebula with a vaguely peppery character. This must be what a cheap sandalwood accord smells like. Nothing explosive about this fragrance. Won’t startle anybody.

Because it still smells peppery anyway?
    It’s not rocket science lol.

Love this, i bought it for my brothers birthday.
To me its one of the nicest and different fragrances I’ve tried for men
Its peppery and smooth but not like your typical peppery fragrance.
There is a touch of greenness in this which works well.
    Definitely a young fragrance

Okay so this arrived in the mail a couple of days ago. It is only my 2nd fragrance from this house…the first being the original Bang that I got 2 weeks ago at a TJ Maxx.
MUCHHHH improved over the original Bang.
It’s still somewhat peppery but not the actual smell of pure pepper like that one was.
This is basically the much more well-rounded, and much smoother version of the original. It’s much more versatile also. The original was just so distinctive and peppery, almost sneeze-inducing. This one is not. It also is slightly sweet but not a lot. This one was much more…well done shall I say.
Smells a tad sweet, mostly woody but like I said, it’s very smooth. Almost relaxing compared to the original. It basically smells like some woods notes and I can deff smell some lemon or citrus notes in this as well. But it’s a very well done and pleasing combination! I like it a lot!
    Scent Itself – 8/10
Longevity – I get about 5 hours out of this one. 6 if I use a couple extra sprays.
Projection – The perfect amount of projection. Not room-filling and not a skin scent. Projects about 3 feet.
    Overall Rating – 8/10
STRONG like for this one! Thumbs up for Marc Jacobs!

I just recently bought and reviewed the original Bang.
Ordered the 1.7 ounce bottle of this one on Ebay and it just shipped today. Will update in a couple of days when I open and use it. 🙂
I’m excited based on the reviews already posted of this one.

I know that the name borders on absurd but the actual scent is quite a charmer! I mainly bought this because of the dill and sandalwood note but was (initially) disappointed because it lacked the certain depth and richness that I had long associated with a sandalwood centric composition. I soon learned to view this as an aromatic woodscent, and that’s when I fell in love with it. There is a beautiful dill and mint note mixed with a touch of black pepper that lasts mere seconds before unleashing a crisp and airy sandalwood and cedar note that lasts from beginning to end in the fume. Many hours later, the fume takes on a more human skin quality with an oil note mixed with the sandalwood and an ever growing presence of musk. This fume is one that grows and shrinks in volume with temperature – the scent itself doesn’t change much just the presence. It is relatively simple on composition but it is still quite an enjoyable scent – especially for the price it’s going for these days! I sincerely hope you all are experiencing less chaos and ineptitude in your work lives and enjoying the simple things (and good scents) in life!

Hard to pick out the notes in this one, but sandalwood is definitely the basis for this very pleasant creamy fragrance. The opening is a modern smell citrus which does have a hint of pepper but that’s more spice from the sandalwood rather than being anything like the original bang. Another noticable difference is that BB lasts quite a while if retreating to a mellow skin scent quickly, I can still smell it a good 6 hours later. I actually really like this as I do with the original but I’m always reluctant to buy because of the poor longevity but in terms of creativity this one is just as innovative and likeable as the pepper bomb. I might well add this to my collection.

First off, I love the original BANG. To me it smells of dirt and gunpowder and I mean that in the best possible way. Its fresh but dry, earthy and unique and not sweet at all. Peppery and Uber masculine too.
I first tried BANG BANG at the airport and my first reaction was: It’s so different from the original. Didn’t think much until my friends picked me up and couldn’t stop raving about how good I smelled. Note taken.
A year later and I found a killer deal on eBay for a tester. I hoped I liked it as I couldn’t recall what it smelled like.
    First sniff: LOVE
BANG BANG is initially fresh and almost mentholish. The dry down is softly spiced with a clean modern edge. Mellow but it will attract attention. Id say its slightly more towards formal and business appropriate, but it can work as a casual scent too. It’s Uber masculine just like the original.
BOND No. 9 Sandalwood has similar notes: sandalwood, musk, cardamon and papyrus instead of watercress. BANG BANG could be an EDT version, lighter, better behaved and more user friendly (and a fraction of the price!). They both have that distinct mentholish sandalwood note, they run pretty close.
All in all a very good scent. If you haven’t tried it, give it a shot.

As much as I loved the original one I was disappointed with this one. It’s totally common and boring scent. Kinda fresh, sporty with weak sillage.

  12. :

    3 out of 5

This is a very unique fragrance. Its the black pepper that makes this scent so appealing. I don’t wear this fragrance often. But when I do I usually get compliments. Women seem to like this.
Silage is very strong in my opinion. I prefer perfume to be closer to the body. Don’t spray to much.
    When to wear? Evening!

