Description

Ange ou Démon Le Parfum & Accord Illicite is an innovative fragrance from the Givenchy Ange ou Demon collection, which comes in two separate vials (Le Parfum and Accord Illicite). It is expected on the market by March 2015.

Ange Ou Demon Le Parfum contains an elegant and carnal woody-floriental composition consisting of sambac jasmine accord and a stimulating mix of musk, patchouli, amber and white leather. Accord Illicite allows you to create a multi-layered scent with its aromas of white leather, white musk, patchouli and vanilla. Accord Illicite is to be added in drops to the pulse points.

The face of the campaign is a German model Kati Nescher. The fragrance is available in heavy glass talisman-shaped bottles of 40 and 75 ml, with a small black bottle of 4 ml of Accord Illicite.

Ange ou Demon Le Parfum & Accord Illicite was created by Lucas Sieuzac and Evelyne Boulanger.

This is cruel. The accord illicite is one of the best vanillas I’ve ever smelled, and it’s a 4 ml bottle. It will be gone in no time.
Le Parfum in the big bottle is very nice: a heady jasmine, a cold vanilla, some leather in the background. Office friendly, good sillage, great lasting power as is usual with Givenchy. But that Accord… I need to buy another set just for it.
Edit: I was wrong to call it “very nice”. It’s a beauty. You just need to let it develop, and as the jasmine steps back, a sensual, sultry white leather comes to the front. Gorgeous.

This is the first time since I was a teenager, with a limited budget and necessarily limited perfume wardrobe, that I’ve worn a fragrance for two days in a row. I am enjoying these two fragrances, mixed together and by themselves, so much that I can’t stop reapplying them. On paper, neither should smell unique, but I honestly can’t think of similar fragrances for either the Parfum or Accord, individually or layered. The fact that our fellow Fragranticans have only come up with one ” Reminds me of…” says that I’m not the only one who thinks these are pretty special. I spent ages online trying to come up with a fragrance with identical or similar notes to the Accord, because quite frankly, I want it in 100ml, but I think I’ll either have to repurchase this duo or try blending fragrances I already own which have white leather, patchouli, white musk and vanilla.
As for the individual fragrances, the Parfum is uplifting and unmistakenly floral without being sweet. My bedroom smells incredible. Silage is medium but the longevity is at least 4 hours. I’m sorry I can’t be more accurate but I keep reapplying it, not because it has faded but because I can’t get enough of it.
The Accord’s white leather is what makes it special IMO. It starts with a slightly medicinal smell which I didn’t like but the vanilla is lovely and not overly heavy. The Accord has a good silage – others definitely smell it across a room – but it fades pretty quickly. The vanilla isn’t as strong as say, Dior Addict (well, nothing is, is it), but it’s warm and delicious.
Layered together I personally found the tangerine becoming more prominant and I’m not sure why that should be. It’s a nice combo but nothing wonderful. I really enjoyed using the Parfum and Accord by themselves more. I did layer the accord over Coach The Fragrance last night because I always want a bit more leather in Coach than the suede gives it. That layering experiment was a winner for me.
I hope I’m not talking up Ange ou Demon Le Parfum and Accord Illicit too much. It has’t kicked anything off my top shelf, but the fact that I haven’t stopped reapplying the Parfum, by itself or with the Accord for two days makes it a strong like for me. I hope that Givenchy brings out both as individuals. I would definitely buy them again.

I absolutely love the perfume and the Illicite accord BUT it’s completely gone on me after 2,5 maybe 3 hours.
As a blind buy I was hoping it would be more like the edp which lasts all day on me but it was a bit disappointing, mostly because of the staying power and sillage.
I will continue to use it or just keep it for my collection but would not repurchase. Will buy the classic Edp instead.
As for the perfume itself it’s a warm floral scent on me. Definitely a fresh start as the tangerine is noticeably there mixed with the jasmine.
The illicite accord is very leathery and woody.
Both very nice. Just 0 staying power.

