Very fresh scent: perfect balance with the citruses and the soft woody notes.
Better than the original Code IMO.

269$ on ebay wow. Talk about supply and demand lol.
I miss wearing it though, it’s a masterpiece in my opinion.

Not an original smell but definitely superior to the original in term of the beauty of the smell itself. The intensive mint in the original ruined it for me.
This is a textbook “sporty” fragrance; fresh & citrusy.
Good sillage & longevity, & the smell being done just right that it doesn’t hurt your nose makes it a fantastic go-to to those in the market for a fresh, clean, or/& sporty fragrance.
RIYL: Original Code Sport, Issey Myiaky Pour Homme Sport, Armani Acqua Di Gio…etc.

Just revisiting this Armani gem today. Truly the best mint/citrus scent that I’ve had the pleasure of trying. To my nose, this is a much improved and more wearable/enjoyable version of original Code Sport.
The balance of the mint and citrus is superb here, vs. the original that was a little rough around the edges for my liking. I kind of get the comparisons with the 2008 Dior Sport reference….except that the ginger is cut WAY back in this, which I really appreciate.;)
Normally I’m got a big ginger or vetiver fan, but the blending of this juice is so great and the focus is mostly on the mint.(and citrus) All the components come together lovely. The only real fault I can find in it, it that it is very linear….but hey, that’s the case with most “summer” scents anyway.
Also this frag has some serious legs in the longevity and projection depts….no weak summer juice here! 3-4 sprays and I’m set, smelling uber fresh for a whole work day.
Oh yeah, one more thing. Since this juice was a limited 2012 release, prices spiked on it big time a couple of years back. But lately there has been quite a few new bottles for the normal retail price of $60-70. So not sure if a bunch of old stock was found, or if they started to produce it again? But either way, if your a fan of long lasting/well done mint/citrus scents….pick up a bottle(or 2:)before this juice disappears for good!

I was feeling everything every time I sprayed it on my skin. One of the best men’s perfume. I didn’t mind with its poor longevity.
    10/10

Very nice, refreshing, mint/lemony scent! Recommended for all ages, you can wear to casual events or even formals, if daytime. Seasons: Summer and Spring.

This is very similar to the older version of dior homme sport (which has been reformulated). Poor longevity and sillage, unfortunately.

Hey, I really appreciate the good reviews here, guys! I have a 30ml Code Sport with me and wanted a second bottle and found this Code Sport Athelete instead. And it was even cheaper than the original CS! I only tested once but I can tell that it has a good minty-citrus going and maybe the ginger’s a bit toned down on this version? This composition of notes may have been done many times over, idk, but this is exactly what I wanted, my second bottle of Code Sport. and I think I hit a jackpot! I can’t wait to spray me some more and read all the reviews on this beauty.

I really like it, as i smelled my two first sprays today.
After reading all these reviews here, i was expecting to come across a ‘niche type’ fragrance. I didn’ t say “WOW” at 10:00 in the morning, when the courrier brought it to me, but i said so after 12 hours, in midnight (when i smelled my arm again, right before entering bath…). All i want to say, is that this fragrance shows the serious work that has been done at the backstage, by staying at the same time so easily wearable and beautifully complex during the day. But we have always to remember here, that the key to every scent is to match the chemistry of each individual skin…I am 100% sure that every new day from now on – and untill it will be gone – i ‘ll start to appreciate this juice more & more!

This one is amazing. Extremely addictive. Who blended this is so creative. When i had a bottle of this, i couldn’t stop loving it. Refreshing, energizing, cool… The best sport perfume I have ever come across.

I agree with Buysblind user. If you-find Athlete Code worth trying. One of the few Sport aromas with good longevity and decent. Citrus and mint pretty nice on my nose. I got 2 bottles and I use for a long time because it is 2012 and we are in 2015. Too bad it be hard to FIND. Excellent scent summer! Thumbs up!

