Description

Armani presented its popular masculine aquatic fragrance Acqua di Gio in 1996. Nearly 20 years later, a new version of the fragrance is launched—Acqua di Gio Profumo, elegant, airy and deep. The fragrance symbolizes the merging of sea waves with black rocks.

Acqua di Gio Profumo is an aquatic, aromatic, woody and spicy composition which is, like the original, signed by Alberto Morillas. It opens with fresh aquatic accord and bergamot. Its heart captures aromatic tones of geranium, sage and rosemary, laid on the base of patchouli and incense.

The face of the fragrance as well as of the new campaign for the original is Jason Morgan. It is available in black bottles of 40, 75 and 125 ml.

Acqua di Gio Profumo was launched in 2015.

This is my first review on fragrantica. I’m new to this hobby, but I have waited a few months and owning over 20 perfumes before writing a review. My nose is not good yet at recognising notes, but what I do know is how perfumes make me feel and how they perform.
I started with testing all the modern superstars (bleu de chanel, the one, sauvage, la nuit, and so on) and bought the ones I liked the smell of and what I can say after wearing various perfumes (those I own and many I’ve sampled) repeatedly is that it’s hard to find something I know I can always rely on. Some of them don’t perform, some of them are too loud, some of them are maybe a bit too feminine, and I even had situations where perfumes I love the smell of made me feel a bit sick.
Out of them all, the ones that never fail me are Acqua di Gio Profumo and Tom Ford Grey Vetiver EDP. While I feel Grey Vetiver is a bit classier and somehow better (unless you don’t like vetiver), I find Acqua di Gio Profumo to be my go to perfume whenever I’m not sure what to wear. It smells good when you are in company of people that wear perfume and it’s not too much when you are in company of people that don’t. It’s good for the meeting you have in the afternoon, and also for the evening out after. It’s safe with the guys and liked (and occasionally loved) by the ladies.
I find it super versatile, from casual to formal (although I’ll probably pick something else for formal events, but for sure it can do it), from day to night, and to me this is a year round scent. You might not like the smell of it, but you can’t deny that it’s friendly and natural smelling (not sure which notes are synthetic these days, but some perfumes smell like chemicals, while others, like this one, smell completely natural, to me at least).
Maybe my experience is limited, and I’m sure there are other more exciting ones out there, but for a beginner, that wants something safe, good smelling, that he can enjoy (I certainly love smelling this on myself) but also feel confident that others will like too, that feels appropriate in every situation, I feel Acqua di Gio Profumo is a superstar and a true 10 out of 10.

I love this fragrance, apparently the ladies do as well.
Recently wore it to my local pub, and I got some of the craziest compliments. Had a girl I never met tell me “this needs to be your signature scent” , she even went as far as to go grab all her friends and bring them over, they were all over me, smelling me going crazy.
I wear fragrances for myself, but it is nice when others appreciate it too.

Very good fragrance but… I think there is some note that I don’t like. Something sweet.

I simply do not get the hype with this, its so soft and faint on my skin I have to dig my nose in to find it so I can forget about anyone else being able to pick it up and getting compliments.
It also doesn’t get past 4 hours on my skin and thats after about 6 heavy sprays.
Will stick with Perry Ellis 360 Red.

Apologies for the image the following might bring up (please stop reading now if you are easily imagining things or getting offended).
This smells like vomited candy. I can’t possibly imagine a man smelling like that, except if he’s on an Armani fashion show, sweaty in the after party cocktail, bow-tie all covered in this scent and the traces of his sugar rich lunch.

    Chef d’oeuvre..
Been seeing and trying this for years and finally decided to get a bottle. Recently tried it on a strip and placed it in my passport wallet and kept on sniffing the strip. It had engulfed the bi-fold wallet in a few mins. And whenever I open it .. I got this pricless gentlemanish fragrance that I couldn’t stop adoring. So earthy and refined.Fresh and powerful at the same time. Surely gets noticed.
Almost 2 weeks later I still could get faint whiffs when I open the wallet without the strip inside, but still classy. What more I could ask for.
Without this, how small or big our perfume collection is, it would be simply incomplete .. A remarkable creation .Thank you sir (Alberto).