Very good, somewhat mysterious and sensual.
I don’t detect any flowers! On me it’s all about leather, tangerine and amber. Sweet leather. A hint of vanilla and patchouli
Leather is not my favourite note, but i’m digging this one!
Will just add, that it is very leather-y when used together and layered. I haven’t tested them separately

Actually I wanted to try another version of ange ou demon and got it wrong by this one, however I’m very glad that I tried it!
Aphrodisiac is the perfect word to describe this perfume. It’s basically an animalistic jasmine mixed with amber and patchouli in a very sensual way. I thought it contains honey as well, which gives it animalistic and sweet tenderness. Orange flower is there to give it a classy feminine touch.
So illicit doesn’t sound like an irrelevant name to describe the perfume and This is interesting that despite the white flowers, the fragrance doesn’t smell anything innocent. It’s pretty feminine, but has a dark mysterious side(again matches the name, even though lots of perfumes in this range do not match such a name).
The long lasting power is quiet good, but don’t expect a great project. You’ve gotta get close if you want to smell the woman who’s wearing this perfume.

I´m in love with this tiny bottle, this Accord Illicite!
It’s gorgeous and glorious, divine and addictive. This little gem of an accord is warm, woody, sweet, dry, pure, attractive, addictive…. oh, I already said that. It smells like warm sweet imaginary wood — or just… skin. Precious!
I want at least 500 of these tiny bottles, so it would last a lifetime, and then I wouldn’t need any other fragrance in my life. Seriously.
As for the le Parfum – it’s nice and all, but rather fleeting. It’s also a little cold-dry-woody (all good in my book), and then a little cherry-sweet, and a lot of beautiful-cool-lovely jasmine. Carnal? I honestly don’t know. I don´t think so. What is carnal/sexy anyways?
Ohh, there’s also something very wonderful in there – something that smells as natural and enchanting as a lily for 15 minutes, and then morphs into an iris (not the blue powdery asian fragile beauty but the voluptuous colorful “garden iris” which is my favourite flower). There’s a phase which smells voluptious n wonderfully floral – like a bouquet of lilies and irises, in a fresh morning breeze. I love it!!!
I wear it to work, and feel comfortable and confident. Sexy? Hmmh, really? I’m struggling with the concept. Not pronunced sexy, not trying too hard, it’s just easy going, natural and comfortable in ones skin. I’d rather say – I feel like myself wearing this, sexappeal possibly included, not emphasized.
    I miss the leather though.
PS. Bought it at the airport, on a whim (I was on the hunt for the original Ange ou Demon tbh), 40ml for 35eur – no clue how that price happened. But I’m one lucky girl indeed!
Edit: shoot, I should have bought a backup bottle of it as well!!!
    EDIT
After a week of wearing the AoD Le Parfum – I’m just…. over the moon. I love the big bottle as well! Flowers, vanilla and amber – beautifully blended and well balanced. It’s sweet yet polite, sexy yet subdued, happy yet restrained, warm, deep, confident, comforting, multifaceted, gentle and lady like. It’s stunning!!!!
    It’s like Norah Jones’ voice.

It is a sweet scent, i’d blind buy. the accord illicite’s scent is more beautiful than the perfume’s. It is longetivy and sillage is not enough for me and ı think this flanker is a little simple, ordinary, weak. I won’t buy one more time.

This one is tricky. Don’t just spray it and think “oh, okay, it’s just a cute sweet scent”. Nope. Wear it and let it fully develop on the skin. It is animalic, even though the leather is untraceable, just not right away.
Initially it is indifferent, just some sweet freshness from citrus, then just some florals, you can’t really tell that it is jasmine yet, some creaminess, some warmth, a very vague thang; almost disappointing. But wait; this whole thing will morph into an expensive smelling, animalic-musky cherry smell. Properly sweet.
A heady jasmine, a non-gourmand vanilla just creamy, definitely amber is prominent from the second hour of wear time and musk all the way. The leather and patchouli notes are not detectable by my nose, either they just don’t exist or they are in low concentration. It’s not a gripe of mine by no means, the scent works just as fine even without them, but in case someone came for leather and patchouli, they will be disappointed for sure.
Needless to say, a yes from me. It lasts and lasts; washed my hands with soap once and I can still trace it quite well on my skin. Oh, and it sits close to the skin.
P.S.: on a second thought I kind of regret not testing the Illicit Accord. I just sniffed the cap of it, and it did smell deep, spicy-peppery and like bitter almond. Maybe the so desired leather and patchouli notes reside there and the whole idea is that we should layer Le Parfum with Illicit Accord for more animalic results. I now realize that they are supposed to be together. Just saying…

