Description

This fragrance for men by the house of Davidoff that brings the challenge of adventure was released in February of 2008, except for the USA market, where it is planned to launched in the fall the same year.

It is promoted by the actor and the real adventurer Ewan McGregor, famous for his roles in Trainspotting, Star Wars, Moulin Rouge, Down with Love. He says that this fragrance and its advertising campaign are deeply connected with him, not only personally, but also with his great passion – motorcycling.

The perfume is created to be woody and spicy and it was designed by perfumer Antoine Lie, Givaudan. He was inspired by untamed nature, its freshness and rich woody notes.

This fragrance starts with sweet and fresh notes of mandarin orange, bergamot, and sparkling lemon, followed by green tea and black pepper. Seeds of black sesame and berries of South American pimento dominate the heart of the fragrance, and the base is made of Peruvian cedar, vetiver and light musk. The fragrance comes in 50 ml and 100 ml bottles, as eau de toilette and 100 ml bottle after shave, with the whole cosmetic line (deodorants, shampoo…).

Stephen Klein was the photographer of the advertising campaign, and the famous actor was photographed in dense Brazilian jungle.

I’m only gonna comment one thing because the concept and the blend of the scent is really nice and changes quite rapidly. The case is longevity. I mean, is the trade-off here to buy new bottles as a refill? The longevity is under one hour if you spray it on exposed skin. Under clothes it lasts about decent 4 hours, so it will definitely get you through a work day or a party, but you will not notice much of it. You need definitely a person that comes close to your skin to get a compliment, unless you just sprayed it on you one minute before your encounter. You don’t produce a breeze of a nice warm scent behind you. The sillage is weak, and suddenly you understand why it may be considered cheapy. I guess the frustration goes to the fact that you go “Oh this smells really good”, and then in 30 minutes time and onward, you ask yourself “What happened, where is it?”. The bottle I have is 100 ml, and with this rate of longevity I will have to spray so much that it will not last more than three months.

If this had more of a punch, it would have the potential to be pretty good.. but as it is, there is literally no point bothering with this one as it has the worst performance of any fragrance i have used or tried 🙁

If the concept of adventure makes you think of peppery citrus, then this is your scent.

I bought this years and years ago – when it was still relatively new – to a beloved boyfriend at the time who liked Cool Water (but I`m not a huge fan, even now) as a suggestion what I`d like him to smell like: up to this day this scent reminds me of that time, but I don`t only associate it with him!
It is a no-frills, classic fruity-woody perf that has a bit of edge due to the peppers and vetiver but also gives a fresh citrusy impression, I love the orange in this, so comforting and huggable! It is pleasant, simple, but not by all means cheap, watery or chemical and you can still get it at a really reasonable price, hence the average staying power, well I only came across the EDT, so that`s the one I relate to..I think this could be a perfect date-perfume actually, as it is not trying hard to be what it`s not, but gives a fresh and friendly vibe. If I was a fella, this would definitely be one of the scents I`d often reach for..

It almost 10 years from the first bottle of this cologne I used, and today I just ordered a new 100ml bottle. I have to say this not a greatest fragrance on earth and there is nothing to remember about the scent, anyway this cologne presented it own character well.. a man who enjoys his life and love the journey to explore some new places. 9 years ago I wear this cologne every time I travel around and climbing the mountains in my hometown and this is it vibes , The cologne represents the vibes of droplets over the grass(vetiver), cool breath from foggy atmosphere(tea), First light from the sun (orange)and warm from the plant of rainforest (pepper). The casual scent for a journey man!
Scent: 7/10 (warm spicy without sweet)
    Performance: 6/10 (just nice)
In the south-east pacific (my country) it work very well when you enjoy the rainforest, river and mountain around you, you can feeling as you be a part of the nature. Just wearing this cologne in the right place and right occasions you will get the best of it. If you love this scent but prefer more longevity and silage, I suggest you try ” Terre D’ Hermeś EDT ” that dominates with Orange and vetiver with extra longevity (4-5 hours) .

