Description

Mancera Parfums presents at ESXENCE in Milan a new fragrance in their characteristic flacon, in beautiful blue shades, iridescent from royal blue to light blue turquoise shades. The new perfume AOUD BLUE NOTES opens with citrusy notes, enriched with floral notes of the heart with a chypre twist, resting on warm, rich and deep shades of the base, with dominant scents of oud and leather.

Mancera Aoud Blue Notes starts with a citrusy union of bergamot, mandarin and Calabrian lemon, completed with fruity and green notes. The heart introduces floral accords of ylang-ylang, violet, rose and orris, spiced with earthy and woody shades of patchouli leaves. The base accentuates guaiac wood combined with sandalwood, while intense leather and amber provide warmth to the composition. Sensuality originates from the soft Madagascar vanilla.

Fragrance Aoud Blue Notes arrives 60 and 120 ml Eau de Parfum.
Aoud Blue Notes was launched in 2015. The nose behind this fragrance is Pierre Montale.

My first official Signature scent!! This juice is amazing..Truly personifies who I am..Powdery clean (ylang ylang violet), extreme depth (amber patchouli), with a mysterious edge (leather oud)!! I actually threw out some of my older lesser utilized fragrances after smelling this..I’ve decided I dont want anything in my arsenal that’s not on this level..That’s how amazing this stuff is..Performance is off the charts and although prior reviewers have stated sillage or projection is moderate I couldn’t disagree more!! I was actually coming out of an elevator & walked to my car, about 10 minutes later a guy walks up to my window and motioned me to lower it,I was a bit startled because this is NYC at like 4:00 in the a.m..I responded a little aggressive because I didnt know his intentions and he said with no shame I just had to find out what the hell is the name of that fragrance you’re wearing..lol I cracked up told him the full name as he input into his phone..I would say sillage is monstrous..Love this scent , it is my signature it’s now my theme smell..10 out of 10 in all categories and best in cooler weather..Mancera is changing the game frag lovers get on board theres numerous offerings to choose from.

An interesting mix of powdery, green, fruity sweetness. Not sure what’s “Blue” about it and there really isn’t any oud here except for a brief spark when first sprayed. The drydown reminds me just a little bit of Habit Rouge Sport with a bit more citrus and less rose. Modest projection but lasts all day.

    Hello,
This is really interesting scent, not such a high sillage in the drydown but overall pleasant and a bit powdery. I detect the sandalwood + guaiac wood combo that gives a bit the sweetnes + the fruity notes which are less proeminent as in “Cedrat Boisee”.
Overall a nice frag, not screaming for attention but discrete and long lasting because of the woody base. 8/10
P.S. There are similarities with Aoud Lime mint – they both own a woody base but the latter has a lot of oud which is quite heavy from top to base, while the Blue notes remains innocent and a bit sweety in the drydown.

The opening is fresh, fruity, and powdery. Now like many users have mentioned don’t be fooled by Aoud in the name because the aoud in here must be clean or very minimal.
After 1-2 hours the scent remains powdery and slightly more woody and the fruityness has almost disappeared. At this point though I have to say that the whole composition feels rather generic. Like a safe, fresh, run of the mill department store scent.
The performance is great in the beginning but quickly dies down to a skin scent. You can wear this pretty much anywhere, year round. Nice bottle.
    6/10

I am so glad I bought a sample.
It has a MAncera Aoud Café DNA, minus the coffee. While I do get a bit of oud in the opening and first hour, it dissapears quite quick and what is left is a base, same as Aoud Café. I have Cafe and I don’t need both.
The only BLUE is the color of the bottle, no aquatic notes…So misleading name and presentation. I don’t see any beauty with this scent, it feels to be quite ordinary.
    Try before you buy

I bought it today it is a summer fragrance to me, but what I say I love aquatic and sea notes, first of all don’t caught by the name there is no oud note here at all. the opening is citrusy, fruity, fresh, and aquatic like a blast of sea breeze, but all that subsides down by the woddy notes, amber, leather, patchouli after a twenty minutes or less depends on the amount of sprays, the drydown is pleasing I smell woddy, sweety notes like vanilla and fruit, and a little bit citrusy. so since it is Mancera that we are talking about it is known for its beast mode longevity and sillage, but for this one the longevity is weak to moderate, also sillage is soft to moderate maybe because most of the notes originally are not heavy or long lasting notes especially the citrusy notes.
    scent: 8/10
    longevity: 7/10
    sillage: 6/10
    overall: 8/10

Smells like pharmacy / hospital. I only got what it seems to smell like medicines, sterilizers like you can also smell in dentists.

Not bad and I disagree with the Aoud Lemon Mint comparisons. I distinctly get the leather and green notes along with a touch of sweetness and a subtle rose. Rather than a weaker version of Lemon Mint, I see this more as a weaker version of Epic Man (minus the incense).