I want to speak my heart out while reviewing this. The moment I wore it for the first time today, I realized that, if my soul had a smell, this would be it. This suits my personality more than any other perfume. I am a store manager in India and in our country, people hardly talk to strangers openly, let alone giving compliments. But today, a big muscular guy while buying a punching bag told me,”Classy perfume”, what it is? He noted down its name. A lady said “I want to buy or for my hubby” later in the day. I hardly get any compliments from strangers and I got two in a day. Regardless of compliment factor, if u want to smell classy, fresh and masculine, blind buy it! Longevity and projection is great as well. It suits me so well that if I had to choose only 1 perfume for the rest of my life, this would be it. I think I’ve found the perfume version of me. I’m in love!

First time reviewing. This cologne has a very herbal and spicy scent to it without smelling like Christmas.
You get the Bergamont and the Aquatic scent with the initial spray, but it quickly (for my nose) changes to a sage-patchouli-incense smell too it.
For me, the patchouli scent is the most dominant with incense and sage right behind it.
As for the scent itself, it’s the more mature version of Acqua Di Gio. It would be ok to use in most occasions, but the scent itself can be a little overpowering for some, so use sparingly.

I am assuming that it is the one I prefer less than the original and the essence. It ‘a fragrance that I like and is very sophisticated. The opening is nothing short of the other but only for the first 3 minutes … after you hear the incense (note that I personally love). However, when the other notes take over my skin, something does not square. A herbaceous and smoky mix (I perceive it much more dry compared to the essence and the classic) perfect. A bonfire comes to my mind in the middle of August, when the smoke coming from a warm hearth rises to the stars. A color for this fragrance: Sand. A state of mind: Solar. A celebrity: Ernest Hemingway. Rating: 8/10

one of the best masculine fragrances. It has great sea water note which is added by fresh spices,it has some greenness I guess because of rosemary and patchouli,I also detect leathery suede like or something different similar to bulgari black,I don’t mean scent similarity but something similar leathery effect.Really good scent, suggest you to try it.

Man! that’s what this smells like. Pure refined man. I put this on and my wife hugged me about 4 seconds longer than normal. It was quite obvious that she was sniffing me while we hugged which kind of turned into an uncomfortable hug cause then I realized she was only really hugging me for my scent. BUT…. I can develop a liking to being used for my scent if I get longer hugs. Win Win?

This is a well loved scent (more so by men smelt on men).
One thing which goes under the radar for me is that its almost a carbon copy of Polo Black which come out before this !
Though its still a great scent never the less.

Today i tried for the 5th time because i never liked it, but today i tried to spray from more distance ( seems spraying fragrance from 40 centimeter do better results in terms of smelling), and i like it! incense was less prominent.

Really wanted to like this one but I find after the 5 hour mark the fragrance turns bad. Must be due to the incense.
Both on skin and clothes I get a bad body odour type smell from the dry down. Should never experience this from a fragrance!
    Had to sell it
I honestly preferred Dylan Blue which I bought after and does the incense and aquatic vibe very well, but had to sell that as well because I kept smelling it on other people

The brilliant Hugo Jacomet, author of Parisian Gentleman, described the british way of tailoring a suit as “understated”, saying that british tailors believe that the man is what needs to be noticed and not his suit.
Acqua di Gio Profumo is following that exact philosophy.
It’s a quiet fragrance, which only exist to make an impression and let the personality of the man wearing it to remain in the spotlight.
This is not something you wear when you want to make a statement, like Tuscan Leather or Tobacco Vanille. I don’t see this as a fragrance, but as a scent. An essence for a man. Because it does not give the impression of wearing a fragrance, but it gives the impression of having a beautiful natural body odor.

This one had to grow on me. I remember blind buying a huge 180 ml bottle. After wearing it two times, I was thinking of selling it. Now, around ten wearings later, I truly love this scent. I am actually thinking of buying a backup bottle, before this juice gets reformulated. I have never received compliments while wearing this, but I am in love with it.
    Scent: 10/10
Projection: 9/10 (It does not radiate far off the skin, but it does project a long time 3-4h)
    Sillage: 9/10
Longevity: 10/10 (I still get whiffs of it, 10h after applying)
Versatility 10/10 (Every occasion, perhaps not the gym)
Uniqueness: 10/10 (Bold and unique take on the original)
    Price-performance: 10/10 (€109,-/180ml, totally worth it)
    Total: 9/10

I’ll keep it simple. A very masculine marine scent (unusual for this genre). This is a chic magnet. Another classic thats going to sell through the roof for the next 20 yrs. Go try it

If you are a fan of acqua di gio, you will like this. It is definitely the scent grown up. It has the same Gio fresh smell, but when the musk and wood would normaly round it out, it adds in incense and sage. It is truly beautiful. I would say it is versatile, and can be worn day or night, spring, fall, and winter, and summer nights. I think it might be a bit heady for a hot summer day. Performance is good, longevity and silage.