A very nice mix of orange and vetiver in the opening and it stays that way most of the time with some whiffs of fine pepper notes during the drydown.
Good causal daytime scent. Its a bit sweet but not overdone. Boss in motion is what I can relate to this fragrance.. Davidoff adventure can surely be in a collection .
    Longevity – 6/10
    Silage- 5/10
    Performance- 6/10
    VFM- 7/10

There was a time I was wearing Silver Shadow Altitude to work and unable to lay my hands on a bottle I grabbed this instead. I walked into work and was greeted with “Ah, Davidoff again!” – so the family resemblance is in there. But I was largely disappointed – the longevity is dreadful and the sillage weak – adventurous it is not. And yet it’s had a small renaissance in my affections lately. The end of the bottle has been in the cupboard for a year and I took it out and gave it a spin. It has a rich creaminess I missed before, and the vetiver note though slight is well blended and pleasing. At it’s current rock bottom price it’s a very nice office scent for those wishing to cause no offence, just don’t expect many compliments or any one to notice it from a distance.
[Edit – on a paper test the longevity was much better, and I experimented with far larger doses than I would normally employ and finally got it noticed and complimented – but if you have to put on ten sprays to get a kick from it something is wrong.]

This $19.99 cheap cologne, and def not the powerhouse the original cool water is. Its opening spray smells nice, but it wears off quickly. Avoid this one, not even at a bargain bin.

  10. :

Good scent, nice presentation, dry masculin frag., but unfortunately poor sillage and longivity.
Not bad for the price (good deals on ebay).

  11. :

    4 out of 5

Contrary to its name, this one feels less adventurous as it comes up uncomplicated and friendly instead. The fresh citrus-y opening feels elegant and expensive. It is straightforward in announcing its class, with a real good sillage upon introduction. Longevity however is a whole different story, on my skin at least. My current top choice for day-to-day and casual uses.

    Davidoff Adventure
Tangy, metallic orange. A bit soapy too.
This will make you feel clean, well groomed and confident.
Great all year around and extremely cheap to buy. You really have got nothing to lose with this one.

I just bought thos fragrance.I think its a nice option for a signature scent especially in the autumn and winter days. Its somethink safe but unique in the same time.I dont expect to mich from this fragrance because a want something light for this coldbwinter days. The price is good, the longevity and projection is ok for a daytimebcologne.I will rate this fragrance for 7/10.Safe option if you want a signaturebscent for winter.Nothing more and nothing less..

Starts with a refreshing burst of spicy orange and black pepper brightened by Bergamott and lemon. Slowly it shifts to a more woody dry down but amazingly the spicy orange stays present for hours.
I don’t experience the problems with longevity that others report. On my skin longevity is very good and the sillage is just enough for Adventure to be clearly present but still very inoffensive.
Davidoff Adventure is to me not very adventurous, rather it is a wonderful sparkling everyday scent. Very wearable for almost any occasion.
To start the day with the bright and refreshing top notes and then rest in the warm orange woody dry down throughout the day feels just right for most occasions.

  16. :

Perhaps I am succumbing to the marketing, but I think the truth is that the marketing is a reflection of the intent when it was formulated – to be versatile, comforting, and pleasant to a wide variety of people – making it an incredibly flexible scent for regular use but first and foremost, it is an absolutely perfect travel accessory.
The blend is equal parts spicy, woody and fruity – guaranteed to have some measure of appeal to most of the people you slide past in a crowded museum or stroll past on a breezy day visit to a park or festival.
It’s also highly versatile by application – you can go heavy to wear it as a projection monster for a solid 2-3 hours, or you can go light for a skin scent that will be detectible into the evening.
No, it’s not a complex, niche puzzle for everyone around you to ponder – and it’s not meant to be; for what it needs to be it’s absolutely perfect – and for the price you’ll be kicking yourself later for not having got it sooner.

  17. :

    5 out of 5

This is one of my favourites, not because it’s expensive or makes me feel a million dollars when I wear it. It’s because it smells great. It smells like those powered sweets you used to have as a kid (when there wasn’t anything else) that you were so fond of….but have never had since.
It’s a soft, comforting fragrance – one that when I wear it makes me feel “yep, that’s good – nice one”…and since it’s a very reasonably price scent has no guilt attached to being liberal with it.
A must to have, it’d be churlish not to.

A really nice fragrance to use in the spring and autumn (or a cold summer). The citrus, woody and fresh spice blend definitely makes it smell sexy and adventurous. An underrated fragrance that should be given more props.

I don’t yet own this fragrance, but it’s one of those that I have to smell whenever I got to the perfume department-it’s just so damn nice.
You see, as much as I can appreciate a well blended oriental with complex notes galore, I do sometimes enjoy a simple fresh fragrance. But if said fragrance is too linear, too citrusy, it loses my attention very quickly, it needs a little spicy note to keep it interesting.
Case in point, Davidoff Adventure. The citrus notes are balanced out with the black pepper which comes through nicely, but is doesn’t make the scent seem dry and overpowering as with some other peppery scents. In that way, it does live up to its name, as all those notes on paper seem like they shouldn’t work together, yet somehow they do, and the result is lovely indeed. It smells noticeably better and less synthetic than most other fragrances within its very low price bracket, and longevity seems pretty good too.
For now, I give it a 7/10. But that is subject to change once I buy a bottle for myself.

