What’s not to love? Just ordered this and yum. It’s a cinnamon forward incense-amber, lots of woods and warming. This is not an ethereal light and smoke incense but cinnamon sweet. Smoke dissipates quickly leaving woody amber notes behind with some “red hots” humming along. I don’t pick up rose, and the vanilla is low key while the moss keeps it from gourmand territory. I really enjoy. I’ll be getting the larger bottle next time. Incense is my comfort scent, the one I reach for without thinking, but just knowing it will make me happy. And this does. This is not a hard intellectual scent–just well-done and easy. 5/5

This is a remarkably well done amber/incense perfume. If your an incense lover take note. This may be all natural but it’s not a light weight perfume.
I get predominately honeyed Amber and Frankincense throughout, as the fragrance settles I can smell more and more of the fruity notes that come across as hot apple cider to my nose, and due to the cinnamon note it gets a bit gourmandish, reminding me a bit of Hermes Ambre Narguile . And it’s actually because of the fruit notes that I feel it veers away from being a liturgical kind of incense, which for me was a little disappointing because I want an incense perfume that brings the Catholic mass to me. This is a sweeter incense perfume, lighter and less serious.
Yesterday while wearing it, it brought to mind faint glimpses of memories that I couldn’t grasp. Memories that I wanted to hold onto, because of the comfort they brought me.

I have sensitive skin, and this actually gave me a light burning sensation on my first application. Especially in my inner arm folds. Bad idea to put it there I guess. Other than that I like it, but it’s not the amber I am looking for. This is medicinal and spicy, and overall smells more like the incense resins than amber. I don’t find this sweet. The Sichuan pepper kind of ruins it for me, it’s very noticeable. I wish fragrantica would get their note listings together.

This smells a lot like a frankincense & myrrh incense stick I bought at an Indian store, not very smoky though; it’s very smooth and sweet resinous with soft woody undertone

Amber Incense is one of only four scents in Sonoma Scent Studio’s Sonoma Naturals Collection, which consist of scents that are made with natural botanicals in a base of natural organic grain alcohol. The others in this collection include Cocoa Sandalwood, Spiced Citrus Vetiver, and Pacific Forest.
The notes include: Elemi, Sichuan pepper CO2, clove bud absolute, rose absolute, jasmine sambac absolute, beeswax, frankincense, cedar, New Caledonia sandalwood absolute, labdanum, oakmoss absolute, oakwood CO2, patchouli, heliotrope isolate, natural apricot isolate blend, natural damascenone isolate, tonka, bezoin absolute, cocoa absolute, and vanilla. Amber Incense is only available in a parfum (not EDP, but parfum) concentration.
This is a big, bold amber and frankincense scent, but one that quickly reveals its subtleties. Amber and frankincense are so domineering that I found it is almost always what undergirds them and ornaments them to make the scent most interesting, and Laurie made some fabulous choices here. First, a soft, bright but unobtrusive Sichuan pepper nips at your nose at the very top. And then the amber/frankincense combination rests on a resinous base shared with the bare sweetness of dry fruit. I usually try to refrain from comparing different houses and perfumers, but I hope Laurie will excuse me just this one: this is what Serge Lutens was going for in Arabie, but failed when he let booze and candied fruits completely take over the scent. Here, the amber is allowed to sing all on its own. In Amber Incense, the sweetness is modulated and controlled (just the rounded earthiness of plum and delectable apricot are listed in the notes), and the amber and frankincense have the stage, just as they should. As it dies on my skin, it’s a soft, fruity leather, but the amber in the opening never quite disappears.
Laurie, the owner, perfumer, and creative director at Sonoma Scent Studios, told me that Amber Incense was an “all natural,” and that because of this, it wore softer than some other scents. If this is the case, someone needs to alert federal authorities, because she’s obviously creating thermonuclear bombs in her perfumery. For me, the longevity was as commendable as anything in her mixed media collection (which is not necessarily 100% botanical naturals), with a sillage that was quite impressive.
Due to the fact that Amber Intense is an all-natural botanical, it is slightly more expensive than her mixed media offerings. To be honest, just say goodbye to the money. You don’t need it. What all perfumer lovers live off of are daydreams and olfactory reminiscences, anyway. And when you get your little 34 ml bottle, you’ll have plenty to occupy you.

I’m glad I can say the first words about this….it’s wonderful! Both notes of Amber and incense are balanced so perfectly. If you own tabac aurea and winter woods like I do then you will like this too. Laurie the owner of Sonoma scent studio is such a wonderful person and loves to help people. And I support her all the way. You can order samples of these scents or full bottles online directly from her Sonomascentstudio.com
Don’t let the 34ml bottle throw you off, the concentration of these EDPs are high and last long time and projection is great too. Best niche for money category for sure!