  19. :

I like this flaker. As a fan of the first Acqua di gio, Profumo is truly extraordinary. We all know that the new acqua di gio is the diluted and diluted version of the first, released in 1996. Take acqua di gio first edition, touch the flower and put patchouli a touch of incense, you get ADG perfume. Fizzy, fresh, intense, much more mature than the predecessor, but equally versatile. What surprised me is the duration, crazy, weak point of the edt.Put in the morning, gym and shower in the evening, the scent is still felt. If you like ADG or find some vintage, or go blindly on Perfume, ignore essenza, the stupid son of the family, he has only the magnetic cap

Marine/aquatic, floral, slightly citrusy and spicy. Fresh but strong enough. Very well blended.
Better for Spring and Summer, although wearable all over the year.
I love it. Delicious mix. Exquisite indeed. With personality.
    Highly recommended.

I had this fragrance sample, and i dont know why so many people love it. It smelt like incense, in my country, when the people are praying, they will burn a stick and the smell of the burnt stick, smell like this fragrance. I even have a female colleague of mine smell this and she also agreed on the smell of the burnt stick, she also immediately wanted to wash off the spot where i sprayed the fragrance.

Smooth, fresh and classy. Long lasting on my skin, 5-6 hours(day). but you can use it also at night.. i like the incense ,very bold and unique. Projection? just good. Safe for blind buy (people pleasure scent)

I revisited this perfume again today, after a bad first impression on the sillage about 4 months ago. I rated it’s scent greatly on my first review, and I’m not taking it back. I really love it. That semi-sweet incense yet aquatic accords is wonderful. A balance by the earthy patchouli is also an incredible move from Alberto Morillas.
I would like to revise my statement on the Sillage. I gave a rating of 3/10, and I decided not to buy a bottle 4 months ago. maybe my nose was fatigued that day. But today, after testing it in the department store, my GF was like “I love this, I love this, please buy a bottle!” so I give it a second chance. Surprisingly the sillage wasn’t bad at all. I’m giving it 6/10, which is great for a casual, daily, office safe scent.
It’s really versatile and you can’t go wrong in any condition. Now I know why people keep calling this fragrance the swiss army knife of men’s fragrance. It’s versatility is 11/10.

This is fantastic, you may not LOVE Profumo in the ways that are easier with sweet scents, but it is a highly respectable aquatic fragrance, not always common. It’s distinguished without being formal. With this one too, there is no 20 something age limit, any grown guy out of high-school can rock this stuff. In my case, though this scent isn’t really necessary. I dont usually go to layering unless the fragrances really work together.
But I got a full Aqua Essenza gift set from an uncle who never wore it in 5 years. It on it’s own, is an absolute monster of a aquatic, also not common. And I’ve got Issey Miyake Intense, which has a very deep incense note. I do 2 sprays of Essenza, 1 on each side of the neck and layer it with 2 sprays of Issey Intense on each side. It has all the best parts of Profumo, except the notes are way more defined and intense in every way.
But I now realize that Essenza is discontinued, so in any case, try this one out. Its worth a proper test, make this stuff rain in store and give it a days worth trial period. I think it at least warrants it. I’d do it sooner, rather than later as there is always that chance especially in today’s time, that these f**kin companies could reformulate it, or possibly discontinue it. 9/10

The modernized AdG. Takes the original clean, masculine aquatic and adds a woody, more dark and mature scent. This makes it more appropriate for the cooler weather and date nights.
The opening is like layering AdG with a cedar-incense fragrance but blended seamlessly. Later in the drydown, the incense is still there but not as prominent.
Probably one of the best fresh citrusy, fresh, clean.. sexy smelling fragrance of all time. A re-formulated eau de toilette version to a parfum version.. what a true masterpiece. Everyone should own one for sure.. if you love fresh fragrances don’t hesitate not to buy this it is a true monster.
    Longevity: 10+ hours.

