Description

The house of The Body Shop has presented in 2012 its new collection called Scents of The World, which includes 5 EDTs composed of 100% organic alcohol and natural extracts collected from various parts of the world.

Amazonian Wild Lily is composed of fresh and lively flowers: iris, white lily and orchid, enriched with papaya fruit zest.

The fragrances are available as 50ml EDT in glass flacons, accompanied by perfumed body care collection (100ml fragrance mist, 200ml body lotion, 200ml shower gel, 15ml perfume oil). The perfumes hit the shelves in August 2012.

Polite, light, and fresh. Great for spring and summer. I don’t gravitate to these kinds of scents but the stuff I adore is just not appropriate in the heat. This one is very wearable in the heat.

This one is lovely and quite unusual, considering the simplicity of the notes. A watery green floral. Not marine, not powdery, not fruity or sweet, not heady floral. It just exists on its own without anyone trying to pick out the notes. Another great Body Shop creation, Would have been my signature scent if it wasn’t discontinued. If you like this one but it’s discontinued in your country, an equally great and similar one would be Fijian Water Lotus.

I had the mist at first and loved it! And when Body Shop had a clearance I decided to go for the perfume oil instead. What a mistake! The mist is light and airy while the perfume oil stay too close to the skin and gives me a bit of an headache. I think it is because of the flower notes that becomes stronger with the perfume oil.
Overall it is a beautiful scent that I usually wear before I go to bed because it calms me down.

I have the perfume oil and while I do get a bit of lily (it’s definitely floral), there’s a pronounced melon/cucumber note on my skin. My first thought when I encountered this fragrance was how similar it is to a cucumber cooling eye gel I used to have – it’s slightly aquatic in that same way (the opening also reminds me of dew-damp grass). The sillage of the perfume oil is soft, but get close and you’ll see it packs quite a punch. There’s something that seems a little too synthetic to my nose, but it’s not disagreeable. It’s a pretty fragrance – not a favorite but still nice to have in my summer rotation.

this is more aloe vera and cucmuber (cool green) on me than water lily (foral). I like this simple little refreshing undemanding unassuming and light number on Summer and Spring, whenever i need to take a break from applying my usual heavier and more complicated frangrance but don’t want to be perfum-naked.
I spray 8 times and after 4 hours i still get an occasion whiff of cool aloe vera and cucmuber whenever i move.

So this is a light floral fresh perfume, can b used as a everyday body mist type. Silllage longevity poor. Bt keeping one in collection is worth, I don’t love it, I like it.. I hv the edt which is no different than body mist.

Not too exciting, but fresh and non-offensive. Reminds me of the classic Coriandre. Just a watery version.

Very nice and light. Bought some today, as it was on clearance. Staff said it was being discontinued.

I had it for 3 years, still love it! unfortunately the scent doesn’t stay longer on me, so I need to re spritz twice or three a day.
The scent brings me into the wild forest with a lot of lily inside. so fresh, floral and green! very blended well with tropical air here in Indonesia 🙂

Smells like cucumber melon on me….not for me. 🙁

A distincly green and watery floral. If there were a “Floral juicy” category, this would fit in well. I am wearing it as a substitute for The Body Shop’s “Spirit of Moonflower” perfume, but this one is less innocently sweet and more fruity and tropical.
It is very agreeable (if you like lilies), although the watery green notes are the first to go, followed by the fruity quality, and the floral note lingers on my skin for about 3 hours. I give it a 7/10.

I am currently in love with the amazonian wild lily scent from the body shop. Oh, the shower gel was just heavenly and then layering with the oil felt so wonderful. I feel so pampered and I smell really good.

Fresh slightly sweet lily with a touch of tropical fruit. Extremely refreshing, perfect for summer. Fruity without being syrupy or running over the florals. Doesn’t last long but it’s inexpensive enough to respray frequently. Good for casual wear or work place wear. On the list for lily lovers to definitely give a sniff!