So I was strolling in a mall and happened to pass by a Kiehl boutique, I tried Vetiver & Black Tea and it smelled really familiar. After several tries, I’ve finally nailed the scent! Non other than Davidoff Adventure!
There will always be slight differences since different batches of the same fragrance will not be the same scent, after all. This is like ADG to PE 360 Red.

Been Trying this since Friday, so now on my third day I’ve come to a conclusion about what i think.
My initial impressions still stand, It’s a nice inoffensive fragrance. There’s a smoky spiciness that adds some good weight to this.
You can go a bit heavier in application with this (I used 6 sprays, 2 on neck, 2 on chest, 1 on t-shirt and last one on my shirt) due to the scent being more understated.
Longevity isn’t too bad with me, around 3-4 hours, and stays relatively close but leaves a fair trail.
Some people on here have mentioned possible comparisons with some Burberry fragrances and I can see where they are coming from, however this is slightly more masculine scent in my opinion, I also believe it is well priced.
This is a definite like for me 🙂
(EDIT) – After using this for a couple weeks I can say that the fragrance really needs to be layered, it’s best if you are wearing an undershirt (with a couple sprays) beneath your shirt (which again should get a couple sprays) and the scent will bounce around and heat up better when you are moving about.
The fragrance is not strong enough with just a couple sprays thou, you have to be quite trigger happy with it. My opinion still stands however, it is a really nice scent.

  26. :

poor sillage, very close to mainstream
masculine fragrances on the market, similar
    to some better deo sprays.
tea leavs, bergamot, sesam seeds, cooked rice.
nothing special, dont get all the positive
    comments about this average cologne,
    will not buy again.

I love this, I wish there was an intense version because it just doesn’t last on my skin 🙁

  28. :

A versatile and safe fragrance, but too generic for me to get excited about. Citrus opening, with vetiver, muskand cedar dry-down? Done before, many times on the current High Street market. I agree with @elaida_00 that its similar to Berberry London (and rhythm perhaps); however, Burberry gives that little more in my opinion.
    Have a great day 🙂

  29. :

Citrusy, peppery, tea leaves, ginger and geranium is what comes across to me. Not bad at the begining but the dry down is a bit too sticky gourmand. A pass for me.

One of my favorites. Bought without testing, and didn’t have any regrets. Very masculine. Evokes a manly sense of maturity, seriousness, firmness and respectability. My only misgiving is in its longevity, though. But nonetheless, a great creation. Kudos.

  31. :

Rich and promising opening. Interesting spicy mid, still don’t know if i like it. And classic, a bit smoky wood base. Mature, but not only for older men.

  32. :

    5 out of 5

    6.5/10
Sillage – moderate to light, my skin doesnt allow for good sillage however i still find it a tad on the weak side.
Longevity – moderate to light aswell, it would be nice if it was a stronger longer lasting scent.. although it is not a heavily synthesized smell.
Good things of this perfume is it does smell its name that being of adventure. i personally like the woody notes and the depth of the woody notes however still has a lightness to it. does have a nice opening but nose dives into a weak hard to pick up scent depending on skin type.
Bad things of this perfume is i personally dont like the smell of the mandarin orange however i am open minded, it could be alot worst. its opening is nice as mentioned but it fails to hold it down otherwise i’d love to push this close to 8.
Age groups – older crowd, mature market.
location to wear – as the name states , hopefully you embrace this smell whilst being on a adventure. 😛

Smells awesome but projection and longivity arnt that good. Projects for about 1 hour then skin scent and the longivity is about 4-5 hours on me.does alot better on cool summer evenings. Dont get me wrong its draws compliments.good thing its cheap to get so keep spraying when you need to.smells very nice tho 7/10

  34. :

    4 out of 5

Definitely synthetic, but I just like the way it smells, 4 hrs projection at best on me. Usually my grocery at the golf range scent… Could make a good Friday business casual work scent if it lasted longer.

  35. :

    3 out of 5

I sprayed it on the back of my hand and thought the opening was great, very masculine and citrusy. The citrus was more sweet than fresh. Then the smell was getting so light I had to spray again two times in the same spot. I’ve never had to do that before because all fragrances last on me at least 4 hours. Adventure’s projection on me is so bad I need to spray it at least six times (compare to the usual two I spray). I enjoy the smell especially the very dry down when the very minty tea leaf kicks in but the whole fragrance is only average in my opinion and the projection of it below it.