Leather, seriously ? I wonder where is it hiding …. probably behind the wall of Jasmine and vanilla, wrapped in an ambery blanket, covered in flower pollen and musky sweetness. No seriously, the leather is minimal. I can guess it is there, somewhere lost in this composition described as a floriental, but it’s not the focus of the perfume.
Now, I am writing this after one wearing. I saw the gorgeous bottle and, under the nostalgia of my Ange ou demon Le secret , I got it. I am not sure I want to keep it. The tiny black bottle I haven’t tried yet, it’s so little I am even afraid to open the lid. How is it supposed to last through a big 75 ml bottle ? Maybe it isn’t meant to be worn together all the time.
Back to the perfume, the bottle is gorgeous. That’s what sold me. I had a sample from swap with a lolvey member here, but I had forgotten the scent….the bottle however isn’t full to the lid like the pictures on fragrantica shows , and I bought mine sealed from Hudson Bay , and the juice colour is also darker than the photo here. the smell reminds indeed of Ange ou Demon Le Secret, the original first edition in a peachy pink color . It is stronger. There is some citrus in the opening which quickly disipates , letting the Jasmine shine. The Jasmine is mixed up with vanilla, amber, musk, and some patchouli but not a lot. A little suede type of leather , non animalic, joins in and adds richness .
This is expensive. But it is worth mentioning that both the big bottle and the little bottle come in Parfum concentration , they are not edt, edp or edc. The the money isn’t thrown on fresh fragrant water , like many other fragrances recently. As all Parfum concentrations, the lasting power is very good and the silage medium , not soft but not loud either .
It’s isn’t delicate and angelic like Le secret, even though they have the same backbone. This is stronger, richer, much more sensual, almost aggressive .
    Edit :
I think I love it ! I also tried the Illicite accord, just one drop. It’s more vanillic than I though, very nice. I wish it had a sprayer, I am not the one to dab from miniatures . Needless to say I won’t touch is again .

    This is unexpectedly good
A bit like givenchy Le secret, Le secret elixir, the oil expands the notes and makes them solder but stronger, then the oil added side is lasting longer with more silage.
It goes a bit aromatic in the same way gucci rush does, or la vie set belle maybe…
Overall I get a caramelly hit with notes from the above flankers, using it with the oil makes it lean towards a warmer caramelly version of Le secret elixir.
Nice job, this is well done

This is very beautiful.I was thinking that mix of vanilla and Jasmine is used in a lot of perfumes and it’s enough but I was wrong.this mix will be great always.this is one of the best perfumes of givenchy.it’s warm soft deep charming feminine and for a classy woman.I love perfumes that are soft or sexy or classy and this is all of them.I can smell vanilla and Jasmine but there are other things too that make this very lovely and rich.there’s some musk and amber.it has very good longevity and sillage.I think it’s one of best new perfumes and I wish to have it
    10/10

I get loads of jasmine followed by vanilla, amber and leather. I could swear there is thyme in here but its not listed. Thyme is what makes ange au demon stand apart from the usual heavy sweet commercial parfums. Thankfully it’s not overly sweet. I dont get much patch at all. A beautiful, decadent, rich and long lasting fragrance. I guess many would consider it a special evening scent but I like to wear whenever Im in the mood. A&D parfum always gets compliments.
    Moderate silage and longevity.

Beautiful scent! I got my first bottle yesterday and it won’t be the last! The EDP smells great just on its own lots of amber and leather but when paired with a couple of drops of L’accord Illicite it is just amazing, very sensual and deep.
This fragrance should be kept for special moments as it is really gorgeous but I wore it today running errands and it felt great leaving a stunning trail.
Sillage is great with moderate longevity.

