Balmy, pine resin, fresh masculine cocktail!
Its freshness is not in the citrus, but in the special blend of flowers such as rose or lavender and pine, which is very well spiced !!
Classic potions and indeed the movement really stimulates and activates the molecules ….
The original 90’s edition is now cult and difficult to obtain, but you can also get good quality imitations!
It is worth buying as a collector, but fragrance can now be split …….
This fragrance has to be born before the millennium, because it is difficult to interpret it afterwards.
There is a deficiency in durability, but the character of the scent compensates.
It’s a fair invention, but it’s a bit of time … but it’s also a place in the collection.

Just found an Astor Mainz version of active bodies. Despite a different pyramid of notes I find it quite similar to Witness by the Bogart house. Quite heavy on aldehydes with a common to both ambery mossy cedar base. A superb gem indeed !!

For some reason European women go crazy over this scent I don’t find it anything special but it’s nice enough to wear occasionally. It fits just about every occasion and season. Except I wouldn’t wear it to a formal event. Ideal for working out and smelling great. Just go with 2 sprays max and only to chest. Nobody should care about sillage in the gym

The scent is strong and heavy.
Very mature. Nevertheless, for my it simply stinks – especially at the begining. I haven’t got any opportunity to test it before the reformulations, but according to my nose it is awful. Used one test spray and i need to resell it.

This is a really strong, resin-y, leathery, smoky, aldehydic classic aromatic fougere. For an Adidas I was very surprised (blind tested it a while back and have used the vintage miniature up I received consequently)…thumbs up, do they make them like this anymore? This one stands above a lot of modern stuff.

The Astor-Mainz version of Active Bodies I never owned but I did come across 2-3 times in the 1990’s and it was every bit as amazing as others have said before, maybe in some ways fueling my obsession with collecting! The newer (Coty) version isn’t the same in the top or mid notes but reminiscent in the dry down. Gone are the sharper, more articulated notes, the pine and green notes up front, and perhaps a little less tonka (not quite as sweet as I recall it once being) but the aldahydes, amber, and labdumum are still there. It’s also weaker in cedar and sandalwood, but I still love the dry-down and get enough of the “original” in the reformulation to keep a bottle in my collection. Nice stuff indeed!

I had paid ONLY 10 euro for a 100 ml bottle and 75ml deodorant spray!!This was a steal!Before i buy it i thought it was a cheap scent, but now i can say that i would easily repurchase that for more than 30 euro.
I can’t comment on the composition cause all i get, is a blend of woody notes accompanied with an undertone of sweet and fresh notes.The smell is wonderful ,lasts long and projects very well.
I have tested many from the Adidas scents and some of them are really interesting but Active Bodies is more than this! Very simple ,a little bit linear with average sillage BUT above all well-blended.

Active Bodies is a heaven!
For once, it is a truly classy fougere juice with a powerful woody-ambery kick with a spicy edge, secondly, it possesses brilliant lasting power and silage – both with more than just a reasonable price tag! (Approx £18.00 per 100ml EDT concentree version)
My impression is that Active Bodies is one of the long forgotten gems, released 2 decades ago and highly underrated and unappreciated.
I am convinced that had it been released to the market with a Dior or Rabanne’s logo, it would have attracted far more attention.
Despite being released under Adidas logo, the fragrance has hardly anything to do with being a casual juice best worn when jogging at 7am in the morning.
The fragrance evokes a vivid image of a professional wearing perfectly tailored suit, self confident, positive, bright, enthusiastic, energetic, rushing to deliver a presentation in front of a chief executive panel.
Active Bodies is really unique. On one hand, it is sad to see it’s underestimated.
On the other, I am happy that one can wear it without the feel that half a population walking passed wears the same fragrance.

Lasting power 10/10 (skin-8-10 hours, jacket/scarves – several days!)
Considering such a silly price tag versus quality, you would be silly not to try it 🙂

…..PS: Iam a bit shocked because I received a brand new bottle today which is far from the smell of the original. This rather smells like a toned done version of Goutal’s Duel, very Tea-like, with the oakmoss and pine tree needles almost eliminated. What happened? Anyone knows?

What a pure pleasure this scent is! Belonging to the mass market section this is still pure gold. So warm, comforting, manly, classic yet never dated with an aroma which is so special even niche houses could learn from it. Will always be amongst my favourite fragrances!

“Black Adidas”….very popular in Poland, nonetheless it’s one of the best man fragrance on the market. I had a lot of perfumes from exclusive brands but really -from time to time I have to buy Active Bodies -very strong, super masculine with unique aroma…When I use Adidas I want to move, run, train….masterpiece 10/10.

Today in my local perfume high street – network shop I was sprayed a few times my arm and I back immediately to my teenagers age in 90’s. Wow… it’s stil this same great scent.Brilliant Sillage and longevity.

Here, in Poland, it is still very common and you can buy it simply everywhere you want. It brings me good memories of my teenagerhood. Both longevity and sillage are very good. Warm, elegant and one of a kind 🙂

this is wow. This cologne is amazing. European style. Strong and chocolate like. I love it. It has been once very popular(I think), but nowadays if you wear it you smell kind of unique, at least in the US. It is worth buy it blind because you can’t try it anywhere, and it is cheap. It is understimated.

Its really a Great scent for a great price. But difficult to get here in germany.
It reminds me off Incens, a sweet and fresh incens with masculine spicy notes and a balmy and woody base. Its really great and for this price very long lasting. In the base you really get a fresh (fir)balmy Tonkabean with some leather nuances. And there is alway this lingering Incens note, that is maybe because of a very longlasting aldehyde, the one that also brings this uncommon freshness in all this spicy/balmy mixup.

I had it once. It used to be very popular where I live (Poland). Probably I’m not objective but I liked it, it was fresh but spice, long lasting, at that time. I wonder if I’d like it now. hmmm…