  13. :

    5 out of 5

I have to say this is pure freshness, there’s no other choice to clean, you need this as a basic product. This is not spicy at all, and the volume used is not dangerous, you can use a looooot and still being classy.

  14. :

I had smelled it on a friend and it blew my mind.I cant wait to buy it and wear it.!!!! 🙂 🙂

First spray like lemon cologne with sandalwood, When dry down, just like sweet but woody incense.
Nearly similar with gucci rush, to much sandalwood and musk.
    Woody smell and nothing extreme.
    longevity: 6.5/10
    Sillage: 5/10

  16. :

I sadly tried this today, and all I can say is yuck, it is really nasty, unpleasant sandalwood. Spicy in a nasty way like Opium, kind of fragrance you’d move if a guy wearing it sat next to you on a train

I love Mark Jacobs – BANG: classy, sexy, sweet, woody, minty, fresh, clean, warm, spicy, SANDALWOOD
    On me:
The opening, fresh “minty”, citrus, sandalwood, 2 hours lather BANG starts loosing projection sandalwood with a little bit of spice (cardamon & pepper?), by the end of its life (8 hours lather) BANG-BANG went from fresh to warm, woody, creamy, sweet sandalwood.
Funny story of how I got this:
I bough this a while ago, as a matter of fact I had to do some bartering with the manager…. they only had 2x50ml bottles left at $49.95ea and a 100ml tester bottle ($59.95 usually for 100ml), the man will not sell me the tester bottle! about 90ml left on tester, and i was willing to pay full price for it, instead he insisted on selling me the 2 small bottles and he would gift me some random bonus travel bag… I ended up getting the last 2x50ml bottles and the tester for $89, the man was furious because because he had to give up the tester bottle. Its funny, the sales girls were trying not to laugh

This is a very good one!!!!. I like the original, but have to admit is too spicy and earthy, and does not last long.
Bang Bang is different, opens very fresh, almost minty. Then it becomes very musky, with a little bit of pepper and woods but in the background. Almost sweet, but not really.
Last over 8 hours on me, and projects very well. People like this one a lot!!!!. I guess e smell is so different from most of the ones out there, that they get intrigued.

I like it but not love it. I prefer the big brother of this that has much more originality in my opinion. An interesting perfume though that performes much more time on clothes than on skin.

tried this at a local store the other day and wow! the opening smells like raw cannabis… with some kind of sweet undertone! Very surprised!

  21. :

    5 out of 5

It’s sandalwood through and through. I can also smell cardamon in it. It’s a very woody scent uncommon to designer frags. I really appreciate the approach it took , so when i saw a 3.4oz bottle on sales for $28, i had to grab it.

  22. :

    5 out of 5

I’ve somehow gone off this one since buying it in January.
Maybe it’s a winter frag that transports better through cold air, but I’ve worn it on a bright/cloudy Autumn day today and feel like it’s an overpowering woody-spice that’s following me around and won’t go away.
Applied as four sprays onto lower and mid back, so perhaps a spray or two too many.

  23. :

I love the spicy-woody feel, but its a bit weak. don’t think I’ll b buying it again

I had a friend sample Bang & Bang Bang on either side of a sample strip, and after arguing that it’s the same scent, he assured me it was both. They smell very peppery indeed

Gerelli1970 – I’m pretty sure you must have tried original Bang which is a black pepper bomb.

    Such a wonerful fragrance!
    I love it so much!
    Smell really sexy and fascinating.
Stunning combination of fresh lemon and spicy cardamom blend whit creamy sandalwood and clear musk!
they are very well belnd together and smell something like coconut.
but smell really classy and elegant.
the only problem is projection and longevity!
but no matter! I just enjoy from every breath and get energy from it.
    thank you marc jacobs.
and the bottle design is really cool.

An initially noble frag which has refinded cardamon, but soon goes close to the skin and ends up too smokey..
    I applied 6 heavy sprays
0 -1.5 hours – 6 inch projection. Quite classy and feels like natural ingredients, the cardamon is refined yet fresh and appealing and so dominant – this is well done and for a modern day masculine man who wears cut-suit and designer scarf. Dinner time and romantic fragrance. Ages 30 -38.
1.5 hours – 4 hours. 2 inch projection. This does not have the peppery and harsh hallmarks of the originl bang and is more appealing on the nose, cardamon still dominant
4 hours – 6 hours – close to skin and towards the end all resemblence of before has gone and this turns into an “oakmoss” like dishevelled smokey mess, awful drydown, shame…
Very good opening but fades soon and ends badly IMHO

  29. :

    5 out of 5

Less spicy and peppery than the first Bang. I like this in fact because it’s sweeter and last longer.
Perhaps the closest to this was Azzaro twin for men.
The only problem is the bottle shape is taken space to store.

