A memorable, nostalgic fragrance. It opens with a beautiful lavender and orange, which give a sense of peace and serenity… the gaiac wood is in perfect harmony with the roses,it is something unique that is difficult to describe in words, i feel a serenity with this parfum that hardly I find in other perfumes… the feeling of being in front of a fireplace with the burning wood while it’s raining outside. It’s a beautiful perfume, and i’m really happy to have tried it, surely I’ll take the full bottle! Very beautiful.

Wow! A big hit of guaiac wood, orange, vetiver and cloves. Its amazing just how much guaiac wood smells so much like the ashes of a bonfire. I know Alkemia Smoke and Mirrors and this beauty is a far more sophisticated unfolding smoky beauty. Smoke and Mirrors is just smoke but fab for layering
This really radiates out! I gradually detect the lavender and orange but the guaiac is still powerful. The woods and spice calm down and then the some sweetness starts to come through. I am amazed at how well rose, orange and lavender combine. The woods and spice seem to add a zing to the flowers and fruit.
I would wear this in the autumn and winter. Its transports me back to autumn and my allotment with the inevitable bonfire.
The sillage is moderate and the longevity average which is a bit of a surprise

Hmm, I got this as a sample and was very excited to try it as I love smokey frags. On me something weird happens; I get absolutely no smoke at all, nothing. All I get is an odd sort of Rose smell that honestly smells more like washing up liquid and stays that way.
I have maxed out which I love, but this one doesn’t work at all.

This one is the perfect spicy smoky scent. It is gorgeous. It is also very unusual, but as a winter scent it reminds me of sitting by my woodburning stove with slightly resinous wood burning away, I can almost hear it crackling as I smell it.
The cloves give it a warming comforting feel but without losing the woodiness of the smell. If you want a cosy fireside perfume I don’t think you could choose anything better!
Edited to add: this perfume reminds me of my grandmother’s house (in a good way). There is an accord of Pear’s soap in with the wood. This isn’t a soapy note as such, but brings back a comforting feeling of nostalgia.

I must amp the smoke note used in this because it’s beautiful as a perfune, then purely the scent of being in front of a coal fire. It smells like my grandma’s house now I think of it. It’s comforting but not something you might wear on a date. Its brought tears to my eyes. I can remember the feel of the green rug under my knees.

I am drawn to the scent of cloves. This is beautiful. Woody, aromatic clovey dryness. It opens with a big rose note which gets enveloped by the spiciness. It dries down to a smoky, spicy woody skin scent. Comforting, warm and slightly sombre.

On me, A Kiss by the fireside opens with a huge blast of citrus and lavender. So huge, in fact, I recoiled in surprise. It wasn’t unpleasant, just unexpected, since all of the other 4160 Tuesdays scents I’ve tried have had much softer openings. But, there is nothing shy about this one! Shortly thereafter, the guaic wood and clove made their presence known. Later, the musk and vetiver have a softening effect.
A Kiss by the Fireside is more “masculine” of a scent than I’d normally wear, but it is a lot of fun, and certainly different than anything else I’ve ever tried. I can see this being a very cozy scent on a cold winter day. Thumb’s up.

Since my parents acquired a house with a fireplace, I became a bit obsessed with the smell of it. There is no better treat to come back to a home filled with a scent of smoked birch, wooden logs and hearing the fire crackling away.
I am not sure if there is another perfume close to the real fireside as this, I only know of some room fragrances with a similar vibe. A Kiss by Fireside is what is says on the bottle- a smoky, woody beauty reminding me of that warm fire and burning wood.
It is a bit similar to AP Tea for Two in a way that both are driven by the smokiness. In AP it came from Lapsang Souchong tea, here I have an impression I detect a similar smoky tea note, although it is not present. Maybe it is a combination of gaiac and cloves?
At times I get a whiff of an orange that brings memories of Christmas and mulled wine. I get a tiny but of herbal lavender. But the focus here remains the smoky wood, the accord dominates the composition.
Not sure how wearable this is, I would not pick it as my work scent, but it is interesting enough to give it a go for a long, winter walk.

Hearthfire and roses, just perfect! This smells like something that could be custom made for me… I’m definitely gonna need this scent in my perfume collection.
Update: I own a full bottle now, 10/10 for originality. As Sarah -the creator of these amazing scents- pointed out: the people who love it, really, REALLY love it. Not a safe blind buy, but there are samples for sale of all the 4160 Tuesdays perfumes..

The opening smells of fresh pale wood shavings smoking on crackling fire. Then warm herby spicy roses come through and linger for a long time, with the occassional smokiness coming through.
The longevity is pretty good and the scent is warm and comforting. This one is for cold autumn evenings when you are snuggled up to your loved one and nursing a cup of hot cocoa. Simply lovely.

This is like a cosy Christmas hug
For me the main note is cloves, I think it smells like a glass of mulled wine. Perfect winter’s day scent or when you feel in need of some comfort.