Tested this today and I am really impressed about it’s intensity and longevity. It’s a strong perfume, long lasting and has it’s own identity without being too heavy. I’ve had for years Ange ou Demon Eau de toilette and I can say that it doesn’t remind me of it, it’s distinct. On my skin I could sense mostly the notes of leather & amber in the first minutes and later the jasmine and vanilla notes. It kind of reminded me of flowerbomb somehow, maybe because of the jasmine, patchouli and musk notes. I will try it again on my skin and maybe include it in my winter perfume collection.

I found this one nice but I like the original version better. This one is a little sweeter and peppery. The best of this version is the longevity, 10-12 hours at least on my skin

  16. :

It’s strange, semi-sweet, semi-oriental. Plus lots of jasmine. It is not similar to the first Ange ou Demon. I like it, but it’s moderate like. Nothing exceptional, honestly.

Quite lovely sweet fragrance. It’s a nice fruity-floral-vanilla blend 🙂
The only problem that it lasts on my skin extremely shortly – around 5-10 min, I’m not joking.

First of all I’d like to say it (the pink perfume in the transparent bottle) has nothing in common with the regular “Ange ou Demon” for me, it’s a unique and very sophisticated perfume.
It’s a very beautiful, white, dewy, innocent flower bouquet with a hint of fresh orange and some pure amber drops on the petals, sent for a noble, young lady for her 18th birthday. The stems of the flowers are bound together with a wide cream color satin ribbon which has some drops of a natural, good quality musk on it (I suppose this could be the black, tiny bottle) and this adds some sensuality, something new, surprising for that young lady, something tempting and scaring in the same time, something to discover. The perfume and the little, black bottle are quite opposite things, like that intelligent, pure, still innocent, aristocratic girl in her empire style silk and lace dress with precious embroideries and a bit rude, very manly, but honest and loving man who has stolen her heart. The black bottle perfume smells for me like a very, very concentrated regular “Ange ou Demon”, a mixture of animalic, amber and musk notes which makes the pink perfume stronger, makes it last longer and adds that nuance of sensuality and warmth. The pink perfume is a sparkling, light flower ballroom waltz, the pink perfume with a touch of the black bottle perfume is a rumba – close, sensual, only between two people without any witnesses.

I’m a huge fan of two perfumes, Alchimie by Rochas and Sensi by Giorgio Armani. Both were discontinued some time ago and I have kind of struggled for the past 5+ years to find something that I really love and could call my signature. I did some research and stumbled across “Ange ou Demon Le Parfum & Accord Illicit” and the notes intrigued me. I could only find one store who had this in stock and they didn’t have a tester! So $150 later on a blind buy, I had everything crossed that it would capture my heart. I started by dabbing the little Ange ou Demon Accord Illicit in some keys areas, like wrists, neck etc and then sprayed a decent spray of the bigger bottle on each wrist and neck. I liked the initial smell of the perfume and immediately fell in love with its complexity! After 15-20 minutes, this warm, sensual and extremely sophisticated scent appears. It is so extremely complex and so sexy, yet subtle and feminine all at the same time. It has shot to the top of my perfume list and is my new signature fragrance. So much so that I have purchased another two bottles this morning! 10/10 for me…

Love this one..rich, strong & luxurious scent. Lasting power is amazing. I think this perfume is special & classy..thumbs up!

I’m testing it without the accord Illicite, and it’s Le Parfum version? Really? It’s the softest of the line (not counting the jasmin tea Le Secret ones) and it’s a castrated sugary faint jasmin with bubblegum accord to support it. So weak and lifeless, not ugly by any means, but faint, and with no Ange ou Demon classic anywhere, not even an echo of it is present here. It should be a new standalone fragrance for those of you who like your scents “nice, safe” and without personality. A pretty dissappointment.

  24. :

    5 out of 5

Very well done !!! It is not like the previous ones in this line. Although, the fruity touch, feels very subtly, this is always attached to the jasmine, and is what gives it the distinctive and extravagant touch to this wonder. Vanilla is very persistent with the amber give the warm touch. The musk, makes the perfume, more volatile and romantic. And finally the patchouli note is bitter, giving it a mysterious tone to all this masterpiece. It is very persistent and comes with an extra extract to increase its fixing power.