It’s the weaker brother of Aoud lemon mint. I’ll be blasting through this bottle as it smells very nice but doesnt last . Aoud lemon mint is the one you want if you want to project and get noticed . Other than that they both smell the same .

this is very unique. on my skin the oud dominates and yet it is still fresh. this is truly a warm weather oud scent. its bright yet dark.
this is awesome for the summer heat. projection and longevity are good. for about 2 hours it projects like a beast but after that it slowly dies to a skin scent.
around the 7 hour mark its pretty much gone.
this is one i’ll keep in my collection. its masculine to my nose and very well done. slightly powdery, slightly fruity, but the oud is the star!
i just wish it had the performance i get with oud lemon mint which seems to never to away.
all in all i’d say 9/10

I didn’t like it the first time is smelled it. But few days later I spray it on my skin and I fell in love with it. The opening is very strong fruit notes and I know its the aoud that making it stronger. And it takes a while to settle down. Projection is very strong to my nose. one spray can fill the whole room . So I recommend not to overspray in one section. Two spray will last about 12 hours on my skin. Awesome performance. I really like the dry down which becomes less potent but still projecting. Its also a bit feminine to me I can detect slight of the leather but not strong. Another great fragrance by mancera. I think this can be an all season fragrance. Its strong and potent.

This smells a lot like PR Invinctus Aqua or Rasasi Hawas to me. It is loaded with that plasticity violet accord over a generic synthetic designer sort of base. It may catch the fancy of some as a value for money deal but for me it is not so interesting.

For me this fragrance Is a hit and a miss. It’s fruity, cooling, and quite full, which I believe is the amber and leather (although more of a suede). I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite but I’m definitely intrigued by it. this is a unisex fragrance, and due to the slight heaviness more nighttime.
It smells like a slurpee, or sangria – something fruity with a little edge to it. I can’t exactly put my finger on it. It’s almost like the perfect scent if you were out in the middle of a secluded area stargazing with that special someone. It’s warming, yet cool. Expansive, yet simple. Dreamy, yet still grounded.
For a Mancera, it’s projection is quite low at about 2 hours then quickly turns to a skin scent. The skin scent longevity is About 8-10 hours. I could see this being a compliment getter from women.
Overall I’d give it 7.5/10; although I could see it scoring higher once spring and summer roll around and I get to put it to the tests of life!

Though I like this fragrance and I agree with what has already been said concerning it becoming a “skin scent” after a couple of hours this fragrance is the younger, baby, brother to “Oudmazing” by Montale which has the longevity and sillage of LIFE!!! That being said there’s no reason for me to purchase this because of the 2 bottles of Oudmazing I have.
Fast forward… since I first posted this I have changed my mind after purchasing this and wearing it for a couple of months. It is very different than Oudmazing (though scent-wise they are in the same family) and the longevity and projection is about the same as Oudmazing and I love this frag more and more with each wearing.

Aoud Blue Notes is a great fragrance in my opinion. A little fruity, somewhat syrupy and sweet with a bit of musk in the mix from the Aoud. Although oud is not listed in the notes, you do detect a woodiness to this that gives an Oud-like quality.
In this there is lemon, rose, and patchouli in the opening!! The leather, sandalwood, and vanilla gives this a nice spicy freshness in the end.
Some may conclude this to be a bit like So Blue; not necessarily-So Blue remains fruity with a hint of musk….Aoud Blue Notes’ reminds me of Aoud Café’s drydown in its opening; this one has some fruit yet, the leather and musk combination causes this to be less fruity and more spicy in the end.
Another great fragrance from this house!!
    Projection: 8/10
    Sillage: 7.5/10
    Longevity: 8/10
    Overall: 9/10

Agree with several of the comments made. Really want to like this one the scent is different, cant claim if its unique but its fresh but unlike any mall frag i’ve smelled. Starts off Beast-Mode then goes flat after an hr on skin, don’t think I would want to spray on fabric due to the high oil concentration.
Like many have already said, starts off beast, then dies down to a pleasent skin scent. I guess it would make a great office scent for the early Fall.

Just received today. I find this really unique. It has a high concentration because my skin is glossy for 20 minutes after I spray it. It starts off with a beast mode projection blast of fruits and citrus along with ylang ylang. Sadly the fragrance dies down within an hour to a 3 inch projection. I bought this because I thought it would be strong and long lasting. I wanted to like it so much because the fragrance itself is amazing. This is the niche equivalent to dior sauvage, better blended, and somewhat generic with a twist of ylang uniqueness. I am just disappointed because I love the bottle and the fragrance, but it just doesn’t last. If people don’t smell me, then in my book I’ve wasted money. Great addition to your collection as liquid art though. If this lasted and projected like cedrat boise, then I would hype this to the max.
5 stars for uniqueness and overall scent
    2 stars for projection
    3 stars for longevity

Hi christianpc, You mention that Kelsy Berwin True Man is identical to Aoud Blue Notes Mancera? does Kelsy Berwin True Man list their notes on the box? I searched on the internet for notes and could not find any listing.

