Description

“Allure in motion. More than a fragrance, ALLURE HOMME SPORT Cologne is a boost of well-being for the active man — a fresh, invigorating composition like a breath of energy. A generous citrus freshness is subtly heightened by spicy Lovage and Elemi notes and set against a backdrop of Cedar and White Musk.” – a note from the brand. The fragrance was relaunched in 2016 keeping nearly the same olfactory composition (begamot could get tuned down a little in the top notes) with new packaging and sizes.

Allure Homme Sport Cologne was launched in 2007. The nose behind this fragrance is Jacques Polge.

Wow just saw so many overwhelmingly positive reviews.
To me, this is is not much more than a safe and simple, sharp citrus fragrance with very poor performance on my skin.
It starts of with blast of citrus, and… Well thats about it. Very linear, doesnt evolve into anything exciting, particularly sexy, or different. Yes its pleasant and not off putting.
But again, bc of the poor longevity on my skin, I have demoted it strictly to my gym scent. It actually works quite well for the gym specifically bc it smells very fresh, clean, and non offensive, but after an hour or two, is a barely a skin scent. Feels like its all top notes, not much middle or bass notes.
I do admit that my skin seems to absorb fragrances, so unless they are beast mode, they dont perform great. But this one in particular disappears very quickly. I think if one is looking for a sexy “chic magnet” thats safe for all occasions, Bleu De Chanel is a better choice. And there are many others that are more unique.
Again, just my personal opinion and doesnt mean you might not love it.
Apart from the gym, I wouldnt really wear this, and dont plan on buying it again.

This is a another chic magnet in my collection and the big question, ( What is that your wearing fragrance). I think this one was overlooked when it came out. It lives up to modernity still in 2018, even though it was released in 2007. Its incredibly fresh and clean. This is actually the best in the Allure collection to me, if you looking for all year around. Try it or buy it

Literally my favorite men’s scent on myself, ever.
Wanna walk on a peaceful cloud of bliss? Look no further. I can’t believe it took me this long to review my favorite men’s perfume, must be an internal mechanism of “trying to keep it all to myself”.
If you ever thought this was just a boring flanker, slap yourself awake. This is marvelous in every sense. Bought the biggest bottle the day I tried it on my skin. That longlasting neroli/petitgrain heart, a smidgen bitterer than what you’re used to, woody dry down, citrus initial blast, the whole thing is godsent. None of my lovers get to wear this one, it’s MINE. Nothing compares to this one, I revisit it countless times on humid, sticky summer days, the vetiver and cedar keep everything grounded and lovely while that amazing neroli just carries me through anything.
Lasts 4-5h on me at least, freshening up is no problem since the larger bottle-125mL-lets you make decants without feeling like you’re wasting perfume. What’s really cool, is that one or two sprays largely suffice! I’ve had my bottle since 2013 and still have 75% left. Backup-worthy, if that doesn’t tell you enough.

This is definitely in my top 5. It’s bitter, sour, tangy, lemony, and takes a while to get used to. It’s hard to find, but is the best fragrance to wear in the high summer heat.

This is the best fragrance ever, i just love it.
It’s smells fantastic and high quality, it’s very uplifting, it lasts all day and you’ll never get tired of it, projects decently.
Also you can spray as much as you want, it will never overwhelm you.
Perfect, elegant manly, don’t know if women find it sexy

I love this citrus blast of love.
Chanel outdid themselves with this one.
You’ll love this fragrance profile if you love the frags listed under here:

Keep it within reach during the summer, at all times.
    I love it…
    Yeah, I said it!
I used six sprays…both wrist, back & front of my neck, chest, and front of my shirt.

A simply underrated fragrance from the respected designer fragrance house.
I believe that this has to be one of the best, seductive citrus fragrances for men on the market at the moment.
From the fresh spritz-like opening, to the creamy alluring base notes, it is a crowd pleaser which garners compliments from all.
It truly is a stunning release and deserves a lot more attention in the “Chanel Allure Homme” line.

The more I wear this, the more it becomes a favorite. It’s so much more than a citrus fragrance. Absolutely beautiful.