  36. :

    4 out of 5

its a little bit too mature for me. im 28 and i just can’t wear this. its a ok cent for me but when i smell it, its for a gentlemen at 35-40+ of age. it don’t smell old like those old colognes back in the day… its jus mature. i like fresh, clean, aromatic or sweet sents

My father keeps it in his wardrobe, when I saw it I was curious how does it smells. I srpayed it on my neck and I was amazed. It’s a great fresh but musculine fragrance. I love it, no matter I am female.

It’s a pretty nice daytime fragrance. I just find it a little sickly on times, I enjoy wearing it but have to be in the mood. On some days it’s a little too sweet. Saying that I find it quite original, the woody part of the fragrance is excellent. Lasts and projects for approximately 3 hours.

Davidoff Adventure is a really nice day time scent. I wore it for the first time last Sunday. It is very masculine and sexy. It lasted a very long time on me. I will be wearing it often.

  43. :

    4 out of 5

Actually upon revisiting a really smart fragrance from Davidoff. I’m not going to go overboard with praise here but it’s a very good woody/citrus for men and has a touch of the spicy to it.
Aventure has all the elements a masculine scent needs. It opens with lemon citrus which then translates a bit mandarin orangey which I defy anyone not to like. Pepper, and pimento come though as it settles and in the base is a nice cedar and vetiver.
Standard stuff you might think but Antoine Lie has done a stand up job here.
I’ll be honest the first time I tried it I found it boring, weak and seemed to evaporate in a mist of alcohol but second time around I’ve changed my mind.
Not going to set the world alight but good all the same. Typical of Davidoff really… nothing spectacular just a safe pair of hands and a fool proof choice.

  44. :

Can honestly say that this is one of the first fragrances i fell in love with after smelling it in one of them foldover magazine pages that have the scent in its bright spicy and citrusy well blended and classy suits a certain type and younger gentlemen wont like this truly superb and worth testing at the very least sillage is great longivity is also great not loud but noticable 10/10

  45. :

I received a sample a few years back and felt mind blown! It instantly takes you on an adventure into the wild tropical jungle. It’s a woody fragrance, by all means, but with strong and light woody notes at the same time. I had to buy it.
I don’t think I can explain it as good as I would like to. It lasts, in my opinion, several good hours. But probably everyone has it’s own opinion on this one.

  46. :

WOW,what a beauty from davidoff. The opening is very is of a beautiful peppery, bitter manderin. The heart of this fragrance is spicy and warm, and then moves on to that gorgeous vetivert/cedar combo which is so reminiscent of la nuit de l’homme, just beautiful. I personally have no longevity issues it lasts a good 10 hours on me, and projection is moderate which suits me fine :). 8/10 from me…………

  47. :

    3 out of 5

I absolutely agree with IMsooKool4Real, Adventure is a light, subtle fragrance that is safe for everyday use.
The notes I get are citrus, spice and some cedar, For some reason the drydown brings coconuts to mind, very subtle though.
As many have said, this is not a projection monster but I find that the longevity is quite good, I get 6-8 hours with no problems.
Adventure is a versatile, safe fragrance for everyday use particularly in cold weather, It might not turn a lot of heads but you’ll smell good and probably won’t offend anyone with this, definitely worth a try

This is a fragrance in the same character as Davidoff Good Life. It’s a light, subtle, citrus fresh and creamy cologne. It is orange fresh and not too sweet. It also has an undercurrent of light green notes. It is an improvisation on traditional white flower & orange colognes.
It starts of with more of a dirty orange than sweet mandarin. It is paired with some bergamont for depth and a refreshing pepper note which gives it texture.
That part of the scent fades rather quickly but the foundation of the scent – the warm, smooth and silky dirty orange finds it’s way into the heart where it’s joined by interesting dry notes of pimento, mate and nutty sesame all alongside some herbal green note that is downplayed nicely but adds a good touch of complexity.
The wood notes soon follow but that subtle creamy orange note and transparent herbs never fully fade off. In that way it’s nice in the same way Good Life is nice.
There is allot being written about how fast it fades.I agree that it ‘seems’ to fade too fast for me but not for the people who smell it on me throughout the day. It is a fragrance that the wearer loses sense of quite quickly but it actually lasts quite a long time. I get a sensation of – Wow whats that nice smell – hours after applying – just to realize it’s me.
This is a greener, softer but slightly less creamy Good Life to me. It also has a traditional Tabac type cologne note that is well hidden but peeks out on occasion.
A very nice fragrance. I would recommend it for someone who is not a fan of sillage monsters and needs a pleasant although interesting work or casual fragrance.