Opening; pleasant bergamot and aquatic notes (not to my taste exactly, but it is nice), trace floral note hiding in the back behind the slight incense. A touch of sweetness. Soft. Masculine but with feminine elements. Smells sophisticated and cool.
Later; Slightly herbal, slightly floral. Bergamot moves to the background and incense comes forward. Starting to take on a bit of “purfume department” busy generic perfumey smell mixed in with the rest. Smells fresh and clean, almost soapy too.
Drydown; Aquatic incense. Bergamot, herbs and flowers are gone. The drydown actually reminds me a lot of modern Cool Water’s drydown (although this is much smoother) but maybe it’s just my non-seasoned nose smelling an aquatic accord and thinking they’re alike for that reason, I feel like there’s more to it than that though. It doesn’t smell like menthol or eucalyptus but it has a note in there with similar feel – a very punchy, in-your-face sort of sharp-feeling fumey cleanness that clears your head and grabs your attention when you smell it up close (though not in a way I want my attention to be grabbed).
All in all it’s not bad. I don’t really like it for myself and wouldn’t wear it, but I can appreciate why people would enjoy it. It does have a slight warmth to it but it’s more cool and aquatic than I was hoping. It smells sort of generic and plain to me, but I’m guessing from the comments of more seasoned noses that it’s actually not – maybe I’m just getting stuck on that aquatic accord I smell (something similar to) so often.

Oh my, this fragrance is a pure masculine, sophistication, and near perfection in every way. It smells absolutely mesmerizing. My only complaint is the projection and longevity; it’s above average. For a fragrance that is not on the cheap side I was expecting a bit more in the 8-12 hours range but oh well.
This is a nice darker spicier, less citric version than the original Acqua di Gio which lasts bit longer and projects bit heavier. It really is a absolute AMAZING summer scent to wear to literally any occasion, even to work as it’s pretty versatile. Longevity is good in the 5-6 hours range. But you want to know that’s the absolute best part of this beautiful fragrance? The legendary dry down. You just have to experience it for yourself! So far this is for sure my top 5 fragrance.

I must say, when people talk about how AdG Profumo “Smells better” than classic AdG. I had my doubt..
And then i tried this beast
The first spray brings a HUGE blast of long lasting freshness
The “Sweet” notes obviously toned down (While it get toned up on Essenza), Compared to classic AdG.
    AdG Classic :
    Balanced Fresh, Fruity & Floral
Like a cute, clean shaven guy with casual wear
    Sporty guy scent
    AdG Essenza :
    Floral & Woody dominant
Like AdG more muscular twin brother, with a goatee and tailored suit
    Romantic guy scent
    AdG Profumo :
    Fresh dominant
Like AdG and Essenza eldest brother who likes wearing leather jacket on big motorcycle
    Bad boy scent
But i assure you, they’re definitely brothers.
For all who worried that they might not like how profumo smell, don’t worry.
If you liked the Classic AdG, you can’t go wrong with Profumo.
    Projections : 7 / 10
    Longevity : 7 / 10

Perusing the men’s fragrance department at Macy’s one day, I was really curious about Profumo, as I’d heard that it was a longer lasting, more intense version of Acqua di Gio. Indeed it was, and I loved it. The sales associate tried talking me into some other fragrances, such as D&G Light Blue and the The One, but I insisted on this one. A little pricey, but well worth it. This is basically the same basic formula as ADG, but with some woods and incense added to it. Instead of dampening the freshness of ADG, these added notes really complement the fresh fragrance, making it more suitable for evening or formal wear (although it would be fine in the daytime). I am really enjoying this fragrance so far.

Its the original Acqua Di Gio with a lot of incense. The incense can pierce through and dominate the first couple of hours.

  34. :

Hated it at first, found it too generic. However, it grew on me, it’s sweet note while once offensive is now the highlight. Easy to wear and a beast in the performance category.
People who are outgoing, bold and daring should definitely have this on their collection

  35. :

The best fragrance ever made in the history of fragrances better than Chanel better than Dior better than Creed, the best designer fragrance better than any Niche fragrance hands down this is a masterpiece get the bottles right now before they’re reformulated

  36. :

    3 out of 5

A very nice scent even if it is hugely over-hyped like Dior Sauvage. However I find ADG Profumo a much more appealing & classy fragrance to that one.
I have a sample of this and testing on my skin it rapidly becomes quite subdued but also rather elegant, fresh and soapy but with depth, the incense along with lack of floral notes gives it a more masculine edge over the others in the ADG line.
To me Essenza (RIP) is a nicer fragrance for warmer weather but perhaps Profumo will perform (and smell) better on the cooler days, if it does and the price drops considerably then I might get myself a bottle, if not then there are other more unique & less expensive alternatives.

