Description

In spring 2014, Givenchy launches its new fragrance Ange ou Demon Le Secret Edition Croisiere, which is a limited edition of the original Ange ou Demon Le Secret from 2009 (re-launched in 2014). The new edition is a shimmering summery and exotic interpretation of the original.

The smell evokes sensuality of sun-kissed skin. It opens with notes of Italian lemon, neroli and jasmine, with tiare flower and salty accord in the heart. Amber and vanilla in the base evoke the scent of warm sand.

The bottle is colored in shades of bronze and decorated with floral ornaments. The fragrance is available as 50 ml Eau de Toilette.

Just a dull sweetness. Nothing uotstanding in this edition. Every
nuance fades quicly into sweet nothingness. Sadly no projection, no lastin power. Sad i didn’t buy simple le secret version. They have nothing in common.

    Really beautiful.
This opens with a sweet citrus that does indeed present a “salty” facet very quickly. Unlike the others from the “Elixir” series, I can still detect the original Ange ou Demon in here, which I really like.
The citrus is piquant, the flowers refined, well-balanced and potent, and the base sandy warm. This is a very wearable scent for the genre. I’ve tried it out on a few friends, all who said it was beautiful and felt relaxing and happy. What more to ask for from a beach perfume?

I love this! Such a pretty white floral. The scent makes me think of sunny summer days. Personally I feel that this fragrance sits close to the skin and doesn’t feel cloying at all, like some white florals do. I really don’t notice the lemon but I think the fragrance has a subtle sweetness to it.

IMO this is exactly ange ou demon le secret elixir in a different bottle. I’m doing a side by side comparison and i cannot convince myself that the two are different.

No orange flower? Really? I swear I can smell it in there somewhere… oh well, there are enough white florals in this lovely little number for sure.
Creamy jasmine flanked by sweet citrus dominates this perfume, and because of the creaminess it lacks the effervescence of the original Le Secret composition (pre-2014). I am getting some Elie Saab Le Parfum vibes, but this one isn’t as excruciatingly elegant. I’m not getting any saltiness on my skin at least. I feel like this perfume really shines when it melds with the scent of your own skin, like an enhancement of your natural smell, so don’t overspray and save it for the people that get close.

This was a blind buy. It was 50% off and had a couple of not so good reviews on the online store website but it was Givenchy and the reviews here were good so I bought it and as soon as I got and smelled it I said:”Damn! I wish I’d bought more!”. But the discount time was over. I love the smell. Mum does too and she’s hard to please. It stays about 4 maybe 5 hours and has good sillage on ME. If you’re into perfumes that people can smell you from 10 meters away this isn’t for you. This is chic, ladylike, graceful and serene. I like the glitter. The bottle is so beautiful. Looks magical.
10 days later 50% discount was back and I got two more bottles.

Very much similar to Ange ou Demon le Secret Elixir, although a bit lighter of a scent. I don’t really get the salt much, maybe barely there. Very pleasant white floral scent, as secret elixir is. So pretty and shimmery in bottle. It doesn’t spray out a ton of glitter, but it is definitely noticeable. I love secret elixir, and like this one.

Ok, so I ordered a bottle of this, mainly because I read it has a strong tiare note.
I got my bottle and immediately sprayed it on my hand … nothing. No tiare, no lemon, no jasmine, nothing. Like spraying water on my hand.
Since it’s a tester (didn’t come in a cellophane wrapped box or anything) maybe they will take it back.
Bummer. I was so excited about getting this.

This is definitely summer in a bottle! As mentioned previously, the liquid itself is shimmery in the bottle (but doesn’t really show up shimmery on the skin) and the bottle itself is a work of art.
I smell like a tropical island right now, and I’m loving it. This is a lovely ‘grown up’ tropical scent…no kool aid or fruity punch drinks here…just lovely rich ambery salty florals.
I’m a huge fan of the Ange ou Demon line from Givenchy, and this one does not disappoint (was a blind buy, as always!).
On first spray it is all about the neroli, tiare, and non-indolic jasmine. I almost get a sweet island breeze in the air as I’m spraying this one. The salt note is there, tangy on the skin, like you’ve been sun-warmed and maybe gotten a tad sweaty. All in the best way.
This was affordable and one of my best purchases so far this year. I’m very pleased!

This is the only Ange ou Demon version that will stay on my skin and I love it’s lasting power, very femine and ladylike.