So my boyfriend bought this for his dad, his dad doesn’t actually use it, but bf does, and when he does I LOVE IT!! I think it’s quite a sexy fragrance. I actually prefer this to ‘The One’ that he actually owns.
Am gunna buy this one for him because it is hot!

Well i think its very good, Davidoff Adventure is well made. I think its more classy but still sporty. Davidoff will be my fave scents for ever. I like it and i think if you like Davidoff this is a good one. 🙂

It’s like a light mixture of RL Safari and Burberry Men. Nice fragrance.

Opens with bergamot, orange, tea leaves and pepper mixture. Top notes merge into the middle notes of pepper & pimento, which is a very nice mix.
Honestly, there’s not much dry down on me, it just kind of ….well, disappears.
Smelling this actually does conjure up images of the type that you see in the Ewin McGregor commercial for this fragrance. Whoever designed that commercial has Adventure pegged. Very, very good advertising (and I usually hate advertising in general).
I love the scent itself. I probably wouldn’t give it a 10, but I’d give it an 8. But the longevity on this is bad. In fact, I have every flanker on this Adventure line and every one of them smells nice but none of them last long at all. It’s very frustrating.
So I say do with this what you will.

I honestly don’t know , nice bottle, nice scent , but we didn’t click with each other , may be the saying that perfume dose smell different from one another is really true unlikely !

I consider this one by far one of the nicest male scents out there. It does smell good. Does smell lovely, actually, and I do not find it generic at all, find it completely different from the vast majority of the male scents avalilable these days.

    Agree with other review,
I find it similar to YSL L’Homme

    My first impression:
It is a frangrancia most common, is good, but nothing more. At the opening appears a spicy orange and over time becomes smoother because of the woody cedar. With a few more minutes I feel something kind of smoky / burnt. Good perfume, but nothing new.

For me it last very long. Stragely on my skin the sharp top notes kept going strong for many hours and it seemded to tone down to a woody base and even that was presesent even past 7-8 hours.
The smell is ok, the thing I like about and makes it stand out a bit is the woody feel to it. Would have preferred a slightly darker version of this
Am I the only one who finds this similar to YSL l`homme?

Terrible longevity and projection. This doesn’t last for long on my skin. Good price for a 100 mL bottle but in my opinion this one just doesn’t cut it for me. The overall scent is not that good to me.

I don’t care about a scent at all. I love or like and I got this bottle because of Ewan only ! He’s hot, tender and sexy and warming like this perfume. Simply bottle but really great smell especially in the morning. I got many attention. 9/10

I bought this as a blind buy, and was pleasantly surprised.
The drydown is very quick, and segues from an intense citrus to a mix with wood – it reminds me of walking past a field or lawn that’s been freshly landscaped with new flowers just put in. I don’t get much pimento out of it, but overall, the scent’s quite nice.
Sillage is decent, but the longevity is crazy on my skin – I can still smell it after 6-10 hours. It’s a pretty good buy if you find it on sale.

Iron, acid, sour, one-dimensional, masculine, modern but somehow refreshing and invigorating
    Projection & Longevity ok
Not a world beater but not bad also

Really sexy fragrance. I love to smell this on a man. It’s exactly what an aftershave should be – you know it’s there but it doesn’t announce its presence loudly like some fragrances. I’ve never been able to separate out the different notes; it simply seems to amplify a man’s natural scent. Yum!

Davidoff Adventure. Its first impression on me was very…normal. It wasn’t a very special smell. Yeah it maybe a unique smell but that doesn’t mean necessary that it is good.
    ——————————
The smell of Adventure is not exactly what would you expect from a fragrance with such name. It is not sporty nor aquatic & it is not a green, forest smell nor fruity !
I found the smell a woody orange-ish, with a little bit of citrus. Being woody & citrusy is the characteristic of Carolina Herrera’s hit fragrance 212 men, but Davidoff Adventure is very dissimilar.
The vetiver & musk add smoky depth to the smell after a couple of hours. A dreamy touch !
This fragrance has a weak projection, but like I said it is unique & it does have its own masculine personality. Something you rarely find these day, where a lot of fragrances smell almost the same.
    —————————–
Being a fan of woody smells, this fragrance was a disappointment, a minor one. Especially with Ewan McGregor as the face of it.
    —————————–
Its smell reminded me of Vera Wang’s only fragrance for men. Just a little hint of similarity.

i like this fragrance…it is good for summer, winter, spring, autumn. i like the citrus, the tea but i would say the most obvious in it especially after some time is the sesame….i like sesame in cooking! the smell is refined, soft and masculine. Women like this perfume and smells like a classic male perfume without being old fashioned.