  10. :

Obviously Chanely! It has a great imprint to be a colongne, clearly spring and summer: blue sea, white shirts, golden skin. A perfect mix between yellow and green citrus … balance between woods and herbs, airy and humid as a refreshing and tumultuous fog … Weigh the comparison with Mercedes Benz and Dior Homme “colognes” these last two are plastic and synthetic, they smell to laboratory … Allure Cologne Sport is clearly NATURAL, smells sky and water… It is in the same and firm vein of Les Exclusifs Eau de Cologne… bright and refreshing and airy powerful waterly fragance . . .

  11. :

Begins with a really clean citrus scent that fades over time to a warm, masculine scent. It’s fun to watch the scent evolve, as it smells great throughout the process!

F.Y.I: It leaks. I currently have 87 fragrances. And this is the only bottle which leaks it’s juice. Bought this 3 years ago, and didn’t wear this for about 1 year(always keep in an appropriate place). Today found it’s cap is oily and leaks a lot.
    Batch #:1902 (150ml)
I googled it and found there’s other people having same issues.

I have to say I am pleasantly surprised by this fragrance. I was given it as a gift, and my expectations weren’t great. Partly because of Chanels reputation for reformulation, particularly of the Allure line.. and secondly because it’s a cologne. However I have to say it smells great.. like a clean luxury citrus scent, and it seems to be performing well! I’ve worn it for two days, havent had any compliments, but I can smell it on myself for a good few hours. There’s a lot of notes in this one, but I can only really detect the lemon and orange. Perhaps not worth the strong retail prices that Chanels demand, but I would definately pick it up again if the price is right.

A lot of people seem to be unhappy with the newer one.. I do notice a difference between ‘colongne'(newer version) and ‘cologne sport'(older version), but it would be an understatement to just say the newer version is a ‘watered down’ version of the old one. When I smelled both although the scent is nearly identical, the stark difference between the two is that the older version has much more sharpness of the citrus scent. It’s quite noticeable.
With a newer version, they toned down this sharp citrus and found a perfect balance, which is a lot more pleasing to my nose than the previous one. Although many people might like that sharp citrus smell, it was too overly done it almost gives me a slight headache. I let my sister smell both and she agreed with me, but please don’t buy my words for it. You would have to try both to see which one fit your taste better.

    SLEPT ON …
This one got slept on so much that Olivier did his take on this now. If this is Chanel goal now to let the son do a retake on the dad’s Masterpieces I say buy now.
This fragrance opens up with a blast of the best citruses note in a bottle. You are getting hit with every citrus note in perfumery and it is blended so well it is hard to distinguish what kind of citruses. Just imagine 5 different types of citruses being squeezed into a glass. This last for about 1-2 hrs and it is projecting quite loud for that time filling up the room with bright realistic citrus smell.
In the mid when that bright citrus smell goes away. I still get a citrus accord from the Neroli and Fir. I also get some slight spicy nuances which makes takes this sport fragrance interesting.
In the drydown like most aquatics/sports perfumes. This dries down to a citrusy scent with musk and cedar. Shame on you guys for not giving this one the love it deserves.
    Longevity 6-8 hrs
    Projection High 1-2 hrs
    Scent: Very juicy citrus punch.

My first impression of AHSC was “wow, this smells like a fragrance version of Sprite or 7up”
A non-offensive clean fresh scent. The perfect HOT weather (over 25 Celsius) fragrance. You could apply fifty sprays of this and it wouldn’t offend anyone

I had the honor of purchasing the original formulation that only came in a 5oz bottle a long time ago. I recently tested the reformulation and I’m sad to say I’m very disappointed. It’s now watered down and lacks the full zing and galaxy of different citrus notes the original contained. With the release of the reformulation of Dior’s Homme Sport and Cologne, I noticed right away Dior tried copying Chanel, then Chanel tried copying Dior’s copycats. I don’t get it! As a fan of Dior as well, I personally think even the reformulation of Chanel is still better than Dior’s offerings. All in all, Allure Sport Cologne is the best citrus bomb cologne I’ve ever smelt hands down. It’s perfection!