This is very green and fresh. Not really citrusy so I wouldn’t compare it to White Citrus because Amazon Lily is green floral fragrance.
I would say that lasting power is worse than body spray and I have edt-so because of that I won’t get it again but its nice for hot days or for just out of the shower

A very aquatic, fresh and green scent.its more on the crisper side than what I usually wear but it’s got a lovely Lilly scent to this that makes it very feminine,I own both the eau de toilette and the perfume oil and find they work great together definitely one of my favourite body shop fragrances along with neroli jasmine which is now called indian night jasmine.

Bought this fragrance oil at a discount after I tested it at the shop. The scent was a lot less heady and powdery than I expected, which was great. This doesn’t have the synthetic “lily” scent that many perfume houses try to capture by making an overly heady scent.
This is a nice, fresh, lilies-after-the-rain or lilies-with-morning-dew scent. Light and floral, a little bit grassy, and not too heady but definitely pleasant to have a whiff of.
The dry down is also nice. This scent changes from a fresh flowers and rain scent to a nice, clean, soapy floral. Eventually smells like lily soap, not overbearing or synthetic smelling. I personally enjoy this light scent, I’ve never been more satisfied with a scent than this one! It also lasts quite long on me, around 5 to 6 hours!
Note: I have a “warm” base, vanillas, caramels, and any heady, sweet scents become extremely pronounced on my skin, so this might affect how I experienced the silage.

I am so glad I learned to appreciate simple & pure kind of florals and not only gravitate to very complex perfumes. I am blessed with this Wild Lily, because one it has good longevity on my skin, more than the Atlas Rose for instance and secondly, I can detect the flowers, the iris & lily is quite prominent on my skin and that papaya is luckily not too much present because I am not fond of tropical/pina colada kind of frags. It is indeed a pretty, sweet-fresh of floral but with a little twist, not a boring traditional floral at all.
    I also bought the oil version and if you combine these 2 you have a very long lasting combination;
I like to put it after the shower to start a lovely day and it gives immediately that boost of positive feelings which make you smile the whole day 🙂

Very light, very fresh, perfect for a spring morning. It isn’t overly sweet or saccharine either, which is nice. Unfortunately it fades so quickly, but it is only an eu de toilette.

It is quite a generic, fresh aquatic scent. I was browsing TBS looking for a fragrance mist to place in my bag, just in case I want to smell fresher and out of all the choices I chose this one. It smells fresh, sweet and tropical – it reminds me of an ‘I just got out of the shower’ scent. It’s very green and smells like spring. So fresh and flowery, I’ll just spray it liberally whilst I’m going about in my day. The last power is very minimal, it’s just a freshening up scent. I would never use it as a perfume.

I don’t feel any wild lily in this fragrance. Disappointment!

One day you want something so gentle you can use it, it’s so so… fresh and easy to use. But it does not last long and you will have to use it regularly, every hour ;(

This smelled nice, at first. It was a refreshing, aquatic fragrance. I tested it a few times and decided it was a very generic scent. Amazonian Wild Lily is a decent scent, but isn’t a must have.

My mum has this and it smells lily at the beginning then the sweet sugar cane comes (I read the notes and it also has sugar cane.)!! I really love it.

  25. :

Light, airy and a great aquatic floral fragrance. Staying power with the EDT is minimal, but it’s very pleasant on my skin for as long as it lasts (~2-3 hours).

  26. :

EDT- I love the smell of this: floral, aquatic/green, sweet but not overly so, with a faint sour fruit note. The lasting power is about 4-5 hours. My biggest issue is that at about the 2.5-3 hour mark the scent shifts on me to a distinct “you forgot your deodorant” scent. Not a good thing.
While I could easily love this, with my body chemistry it’s a definite “NO!”

I got the perfume oil just a few days ago, tried it, it last 8-10 hours on me. I must admit for the price, I did not think it would last so put a generous amount on myself so when it lasted that long was quite surprised.
The smell is a fresh citrus floral. I do not smell any papaya. There’s a lemon opening which is not listed, and I smell the lily mostly.
Definitely worth the price, a day spring/summer scent.