Bought this gem a couple of months ago. It was kinda love at first sniff for me. Not the biggest fan of the opening, but it’s absolutely worth it to wait for the LEGENDARY dry down. They have used some great incense and patchouli here. It just works in the hot weather in India. Honestly, I would give it a 4.5/5

    i extremely love this perfume.
the first time i smelt it i was confused tryng to understand from where this paradisiac perfume was coming from.
this perfume to me is the scent of the black rocks of a volcano in an island in the middle of the mediterranean sea (and first time i smelt it i did not ever saw the tv spot where there are black rocks)
i had the classic Acqua di Giò PROFUMO and now the SPECIAL BLEND, they are extremily similar.
It was very hard to improve the legendary Acqua di Giò (that is too used from everybody) but Morillas did it.
Is citrusy, aquatic but very, very elegant.
i do not think is only for evening but for day too, i do not imagine it in autumn or winter.
is more mature tahn the original, more classy, misterious, elegant; is perfectly balanced and it smell really , really, really amazign in my opinion.
in my taste, is one of the best perfumes ever.

Gentleman as he is. Some kind of businessman on vacation. I don’t know how to describe it better. The pure power of water. It does not need to be suited to any occasion, or outfit, or season(except long walks in winter, when you want something warmer). Just spray and go. Excellent choice for the office.
It has freshness. It’s not freshness for young boys, but a mature one. If you are a young person, you’d better go simple Acqua Di Gio EDT or something else and leave this until at least 25 y.o.
I’ve tried whole the Acqua Di Gio line, and this one is best to my nose.

This Profumo was insistently desired by the vast legion of Acqua di Gio lovers. Strangely enough it has not become the anticipated big sales success although It is classy and expensive enough to claim that status.
It opens with salty water strong notes, supported by a bitter bergamot followed by a peppery sage. The middle notes make themselves evident soon enough with a camphorous minty rosy rosemary and geranium accord. The bottom notes give you the transition to a non sweet earthy patchouli very well combined with the dominant smoky incense note that will prevail also in the drydown.
The marine and the incense notes blend together in a brilliant way and the performance is better than in the original “di Gio” and way better than in the current watered “Acqua” version.
My rates for Acqua di Giò Profumo:
Scent opening: 8.5 (salty water aquatic, spicy, not sweet but pleasant)
Scent drydown: 8.5 (nice incense; poor sillage affecting thr drydown evaluation)
Longevity: 8.5 (up to 8~9 hours with 3 sprays)
Sillage: 7.0 (up to 3~4 feet with 1.5 hours projection)
Versatility: 8.0 (mainly for Spring and Fall)
Wearability: 8.0 (theoretically it has everything to please me, but in practice it is not as pleasurable as I expected)
Compliments 7.5 (It’s agreable but not alluring)
Uniqueness: 9.0 (just a bit similar to the regular “di Gio” but less fresh, less sweet, more smoky and with better longevity)
Quality: 9.5 (very natural high quality ingredients, nice solid heavy bottle, good spray and cap)
Presentation: 9.0 (quite nice; very simple but elegant)
    Price: 7.0 (180 ml for 86 € non tester)
    Average:………………….8.21/10.00
    between 7 and 8 =above average
    between 8 and 9 = recomended
    bigger than 9 = don’t miss it
Advice on Acqua di Giò Profumo: If it fits your budget and you like the scent, just go ahead and buy it. This is a polarizing fragrance with an hate or love duality. There are better fragrances out there that are more versatile and have that “wow” factor you may be looking for. Do yourself a favor and test this fragrance out; depending on the person, this overhyped perfume will either make you either happy or miserable with your choice .
    Blind buy worthy: No

Blind bought this fragrance on the massive recommendation from several YouTube fragrance review vids saying this is “the greatest designer fragrance out there”. Boy was I disappointed…. It smells good, but nothing that would warrant such raving reviews. I have Perry Ellis 360° red, they smell similar and Perry Ellis outlasts this by a factor of 3x. Incense note is minimal and other than that, it smells identical to ADG, with even worse projection, especially for a EDP. What a bummer.

What a polarizing scent, based on previous reviews. Love/hate. I doubt I could offer much other than my experience with this scent. Seems to project very well. I’ve hit 3 sprays and couple hours later, I’ve had friends ask what cologne I was wearing (the guy way of saying you smell nice bro), and who weren’t even in close proximity . So it seems to do its job in the performance area with minimal usage. I once talked with the sales person at a mall/ Dillards. I was explaining how frustrated I was at the performance of colognes on my skin. This is one of the offerings she presented to combat that problem. She also went on to say, That this is literally the only cologne she sells everyday, a testament to its popularity, both the original and now the edp. It’s just a scent that works. Projects well, last long enough, garnishes compliments( from both male and female), smells nice: what more could we want? if all perfumes were like this, purchasing that next cologne would be easy.