The new version (sold at 50 and 100 ml and in which the expression “Cologne Sport” was replaced by “Sport”) is probably the version of Olivier Polge in response to the success of Dior with DHC 2013.
While the original version was my favorite (along with Allure Homme EDT) and it was a very complex and versatile perfume, using bold and intelligent aldehydes – I wear it all year except in winter, the new version is a fragrance almost exclusively for summer use and this is not the biggest issue…
There are, however, in the original version, microscopic imperfections that were mostly revealed to more intensive uses – a woody combination specific to very ancient colony waters that give the feeling of “old man” and the final notes seem to be dominated too much by the synthetic musk.
Well, I was very curious to find the vision of the young perfumer at Chanel (whose aesthetic choices I do not share at all) about how a top-class colony should look like – I found both good and bad things: disappeared both that particular aspect of the masculine fragrances of 80 years ago and the dominance of synthetic musk, but these have been replaced with a mix of citrus and other synthetic components difficult to identify. On the whole, the new version smells much cheaper, more banal and more …feminine.
I think the feminine look (the sad obsession of the young perfumer) comes from the red oranges used in excess and, for the first 15 to 20 minutes after the application, the scent produces frightening headaches.
Regarding the competition between DHC 2013 and this version of Allure without a trace of testosterone, I think it would be rude to compare a sacred monster like Francois Demachy with MasterCheap.
Considering that Olivier Polge has to be supported by Chanel fans for at least 40 years, I hurry to buy a 150ml version of the original version …
    Fragrance 6/10
    Projection Medium
    Longevity 8 h

@Veedabestchef do you have the new reformulation? Call “COLOGNE” or the “COLOGNE SPORT”?

  22. :

    5 out of 5

This is probably my second favorite from allure line. This fool proof heat defense. I work in restaurant where is hot and I wear this it projects like monster specially when I sweat. The citrus is very refreshing keeps me kool. Last me 8 hours at least and not overpowering. Lots and lots of citrus very invigorating and energizing fragrance. Perfect for florida. Lots of compliments too. Women love it.

  23. :

    5 out of 5

This is a lovely creation by Chanel. It smells far softer compared to the rest of the line, but the lemon and bergamot are more pronounced in the opening; giving it a somewhat sparkling citric quality.
Immediately, behind the fresh citrus mix, a peppery quality emerges. As the fragrance progresses, this arguably gets stronger; allowing for decent projection. The citrus never fades, and takes a very slight sweet turn.
This fragrance has a beautiful entry of neroli deeper in the dry down. It keeps a nice “bubble” which smells so beautifully clean.
There is a resemblance to Dior Homme Cologne, but this is far more special to my nose. A very classic take on citrus, nothing adventurous- but still novel. This will always have a place in my summer rotation.
    Wow!
My favourite of the Allure line.
Longevity is good, at around 8 hours, projecting very well for 2-3 hours. At the 4 hour mark, it became a skin scent.

  24. :

vinyl_junky take a look at the label on your bottle, I assure you that this is in fact an EDT! I own the entire Allure line from Chanel with the exception of the OG. This is NOT an EDC the “metallic” bottle you’re referencing is Allure Homme Sport

  25. :

    4 out of 5

Note that this is the cologne (clear bottle), not the EDT which is the metallic bottle and is separate in the database.
Picked this up to see what all the hype was about, and boy am I pleased! If you love citrus notes as much as I do, this should definitely be in your rotation.
The open is a lovely mélange of citrus notes – predominantly lemon and bergamot, but with hints of orange, grapefruit and neroli. These eventually settle into a nice spice and pepper mix, with a bit of tonka and musk mixed in which is sustained through the drydown.
This is a cologne, so I got good longevity as expected – I was getting compliments on this even 6 hours after on a hot, sweaty day. Sillage is moderate.
This fragrance is on the expensive side, but definitely worth a buy if you like citrus notes.

Update 27 09 2018: after about a year and a half of smelling this, I finally bought it. Still fresh, still pleasant, still puts a smile on my face.
    ————
    Fresh, pleasant, casual.
I am in love with this!
Yes, similar to the Dior Homme Cologne but I do believe that the Chanel have some extra notes that differentiate it from the Dior.
This put a wide smile on face every time I smelled the paper, and I guarantee that it will put a smile on your face too.

  28. :

    5 out of 5

I like this but dry down is weird on me it smells great for first 3 hours and then there is this funky weird note. That note smells like really really musky vanilla/cirrus off putting to me. Other wise a great sent.