Does anybody has a reference of a similar perfume? Mine (EDT) won’t last long,1-1.5 hour approximately. THey don’t sell the perfume oil in my country. I’ve tried the Japanese Cherry Blossom EDT and it lasts better, around 3 hour, and the sillage also better. But I like the Lily better..! =( Oh and anyway, I’ve used them on top of petroleum jelly because I heard it improves the longevity.

I had it in perfume oil.
This is how the spring smells like. Fresh flowers with some dew drops on their petals which disappears as soon as the hot sun touches them.
    There’s a waterfall near creating a rainbow.
Aquatic, green, flowery and mild scent for summer when I don’t want to wear any heavy scents.
It’s interesting- I hate lily as a note, but I really like the scent of this wild, a kind of natural lily. Amazonian rainforests with their attracting and yet scaring secrets.

This bears resemblance to The Body Shop’s (now discontinued) Moonflower only for the first 5 seconds. I vividly remembered how Moonflower smelt like, how magical it was..
    ——–
Transparent, icing-sugar-like floral note introduces itself, bearing resemblance to Moonflower. Then, quickly, white lily appears, amidst a backdrop of green notes and an aquatic touch. Within 15 minutes, it dries down to an utterly generic synthetic green floral note with hints of papaya, a whisper of its somewhat decent opening.
This is a bright green colour based on the scent.
    Soft sillage.
    Verdict: Meh.
At least the price’s not bad.

This is the first perfume I bought for myself.. I used to dislike the smell of perfume thinking that the scent was too artificial and makes me dizzy. But one day I decided to use perfume, most of them still gives me dizzy feeling. This one has the most pleasing smell to me. I sprayed the perfumes to the tester papers and then randomly picked it without knowing whichone is which, and I chose this one twice. So yeah..I can tel that this is the right perfume for me. The downside is that eventhough it’s considered inexpensive, but it doesn’t last long so I have to spray it many times in a day..Also some friends of mine didn’t even realize I wore it..
I would describe this perfume as light, feminime, but not so feminime..^^

This is so similar to moonflower from the body shop. That fragrance was one of my enemies’ signature. I refuse to smell like her. Sorry for the short review but it’s the truth.

It’s my daily scent and I love it on me. Not so much on staying power but the sillage is pretty good. I use it on those hot and humid days when I want to smell fresh and light, and it does work. Will repurchase again if mine ran out. =)

There is a slight greasy note in this, that does make me think of the humid jungle with all the exotic vegetation. All in all, very grassy, green, inoffensive and suitable for office.

In some way this fragrance reminds me of She Wood Velvet Forest. This one is dryer, warmer, tropical, the Velvet Forest is northern and rainy. But they share something woody and green. I don’t smell that much lily or flowers in it, it’s grassy and aquatic, very fresh like a warm dry blow of wind. I love it.

I bought the perfume oil and find it very long lasting. Love this fragrance! Woody, aquatic, fresh citrus, nice combo. I know this will be my favorite a long time. The whole set of Body Shops new The Scents from the World is wonderful, I could almost use all of them, all my favorites in one. So far I havebought this one and the Cherry Blossom as perfume oil.

Bought the fragrance mist, great longevity for just being a mist, I get at least 6 h out of it. Polite, fresh, aquatic floral that gives that “just showered” feeling for the entire day. Economic everyday spray that smells so good!

It really smells like the Amazonian rainforest!
Amazonian Wild Lily is quite an aquatic fragrance in a tropical way.
At first spray, it smelled heavily of citrus fruits, before becoming less intense and the floral smell becoming more prominent.
The lasting power was quite good, I still smelled this on my wrist 8 hours after applying, but the projection lessens considerably after a time.
A great day fragrance, especially if its humid or warm (as the perfume is so fresh), but maybe also a good night perfume if its hot.