If you can still find this for a reasonable price, it would be a good idea to get it while you can. Armani Code Sport Athlete is the best designer citrus/mint fragrance around. Other significant notes include ginger and a mild, well-done vetiver in the dry down. This is sharp, bright and invigorating, and a significant improvement from Armani Code Sport. It feels light and crisp, but there’s nothing thin or insubstantial about it. Projection is very good, and for a citrus fragrance the longevity is awesome. It lasts all day. Code Sport Athlete is an easy wear any time of the year, but it really shines in the summer. Next to Selection Verte, this is my go-to fragrance when I want something with mint and citrus fruits. Definitely worth hunting down for the right price and a completely safe blind buy.
EDIT: Forgot to mention Guerlain Homme L’Eau too, which I like a little more. But either way, this is still really good stuff!

Giorgio Armani was the designer of the Olympic Team for the 2012 Games, in London. Such inspiration has made that the owner of the Armani Empire released another sportive fragrance, honoring athletes. And this time, he hit the nail on the head!
Sharing most of the notes from the previous release – Code Sport – from 2011, and just changing how they were employed in the olfactory pyramid, it was possible to get a stunning result. This time, the fragrance opens with citrus, pink pepper and ginger. In the heart, the same 3 types of Mint from the previous version: wild mint, spearmint and peppermint, besides aquatic notes. Finally, at the base, notes of incense, vetiver and ambrox.
The result is exquisite. Forget the sportive versions that you know, because this one has not the generic output or the synthetic aroma of great part of them, even though we have to admit that the Sport fragrances are getting better, more and more.
In this version dedicated to athletes, the citric aroma, combined with the burnt aspect of the ginger, denotes the quality of the time and the money invested in this creation. It’s so natural and tasteful that could perfectly be in a bottle of Italian niche, because it would be the same. Not to mention that 2 single sprays are enough to project very well. And the lasting is also not bad, quite the contrary. Even after the fragrance gets calm, when the projection decreases, the scent still remains on the skin.
I don’t know if the box is still the same, but when this fragrance was released on the market, it used to bring the inscription “Eau de Toilette Fraiche”. Particularly, although I understand the concept, I think it could have been released as Armani Code Fraiche, without mentioning the term Sport.
Finally, it is worth saying that most users who know both versions, praise much more this one. So, if you love refreshing and quality scents, forget the term Sport and buy a bottle of this wonder. You won’t regret it!
With respect to the bottle, the visual identity was kept, but the glass was not painted, revealing the blueish-green liquid.

There is something about this scent that is very soothing and zesty as i find myself reaching for it every time i “don’t know what to wear”. Next thing you know my bottle is almost empty and i HAD to buy a backup bottle.
Smell: Zesty smooth effervescent citruses (and surprisingly very natural smelling), comforting mint (without the wrigley vibe!), a careful dose of ginger in the mix and a surprising large chunk of vetiver showing up in the base.
Performance: Longevity is easily 10 hours on my perfume consuming skin which is almost unheard of with any citrus scent i tried so far. Nevertheless, over-applying is a non issue as you can literally bathe in this and it will stay VERY smooth.
Discontinued, but many small independent shops still carry it or can manage to get it if you ask them (i suspect some of them are ebay sellers as well), as i think there are still plenty of leftovers remaining in wholesale warehouses.
This is a smooth dependable workhorse in my collection and a true underrated gem.
I will never be without a bottle as long as it’s still available.