  29. :

    3 out of 5

In the Chanel Mens line this is arguably now my first or second favorite currently. Pour Monsieur doesn’t ring my bell how I remember decades ago. Antaeus is great but I live in the desert so Allure Homme Sport works better even today in winter. Nit pick because “sport” was a major turn off for me on a bottle of Chanel. However, I’ve gotten past that. This is a nice light and highly refined fume just as you’d expect. Not sure how many guys wear it but nothing is my signature so that doesn’t matter in a way that put me off Bleu De Chanel .. even though I repurchased it in edp. Aldehydes here rock. Gives it that fizz of a No. 5.

  30. :

  31. :

    4 out of 5

Tested on my wrists and decollete @ Chanel counter.
Usually I try to avoid lemony-based fragrances since they always turn sour like vinegar because of my skin chemistry, but Allure Homme Sport Cologne (and Dior Homme Cologne, too) was OK, thanks to musk and other ingredients of a little bit sweetness.
As you guys point out, I agree that it has become very close to DHC after the reformulation but I felt AHSC smelled a bit sharper than DHC. The sillage is very soft (I’m sure that’s intentional) but the longevity is quite good so do not get fooled by the name of “cologne”
Not only for warm/hot days but autumn/winter days as well. Truly a versatile fragrance – I like it!

  32. :

    5 out of 5

A very pleasant casual fragrance from Chanel. I blind bought a bottle just to see what all the hype is about, and I am definitely a fan. Bold citrus opening followed by a nice floral/powdery woods/vanilla accord with the citrus still lingering in the background. Definitely a fragrance with two personalities, but I like the contrast. Longevity is above average, even excellent at times. The cost is a bit prohibitive, but otherwise a fantastic fragrance.

    Hi all
Probably it was mentioned here before, not sure, but recently been in Debenhams store and noticed that there was two testers of Allure Sport cologne and bottles was same with same writing on both sides as testers, but juice was completely different colour.one was green(!!!!) and other normal how it was for ages. Anyone can explain???

  34. :

As it happens sometimes, I can’t understand all the love for this scent.. for sure it is performing well in terms of longevity, ingredient’s quality (hey it’s a Chanel perfume !) and the starting is great with fuzzy zesty notes sparkling from everywhere.. but how it develops ?? quite flat and boring I’m afraid.. it won’t offend anyone I’m sure but really I’m curious about how anyone can get excited sniffing such a conventional concoction !! There’s a lot of zesty lemony classic eaux de cologne (and very old at that) that I find much more interesting doing the same job.. I quite like it but the big love bar here is intriguing !!

thank you Jacques Polge ,something different IN D LINE
My favorite allure in this line ,it opens with classy lemon.Citrus overdose in begining may be harsh but it gets much gentle citrusy/aromatic in dry down.
    definitely fresh summer scent

  36. :

    3 out of 5

This can be described as a mix between Allure Homme Sport, Mugler Cologne, and Dior Homme Cologne. It’s composition is similar to Dior Homme Cologne with that sharp and authentic citrus at the top. Dior Homme uses bergamot/ginger and this uses a lemon/orange combo.
It does resemble Allure Homme Sport, but what most surprised me about this one is that it also reminds me of Mugler Cologne. Mugler is slightly darker and has a prominent musk note as a fixative which makes its scent last a very long time.
The longevity on Allure Homme Cologne however is very average, but I think this was intentional. This was meant to be light and fresh.
In the end, this is perhaps my favorite smelling of the colognes listed above, but also the worst value of the 3. Mugler Cologne and even Dior Homme Cologne do what this does at a fraction of the cost so definitely give those a sniff if you can.

it is a safe wearing scent for office, i wear it almost everyday because the scent is gentle and not too overpowering for small room. more to be citruses blended with little bit creamy that resulting a beautiful sporty fresh scent. great for summer but not for high heat. moderate longevity and sillage.

Odd but helpful hint: LEAVE THE CAP OFF. If you wait about a year; this will strengthen the scent and the longevity will be better ! The alcohol evaporates (somewhat) .