I bought a gift set for myself which included a 50ml(1.7 FL OZ) EDT Spray, Hair & Body Wash 75ml & a Deodorant Stick 75g for £25 from The Perfume Shop. I thought it was a great deal. The scent is so woody and a bit of spicy smell but not to overpowered. This will be great for winter and even daily use, I use it sometimes before I go to sleep. lasts about 3-5 hours on my skin with around 3 sprays, it is a perfect combination of spice and wood which makes it a bit different than most fragrances on the market today, I wouldn’t really recommend to pay full price for this as you can find it for cheap online. And a great bottle design as-well, reminds me of ”HULK SMASH”.

  31. :

    3 out of 5

I tried this frag and it is a medium-end one, the smell is very spicy-peppery and it has an elegant dry down, on my skin it lasts for about 8 hours which is enough, after the first 4-5 it begins to stay close to skin. It projects, but not hard and overwhelming, it is a discrete and masculine scent, ladies will appreciate it if you wear it with the corresponding attitude. All in all, it is a medium-end scent, not a shouting one and suitable for occasions, office and date nights, but not for nights-out because it doesn-t last so long and doesn-t project strongly. If you like “shouting” perfumes like 1 million this one is not quite a good choice and also not suitable for a blind buy, some may find it too spicy and harsh.

  32. :

    5 out of 5

Lemon, sandalwood and musk, lasting minimum 10 hours. Very good longevity and projection on me!
Ragarding longevity. I tried Bang on my left and Bang Bang on my right hand. Bang was extremely close to the skin after max 1 hour and slowly disappeared. Bang Bang continued about 4-5 hours longer with moderate projection.

  33. :

    5 out of 5

Clean and an original take on ‘freshness’. Musk with caradamom. The sandalwood gives a little boost on freshness. The citrus is behind but give a nice sweet flavour to the fragrance. I received it as a gift and I love it !

  34. :

    3 out of 5

I purchased it a airport duty free as there really wasnt anything else that I liked or didnt already own.
It reminds me a great deal of Narcisco Rodriguez as its a combination of woody and citrus.
I like giving contempory fragrances a “go” as I tend to wear my old classics (Egoiste ,Jazz..etc..) and I feel dated..

  35. :

very nice musky scent which reminds a bit of gucci homme 2 ( because of the spices )

I was looking for summer fragrances.
Was thinking going for Guerlain EDT, but I asked the nice lady at the airport for something else.
I made a _big_ mistake. First notes were great, fresh coco/mint, but then it smelled like soap. My first and last Marc Jacobs.
Btw, the design of the bottle is horrible, what were they thinking?
    90USD down the toilet.
Unless you really like it and have tested it on your skin for a while, do not buy.

Bang Bang’s opening brings to the mind a bittersweet liqueur mixed with those minty (painkiller) medicated patches you stick on painful joints. Too bitter for my taste, and yet after seeing the main notes I was expecting something fresher. It fades very soon to a smooth musky note which is definitely masculine and if I may say so, inoffensive, which is good otherwise you’d risk a headache. Average.

  41. :

It’s quite same like Marc Jacobs Men to me. It was a little disappointed. Staying power is not so long like first Bang.

Anytime I see this fragrance on a shelf I can’t help myself from reading its name as Gang Bang, I’m sorry. Bang Bang, it’s called Bang Bang! Whatever…
I would classify Bang Bang as an attempt to compose a fresh “sandalwood” but considering the current restrictions on raw materials I sould probably say it results more like a sandalwood wannabe. That being said, Bang Bang is far from being interesting. Probably not as bad as the majority of modern masculines around yet extremely far from catching my attention.
Somewhat fresh, citrusy and woody with a remrakable amount of clean musk. As Luca Turin would say “pleasures written in six-point type”.
    Rating: 5.5-6/10

  43. :

surprisingly good, much better than Bang

  44. :

    5 out of 5

I really fell in love with Bang when it first came out, with its rich peppery woods and modern masculinity, so I guess I expected this flanker, Bang Bang, to be along the same lines as the original. I was quite surprised and impressed when I discovered that it was an entirely different composition, much sweeter than I’d ever imagined.
Bang Bang opens with soft, sugary lemon and a hint of spice. For the most part, the top notes exude an interesting sparkling crispness on the skin with a touch of green notes peeking through. At this point Bang Bang is intimate and subtle.
The heart makes way for more intense spiciness with the introduction of the cardamom note. However, the spices aren’t too full-blown here, partly due to a milky powderiness that tends to dominate the composition. The sweet, citrusy lemon accord thankfully remains.
The drydown becomes milkier and sweeter still, with sandalwood and musk concluding a rather unique fragrant experience. If anything, Bang Bang could be unisex, but it certainly wears well on a man. I would know seeming that I purchased this for my lover boy only last week.
My man loves sweet scents, and Bang Bang satisfies his cravings without making me nauseous in the process. The sillage while intimate, is in no way a reflection on the lasting strength, which was impressive to say the least.
For a bit of an aggressive bite, I’d choose Bang, but for something less in-your-face, Bang Bang does the job nicely.