Purchased this a few months ago loved it’s uniqueness. After a heady oud blast it settles beautifully and is a semi light citrus and oud combo. However today I received a blind buy of kelsey berwin true man and it’s virtually identical, at a fraction of the price. If your not bothered by the mancera bottle grab kelsey

This perfume is somehow cool and very special.
    I like it a lot.
Opening is a blast of citrus. It is so strong it hits you like an electric flash.
After an hour it settles down and becomes more round. The citrus blast becomes more of a fruit nectar.
The oud is fresh and a bit smoky at the same time as all those mixed fruits are working in the background.
See that amber is listed on second place right after fruits but I can not detect it
Longevity is round 6-7 hours. After the first 3-4 it settles down to a skin scent.
My second oud purchase. I like my ouds fresh.
This one is fresh with a blast and i like it. It stands out.
Cool alternative perfume. Great if you are looking for something which stands out from the commercial crowd. .

Walks like an oriental, talks like an oriental, crafted like an oriental but ultimately, not really an oriental. Calling this an Aoud is a bit of a misnomer for the naming of the fragrance; maybe it was a ploy to sell bottles. The aforementioned shortcomings are well documented but it doesn’t deter this from being an enjoyable scent. Although i find this likable, it’s not for everyone. One must understand that there is a lot of iris involved in the making of this quasi-oriental. A little on the fanciful side, the real highlight of the composition is when you catch a waft of the juicy citrus notes. Luckily, the longevity suffices which allows you to enjoy the fruity notes in its vivacious glory. My skin wasn’t fortunate enough to receive the leather treatment. I can imagine it being a really good edition and a change of pace for all the swirling floral aromas. The base is nothing more than ghostly rendition of guaiac wood.

Tried this one out recently. I think it smells good. I dont have anything to deep to say about this one really. It definitely has some of that mancera fruityness+wood combo that they do in some of their fragrances that I smelled. And its pretty enjoyable. I dont feel compelled to by it, buts its a nice enough smell that I wouldnt complain if someone gave it to me. Hard to justify for the higher price of course, but its not a bad smell by any means.

This was the second Mancera sample I tried today and at the other end of the spectrum to So Blue.
First I should announce my non Oud/Aoud lover status. I do wonder if it’s the way western perfume houses have plunged headlong into an Oud Lagoon over recent years that has rendered Oud so unappealing to me. I suspect Oud is more harmoniously blended in eastern perfumes whereas I find it about as subtle as a sledgehammer in most cases, for me Oud is the Brian Blessed of perfume notes, OOOOuud!!! OOOOuuudd! It booms across the room affably clobbering any subtle fragrance, and the odd bystander, over the head with it’s potency. In fact I’m surprised there isn’t a perfume called ‘Blessed Oud’ I might yet create it 😉 !
So onto Aoud Blue Notes; on first spray I have my usual eye watering reaction to Oud, while the almost chewy resinous aromas of polished wood, camphor, menthol, leather and warm, dark molasses temporarily take my wrist hostage. After around 10 minutes further notes of caramel, sticky date, patchouli and sweet tobacco develop. Overall I imagine it the way a leather upholstered sauna might smell, skin, leather & sweet pine wood steaming with fresh eucalyptus and menthol thrown onto the coals while brawny men assiduously sweat in brooding silence.
Once the louder aromas have softened (a good hour or so) softer vanilla, ylang ylang and sandalwood aromas waft up from my skin, there is a hint of rose or maybe more like tuberose to me and dry chypre notes but an earthy, rooty orris and a savoury, sweaty edge stops Blue Notes turning into anything too feminine or gourmand. The medicinal-like menthol, camphor and patchouli triangle are still present but much further removed, blanketed by the warm vanilla, spiced up with some bergamot and citrus peel and now wrapped in fine quality, expensive suede. This could be distinctly appealing on a man’s skin, even on mine it’s actually quite nice but I wouldn’t be willing to weather the initial Oud storm to get there very often.
I’m not really sure what the ‘Blue Notes’ represent here, other than potentially the orris root and the imperceptible violet, when I sniff the bottle I get what could be called ‘aqueous’ men’s shower gel type nuances I guess, but more green than blue. When sprayed on a tissue the lemon, bergamot and neroli-like fragrances are more immediately apparent – but still the Oud takes them under quickly in it’s first burst.
All in all an interesting perfume, which is a great compliment from a non Ouder, with a soft beguiling amber, vanilla, suede and tobacco style dry down, after five hours the projection is very modest but distinctive. Not something I would readily wear, but I may suggest it to some suitably brawny male friends!