Everyone keeps stating this is EDC concentration? Read the back of the box or the bottom of your bottle… This is 100% an EDT! That being said this has the most natural smelling citrus opening I’ve ever put my nose on to date and the white musk in the drydown is fabulous! I get average longevity for an EDT but wish it would last longer! This is a try before you buy as you MUST be a citrus fan

    ———– VS. ————-
    Update:
The battle will never end– between Chanel Allure Homme Sport and Dior Homme Cologne.
I have lived with both of them for a year now and love them equally. (You might too?) BOTH are in my collection in heavy rotation AND sometimes I just layer with both to – sort of – make my own “intense” version .
My update here was merely this: My bottle of Chanel that is now 1/4 full and has been with me for a while and SEEMS to have amped up in longevity and projection.
    My imagination?
Not sure. Is it possible for a frag to intensify if it sits around for a while?
Either way; if you are on the fence and wondering which one to try/buy the Chanel has better longevity.
These two are SO VERY CLOSE! I wonder if there is a lawsuit pending?
The only difference is at the end during the dry-down – the musks used in the two formulas seem to differ. (I think?)
The Chanel has a bit of what I call “that bamboo smell” The Dior is a bit cleaner and sharper.
BOTH ARE DAZZLING CLEAN FRESH UPLIFTING SUMMER FRAGS and BOTH ARE NOT OUTRAGEOUSLY PRICED ! LADIES- may want to try this as well. 100% unisex!

  43. :

If you can find this with the “Cologne Sport” printed on the bottom of the box and bottle, that is the one to buy. The new version (which just says Cologne) is a bit more muted. I find the CS to be a bit more intense and fresher, where as the Cologne to be a bit softer and doesn’t project as well on the skin.

  44. :

    3 out of 5

I have been lauding chanel for its greatness, how you should just buy them all. Not with this one though. To me it smells like a less complex, less powerful version of mugler cologne, which i already own. Its more like the drydown of mugler. Fresh, clean, soapy but this one by chanel is pretty forgettable, sad to say. Put it on and it was gone within 20 minutes.
If you have never smelt or owned mugler you may very well like this. To me this is a pass, it is absolutely redundant in my collection, and 92 for a full sized bottle is robbery. I own the other allure homme sports and they are nice, not amazing but very good. This one is a dud. Sorry Chanel, even the greats drop a clunker.

Guys please do yourself a favor, if you see some random person saying it’s been reformulated, check with the company to get real facts. People often go off “memory” and when they spay they get something else so they come on here an speculate a reform! I can’t stand that! Worse, they see some random persons comment that it’s been reformulated then go around telling everybody it’s been reformulated like a gossip girl.
Please watch the fragrance bros video on YouTube about reforms and it will make more sense.
This scent is amazing and I honestly say edition Blanche EDT version and this are the only two flankers worth purchasing, you have to like lemon citrus though 😉 if you do, then look no further for the Grail is right here

    getlive
How can this be much less than Dior Cologne?
Dior Cologne is gone within the hour. So what are are you supposed to do with this stuff?
After showering and shaving I spray aftershave, deodorant and EDT before dressing up. Than I leave the house by car. Before I get anywhere, rather than the gass station 2 blocks away, Dior Cologne is gone, entirely.
So what is a guy supposed to do with these 2? Spray just before arriving at the office? Before traffic lights? like women often do?
A movie takes at least 2 hours.
A dinner, unless at the McDonalds at least the same.
So if these Colognes are not suitable for office, dinner or movie in fact you say that both Chanel as Dior’s are a waste.
I just purchased Bucheron Quatre, which I also expect to perform poorly , but the scent is very nice, fresh, fruity and joyfull. Maybe this is a better option than.

Chanel what are you doing!? Reformulating your fragrances to weak performance and even quality and jacking up the prices. Here is another example! This use to be stronger, spicier, poor sillage, But excellent longevity. Not long ago this was $90 for a 5oz. I now saw this for $125! Please tell me this is a mistake.