Before I go on, I should mention I’ve previously owned Dior Homme Sport (original), which I’ve just sold because something about the dry down got very annoying. So I was in the market for a new summer scent…
During my quest I sampled a lot of popular summer scents like Allure Homme Sport, Allure Eau Extreme, Allure Blanche, D&G Light Blue, Chanel Bleu, Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche, Dior Homme Eau, Dior Cologne (new version), Platinum Egoiste, Creed Aventus, Code Sport, L’eau D’Issey etc.
Out of the lot I quite liked Code Sport and L’eau D’Issey, so whilst reading the reviews on this website it naturally led me to Athlete. Although I couldn’t sample Athlete because it was no longer available in Boots or Debenhams, I was curious to try it because of all the hype on this very website. So I went for it and blindly purchased online via Escentual hoping that I hadn’t made a really big mistake. Heck, I got a free Armani bag with it, so it was worth a punt. Thankfully, I really, really like it. Phew!
So how does it smell – I get a lovely sort of quality lemonade vibe which is wonderful, very classy but inoffensive at the same time. It certainly has something a bit more special about it than some of the heavier scents I tried, like the Chanel Allure line, or DHS/Aqua Di Gio. Its kinda sparkly when you get a fleeting sniff of it on your clothes, where it tends to sit for a long time (on my shirt collars for example). On my skin, it lasts for about as long as I’d like – most of the working day. It’s mostly undetectable by the time I get home, which for me is good because I hate lounging around the house smelling of cologne dry down.
I’m one of those people that can get overpowered and fed up of smells after a while (can’t you tell), so I tend to spray the back of my neck so that it’s not in my face all day. I use 3 or 4 sprays of this as it is quite subtle, and I get a lovely waft from time to time when I move around. I assume others may be able to detect my sillage faintly, but no one has mentioned it apart from my wife. Sometimes it’s nicer to be discreet I think. I think this is a classy scent that can be worn anytime anywhere really.
To finish, I note some people compare Athlete to Dior Cologne (new version) and some to the original DHS, but to me there is no comparison between them. Athlete is like a sparkling, sweet lemonade. Whereas Dior Homme Cologne and DHS both generally have the same kind of pure lemon vibe about them (despite not having the same ingredients in the note pyramid – surprisingly, every subtle nuance of DHS is present in the Dior Cologne sample bottle I tried, all the way to the annoying dry down. If you’re trying to find the original DHS, then Dior Cologne may be what you are looking for).
Anyway, back on topic – if you can find it, Armani Code Sport Athlete is well worth a sniff!

This fragrance is Amazing. I must admit I blind bought this after reading all these positive reviews. Longevity is great Im getting 8hours + on my skin. The dry down reminded me of Bleu de Chanel. This is definitely a good summer frag.

Before I give my review on this fragrance, my biggest pet peeve is after testing a fragrance and you want to buy it, but you can’t because the retailer discontinued it and they couldn’t be bothered to pull it off the shelve. After searching around I finally found this fragrance.
    Now about the fragrance,
After spraying it on my skin I enjoy the opening notes of citrus/minty note as well a sharp spicy note of pepper/ginger giving it a real sharp clean aroma. After it settles I could still smell the spicy notes with a hint of vetiver giving it an overall a cool pleasing vib. The only two notes I can’t detect is water note and barely incense. Incense is a smokey/woodsy note found in a winter frag and at a Catholic church. This fragrance doesn’t have that aroma!!!! In fact I find it more FRESH/CLEAN juice.
Longevity and Silage is excellent on my skin lasting over 6hrs which is perfect during the summer months.
    Overall thoughts,
I don’t normally buy sporty frag’s because they lack depth and the notes tend to be watered down. In my opinion this fragrance is definitely not weak in aroma and longevity. I enjoy using this juice during the summer 7/10…..⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.
I definitely recommend it as a summer/fall fragrance if you can find it!!!!!!

The comparison to Dior Homme Cologne turned me on to this especially as I was a little underwhelmed by the latter. This is a glorious summer scent and could probably be used for casual wear year round. Very fresh with citrus and mint notes, well blended with woody notes on dry down so lasts longer than most summer scents. Reminds me of l’eau d’issey but less spicy. Lovely

This is love at first sniff for me. Bought it blind buy coz so many vote about it’s similiarity to Dior Homme Cologne. Since i love Dior Homme Cologne, i bought this blind buy, and i ain’t no regret. This is the most beautiful fragrance from Armani house. I love love love this one!!!!