This is a very dense, rich scent… an ambery warm perfume, quite suitable for the summer evenings too, though. I really enjoyed wearing it today!
My only objection is the Feline(cat) leather accord; no one could tell me if the accord is synthetic or pure oil, so I’ll simply pass.

  26. :

    5 out of 5

I think I’ve tried the big bottle from a tester in a drugstore where they also carry fine design fragrances. I thought: “oh, look, a new Ange ou Demon, again”
Will I skip this one? No way. I needed to try it and I quickly regretted it. I don’t like this perfume. The listed notes make little sense as for 99% perfumes nowadays.
I would call this AoD a little invisible brick: nothing complicated, faint, solid.
Not disturbing, but nothing special. A little cloying, too.
I’ve had it on my skin for many hours now and it behaves exactly like many other perfumes: longlasting & meaningless.
It doesn’t project around yet it clings to the skin in the perfect synthetical way. Yet another Vynavil-like Givenchy. Please, bring back original formulas.

  27. :

What a stunning perfume! Love at first sniff! The selection and the mixture of the notes are incredible. Usually I am not keen on these ingrediends, but I am totally smitten by this fragrance. The sillage is moderate, but for me this is another advantage.

  28. :

    4 out of 5

Definitely warm but not heady, I don’t know, it reminds me of Tresor la Nuit, although Illicite is more subtle, I like it, it is feminine, intimate, the patchlouli isn’t overly aggressive, and there is a spicy floral undertone that is very nice…but it is a fruitchouli. Seems those are popular lately, and fruitchouli aren’t my favorite combination.
There is also a good dose of Amber..it is a complex perfume, not casual though, and I agree more a night scent, or winter time…although if you spray lightly, you could wear it all year long..in the drydown there is a milkiness that is cozy..
Interesting creation, but I find adding the little black bottle gimmicky..

  29. :

    5 out of 5

This is strange one for me as it changes everytime I smell it. At times I get the Angelic side which is sweet and rather innocent in scent, then I get the Devilish side which is dark and sensual.
    A beautiful fragrance either way.

  30. :

    4 out of 5

The opening of Ange ou Demon Le Parfum reminds me of Ange ou Demon Le Secret. It is sweet and, although it isn’t listed, I suspect there is a lily in there, somewhere. After the initial bubble gum-y scent, comes vanilla-chouli, a bit heavy, but it melts into the skin beautifully. The musk gives the composition a sensual appeal, that is hard not to notice. The sweetness of the vanilla is there for 10 straight hours, then all that remains is cozy patchouli and woodiness.
As for it’s accord illicite, it’s all vanilla-chouli, warm and comforting. One drop is all you need and it stays with you for a few hours. If you apply a drop to where you sprayed Le Parfum (I mean if you layer the two), you only get more vanilla and patchouli. I like to use the mini as a separate fragrance, for night time or, better yet – for bed time.
All in all, Ange ou Demon Le Parfum is a boom boom boom kind of fragrance, not for the faint of heart and not for stiletto blonde princesses.

Really special the new creation by Givenchy.
A warm and delicious jasmine in the Parfum and a sensual patchouli for tha Accord Illicite.
They have in common the feline leather accord. Love it!!
Both very long lasting, more the Accord Illicite.
If someone want to it easy, ask me, I do sending. I’m in italy.

Very powerful smelling white floral. Nice jasmine, lots of amber and some patchouli.
There is a slight similarity to the Ange ou Demon Le Secret flankers. If you know them well, you can sense the similarity.
I like it, it’s sensual, powerful and feminine. Also quite warm. Definitely a night time scent.
Usually I am not a fan of amber scents, but I consider this one really good.

does anyone test the Accord Illicite ? does it chance the smell of the perfume ?

According to another website: “Ange ou Démon Le Parfum is a woody floriental with jasmine, patchouli, leather and amber, and the Accord Illicite gives you the option to “dirty up” the scent by adding drops of the Accord; notes of leather, white musk, patchouli and vanilla.”
Although I’m missing the Saffron note (which is something i really like in the first version) and would totally dismiss the patchouli, i can’t wait to try it *-*