To my nose, this one is very similar to Le Secret Elixir.
The sweet-citrus is very much alike, but while Elixir is bright and fresh, Croisiere is warmer and creamier.
(i can’t compare to the original Le Secret cause i don’t know it)
After the first blast, that reminded me A LOT of Elixir, Croisiere starts to become more flowery and getting warmer, leaving that candy side of Elixir behind. I don’t get the salt smell, but it reminds me of beach feelings cause it smells SO MUCH like sunblock lotion (specially Nivea Protect and Bronze).
The glitter thing is totally unnecessary, but cute (inside the box, comes written “Shake Before Use”). Is not heavy, and sillage is not great. The bottle itself is BEAUTIFUL, looks like is holding some magic potion that’s gonna turn my summer into THE BEST SUMMER EVER.
Is not a must have (is quite usual), but nice to have it if you have the money to spare.
Safe bet if you liked Elixir (and i guess if you like the original Le Secret as well)

The glitter…that really got me by surprise. It also seems to leave a coat of oil, perhaps added there to keep the glitter in place. I’m going to shake my bottle next time so it’s not all concentrated near the end of the suction tube (or whatever you call that thing). It doesn’t bother me that much, but I don’t understand the point.
I feel it’s very similar to Terracotta, but lighter, more transparent, a bit more fresh on the opening. Then you worry it’s going to disappear but in the drydown, it warms up a bit more, becoming even more similar to Terracotta, with the vanilla and amber more prominent.
I can pick up on a slight aromatic, incensy/smokey wood smell that I think is very common in Givenchy fragrances (think of the Very Irresistible line), combined with a touch of sweetness. Maybe this is their version of a “guerlinade” signature type of thing. Who knows…

it is very very very similar to Hot couture edt, there is nothing from le secret on my skin!

I bought this as a mistake I wanted to buy ange ou demon le secret edt instead, and when I found out that it’s not the same perfume I wanted to return it but then I thought maybe I should give it a try and I’m glad I did , while the edt smells fresh this smells very sexy the neroli and tiare flower make a great combination very natural and sensual and I can also smell something spicy in here eventhough there are no spices included in the notes pyramid, but unfortunately the sillage and the longevity are almost nonexistent I don’t know if it’s my skin chemistry or the perfume,I understand that some perfumes are meant to be skin scents but with this one I have to bury my nose so deep into my hand to be able to smell it and two hours later it’s completely gone, and what about that glitter? I don’t really want to go to work looking like I’ve just finished my shift in the club, other than that this smells wonderful.

I NEED to try this. Tiare flower and a salty accord – it sounds like Hawaii in a (gorgeous) bottle! Unfortunately it seems the only place in the UK that stocks it is Harrods and I live nowhere near London. Shame.

I definitely like this !!! It smells floral/ summery, like very pretty, not heady, but present, I like neroli, so this is lovely, Amber, warm notes, it evokes sun, vacation, without the sun tan lotion vibe!! I will wear it a lot, modern, but feminine..nice creation..the glitter doesn’t make any difference to me, but it gives a lovely color on the bottle..longevity is nice…in the drydown the salty vibe emerges it isn’t my favorite part, but still, I like the overall tone of this perfume.
    Lovely!

    29. april 2014
I have met this beauty finally in the tax free shop today. Oh, wow, i am charmed!!
I must confess that i didn´t like the original “Ange ou demon/ange et etrange le secret” EDT as much as i liked this flanker of that EDT. I am bit confused if this should smell similar to the recent “Le secret” EDT release or the original/reformulated EDP??? This particular edition comes as EDT edition, so i assumed it should smell more or less the same to the recent “Le secret” EDT edition???!! Well, if so, then it doesn´t! I have compared the both side by side on both wrists and this “croiserie” is the winner!
Ok, it is nothing groundbraking, but very nice ambery-neroli combination, with a sunny lemon in the opening, which doesn´t turn the whole composition into sour citrusy scent at all!!! All very nice combined. It says on the tester bottle, that it contains “sunny and salty accord” (whatever that means), but i don´t get any salt in here, unlike in other Givenchy “Very Irresistible croiserie” flanker. No, it is sunny and warm only! The tiare flower accord is soft and not overpowering, which i like a lot.
As a matter of fact this flanker has an echo of the other Givenchy classic – “Organza”. But just a very faint and soft “Organza”.
BUT THE BEST THING!!!! It has glitter in it!!! YEEESS! It totally got me! Just some time ago i was reviewing the “Very irresisitble 10th anniversary” edition and i complained that they did a very bad job by celebrating it´s 10th anniversary by not putting any effort into bottle design, packaging or scent itself and now they did a much better job!!! It´s different fragrance, but this time they have at least did something less ordinary (feather collar anyone??) by putting glitter inside the bottle. (JPGaultier, i am looking at YOU, for discontinuing my beloved Fragile EDP with glitter as well!). The best thing, the glitter comes out and stays on your skin when you spray a fragrance itself! Not much of it, but it is visible, however it later falls off, when completly dry or comes into contact with clothes, but still it looks very cool! It supposed to be sumer fragrance, so all the women wearing it should feel girly as well, and why not “decorate” yourself with a hint of glitter and nice fragrance at once?
Oh, i realize i might sound very childish, but the glitter totally got me!!! I am 100% getting this fragrance for my collection and i liek the nice scent as well. Good job Givenchy! Finally!
P.S. almost forgot to mention the projection and lasting power: sprayed on my wrist at 8 PM and still very much detectable at 2 AM (6hrs later). The projection is moderate in the beginning to soft after a while.