The hype is real!! This is a must have for any guy! If you like the original Acqua Di Gio you will like this just the same! It is just like the original just a little bit darker. Fragrances don’t get much better than this and Alberto Morillas hits it out of the park once again! I give this a 9.8/10.

the definition of a boring scent. It’s not bad but it’s not good either it’s just in the middle.
You won’t offend anyone and you won’t please anyone, you’ll be the guy who didn’t forget to put some fragrance, but not for long cause longevity sucks.
    it’s not a fragrance, it’s a smell.

    Edit :
Changed my mind, very nice safe scent if that’s what you’re looking for.
i got some compliments while wearing it, but only in the five minutes after spraying it.
    Longevity is ok ( 6 hours )
With 12 sprays it projects for about 2 hours
With 4 or 5 sprays it projects for 20 minutes then becomes a skin scent after that.

As a fan of the original and essenza I love the line but this bottle just plain sucks. It’s a dark, night-time unrefined citrus winter scent that’s supposed to be warm weather. It doesn’t make sense. Performance is weak no matter what you hear. Nothing aromatic about this whatsoever

Really great fresh smell which smells a lot like original Acqua di Gio, but a bit darker. Also very versatile scent that I think could be worn even in winter 😉 .

This is great the added notes of incense and whatever they used for the patchouli note (probably a “white patchouli”), really do make it smell like a large stone covered in water and petrachor at the coast. Kind of dusty but fresh, wet and rich

Normally, I hate aquatic fragrances but I am enjoying AdG Profumo.
The bergamot, rosemary and sage seem to “adjust” the salty aquatic note and really makes it shine. Color me impressed.
Though it smells professional, this can be worn anywhere for any occasion. Even though it is an aquatic fragrance, AdG Profumo is definitely a year-round fragrance.
    A solid 9/10

If you are skeptical of this fragrance then your wearing it wrong. Have a good outfit wear, on a hot summer night and wear it to a good event. Thank me later because this will blow you away. Good luck finding a better summer night designer fragrance.

Acqua di gio profumo is one of the best scents in the world. It has a very pleasing and masculine smell that almost everyone likes.

I really like ADG Profumo. When I first bought it I rarely wore it, but somewhere it won me over. I’d love to get another bottle, but my bathroom is full of different frag’s that I’ll never wear and I can’t get myself to buy anything else unless is something that is difficult to find. I have nearly full bottles of One Million, Armani Code Profumo, Versace L’Homme, Van Cleef and Arpels and plenty of others that are closer to half full bottles that I have grown tired of wearing. If anyone has a bottle of ADG Profumo(or Special Blend or Essenza) that they might want to trade for, let me know. I’d be willing to make the trade worthwhile to make room on my shelf and to also get something I’d actually wear.

Here lies my first review…I wish I could say more. Honestly, I was expecting more from this cologne. It is highly rated and many people say it is a no-brainer, blind buy. I say: do NOT blind buy; you may be disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, this scent is good, but there is a time and a place for this guy instead of an all-arounder. If you can respect that, this cologne will suit you well. If not, you may want to take a rain check.
Without getting too much into the notes, let me rattle off the basics. In the opening you will notice a heavy blast of aquatic — almost salt-water — scent, with a hint of spice. The opening is what kills this fragrance from being more of a “fresh” fragrance due to the spice and opposing aquatic notes, in my opinion. The scent gets better as it matures, rounding into more of a spicy scent while keeping a slight aquatic note that is more bearable. Expect the scent to close with more of a spicy, smokey aroma, and that will be game.
Sillage is above average as far as performance, and while I don’t feel the projection is amazing, I have heard mixed comments. Compliment-wise…it lacks. I have tried this in different settings such as bars, coffee shops, office areas, and shopping trips. I have had most success in the office areas as far as compliments, but it is not the compliment monster that many hold it up to be.
Ultimately, where do I feel it is best served? I feel it is aimed more towards an evening with your office team or a date, but in my opinion I do not feel it would hold in a club which is a targeted hotspot for this cologne, as there are many other colognes that will out perform ADG. Though, while I do believe it is more of an evening fragrance, I feel it may work in an office with the right man who holds high confidence in himself.
Overall, if you are a younger man starting at a prodigious college, a man who is in an environment where wallets are a bit more padde
