I tried Amarena hoping for more tuberose. It is more rose and cherry than anything else. It’s not offensive in any way, but not special either.

Nothing too fancy. I tested it, attracted by the bottle and expected the juice inside it to be enigmatic too. Well, it’s mainly cherry and rose. Starts with sour cherry that lasts for many hours, the next day is a soapy rose scent and today it’s just fresh and simple rose. Great longevity, moderate silage and unfortunately no tuberose for me. I would call it plain.

Every collection has a member that stands out as the weakest conceptually and Amarena fulfills that role. Even the concept seems well drain worked form the brand: it’s mentioned that the pink tourmaline is a stone found in Brazil associated with love and pleasure. It says it brings the colors, sounds and exuberance of Brazil but does not explain how. The name and the stone are clearly associated by color, and the fragrance tries to tie it with an aroma of bitter cherries in combination with rose and tuberose. In practice, the cherries do not last beyond the opening and what comes next is generic on the skin. The perfume develops a strange floral accord, which refers to orchids and scotch tape. In a final moment, it heads for an old-fashioned generic floral, something that could be a drugstore scented talcum powder. There is an interesting aspect of musks and iris / violet, but it doesn’t stand on the skin unless the body temperature rises fairly. It is a concept in my opinion poorly executed and drain for an expensive exclusive fragrance.

Smells like plastic. The most terrible thing I’ve got my nose on. Even the cheapest soap smells better.

Soft elegance of the tuberose, the sophistication of the rose, with the sweetness of the cherry keeping this fun and sweet and approachable.

Fell in love with this in the store. Tested it, allowed to settle and came back to buy. Comes with a massive price tag and very poor sillage, wasn’t detectable even 2 to 3 hours after applying.

Tried today as I asked for something with rose at the Bvlgari’s counter and the SA immediately pushed this Amarena which in its name (black cherry) is a little bit misleading. Only 2 notes? The SA told it also contains black cherry. Who knows… I smelled something sweet-fruity in the opening, not bad, then it’s all about faint flowers: rose and tuberose.
The rose is very beautifully rendered here in its centifolia gentleness.
I wish it was stronger but this one wears very faint on my skin. Sweet and feminine and nicely blended but faint.
All in all this line is more about a modern post-forbidden materials way. Not old-school enough for me.

The Pink Tourmaline is a spitfire stone from Brazil, and at Bvlgari they call her, Amarena. In Italian, Morello Cherry. She is all about heat and glamour and a big bold flower in her hair. This fragrance sambas on the skin to a wonderful tune created by the notes of Amarena Cherry, Violet, Rose Centifolia and Tuberose. This is a glamorous floral that becomes more entrancing after the sun sets. In fact there is a rather playful war of the roses going on here. A tug of war between the temperamental rose and the heavy lidded languorous tuberose. But as you move into the fragrance the two kiss and make up ending in a rather intricate sexy tango. For a winter seduction under the stars in the Borghese gardens wrapped in chinchilla. Well look no further, is your arsenal of love.

    Just pure Tuberose and Rose.
Very natural sweet and animalic Tuberose with Sour-sweet Rose.