AWSOME JUICE – wrongly named! Tacky descriptive word “sport” may as well be replaced by the word “McNugget”.
As Dior Homme Cologne is my signature scent – this is it’s “stronger cousin” I believe. I may soon have 2 signature scents that smell almost exactly alike.
    Is this possible ? LOL
The difference between Dior Homme Cologne and this one is that Chanel Sport has a bit more “spice” to it and has better projection / longevity. Not 100% sure yet–as I just got this in the mail 20 minutes ago.
    Mmmmmmmm………such an easy fit.
Would make a great gift for a “non-cologne” person! Great for office–100% non-intrusive. Summery fresh–good for the “winter blues” .
    I do L O V E both however!
P.S. I love how the neroli “peeks out” from time to time after dry-down! Brilliant!
    ___________UPDATE________________________
    Difference between the two:
The Chanel has a hint of that “oriental / bamboo” smell in the dry-down.
The Dior is cleaner/more straight-forward but less longevity.

This one is coming out in a 50 mL and 100 mL soon, along with the normal 150 mL. I hope it’s not being reformulated. The 75 mL is being discontinued. I do love this scent, it’s very fresh and citrusy, and my favorite version of Allure Homme Sport.

I really like this scent. I bought it for my dad for christmas because it smells clean and fresh like a summer morning. Very nice citrus and surprisingly very long lasting. I don´t find it harsh at all. It does have some presence and sillage but it is discrete and reveals itself only when you get close to the person wearing it.
I find it quite unisex as well and looking at the notes I know why… and I totally get the grapefruit note. Kind of reminds me of a far away Pamplelune (which i lololove!!!). White flowers in between…
    Totally recommended.

I don’t think it smells like Dior Cologne. Beware of those kind of reviews. 70 people think Ed Hardy love and luck frag is like Creed Milisme Imperial, a 10$ piece of Junk is like Creed ? This fragrance is very peppery and spicy, how can people say it smells just like Dior Homme Cologne that doesn’t have any spices ?
Dior Cologne is much better than Allure Cologne. Allure Cologne is a unique Summer fresh citrus because of the pepper and fresh spices. But that’s all I get, lemonade, and spices.
It is much better than most designer freshies, I will give it that. I have 4 freshies, 2 Guerlain, a Hermes and Dior Cologne. Guerlain, and Hermes are borderline niche quality at designer prices, check them out.
If you like a strong peppery note along with a very refreshing citrus, this may be for you.

It smells exactly like Dior Homme Cologne, which in my opinion is one of the best lemon-based scents launched in the last decade . I see no difference between Allure Homme Sport and Dior Homme Cologne. Both are great and easy to wear!

Perhaps my very favourite citrus fragrance: fresh, clean, natural and masculine 🙂 It projects quite strongly at first developing gradually from a rich citrus scent into a spicy, woody and in my opinion slightly sweet, smooth and very pleasant drydown, which lingers for a reasonable number of hours. I think it’s fairly similar to Dior Homme Cologne, but with more substance and complexity. Perfect for summer!

Perfection. Smells better than the original. My rank is edition Blanche > this > homme sport Eau extreme > homme sport > original.
This just has a perfect wood cent like cedar and lemon with a hint of fresh spice. Sooooo great and for 5oz bottle it’s like $90.00 at Macy’s.
I think the flanker is so big since its EDC concentration, but this stuff out performs a lot of my edts and hangs with a few edps
    Scent 9/10
    Silage 7.5/10
    Longevity 8/10
Try before you buy, but please try. I love this house!

If you’ve ever smelled Dior Homme Cologne, then you should have a general image of this AHS rendition. A fresh, sparkling blast of citrus, musk, and a small hint of spices. What sets it apart from Dior, however, is a subtle smoothness that lingers at the base, making it more friendly to the common nose. I can see the “household cleaner” comparison, but I don’t think that accurately describes the overall pleasant nature of this fragrance.
Not much can be said in terms of versatility, since a scent such as this should only be worn in temperatures exceeding 80 degrees Fahrenheit. When this fragrance reaches my nostrils, I see a 20-30 year old man lounging by his pool, in white chinos and a linen shirt, with Ray-Bans covering his eyes, and an ice cold Pacifico in his hand. It’s a casual summer scent for the modern, confident, and chic gentleman.
The longevity runs about 6 hours – pretty standard for a light cologne. Its projection is where it lacks. It becomes a skin scent after a few hours. Luckily, it’s sold in a 150ml bottle, so don’t worry about this juice running dry due to excessive reapplication.
So if you’re looking for an addi