A beautiful spring day in a bottle!
This is an all year fragrance, but shines in spring the best because of its natural smelling mint note. So fresh and natural. Lemon and mint built perfectly.
Does it smell like Dior Homme Cologne?
Undoubtedly. I own both. They are very similar but accomplish very different impressions. This one performs way better and has something special about it. More clean, green, fresh, slightly more complex. I love it. I’ll be wearing this all spring this year.

An extremely refreshing, masculine, lemon-citrus frag which lasts a long time on the skin..
    I applied 6 heavy sprays
0 – 1 hours – 1.25 foot projection. Sharp bitter lemon – citrus which is well done, sexy and not synthetic. Very common place, IMHO better than Dior Hommer Sport as I find that frag a little artificial, however Azzaro Chrome Sport provides a little more refreshment than this Armani Athlete. I love this frag, it is perfect for when I have had little sleep and I need a sharp awakening to the day. I used 50ml in approx 3 weeks…during the sizzling July 2013 in London, it was a life saver during the boiling days of no air con in the office.
    1 hour – 2.5 hours – 6 inch projection
2.5 hours – 4.5 hours – 4 inch projection. Sadly the quality goes away, as a strange ginger-mint with smoke affect comes to the fore and takes away from the refreshing opening
4.5 hours – 6 hours – 2 inch projection. Becomes more lemony again and you get trails
6 hours – 10 hours. Close to skin.
A great Summer frag, so invigorating
I bought a replacement bottle as soon as Ii finished this
Armani Sport is now a distant memory in comparison to this
Projects and lasts all day on clothes
    Quality

Was lucky to find this at a bargain. When I held it for the first time I knew it meant business. Opening blast very citrus and sweet …lemons all the way. Love the vibe afterwards, smells so delicious and very long lasting, 2 sprays lasted me whole day.
I sprayed my wife once and she immediately fell in love with it, it was the first time I see her react that way. Few minutes later our daughter yelled “Mommy used your perfume again Daddy”
An hour later when I arrived at work Ireceived a text from my wife that read “I love the way I smell,I smell so expensive”
So there you go folks, this one is a killer!!!
By the way, I’m from South Africa!!!

Nice longevity, fresh, simple, almost unissex, very indicated for warm days. Its citric smell is similar to Brazilian Cherry fruit (Eugenia uniflora), also known as Pitanga, for those who know it. I don’t agree that CSA is similar to Dior Sport, which has stronger ginger, the same longevity and is more appealing.

  32. :

I couldn’t decide what to get at 1st, either this or the Ultimate.
In the end i purchased the Ultimate over this simply because of the longevity & projection i wanted from a fragrance.

Smells like Fruit Tingles and a dash of YSL L’Homme. I would not recommend this to older men.

The initial notes are also quite close to Eau Sauvage of Dior. Over time, GA Code Sport Athlete takes a different, more mysterious route.

  37. :

    3 out of 5

Armani’s Code Sport Athlete (CSA) reminds me a bit of the Aqua Di Parma Colone Assoluta, but Di Parma scent is a lot more complex and less lemony. CSA is very straightforward scent with a lot of lemon (which I like), could be a Ralph Lauren scent given the simplicity (RL Polo 1 is just plain grapefruit). Summery scent to be worn during the day on the beach boulevards of Nice 😉

  38. :

    5 out of 5

It’s just wonderful. It’s sport but not as classy like Dior Sport. Not for sports jacket. It blasts with fresh citruses and mint at beginning and after few hours vetiver + imbir. Similar to Code Sport but much more fresh. I love both of them but I picked that one as it is not popular at all opposite to Code Sport. Longevity and sillage very good.
You will get a lot of complements escpecially from girls under 30 y/o. Perfect summer scent.
    10/10