  45. :

I totally agree with Bronstein’s review. Bang Bang isn’t anything special at all and, in my opinion, wouldn’t even be worth parting with a penny for. It’s marginally better than Bang) which I thought was absolutely VILE!) but that’s really not saying much. Oh, and the bottles to both Bang and Bang Bang are really horrible too!

Bang Bang….well named !!. Does just as it says. This fragrance is fresh powdery and peppery with a masculine edge. Got this as a Christmas gift and thought….I’ll hate this !….as I have specific tastes in what I like and don’t like. Absolutely love this; it’s me !!. A lot of people say it’s not as good as the original Bang….I have to disagree whole heartedly. The original ( Bang ) is for for the man over 50 in my opinion.Bang Bang is fresh ,modern and is an ageless fragrance. I normally wear Dior Homme, and Truth from Calvin Klien….Bang Bang is my favourite now…luv-it !!.

Got it! I enjoy it very much but it does not beat the original Bang for me. It does remind me of a million other things where the original does not. It’s still very nice and I love the bottle. I need the Bang and Bang Bang bottles in all the sizes! : )

I tried this at the airport and planned on writing this comment as soon as I got to my hotel room. So here I am writing this, but guess what?! I don’t remember anything about it except the sadalwood part. This is sad! (-_-) At least, I can say that the Bang Bang is no longer a black pepper steak seasoning. It’s a pleasant but very forgettable fragrance. It’s much more wearable to a lot of people. Kudo to Marc Jacobs for making this because it will probably outsells the original. Now, please release it to the public and I will looking for one t TJ Maxx very soon.

  51. :

Yet another one of these “modern”, but in fact generic male fragrances without anything worth mentioning. So, “Bang Bang” is the successor to “Bang”? How original, why should we care?
This will probably sell by the bucketload for no other reason than marketing. Anyone who reads these lines should be warned: don’t waste your money on this. Must be the least characteristic fragrance of the year.

this is what I am getting to my honey for this christmas. bottle is unique, the smell is manly, very woody, musky, spicy- oh, less spicy than the original bang- which makes it more attractive and ladies let me tell ya! your nose will feast.with its unique bottle and adorable scent, this will be a buy that you wont regret.

Almost equal to the D&G The One. But this one has a much more beautiful bottle. In fact, the bottles of Bang and Bang Bang are perhaps the coolest I’ve ever seen.
This is a fragrance with a pleasant smell.
It has good longevity and projection.
He loved having one Bang or Bang Bang.

  54. :

    4 out of 5

I have a soft spot for simple, warm, sensual woody compositions. Bang Bang went straight to my love-list.
I smelled it on a paper strip and instantly wanted to nuzzle it.
Soft woods, musk, lots of pepper and cardamon in the top notes. Nothing special maybe, but very well composed. Not too sweet or sharp, nothing stands out too much. A perfcet sphere.
Sillage and staying power aren’t very good.
I also agree with comments on this being similar to The One by D&G and Adventure by Davidoff.

  55. :

    5 out of 5

Pleasant warm and peppery tones – particularly on the top notes, but thankfully less in your face and one-dimensional than its brother ‘BANG’. It reminded me of ‘The One’ pour homme by D&G, I would buy, however it’s appearance was only fleeting (about 2 hours)!

  56. :

    5 out of 5

Definitely those who wait for something fresh or different from the regular Bang will be disappointed. Bang Bang is again peppery, but if Bang was a simple combination of pepper and woods, this one is richer in the point of other spices and soft fruits. Bang Bang to me is a drier variation of John Varvatos cologne (yeah, they are very similar). Maybe Bang Bang is a bit more interesting than its predecessor, though I don’t see a need to buy the new fragrance if you already have Bang. The longevity is still very poor.

  57. :

    4 out of 5

Much better than the original. To my nose, the opening is very nice but the dry down smells very similar to Davidoff Champion….ummm….not good.

  58. :

    4 out of 5

Nice scent, particularly love the black pepper accord which adds real richness and warmth when sprayed on the skin. It’s not a headturner by any accounts but will attract attention

  59. :

Much better than previous one, and very different. Smells average, I would not brand it with his name though, disgrace.
    4/10

  60. :

    4 out of 5

The opening is musky and mossy. And then it evolves into something like Le Male, and a very dusty one. It’s not bad, but just not my kind of scent.
For a similar complexion and structure, I would recommend Lalique Encre Noire, which in my opinion is much more elegant.
That being said, I do like this better than the original Bang. And the lasting power is also better than the original.

  61. :

    4 out of 5

I tried this today and it is so much better than the original. It has more energy in the opening and dries down very similar to Celine fever. If I can find this cheap I think I’ll purchase this.
